I have always had an obsession with bags, well that and with pillows. I can walk into any store and find a need for a new bag. I don't always end up purchasing them, but I definitely think about it. When summer comes I very rarely am able to just use a purse because I'm usually off to the pool or the beach. I need room for all the towels, sunscreen, snacks, toys and for sure the book I'm reading. This summer my go to bag has been the Pia backpack from Uashmama USA. This bag not only is amazing and gorgeous, but it is made of paper!! Can you believe it? Uashmama stretches and tans their paper just like you would with leather. Their bags are washable and so earth friendly. I'm obsessed. I've been asked it they crinkle and make noise like paper and my answer is "not even in the slightest!" You would think my bag was made of leather, it is that soft.

If you've seen the shared room I designed for my niece and nephew then you know I used some amazingly bold removable wallpaper from Chasing Paper. With the use of wallpaper back in full force, I thought it would be fun to round-up a few other palm wallpaper options for you. And if you are hesitant to use removable wallpaper, can I be the one to tell you just how stinkin' easy it is to hang! I'm on the hunt for a fun option for our small laundry area actually. We've had wall decals up for a few years, but it feels like it is time to have some removable wallpaper of my own.

My little girl gettin' cozy {Lucid Mattress}

My daughter recently received a new mattress from Lucid Mattress and I must say we are all a bit jealous. This mattress came straight to our home, rolled in a box if you can believe that. My kids thought it was so cool to watch it unroll and puff up. We chose the 10" gel memory foam mattress for her that has a more firm feel to it. It is so comfy and I love the fact that the cover of the mattress has a subtle pattern to it which adds to its comfort.

Rental bathroom refresh

My sister has the cutest rental home for her little family. Her bathroom was a bit standard though, so she asked me to help her just add a little bit to the space to make it fit with the rest of the home. Since it is a rental our plan wasn't to change any of the fixtures or hardware, instead we knew adding some simple decor would really make the space stand out. I most definitely wanted her to replace the decorative mirror that the landlord had picked out....eek. This is what the original mirror looked like.

And here is the bathroom today with a new mirror and the addition of a new rug, shelves, planter and various decor. Really simple changes that made a big impact.

I've been so bad at keeping up with my Monday Must-haves, shame on me! I need to get back to it because I love sharing with you all the things that I am crushing on. Speaking of crushing...I have a major crush on my new art piece by Lauren Marttila Photography. Lauren lives in Nantucket and takes the most amazing photos of nature, specifically the ocean and it's gorgeous coast lines. When I discovered Lauren's work (thanks to Instagram) I was immediately drawn to her Sea Smoke print and its perfect moodiness. Just take a look for yourself.

I love the mist coming off of the waves; you can almost feel it. This print had the perfect combination of smokey blues and grays that fit into our living room just right. Lauren offers framing through Frame Bridge which makes her prints stand-out with the sheer quality of the floating mat option and the clean lines of the frame. I truly gasped when I took it out of the box.

I had been wanting to revamp our shelves over the TV, but just hadn't decided on that "right" piece. I definitely think this Sea Smoke print is exactly what this space needed.

New sofa {Ikea Farlov}

We recently purchased a new sofa for our family room and we are loving it. We don't have a large budget for these type of items. Usually our process consists of us selling a piece of furniture in order to purchase a new piece of furniture. I know we can't be alone. When we finally decided to get serious about getting a new sofa I started doing some inspiration searching. I love the newer feature on Instagram where you can save images to your little hidden feed because I was able to see a 'theme' amongst my saved photos. You want to know what that was?! It was a white sofa. Can you even handle? Was I crazy to get a white sofa with two kids and a dog? I consulted with a few of the Instagram owners of these white sofas that I loved and they all said to go for it, that I wouldn't regret it. I officially made my decision to go white and that began my search for the sofa with the best lines and the best price tag. This is where Ikea entered the equation. They had recently released the Farlov collection and I fell for it hard!

I loved the single seat cushion, the two big back pillows and the arms have a real simplicity to them, but just enough movement too. And bonus, its slip covered, so no worries of spillage. I haven't had to wash the seat cushion yet, but I am getting close. I'll report back once I do wash it. Comfort wise, we are so happy with it. The seat is nice and deep making it a total lounger sofa. We haven't had one for almost 4 years! It was so nice to almost fall asleep watching tv the other night.

Monday Must-haves {black, white and tan edition}

If you have seen my bathroom floors then you know I love a great black and white pattern floor. I didn't think I had the budget for the most known cement tile companies, but recently was educated on Riad Tile. This tile is only $9/sq.ft.

I always have my clients who want to use existing furniture switch up their hardware. It can add such a newness to a piece. These are my favorite leather pulls.

I'm a bit of a snob when it comes to step stools for a home. I know they are very useful, but I can't have it cramping the style of my home. haha My husband still laughs that I made him buy the "cute" looking broom for inside the house. Designer problems. Back to stools though, this one from Serena and Lily is preeetttyy!

I always love me a cute hat...no matter how many hats I have, I'm always looking for more. I think this one is a must have for me for summer because my kids and husband call me mama. Clicking buy asap.

And does anyone else just love the Miracle Gel nailpolish by Sally Hansen? I've got a whole bunch of her colors, but there is something about white polish for me when heading into summer.

Monday must-haves {camping style}

My kids get out of school for summer on June 1st this year which is crazy early for us, but since they started Aug. 15th we are all ready for break. Just this morning taking my son to school you could tell the "I'm over school" feels had set in. He was dragging his feet and super emotional about going today. I think we are all just tired. I plan on pumping his mood up later with reminding him how little amount of school he has left and that when school is over is when we are going camping. He loves camping, I'm learning to love camping. Because we have a two night camping trip planned for just after summer starts I thought it was fitting to do a round up of all the things I'd love for our camping trip.

I say just because we are camping doesn't mean I can't make our set-up cute....right? I'd love to grab each of us a canvas sling chair to hang out in around the fire.

And with our cute chairs we'd have, I think an outdoor rug would be great too. I like having a surface to escape to when the dirt is just too much. Again, I'm learning here.

For the evenings and because of the lack of electrical outlets, how amazing will these solar lights be?! Must have.

Now, we all know I can't do without my morning coffee, so this pour over carafe is perfect. Just heat up some water over the fire in our kettle and then enjoy our perfectly brewed cup of magic.

And because we will be making this yummy coffee, then I definitely think the hubs and I need these cute camping coffee mugs. My personal instagram name is Mamabearmoysa, so it just feels like a must purchase. And then, of course, I'd grabbed the Papa bear for my husband.

Monday must-haves {beauties and beats}

I'm telling you, sometimes my Monday must-haves are going to be a bit random and this week may be one of those. I'm completely ok with that and hope you are too. I'm just going to share with you the things that have been kept open in my 'safari' on my iPhone.

I have been on the hunt for the best neutral lip gloss for years...years I tell ya. I'm super excited to try this one, Milani in Adorable, after hearing so many rave reviews. I'll be sure to report back if this finally satisfies my hunt.

Heading into spring and summer always makes me want a fun flirty earring. I have no shame that I wear jewelry to the beach and pool, why not? I just love how these earrings from Miranda Frye give a little twist to the classic hoop.

My newest plant obsession is the Dracaena Marginata 'Tarzan'...I want him in my house! I'm on the hunt to my local nurseries to find one because I just know it'll look great next to our new sofa!

I think we all need a great stripe pillow on our sofas and The Ivory Gull has that perfect stripe totally mastered. She offers it in three color ways: pepper, sea salt and oyster. She sells out quick so grab one while you can.

And lastly, we always always have music on in our home. I tried to catch a video of my daughter and I dancing in the kitchen earlier, but she was camera shy! Right now we just love listening to the Israel 'IZ' Kamakawiwoʻole station on Pandora. We love our island music.

Time for some change {our living room}

I have felt a slight shift in my style over the last 6 months or so and have decided to integrate it into my living/family room. I feel the urge to brighten up the space and instead of tackling painting the walls white like I really want to, I've decided to lighten up the wood tones and sofa. I'm in the process of trying to sell our sofa so that I can purchase a white one. Did you just gasp? I hope not, because white doesn't scare me one bit, especially when it's slip-covered. I just really am yearning for a super comfy sofa. We don't have a large budget for this room redo so I am finding items already in our home, working with some of my fav small shops, selling the items I don't need and am stalking online deals like crazy! If you follow me on Instagram you've recently seen we have gotten a set of new chairs and today I laid out our new top layered rug.

My overall design concept looks something like this, but I know the pillows are going to be changing as I hunt for the perfect combination.

Large art {my favorite moody prints}

I shared on my Instagram how I am a huge fan of big art vs. a bunch of small art pieces to fill a large space. I love a great gallery wall, so don't think I'm knocking them, but in some cases a large piece of art just feels right. It can add a bold statement or a subtle elegance or in my most favorite case, a bit of moodiness. I'm currently into really mist filled art and wanted to share my favorites.

Monday must-haves {cooped up edition}

I have been cooped up in the house for an entire week with my sick and injured little girl, so all I've dreamed about is redoing my living room and summer. Ha! So this weeks must-haves are some great pieces for anyone's abode and a little bit of what I'm digging for spring and summer.

Every home needs plants in it...every! If you don't have any currently, now is the time to go shopping. Not only are plants great for your air quality, but they also add such a liveliness to any space. I love a big air plant and am for sure going to grab one of these for myself.

Another piece you all need in your home is mirrors. They add reflection and when you use round mirrors they add such movement. This is my go to mirror from Target.

I am crushing on this new fringe pillow I grabbed from Target the other day that was included in the new launch of decor items. There is some really great black and white items rocking it at Target right now.

I'm back loving aviator sunglasses after not wearing them for about a year. There is just something about a big wire frame and mirrored lens. Even if you are just rocking a simple tee and ripped jeans, aviators take that outfit up a notch.

I love me a cute slide sandal for warm weather and I just love how these from Kristin Cavallari have just a little bit of a heel and I love the striated pattern and metallic touch.

I've been in the process of redesigning my living room space because it is officially time to say goodbye to our sofa and welcome something a bit more cozy. And of course, with the introduction of a new sofa I have to contemplate whether I want to keep the rest of the room the same or change it up. Right? Totally normal? I think so. When I was searching for new accent chairs I kept coming across some great options in all different price points that I thought I would share. It has been an exhausting weekend of parent duties, so all I can think of is sleep. Like I'm counting down until I can crawl into bed, turn on some totally worthless tv and just drift off into snoozeville. Doesn't that sound lovely? Because of this I thought this weeks must-haves would be all about me dreaming of some ZZZ's.

I have been eyeing this pajama set the last few times I've gone to, you guessed it, Target. There is just something about the stripes. The top is actually so cute, I'd wear it during the day, except now that I'm making you all aware that it is a pj top I maybe shouldn't do that. The shorts have the little extra ruffle detail that I just love too.

I'm in need of some new cozy slippers and I just loved the look of these Uggs. The color of them is so fun and different from the usual brown that I have always thought I'd grabbed.

How about a ridiculously cozy blanket for all this worthless tv watching! This merino wool blanket by Sarah Lou Co. is a stunner. I recently saw it on an Instafriend's feed and it stopped me in my tracks.

I'm all about lighting a candle and this grey lavendar one sounds like it will be nice and soothing.

And because it just sounds so very yummy to go along with getting cozy in bed...why not have a Hot Toddy? This little recipe print is so cute and a perfect addition to any bar cart area.

Monday Must-haves {Spring Break edition}

It's Monday and that means more fun things to share with you all that I'm in love with, obsessed with, want etc etc. I am finding that sharing these things with you all is really helping me not go crazy thinking about all the things I could click buy for this very second. With Spring Break quickly approaching I wanted to share a few things that just felt fitting for the gorgeous weather we are having here in Southern California. I know a large amount of the country is still experiencing snow, so let's also use this post as planning ahead for when your sunshine comes your way. =)

Now I've said it a million times before just how much I love hats. I mean, I have them on display in my master bedroom for goodness sake. The main reason behind my love affair with hats is because I am a redhead and with that comes crazy fair skin that has already seen too many skin cancers. So, I wear a hat whenever I'm out in the sun whether that be at the baseball fields, the pool, the park or the beach. And with each location or each mood I'm in, I love to change up my hat. This hat from Gigi Pip is all kinds of amazing! Wide brim, raffia material so it's light and loving the frayed edge.

During Spring Break I love to sit back and relax and what better place to do that then in a swinging chair. This hammock chair has been my favorite since last summer. It's super easy to doze off in this comfy spot.

I love me a cute one-piece bathing suit because I'm still working on getting those abs I've been dreaming of. =) Vanilla Beach has become one of my favorite bathing suit lines through Target.

Whether I'm sitting in my hammock chair or sitting at the pool, it's always nice to have a really great book. I recently couldn't put this one down.

And because this can't be all about me this week, I just had to share a perfect little gift for the sweet little ones in your life leading up to spring and Easter. How ridiculously amazing are these Easter baskets from Boho Pillow?!

Monday Must-haves {for me and my home}

I love me a cute ankle boot. I very rarely wear anything else, so when I saw my sister wearing these Lucky ones yesterday I was all heart eyes for them. I'm loving the black ones.

I tried these distressed jeans on the other day and seriously wanted them in every colorway. If I didn't have to leave the store to go pick-up my daughter from school I probably would have grabbed them. I love the perfect distressing, the mid-rise waist and the price!

I have been wearing mineral powder for years and truly can't switch to anything else. I don't care for liquid foundations and many pressed powders just don't give me the right coverage. I've been tried and true to a brand that you can find at Target, but have really been thinking about doing a trial run with something a bit "better." I've heard great reviews about this Laura Mercier powder and think I may need to splurge.

I already have Levolor blinds in my home, but I have them in the cinnamon color. Not truly sure what I was thinking when we moved in here that made me go with the darker color. I'm really wanting to go with the natural bamboo color to lighten up our windows. If you aren't familiar with these blinds through Lowes, you need to be. They are custom cut in-store to give you that custom look without the custom price.

Most of you that follow me on Instagram know I'm yearning for a new sofa. Our current one is fabulous looking, but boy is it uncomfortable. I feel like we are truly missing out on family snuggles because we all would rather sit on the ground than on the sofa. I'm loving the look of the Gabriel sofa from Scandinavian Designs. Lucky for me there is a showroom nearby, so I may need to go take a little seat on it.

The coolness of my floors {concrete floors}

Before we moved into our home it had baby blue berber carpet straight from the 80's. We knew we didn't want them, but we planned to live with them for awhile before we could budget for some new flooring. Plans changed real quick when the day we got the keys to our new home we discovered a leak had been occurring within the walls of what would be the kids bedroom. The carpet was soaked and stained and it was most definitely time for it to be pulled up. Because we didn't have it in the budget for new flooring we had to brainstorm our next best option. For our design aesthetic we thought concrete floors would be really cool. My husband started doing a bunch of research on what equipment he needed to rent, what gear he had to wear for his safety and just what order did the steps for sanding and sealing concrete floors go in.

Here is the before of our great room with its baby blue carpet and walls.

Once my husband pulled up the carpet we held our breath for a semi-decent looking slab. We got pretty lucky that there was minimal cracking and not too many chalk and glue lines. You can tell from this photo how dirty this job was.

The bottom left photo shows the glue lines we were working with and then the bottom right photo shows after they had been sanded. Huge difference. And then the last step after proper clean-up was to seal the floors and give them a bit of a sheen.

I get asked constantly "how do you like your floors?" Let me tell you...I love them. A few of the main reasons are its easy clean-up. A kid spills a drink, drops their food, gets sick...(all have happened) it is never a big deal. All we do is wipe it up. The sealer makes them repel liquid, so wiping up spills is super easy. I also love how they keep our home super cool in the summer. We can get to about 100 degrees outside on a summer day and when you come in the house it will be so cool. And the opposite of this, most people worry about, is the winters. I can tell you from living here through 4 winters that it hasn't been an issue. Granted we live in Southern California so we don't have "real" winters. Another reason I love them is because it is so easy to move furniture around. And this is crucial for someone likes me who loves to switch it up around here. And lastly, they fit our design aesthetic perfectly. They offer a clean slate for the rest of our home to play off of. If you find yourself thinking about concrete floors I say "go for it" because you can also add something on top of them later.

Breakfast nook {with a pillow swap}

I love our breakfast nook and if you follow me on Instagram you know that. It has been a space that we created for not only us four to be able to sit at the table together, but also as a space to hide many many toys! We lack storage in our home, so these benches have played an important roll in my sanity. And even better, this nook allows me a space to play with all my pillows. Yesterday I did a little pillow switcharoo and eliminated all the indigo pillows. Gasp! I know, crazy. As you can see though, it is kinda fun to be able to do this. I'm not committed to any one arrangement of the pillows, so it definitely satisfies my constant need for change.

Monday must-haves {come on Spring}

As I sit here writing this and it's raining outside again, I can't help but think of Spring and Summer! I'm so ready for sunshine and hanging out outside. This weekend was opening day for Little League and anyone else that is a baseball parent knows just how much time we spend at the fields. I'm always on the hunt for items that can make be feel put together, comfortable and not lack in style. Here are this weeks must-haves.

I have been obsessed with these Free People royale flats for longer then I can count. I just love how they look and I know I could walk around in them all day.

This Baseball mom hat has been a staple of mine for over a year. I am a redhead so wearing a hat when I'm outside for long periods is an absolute must. And I just love how this hat claims my title for the weekend. They make so many other hats for us moms, check them out.

You can usually find my daughter hanging out of the grass either coloring or playing with the other sisters who have brothers playing on the team. This Ulive linen towel would be great to throw down for her so she doesn't get itchy. Anyone else have a kiddo who immediately cries "itchy" after they have been on the grass for awhile? I converted to thinner towels a few years ago because I just love how easy they are to throw in my bag without lugging around the traditional terry towel. If you haven't grabbed a linen or Turkish towel yet, get to it. You'll be obsessed.

You can also find me rocking a Cross body purse so that I have my hands free for all the other items I have to carry from the car. I thought this one was so cute and definitely my style.

Sun Bum spray has been a staple in our home. It is the only spray my kids love the smell of. I'm a huge advocate of wearing SPF always...again redhead here. I've had too many procedures done on my skin over the years, so we all grab our Sun Bum spray when we are at the fields.

Lastly, I can't stand having to run to the snack bar all the time so these Freezable carryall lunch bags are great to pack up in the morning. They freeze all night so that they keep the food cold all day.

I've been super busy finishing up a good amount of client designs, anything from nurseries to guest rooms. I'm always so thankful that I have the opportunity to help clients love their spaces.

This nursery was so fun because it was for a mom who has two daughters and is expecting her first boy.

This guest room/ hang out room features a king size pull out sofa bed.

This family room is for a newly married couple who recently bought their first home and wanted an "adult" space.

This big girl room was a mini E-design where we worked with the existing bed and dresser, but took the traditional furniture and amped it up with a boho twist.

This master bedroom retreat was designed for a childhood friend whom I connected with again through Instagram.

Busy, busy, busy me can't wait to see all these spaces come together.

Monday must-haves {on a Tuesday}

So, I got completely thrown off on my days with this four day weekend. I'm definitely not complaining, but I was planning on launching this new series yesterday, haha, oops. If you are anything like me, then you have a constant wishlist or list of favorite things that you think everyone should have. I've decided that instead of keeping these things to myself, I'm going to share them. Why not, right?

First up is Jenna's kitchen "Just Add Water" brand new product she just launched. I'm obsessed with cups and this one called my name with it's all white exterior and 30 oz capacity. I have to have a fun cup to drink out of in order to get all my water in. Don't hand me no plastic water bottle, no way.

Skechers have become my go to shoe for working out. Who would have ever thought? I thought I was a Nike girl, but when I put these on with their goga mat technology sole...it was like walking on a cloud.

I am obsessed with my Apple lightning SD card reader. For any of you that use your "nice" camera to take your interiors pictures, but hate the process of importing them to your computer, then this is your guy. All you do is take your sd card out of your camera, stick it in this and then plug it into your iPhone. Instant import. You're welcome!

My Mae Woven market bag is my go-to bag when I need something large enough, whether it be for me heading to the pool, the beach or the local flea market. This bag is it for me.

I have suggested this Accent chair to a handful of clients and I just really really really want one for myself.

Small rug, big statement {Vintage rug round-up}

Many of you loved the rug I purchased for my bathroom refresh. Since it is a one of a kind, I thought I'd share with you all a few of the others that I was deciding between. They all are slightly different sizes and I tried to keep the price under $150 if possible. I always go into these kind of purchases knowing that I may get something with a bit of a different colorway then expected. I was pleasantly surprised with the warmth that my rug has provided to my space.

Completed bathroom {from awful to awesome!}

I have shared our bathroom with you all a few times, but for those of you who haven't seen where it started to what it is now, I thought I'd gather it all in this one post for you. You're welcome =)

When we bought our condo in December 2012 it was straight out of the 80's. A sweet older couple who were the original owners still lived here and I don't think they had ever re-decorated. So, we had a new home with baby blue walls, baby blue vertical blinds and baby blue Berber carpet. It was awesome. (insert sarcasm) I 100% could see the potential with the open concept this home had and just knew we could make it our own.

Now the bathroom was pretty horrible with its old vanity, fluorescent lighting and weird door situation. It also had a baby blue toilet seat....do you see a theme here? Take a look.

And could there have been anymore towel racks?

Our first order of duty was to remove one of the three doors in this little space, remove the towel racks, get a new toilet and then out with the horrible floor tiles. We had already changed the rest of the house to cement floors so it was our plan in here too.

We made major progress over the course of the first year and ended up replacing the existing vanity as well. Here is what our bathroom looked like at the beginning of December 2016.

You can see once we removed the tile floors how rough the cement slab looked. If you can believe it from this photo, the floors were actually smooth as could be, but the mortar left horrible ridging marks, boo. We lived with this for awhile while I was brainstorming our next move.

And then I found the most amazing, cost effective company called Quadrostyle. They make peel 'n stick tiles and floor panels that look exactly like real tiles for way less. Sign me up! We are on a very strict budget over here and as much as I've dreamed about laying down cement tiles, we just can't afford it. So Quadrostyle gave me the look I dreamed of, minus the cost.

For our situation and space, a major plus about Quadrostyle is the fact that the panels are so thin making the line where our cement floors hit the panels created such a super smooth transition. Where if I did lay actual tile I would have had an up-step. Even though these panels are thin, you are going to be shocked how durable they are. Just because the holidays are over, doesn't mean the gift giving comes to a halt. Personally, I just absolutely love giving gifts to others. I definitely think it is the most fun to surprise my husband with something special. We don't exchange gifts too often because we tend to focus on the kids, but when we do give gifts, we make them count.
With Valentine's Day approaching it is time to start thinking about what we all might gift to our loved one. I have an idea for you. I think giving a gift that is timeless, amazing quality and truly unique is the way to go, so that is why I wanted to suggest JORD wood watches. I mean, just saying that, don't they sound like a cool watch? It is a watch made out of wood!! It also comes in the most spectacular wood box that acts as a humidifier to keep the watch looking and performing properly for years and years.

I truly wanted to spoiled my husband with something special because we have been through so much over the course of the last few years. We've been each others rock during the time I was being a gestational carrier for my cousin and his wife. We've been each others rock through my husband losing his job and us buying our first condo. We've been each others rock through the uncertainty of when that next job would come. We've struggle, but at the same time we've flourished. Times were tough, but our love was tougher. We were in it for better or worse and I just knew we'd start to see the light at the end of the tunnel at some point. Well, holy moly, grabbing the sunglasses because things are so much brighter now. We've had to create a new normal for our little fam, but I can see clearly now. Time to spoil my man for all the hardwork he has and continues to put forth for me and the kids.
I chose the new Conway in dark sandalwood with the burgundy face watch for my husband. I loved the richness this color combo exuded. And for a little added detail there are stainless steel links intermixed on the band. Truly this watch is a piece of art.
