I've been wanting to update my crafty blog more often with my Project Life album that I am working on this year. Here's an 8.5x11 layout I just finished (literally) in Photoshop for this week's insert - my FIRST 12 on the Twelfth. With today being a Tuesday, I didn't have many exciting things to take a picture of, but I made it work and I think it really captures the day I had. I think it will be neat to see how I can change this up each month.

Birthday Lucy Card

Happy Birthday to my sister, Holly! As you can see in the pic below, she's blonde headed so I decided to color Lucy to match! :) I had so much fun coloring her that that's all I got done Friday night when Holly came over to scrap with me!

The stamp image is from C.C. Designs - Birthday Lucy, colored with Copic markers and cut out with a Spellbinders oval die. The patterned papers on the card front are both from the AC Dear Lizzy Neapolitan 6x6 paper pad.

For the inside of the card, the ice cream cones are also from the AC Dear Lizzy Neapolitan 6x6 paper pad and the pink and green crossed wallpaper paper is from Basic Grey's Olivia 6x6 pad. The balloon element is also from the Neapolitan collection. The banner stamp is from Unity Stamp Co. The cursive HB sentiment is from There She Goes and the other is also from Unity.

I love the fun colors. Although mine is not as colorful, it's still the same idea and now all my polishes are up, out of the way, and at the same time, out on display for me to clearly see what I have.

I found this spice rack at a flea market from a guy who makes them - I'm not crazy about the southwest trim (the shelf is actually flipped upside down which makes the trim less noticeable), but I just COULD NOT find an older spice rack ANYWHERE for a cheap price. This one was stained, so I just put it up on the wall as is. I figure it's in my closet, so who cares what color it is and I can always change it later. It's actually hanging on a blank outlet cover, but I'll probably go back and add nails so it doesn't come crashing down on me some day! :)

Side note: in looking through my nail polish collection, I was surprised to see that the majority of them were made in the USA - I ♥ that!

Updates - 2012

Well I'm finally in my new craft room - never thought I would move spaces, but it seems to be working out so far - and I'm ~~making a total mess of it~~ in the creative zone! I have a lot of plans of projects to do, but it's always hard to find time to do them all! (I know I'm not alone here!) I just can't seem to find the time to update this blog like I would like - I run another blog - about books and what I'm reading that I update more regularly. But I'm hoping to continually update this blog with pictures of my latest scrappy projects as well.

So what have I actually been working on?
I have decided to start Project Life for 2012 - I have a few weeks to catch up on - and I really want to finish my scrapbook of our trip to Florida last May. I'm on the home stretch and while I'm having a blast creating the pages, I can't wait to close the FINISHED album!

Halloween Card #1

Halloween is in the air...

Does that mean it smells like smelly feet?!? ...I don't know about you, but I'm smelling CANDY CANDY CANDY!! =)

My first attempt at blending with Prisma Pencils...

Card front

Card Base: 4.25"x11" scored at 5.5". I used Papertrey Ink's Summer Sunrise.

Then I cut my mat at 4"x5.25" using Pink Paislee's Phantom collection.

Other papers are from Fancy Pants - Oct 31 collection.

Stamp image: C.C. Designs Love Lolita Pumpkin Rubber Stamp

Stamped on Papertrey Ink White Cardstock with Momento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with Prisma Pencils, blended with Odorless Mineral Spirits. Then I cut out the image using a Spellbinders die from the Small Ovals pack.

Simple Scrapping

This layout idea comes from Shimelle's Scrapbooking Starting Points.

For this layout I used scraps I had on my desk, all except the pink polka background. I didn't cut anything. All I had to do was tape it all down! Simple! I ♥ it!

Endeavour Layout

Even though the Endeavour Space Shuttle didn't go to the Moon, the paper seemed to speak otherwise! :) There was no paper that said "to the International Space Station"...at least not that I could find...

Bloopers: I was SO excited to FINALLY use my i-rock and stencil for the blast coming out of the rockets...well first I couldn't get it to turn on and then I couldn't find my rhinestones...so I ended up using some self-adhesive rhinestones after using the stencil and marking a dot where each one needed to go...took WAY TOO long to do, but I like the results!

Our Trip to Space!

I have finally gotten back into the swing of finishing layouts this weekend and am so stoked! I finished 10!! They are all from our recent trip (in May) to the Kennedy Space Center near Orlando, Florida. We were there just days before Endeavour launched, so we got to see it still on its pad site.

For this double 12x12 layout, I wanted to highlight the map we received at the Kennedy Space Center and I have drawn on it the path we took and what we did. I love having maps included in my scrapbooks so I can go back later and follow our footsteps.

Quick Wedding Card

Just a easy, cute card for a friend's wedding.

Using a white PTI card stock base, I stamped The Gretting Farm's Cake Topper image and colored it in with my copics. Cut that and the scalloped circle out with Spellbinders dies with my Cuttlebug and added the matching TGF sentiment.

Done and done...

My Sad Sad Gypsy...

Well, my Gypsy has been kaput for a few months now, and since the customer service is only open when I'm also working, well, I just got a chance to call them last Friday afternoon. And might I add I was on hold for 2 hours!! (I had to call twice!! They were super nice though! :) ) My screen was coming up with Code 2 FATAL ERROR!! or something completely tragic like that...

So it's off for a replacement...hopefully they won't have any issues getting my cartridges to link to the new one!!

Welcome from The Greeting Farm Anniversary Blog Hop! I am brand new to The Greeting Farm stamps as well as Copic markers, but I definitely had fun with Chelsea, from the Wild Sprouts collection. Gotta love the bling! I can already feel my collection growing! Be sure to check out the entire hop - I know that's where I'm headed!

Which Team Are You On?

So I just got my The Greeting Farm stamps in today! I'm so excited and have already put together a tag. I ordered the Wild Sprouts - Collection I set as well as the new Edward and Eric stamps. I have a few more coming with my 7kidscollegefund order. They are a little bit cheaper on there, but don't have all the stamps. I don't have copics yet (on their way!!), so I colored in the Edward and Eric aka Edward and JACOB images with Crayola colored pencils. I love how Edward's hair turned out! I used the "Wicked" stamp from the Wild Sprouts set as well as Tattered Angels Glimmer Mists - Raven and Haunted Shadows. Edward's skin also got a little SPARKLE! Jacob's 'Hot' Stamp is also from the Wild Sprouts set. I added foam tape to the back of the cut out images and added them to some of my coffee-dyed tags! I love them both!

Twilight Teeth?

It used to be the bling bling on the grill, but not any longer! Today’s teenagers are trading the bling in for fangs. If your teenager wanted vampire teeth, would you let her/him get them?? I saw this on the Dallas news this morning…a 16 year old Twihard getting vampire teeth, albeit fake ones (thank goodness!!), but still, you know that’s not covered on the insurance policy, so would you actually pay to get fake vampire teeth? The dentist says the composite probably won’t stay attached long and that they refused several requests to sharpen actual canine teeth (yikes!!). I guess it sounds fun, if painful, but I know I wouldn’t do it…she says she loves Edward…ummm, honey, I love Edward too, but Edward’s not real…but it still makes for an interesting news piece! :-E

So SUPER excited about Papertrey Ink's July Release!

I found out on some of the Papertrey Ink's designer's blogs that the July release are going to have some super cute designs. Anyone that knows anything about me, knows I love to read and collect books! So the All Booked Up collection is a definite purchase from me! There is a new bookplate die as well as a bookmark. And I LOVE the stamp that says "This is where I fell asleep" because that is SOOO true for me!

I'm also digging the library card stamp and die. I just purchased the library card set from Close to My Heart, so I'm wondering if they are about the same size. Another new set that caught my eye is Just the Ticket. There is a new ticket strip die, and I'm wondering if it is the same size as the new Tim Holtz one. I've been putting off placing an order from them (the last time was over a year ago!) just because I absolutely love ALL their stuff, but I don't think I can resist this time! Now, if only I didn't have to wait until Thursday!

Hoot Hoot Hooray! Hoooo's Having a Birthday?

Ingredients:

Straight from the Nest Cricut Cartridge (Owl cut @ 1.5" - Page 30, Hoot Hoot Hooray Phrase (Cupcake Phrase Button - Cut @ 1.25"- Page 60)
Card Base - Papertrey Ink
Card Mat - DCWV - Flower Stack
Hampton Art Stamp Set - Who Loves You
PaperStudio 4X6 paper pad - 1 of each -white, orange, blue, hot pink

Recipe:

After scoring the card base for an A2 card (8.5" x 5.5" paper folded in half for 4.25" x 5.5" A2 card), I attached the mat (cut @ 4" x 5.25") to the card base and taped some orange ribbon around it. I then cut all the pieces to the owl at 1.5" and the Hoot Hoot Hooray phrase, which is on the cupcake, at 1.25". For the inside, both stamps are from the Who Loves You set by Hampton Art and colored in the tree trunk and owl in with colored pencils. A very simple card that I sent along in an envelope with a book from my cousin's birthday. I just can't wait until she sees her surprise!

Birdie Recipe:
This is a very simple birthday card I made for my future mother-in-law. I simply took a sheet of 4x6 paper from a stack, folded it in half and then added the cute little birdie from the Straight from the Nest cartridge.

Birdie Enhancements - I embossed the bird's body with the Cuttlebug Swiss Dots embossing folder and added some glitter bling to his birthday hat!

Straight From the Nest Baby Shower Card

For a friend's baby shower:

For the baby's clothes line, I cut out the clothes 3 times so I could have 3 onesies. The baby room's colors are hot pink, zebra, and black and white polka dots. I stamped the onesies, and then used UTEE twice to get a shiny thick coat. For the flowers, I glued on flower buttons. The blue background paper was embossed with the Cuttlebug Swirls folder.

I handmade the envelope 6.25"x6.25" using my "Ultimate Crafter's Companion."

Halloween Cards - Cricut Paperdoll Dress Up

Card #1 - Cricut Home Accents, Cuttlebug Embossing, & Autumn Leaves Stamps

The card is made from a 4x8 cardstock folded in half.

I made the front of this card with the Cricut Home Accents cartridge. I cut the Love image at 3 inches and the butterfly accent also at 3 inches.

I decided that I was going to give this card to my mom, so I included giraffes on the top insert since she likes them so much, plus they're really cute. These stamps are from the Autumn Leaves Mindy's Zoo collection. The inks are: Papertrey Ink - Dark Chocolate, VersaMagic - Aegean Blue and Purple Hydrangea.

The bottom insert I used the Cuttlebug Birds and Swirls A2 embossing folder on a 3.5x3.5 inch square. I then inked the embossed image with the purple hydrangea chalk ink. Lastly, I added accents with a silver marker.
