Layers of Lovely designed an all white bouquet with hydrangea, sweet pea, roses, and ranunculus. The sweet pea adds a hint of green for some color. I am in love with ranunculus! It is becoming my new favorite flower!

Everyone had these elaborate costumes that they made themselves or bought through Ebay and Etsy. We should have tried to get a group shot at the beginning, but we weren’t organized enough, so here are most of the Steampunk enthusiasts that showed up for the shoot. We shot this at the Clark County Museum, which is fairly large and I could take individual portraits of each person without running into another photographer. I just love the details that everyone put on their costumes.

As you can see by the variety of costumes, everyone has a different interpretation of Steampunk and the costumes reflect their personalities. A lot of them had guns too, of all shapes and sizes.

I was really impressed with her gun and how it is modified from one of those Nerf guns!

This is my interpretation of American gothic juxtaposed by a warmer portait on the right. I really wanted to show off her beautiful eyes!

I photographed this couple separately because I just love these portraits. He is dressed up as a Prussian soldier, and yes, that is his real mustache!

But Jessie of The Emerics really helped me to relax and we had a great time wandering around the Clark County Museum in Henderson, just outside Las Vegas! (Gosh I know she won my giveaway over the weekend, but that was pure coincidence!)

I’m not sure if I totally pulled off looking super cool, but I had fun pretending.

Emily Ku is a Birthday giveaway.

Jessie and Jason were one of the first couples that I met when I moved to Vegas. I attended a photography shoot about a year ago and did this awesome couples session downtown at the Arts District, and I met them at the shoot. They were incredibly nice and friendly, which really meant a lot to me because being new to town, I didn’t know anyone at the shoot. And so fast forward a year later, we actually went back to that same part of town for their session!

The Arts District is home to a lot of great local artists. If you’ve never been there, you should totally check it out! While known for its artistically done graffiti walls, I wanted to do some exploring and really wanted the focal point to be on them.

Photographers are generally pretty shy in front of the camera. That’s why we prefer to be behind the camera! Jessie and Jason were stressing not a little bit before the session, but they are totally not camera shy as they claimed to be! And Jessie has such a cute laugh!

I love these series of photos. Every time I asked them to look at each other, they started laughing really hard.

Gorgeous makeup by Megan of Makeup in the 702! Professional makeup makes such a huge difference in photos, I cannot stress that enough.

I absolutely adore worn looking warehouses, especially those with broken windows! In Boston it was fairly easy for me to photograph them because they are all over the city, but it’s harder to find good industrial spots in Vegas.

We walked over to Bar + Bistro inside the Arts Factory for some coffee and some good reading (they also have amazing food!). The book just happened to match the candleholders and Bar + Bistro!

I totally dig these antique movie seats and the cacti behind them.

They had a 50s themed wedding, which was totally them, and everything was really reflective of the 1950s, from their attire to having a photo booth that only printed pictures in black and white, and using carnations, which was popular in the 50s (something I learned from Lara!). I loved absolutely every detail of their wedding!

Christine Copeland did an amazing job with her hair and makeup and transforming her into a 1950s bride! And isn’t her lace bolero the cutest?!

I could photograph Lara all day!

You can totally feel the love at this wedding! Many of the guests also dressed up in the 1950s theme too! The dress by Dolly Couture was just the cutest dress I’ve ever seen!

Lara and Justin had a 50s jazz quartet during the ceremony and they sounded amazing. Lara and Justin had old pictures of all their respective family members. After the unity candle, they started moving the frames from the two tables to the main table, symbolizing the joining of the two families. It was very touching.

There is an incredible modern bar at the Platinum Hotel with very moody blue lighting, perfect for my stylish couple!

This is one of my favorite bridal portraits. Lara really likes photography from the 1950s, and so I experimented and tried something new by lighting her in a more old Hollywood glamour style.

Lara’s family was just adorable and presented the couple with bread and salt and some other things, each with a special symbolic meaning.

Freed’s Bakery created a 50s era buttercream cake, topped off with a vintage cake topper!

Lara and Justin surprised their guests by hiring a Frank Sinatra impersonator! What a memorable way to have your first dance!

Justin meticulously picked out all songs from the 1950s for their reception. Everyone had such a fun time and Lara’s parents (on the right) were so cute and even got out on the dance floor.

The Platinum Hotel rooftop has an amazing view of the Las Vegas Strip. What a great way to end the night!

The wedding coordinator, Marie at The Platinum Hotel, was amazing and super nice! I can’t say enough good things about her and how hard she worked to make their wedding a success.

Emily Ku is a Lara + Justin’s wedding at Platinum Hotel.

Here are pictures that I captured with my Fuji x100 camera. I will probably write a review on the camera at some point, so stay tuned! In a nutshell, I love this camera and use it whenever I go out now. No more lugging around my big DSLR around town! It came in very handy at CES, since we were walking around the show for 8 hours a day for two days, any extra weight would be burdensome!

When we first arrived, we had no idea it was so monstrously big. It was daunting because everyone else looked like they knew where they were going except for us. But after a while we figured it out where we were supposed to go to get our badges. We just walked into and gawked at the rows of maps for all the different convention halls. We picked up some maps and then realized we didn’t even know which convention hall we were in. So we ended up just wandering around, but we lucked out because we ended up at the main convention hall. The first booth we saw was LG, which I don’t think I can describe it as a booth, because the size of it is bigger than my house. LG had one of the nicest, biggest displays, and everywhere you turned, they were touting their 3D displays. The one that greeted us was huge! There is an opening in the middle, so you can compare how big that display was to those people in the opening.

Fruit Ninja game in 3D on an LG TV, and super thin OLED Samsung displays. I was really impressed by how thin the TVs were.

Hello Kitty made an appearance at CES! This was a life sized Hello Kitty, I guess to appeal to the handful of women at CES? This Sony crystal LED display is one of my favorites. I was satisfied with my current TV until I saw this. The colors were so vibrant that I thought it would just pop off the screen!

One of the reasons I wanted to visit CES was to look at the latest camera equipment. I got to test out the Nikon D4, which was just announced the week before CES. It is such a beautifully made camera and it focuses with lightning fast speed. No doubt that you will see sports photographers using it at the Olympics this summer. No sign of Ashton Kutcher, but instead they had these models posing with the new Nikon 1 mirrorless cameras.

Phone and tablet accessories filled up half of one convention hall we visited. There were hundreds of iPhone and iPad case manufacturers. You can get blinged out cases like these!

Then there was a car and audio convention hall. The Mercedes concept cars are neat, but the doors swing out too much to be practical.

So who else wants a fridge full of Jelly Bellies besides me?! There were a fair amount of other consumer electronics, like smart appliances and of course, robots.

And then there was strange stuff like an oxygen bar. Of course I had to try it out, but it was a little uncomfortable to be so close to strangers as you are breathing in flavored oxygen. I did feel different afterwards, but I’m not sure if I would pay money to just to breathe flavored oxygen. Also, the obligatory tourist photo to prove that I was there.

We didn’t see the whole trade show, there’s just too much to see, but we definitely had a great time!
