Two and a quarter years old

Dear Love, you are becoming such a big girl! Every once and a while, I'll look at you and really see the girl you're becoming. Eek!

Loves:

Eating whole tomatoes as soon as they turn red

Asking for hugs and kisses

playing hide-and-seek and catch me

balancing on one foot (with a little assistance)

pony galloping

jumping with both feet

coloring mini-pumpkins

watching/helping me cook

roaring like a lion/dinosaur

"talking" on the phone

typing on the 'puter

watching "cur-y-ing" george

shaking her "comraca" otherwise known as a maraca

dancing and calling out the moves

dislikes:

going to take a bath or shower

being overtired

being stuck in the car for too many hours

having to come inside when she's not done having fun

having her diaper changed when she's not ready

Some stories:

You were commenting on my floral bathrobe one day and said, "Momma, your robot is bee-you-tee-ful!"

One of the weekends we were in OKC, you were watching the choir at church sing and began to sway back and forth singing, "ooooooooh," with them. :)
You can count from 1-15 by memory. You haven't quite figured out how to count that many items, yet, but we'll get there. You frequently will start at one get to 15 and then immediately go back to six and continue looping six-fifteen. (It's you're very own do-loop.)

Olivia isn't quite old enough to take classes at our local studio yet but she got to come explore it while I filled out some paperwork because I'm teaching a couple classes this year.

Amy came to visit us (in July, oops!)

2013-10-16T14:12:00.000-05:00

Well, I really thought I'd posted these pictures a while ago. Oops.

Olivia loved having her godmom Amy here for almost a full week!

We just took her around Los Alamos doing all of our normal activities: Music and Movement at the library, grocery shopping, playing at the park, etc.

Goodbye Colorado! You were a wonderful weekend getaway!

PB&J ice cream was a hit!

2013-08-25T19:00:00.003-05:00

We found an ice cream shop in Denver called Sweet Cow that was delicious! And, the customer service was wonderful! The employees were so wonderful to Olivia and even gave her an extra spoonful of her ice cream after she'd finished her bowl (by licking the bottom of it).

WHAT!!! You want me to get out from underneath the clean covers so you can make the bed? Nah.

2013-08-24T08:19:00.001-05:00

We had a ton of fun when my parents and godparents came to visit last weekend! The county fair was going on so we got to go to the arts and crafts fair and watch the parade. Other than that, we ate well, explored Overlook and played with Olivia's toys. :)

She's two years old!

2013-07-09T17:21:00.005-05:00

I know this post is over a week late but we've been busy having tons of fun.

My little love, it is hard to believe that you are two years old. Still my baby but definitely not a baby any longer. You are all toddler down to the extreme love of the word "no."

This past month we've done a lot of your standard summer stuff and eaten a lot of your standard summer foods: baby pool, sprinkler, library, popsicles, yogurt, watermelon, peaches, etc. She's loved it all!

You're speaking in such complete sentences/thoughts now. You're using prepositional phrases all the time, too. You'll tell me to push the swing behind you and to sit beside you.

Other fun things you frequently say are:

"How are you doing? Doing well."

"Such pretty hair."

"Rock on!"

That's cool."

"Hug!?!"

"Wub you sooo much!"

"No mommy don't talk to Daddy. Talk to Olivia."

"No owl get us." (We don't understand this one but you say it a lot.)

"aaaaaaaaaah" in a singsong voice

Loves:

talking about the "camboose." (caboose on a train.)

Roxy and Pirate and asking them for hugs

using your water spray bottle to clean the windows and the floor and everything else you can get away with spraying

outside

eating raw kale, pb&j, turkey hot dogs with ketchup, yogurt, watermelon, oranges

dancing/making "moon" arms/spinning in circles

talking about yourself in third person

going for runs and bike rides with daddy in the stroller or the trailer

playing with your friends

putting diapers on your dolls and stuffed animals

dislikes:

not getting someone's full attention (no matter the reason that we aren't focusing on you at the moment)

having to come inside

being overtired

having to take a bath when there is so much more to do that's not in the bathtub

Little girl, you are the light of my life and you make me smile constantly! At least two or three times a week you make me and your daddy laugh so hard that our eyes are watering. Thank you!!

Olivia's 2nd birthday was pretty stinkin' awesome!
