Don’t know what to get the special someone in your life for Valentine’s Day? How about this- Say Please has adorable love notes with a heartwarming message on one side and a fun little factoid on the other. I am so happy I found these. For a couple years now, I have been giving my kids and Husband little notes just to let them know that I love them and am thinking of them. Say Please cards are helping me step up my game.

Say Please was created when friends and moms Judi Willard and Mary Fuller felt a need for note cards with positive and suitable messages. Though they had seen similar products, they did not have the style of messages that they were looking for. For my review, I received the Say Please Lunchbox Love for Valentine’s Day,  Kids (Vol. 1), and Loved Ones. I just love these cards. They have a cute design, a special messages and the factoid is fun and educational. I put them in my kid’s backpacks, my Husband’s lunch box and left them on the bathroom mirror. Life is stressful, these simple little cards help us stop for a moment and let our loved ones know just how special they are to us and that we are thinking of them.

One of my favorite cards in the Valentine’s Day collection says “Happy Valentine’s Day!” on one side and “Did you know? An elephant’s skin is so sensitive that it can feel a fly landing on it.” on the other side. Fun, right!

I recently received a variety of products from nyx cosmetics for review and I thought it would be way too much to put them all into one post so you’ll see a few different nyx makeup reviews in the future. I want to start with their foundations. I wasn’t able to get photos of the foundations on me because my camera wouldn’t really pick it up. I received two, a hd studio photogenic grinding powder and a stay matte but not flat powder foundation. The powder foundation includes a spongy pad that can be used to apply the makeup and I found that it works really well at applying which I was pleasantly surprised at. I got this foundation in ivory which matches my skin really well even though I usually get light foundation instead of ivory. It goes on light and smooth and I forget that I even have it on. When my skin is really dry, it does highlight the dry areas but when I keep up with using a good moisturizing it looks great and not cakey at all. The lid includes a mirror that does a great job of staying really clear and not getting covered in makeup which I love. This powder retails for 9.50 and is available in 15 shades.

I got the grinding powder is soft beige and it matched my skin well also. I really like this product because it’s really easy to get as much makeup as you want, seems how you control how much you grind. When I use loose powders I often get too much on my makeup brush so this gets rid of that problem. It also means that the makeup is always freshly ground. Even when my skin is dry, it doesn’t create a cakey or built up appearance. Like the loose powder, the nyx grinding powder feels light and I forget that I even have it on. I really like both products but I would say that I slightly prefer the grinding powder because it makes my skin look smooth even when its dry. The grinding powder retails for 25.00 and is available in 6 shades.

Recess Music has won many awards for kid’s music with an Earth-friendly tune. La Bella Stella is making its debut just in time for Earth Day. La Bella Stella is fifth in the “Celebrate Earth” CD series.

La Bella Stella is out of this world. It is a fun “kids” CD with 15 songs that take you on a magical journey though discoveries of amazing things on Earth, to the wonders of our universe, exploration into other galaxies, and spectacular findings in our solar system. The songs were beautifully written to encourage the imaginations of four to eleven year olds.

The first song, “Nature’s Lullaby,” was our favorite! This is a fun song, with a great tune and playful lyrics. We just love how it walks you through the sounds of nature that seem to really come to life at night…the sounds of crickets chirping, mosquitos buzzing, frog croaking, and the warm summer breeze rustlings through the trees and  grass. I can totally see us taking this CD camping with us and all the kiddos dancing to it around the camp site.

When a loved one is disabled, or becomes disabled with age, it can be difficult to find a balance between the persons independence and their safety. Particularly with the elderly, it can be hard for them to accept that they are no longer able to simply get in the car and go, like they were used to doing for so many years. If they become reliant on a wheelchair, it can be really difficult to get the person in and out of a car. A while back EdenFantasys started carrying beauty items including lips makeup, makeup kits and more. I decided to try out their mineral beauty bronzer because I hadn’t yet found a bronzer that worked very well for me. The bronzer includes streaks of various shades and can be applied in layers to create a variety of shades. I was really impressed with how HUGE the container of bronzer is. It’s bigger than the palm of my hand so it’s definitely a lot of product which is nice. I have tried applying this with various makeup brushes that I have and I would recommend trying different tools because depending on how much product your tool picks up, it can alter how lightly the bronzer will apply on the first layer. I have fair to light skin and wasn’t able to get the bronzer as light as I wanted using the tools that I have. However, I was able to combine this with some product I have that is too light for me and it mixes into a shade that works well for me. However, for anyone who has light to medium skin or darker, this would most likely work for you because it can go from light to pretty dark if you apply it heavily. I also plan to experiment with smaller tools. Seems how the bronzer has stripes of shades, I would like to use a thin brush to see if I can pick up only the lighter tint to see if doing that will allow for a lighter bronzer to be used.

Blog conference season is here again! I haven’t had a chance to get to a blog conference yet, but hopefully I will before the year is out. Last year I got to go on a media tour to ohio, where I met with other bloggers. I had business cards made soon after I started my blog, but I had changed my URL and blog name since having the cards made, so I didn’t take them with me. I felt a bit silly for not having business cards once I was there and all the bloggers were exchanging cards. If you go to a “real” blogging conference then business cards are simply a must. I haven’t got to try out the tiny prints business cards yet, but I have seen their address labels and other products and have always been impressed with their quality and would feel really safe ordering any product from them. If you aren’t heading off to a blogging conference, business cards could still come in handy if you ever ship products out from your blog, meet bloggers in person or have friends or family members who you could tell about your blog by offering them a business card. I’m sure there are plenty of other uses for business cards for your blog. I’m going to get some tinyprints business cards, and hopefully i’ll find a blogging conference to use them at. I’d love to make it to reviewers retreat or blogher this year. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see!
