How to use FaceFilter3 – A Picture Tutorial

Hola Ladies!

I already told you about this fab tool I have been using since a couple of months, trust me it is magical. I mean it is definitely not the second photoshop but a much more better and professional photo editing tool.

But today I am going to be detailing out the features and usage of the FaceFilter3.

Here’s how the interface looks.

To begin with there are numerous features that FaceFilter3 has but I am going to show you the most intriguing and magical ones! I was blown away for sure after using these.

I will pick a normal regular picture from Google to try and test the various features.

Fitting option : It basically helps you tilt or fit the face right. It gives you the ability to rotate and fix all the features of the face, individually. I didn’t really use this feature yet, but I shall let you know once I do in my pictures.

Makeover option : This is my favorite option. It gives you the power to edit and beautify each and every feature of the face. Leave aside the feature it helps you to correct the foundation shade/skintone, make the lashes look fuller, contour and everything you desire.
Now I am not saying that we all need this, but this is just for enhancing and beautifying pictures and not for changing the whole of our appearance.

Reshape : One more magical feature. It helps you reshape the face both width wise and proportion wise, it also has different options for the male faces. This feature also gives you the option to have a facelift sans the pain :P Facelift has more functions like the young, scrunch ,confident and vitality. Isn’t it amazing.

Expression correction, helps you work with the expressions and accentuate them.

This feature has a lot of sub-features, you need to explore the software yourself, to get to know all of them.

Effects : Again a ton to choose from. B&W, Lomo, Sepia, Tone, Vignette. Each of these have further sub features and options to play with.

Not just this it has different editing options for DSLR and digital lens.

There are a gazillion other features that you can only explore once you use the FaceFilter3.

Ok, so the last post which will unveil the whole story about my ombre hair! Before everything, tell me what happens when you have a super spunky hair stylist and she speaks your mind while you are totally clueless what to do with your existing hair? I SHALL TELL YOU, you end up having the hair of your dreams, that’s exactly what happened with me.

So I walk in the salon after work to get a nice hair mask for my hair, and I wait for my stylist for the evening to turn up. As soon as she walks in my eyes take a deep look at her hair, she had candy floss pink and blue hair.  My heart sprung and I was sure that my hair are in the right hands. I mean come carrying candy floss hair is no jokes, I was beyond excited for my evening.

I sat down at the styling counter and opened my hair, I always get to hear “you have such thick hair” “you have a lot of hair to deal with” “your hair are completely damaged” “how many colors do you have in your hair” but this time it was different Jay squealed to re-do my hair color whereas I was booked in just for the hair treatment.

I couldn’t say NO.

She went ahead and asked me if I wanted a brighter gold or a subtle gold! I obviously said the brighter one. And then the conversation began we spoke about blogging, her piercings, her hair colors, my work, and everything below the sun! What happens when you have a super talented and friendly stylist? You get the hair of your dreams.

I have never got such a beautiful ombre done trust me when I say this. I mean I did try a couple of places to get the perfect ombre, but I was satisfied with Hairworks, I am customer for life!

It’s been a month now, and trust me my hair have not gone dry or brittle, Hairworks uses the best of products for hair treatments and hair colorings or processing.

After my hair color, I was blown away any way, but then came my treatment, which was the icing on the cake.

Jay suggested me the sublime luxury treatment. The treatment itself is composed of several oils to enrich the hair. , it starts with a cleansing shampoo in the same range then treat your hair with the oil masque and texturise after with the elixir oil. This masque is suitable for all hair types and the length of the treatment time depends on the severity of dryness in the hair and the thickness also.

I really liked the treatment, since it made my hair soft and shiny! Although it is just for a couple of days, but who doesn’t like nice and soft and shiny hair!

So do I recommend Hairworks, I would sing for it! :D

I am totally recommending it for people who are looking for some professional hair treatments and styling.

I am specifically advising all people who need hair color corrections and who are into bright pink and blue hair colors to try Hairworks and ask for Jay! She is one of the most graceful and talented hair stylists I have ever met, and I am looking forward to some time for a nice hair cut with her now! Shall update you guys on that!

Hairworks Jumeirah Beach Road – Products Available and Details

This is the second post I am doing for Hairworks and this shall encompass the various products they retail. Hairworks Jumeirah Beach Road, stocks a gazillion products, they carry all the ranges in Kerastase and Redken but as our Kerastase range is always expanding so I will concentrate on that. Hairworks specializes in diagnosing and treating the hair. They concentrate on the primary issue focusing on which range is needed. Nourishment is for dry hair, Reflective to give a healthy shine to coloured hair and the Resistance range for damaged hair.

Nourishment Range
This Range is nourishment for dry hair, the products cater to every type and thickness adding moisture dry hair.

Within this range we carry a heat activated system for those who blowdry their hair regularly. We offer this treatment in salon for 150Dhs in salon with hot towel treatment which activates the treatment to penetrate the hair allowing the treatment to enrich.

For those with massive volume and frizz we also have in the Nutritive range a treatment and bain to reduce that frizz leaving the hair smooth whilst moisturing hair.

Reflective Range
This range is for enchancing the Reflect on shine i.e shine. It even specializes in separate treatments for highlighted hair and coloured hair. It also has a cleansing shampoo for demanding colours which is foamless therefore the colour is not escaping when shampooed!

Resistance Range
I love this range as it is perfect if the primary issue is damaged hair. (Highlighted or over processed hair)

Specific Range

Treating all scalp problems from dandruff to hair loss and other conditions!

Their newest range and my Favorite has to be the Elixir Utime
This range is great for leaving even the driest hair soft smooth and shiny even after one try but of course all products should be used regularly to maintain healthy hair.

They also carry more intense treatments but for professional use in salon only . (Not for homecare)

A little more info on HAIRWORKS :

Hairworks salon opened in January 2013. They have three stylists with varied background and experience.

Zahira – Top Stylist
South African stylist with 9 years of experience in this field. Previously based at Hairworks JBR. Specializes in curly blow-drys and highlights as well as coloring and cuts and attaining shiny healthy hair.

Jay – Senior Stylist (Manager)
Irish Stylist who has worked in the hair Industry for more than 8 years. Senior stylist previously based in Ireland, England, Qatar and now UAE. Specialises in highlighting, colour corrections and hair upstyles and blowdrys. (Arabic hair as well as European hair)

Lyn – Senior Stylist
Scottish Stylist internationally trained with Steiner working with clients from all over the world. Specializes in styling with a flare for retro as well as modern styles. Also highlighting, colours, cuts and blowdrys.

Hello Ladies!

I have been away and far more than busy the past few months, there are a lot of things bubbling which I shall unveil soonish! But for now here is one of my coolest discoveries last month, Hairworks Jumeirah Beach Road.

So people who follow me on INSTAGRAM know that I got my already ombre hair, re-ombre’d at Hairworks Jumeirah Beach Road about a month ago , before I get started with how and what exactly Jay did for me, let me take you around the salon.

This is a long pending post, but trust me the whole experience is so fresh still in my head! Spotting Hairworks on the Jumeirah Beach Road, is as simple as picking your favorite macaroon :D ( I end up comparing any and every situation to macaroons and food, perils of a foodie!) If you love Jumeirah and visit the beach often it shouldn’t be tough to spot it. To be more precise it is just along the Palm Strip mall.

So as you enter the salon you see pleasant people welcoming you, a nice maintained stock of products lined along the walls (will give out deets on the products in the upcoming posts), a little sitting area and some nice magazines to read through now here I tick off the hygiene and “its-a-friendly” environment criteria.

Next, they have a very spacious and spanking clean hair treatment area with a load of products in there to glance at when your hair are getting revamped :D

The hair styling area, is lined with about 7-8 chairs and a few additional on the other side.

It is an easy go-to tool for me for correcting and professionalizing (if that’s even a word) pictures. It is not something to dope people with, I look at it as an enhancing tool something which has a solution to every correction I need, even if it means getting that little line or freckle or wrinkle off my pictures.

It has been my companion with each picture I have taken for the blog and even off the blog. It is my daily editing tool. And as bloggers or beauty bloggers to be specific we all know how much off these tools we need, to make those swatches more perfect and to get that eye makeup look a little more clearer and prominent.

Viva Beauty Awards is just around the corner, and I would certainly be attending it this year :D but before that let me declare my winners in each of the categories. These are products which I have been using day in and day out and I seriously feel some of these are such unsung heroes. Anyways let’s get on with it.

Best Perfume : Elie Saab Eau De Parfum Intense. Their latest launch, has some beauty fragrance notes, and an abstract combination of floral/fruity and musky scents. Deliciously delicate perfume.

Best Mascara : I swear by it, Clinique High Impact Extreme Volume Mascara is hands down my pick any day, after Benefit Cosmetics They’re Real. It is the blackest black mascara ever lengthens my lashes and makes them look fluttery full :D Read my complete review on the same HERE

Viva Beauty Awards 2013 – My Winners

Best Nail Polish : If you follow my INSTAGRAM , you would know I have fallen for the Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure range of nail enamels, I cant seem to stop loving them. They are creamy, opaque and dry super quick. They eradicated my hassels of applying a top coat and base coat and even a nail strengthener. My vote to these beauties.

Best Hair Salon : Again if you follow me on INSTAGRAM or like it through our FACEBOOK page HERE, you must be knowing that I have recently got my hair re-ombre’d (if that’s even a term :P) I loveeeeee HAIR WORKS at Jumeirah and my first visit to the salon just made me their loyalist, I have recommended it to a dozen women in a week’s time and please expect reviews on the same coming up. I love you Jay! :P Its an hidden treasure trust me go and unveil it yourself. Location details HERE

Best Anti Ageing Product: I need a couple of years more to embrace the gut anti ageing products, but I have been using the Clarins Double Serum for sometime now, I use it for 2 times a week. Although I am like 2 years (anti ageing products must be used ONLY after 25 years) far from being able to use anti ageing products I thought better start prevention then cure. What made me use this product was its ability to hydrate the skin, provide it with the required nutrition, oxygenation, protection and regeneration.

Best Hair Product : I swear by the Loccitane range of hair products, have been using them since 4 years now. My ultimate favorite is Loccitane Eclat & Soin Couleur / Radiance and Colour Care hair mask. It is a magical product. I have always had colored hair (atleast after getting out of high school for the last 5 years ) and hence I do try to makeup for all the torture I make my hair go through by using premium hair care products and services. Loccitane Eclat & Soin Couleur hair mask has been my FAVORITE for over a year now.

Best Face Moisturizer : Guerlain Blanc De Perle Day Care Treatment for the face. It is one of my most used hydrating product over the past 6 months and it has the ability to keep my t-zone grimace free even through the day in this scorching Dubai summers (which is yet to come, sigh!)

Best Lipstick : Couldn’t pick one! I love Bobbi Brown beauty products , and their lipsticks have been my cult favorites and before discovering Bobbi Brown I have had a love affair with MAC lipsticks which I continue to LOVVVEE!

Best Body Product : Gazillions of them. But at the moment , I loving the DOVE Visible Effects Nourishing Body Lotion. It smells amazing and makes my body skin super soft and hydrated!

Anyways, presenting to you the next set of swatches! These are the Bobbi Brown Creamy Lip Color swatches. I have reviewed the creamy matte ones which are almost similar to this range HERE and HERE

Bobbi Brown Creamy Lip Color

Product Claims :
Creamy Lip Color combines rich color with comfortable, long-lasting wear and a soft, creamy shine. With emollient shea butter and plant-derived skin conditioners, this amazing formula glides on smooth, wears all day, and leaves lips soft and moisturized.

I am guessing these also fall in the same price bracket as the creamy matte ones, i.e 140 AED

Bobbi Brown Creamy Lip Color

Personally while swatching I could conclude that these lipsticks are opaque and uber creamy. Just like they look here, they are superbly moisturizing and hydrating too.

The pigmentation of the lipsticks is super gorgeous. There were just 7 shades available at The Bobbi Brown store in The Dubai Mall.

I have already reviewed this gorgeous product by Bobbi Brown HERE, today I am sharing 10 Bobbi Brown Corrector Swatches.

The price of the product is 133 AED, I am not sure if the price has increased now.

Product Claims :
A wake-up call for tired eyes. Corrector is pink- or peach-based to neutralise under-eye darkness and is designed to be used before Creamy Concealer. New and improved formula is long-wearing and brightens dark circles with quick, just-right coverage that’s easy to blend and won’t crease. And since great makeup starts with healthy skin, Corrector is infused with skin conditioners to protect the delicate under-eye area.

In my honest opinion, this is a great product for correcting redness and grayness on the skin.

Project “Swatch It” : 10 Bobbi Brown Face Touch Up Stick Swatches

There are quite a few things which are worrying me at the moment, the prime being the end of the weekend ( I am so not looking forward to this week), the weather ( I hate wet and dull weather), the amount of work I need to get done, lastly and the most important concern for me at the moment is shifting the house! House shifting can be a beauty bloggers, worst nightmare, like WORST! Anyways, keeping everything aside, here are the 10 Bobbi Brown Face Touch Up Stick swatches.

I am guessing they retail in the 180-210 aed range, I may be wrong since I haven’t used these yet, but while swatching I found them extremely creamy and soft, they had a full coverage and they blended like a dream, pretty “desirable” right?

I am not sure about it suiting all skin types since they have a dewy finish and also look highly emollient and creamy, I am assuming OILY skin types won’t really like these. I also felt strongly that these would double as a great foundation as well. They have all qualities of a good foundation though :)

But may be some day I may review these for you all. SOMEDAY!!!

Here is the next post in our “Swatch It” project. I have reviewed the Bobbi Brown Tinted Eye Brightener HERE , and today I am giving you the swatches of the product. The website shows 10 shades of this product but the Bobbi Brown Store in The Dubai Mall, had 5 shades available.
