Share-in: Easily share photos taken at your check-ins.

Hi, all

We are pleased to announce that this week we released another app for iOS, called Share-in.

Share-in displays photos taken by the camera of your iPhone / iPod Touch / iPad during your check-ins on Foursquare, grouped by check-in. Along with the photos, is also displayed all your friends who were with you at that location. This information, in turn, make it easier the sharing of photos, once you know beforehand which of your friends were there with you.

Photos can be shared via Email, Message, Twitter and Facebook. Alternatively, photos can be stored in your Dropbox account, rather than attached to an email, for example. The advantages of using Dropbox are sharing speed and space saving, since only a link to the photos will be sent to your friends. This link, in turn, points to a beautiful photo gallery, where your friends can browse through or even download them.

Besides the way of sending, you can also set the size of photos to be shared. It is worth mentioning that larger the size, more detail the photo will have. However, larger will be the size of your file, which could impact on your sending time, depending on the speed of Internet connection used.

Share-in is now available on the App Store for free.

Let's sell some stocks

Hi, all

We would like to announce that M-Stocks v2.2.0 has been released on the Apple Store. This update is focused mainly on the Portfolio Manager, which brings important features requested by our users for a long time: Selling of shares.

This new feature consists of a selling simulation of your portfolios's shares. In the portfolio, you input the number of shares you want to sell, sell price and date. Once the operation is done, that number of shares will be subtracted and shifted from your Invested portfolio to a new portfolio's area we name Realized. So, for all your portfolios you will also be able to track the performace of your invested and realized stocks. Cool, huh?!

Continuing with the Portfolio, we have also added a new field named Brokerage Fee, which is a fix fee charged by the brokers to perform buy/sell operations. This is another very requested feature from our users. In addition, we have also improved the usability of all Portfolio's screens. Hopefully, you guys enjoy it!

Following with the news in this update, we have also added new ways of sharing quotes and charts. Besides Facebook, now you can also share via Twitter, E-mail and Message (SMS or iMessage).

You will also find new indexies available in the Markets screen, such as PSEI (Philippine), ISEQ (Ireland), TSX (Canada) and SSE (Chile). On the other hand, IBEX (Spain) has been removed, because our data provider is no longer supporting it.

In terms of currencies, we have added Philippine and Peru Peso.

Besides all these news mentioned above, you will find the app pretty much stable now, since we have fixed an annoying bug that was crashing the app.

Now with Instagram

Hi, all

Yesterday, we released a new version (1.2.0) of our app for Marillion's fans: marillion. As usual in our updates, this new version comes with great new features, improvements and bug fixes.

The most important news in this update is an integration into the most famous photo-sharing social network: Instagram. Now, the fans will follow and view all photos about Marillion that are shared in the social network. Besides displaying the photos, case the fan has Intagram app installed, he/she will be able to start Instagram's camera or view a photo in the app itself. Cool, huh?

Other great feature available in this update is Top Songs. It is a ranking that displays the songs the fans like and love the most. The ranking's order is based on the fans' feeback throught the like and love options available for each song. Is your favorite song not in Top Songs? Go forward and like/love it!

First iPad app

Hi, all

Yesterday was a great day for us at eMob Tech: we have finally released our first iPad app.

It was a great challenge to turn our financial app, M-Stocks, into an universal app, which is now adapted to run on the 9.7" display of the iPad, taking advantage of all extra pixels available.

We say it was a challenge, because is not easy to rearrange an interface designed to a smaller screen (3.5 or 4" from the iPhone), to a bigger one, where there are more space available, offering an opportunity to provide more information to the user. In addition, using an app on the iPad is a complete different experience in terms of usability.

We hope everebody enjoy this update as we do. M-Stocks is now live on the App Store and for free.

Ready for iPhone 5

Hi, all

After Apple's event last month, where they announced the release of iOS 6 and the new iPhone 5, we have had much work at eMob Tech. A new operating system and screen size (4") of the iPhone demanded to developers an extra effort to get their apps ready to run on these new enviroments.

During this month of October, we worked hard to update our apps as quick as possible. And we made it! Both M-Stocks and Marillion apps now support iOS 6 and the 4" display of the iPhone 5.

They look cool on the larger screen, by the way.

Fortunately, the work to adapt to the new screen size was not that big, since our apps are pretty much based on UIKit, so the autosizing maks worked preatty well for this matter. On the other hand, there were some annoying bugs on iOS 6 that were hard to fix. But in the end, everything worked properly.

M-Stocks for iOS: Backup & Sync

Hi, all

Today, I am pleased to announce one more update of M-Stocks for iOS. This is a very interesting update, because it was focused on a common request by our users: data backup. Our users were concerned on keeping their data safe, so we decided to focus on it in this new update.

M-Stocks for iOS v2.1 introduces a data backup feature which works integrated to Dropbox. It means your data will be saved in a specific folder in your Dropbox account. It is important to point out that M-Stocks does not have access to all your files in your account, but just a specific folder (i.e. "/Apps/M-Stocks") dedicated to the app.

For those who do not have a Dropbox account, you can get one for free here.

To enable data backup in M-Stocks, you just need to connect the app to your account by signing in to Dropbox. From this point on, the backup will be performed in background or when you manually request it.

Besides the backup feature, we decided implement one more thing: Data Sync*. It works together with backup, but it enables the possibility to share the same data among other devices. It means that once you connect M-Stocks to your Dropbox account from all your devices, their data will be synced. For instance, when you add a new portfolio in your iPhone, it will also be available automatically in your iPad and/or iPod Touch.

M-Stocks backups and syncs Markets, Stocks, Currencies, Portfolio and Quotes Attributes.

In this update you will also find some bug fixes and other minor improvements.

M-Stocks v2.0 for iOS

Hi, all

I am pleased to announce a new milestone in M-Stocks' history: the brand new version 2.0 for iOS. This version comes with great news that our users will enjoy a lot.

One of the greatest news in v2.0 is the new user interface that now is ready for Retina Display, introduced from iPhone 4. New graphics, color scheme and some changes in the screens's layout comprise this package.

Other good news, which was often requested by the users in their reviews and feedbacks, is the support to multiple portfolios. Now, the users can create more than one portfolio, which will improve their stocks management.

Offline usage is algo a good news. We implemented a mechanism of smart cache in M-Stocks v2.0 that will dramatically reduce the network access, which means less data transfer. It impacts in less costs for users' data plan and a higher battery life. In addition, because of smart cache, the app also looks much faster.

It is also very important to point out that now M-Stocks requires iOS 5 or higher. Unfortunately, we have to follow iOS's evolution. I believe it is not going be a big issue, since Apple stated, at WWDC 2012, that now 85% of iOS users are running on its fifth version. In any event, we appologize to our users that are still running on older versions. I wish to see you in a last generation iOS device very soon.

You will find other improvements in v2.0 as soon as you install it. This version is being really important for us. Stay tuned for other great news in the following version. We are already working on that. :)

Windows Phone in Hand

Hi, all

Yesterday I received a valuable new asset for eMob Tech: a Nokia Lumia 800, powered by Windows Phone 7.5 (Mango). A first look at it, what a great design and lightweight! When you fire it up, it also looks fantastic.

The Metro interfaces developed by Microsoft is very curious (and different of anything else) at first look, but you get used really fast. There is no concept of windows (ironic, huh?). The whole system and apps seems to be positioned in a really big screen, on which you navigate through easily swiping from the left to the right and vice-versa. It remembers the navigation system present in the Playstation 3.

During the next week I will give my iPhone (don't worry, I'll be back!) some rest, so I can try Windows Phone out. Let's see how this system behaves along the week with my routine tasks (e-mail, alarms, web, social, games, etc).

Who knows a new platform will be incorporated by eMob Tech for future projects. Let's see what happens.

I purchased their iOS 5 by tutorials and I am very satisfied. My apps now are much better than before.

M-Stocks App 1.6 for iOS

Hi, all

Today, a new version (1.6) of M-Stocks App for iOS has been released. As usual, it comes with great new features, improvements, and fixes for all our users.

The main new feature is the possibility to customize the Quote view, by adding new attributes available from this version, besides reorder them in the screen, according to user's relevance criteria.

Other good news from v1.6 is the new feature that allows the user to perform exchange conversions, in order to know the price of a certain amount in a foreign currency. For instance, very useful during trips.

By the way, this feature was a suggested by one of our users. Thanks!

eMob Tech at iOS 5 Tech Talk in SP

Hi, all

Yesterday (9th) was a great day! It was the day of iOS 5 Tech Talk World Tour in São Paulo, Brazil. The first official Apple's Developer Conference in Brazil. A total of 9 cities around the world hosted this event, since November 2011.

It was a great opportunity to watch lectures (18) presented by Apple's engineers, besides talking to other iOS developers and exchange experience. The lectures were about many iOS topics, e.g., iCloud, UX, AV Foundation, Location, iBooks, UIKit, etc. In addition, there was a Lab room, where developers could meet Apple's engineers to clarify some doubts about any pertinent topic.

We, from eMob Tech, were there and it was really worth!

Look forward for the next iOS event in Brazil.

M-Stocks App v1.5 for iOS

Hi, all

Last friday (6th), a new version (1.5) of M-Stocks App for iOS was released. This new release - as usual - comes with great new features and fixes for all our users.

The main new feature is Charts View, which allows tracking of stocks using charts in many periods, e.g., one day, 5 days, 1 month, 1 year, etc.

See below whatelse you can find on v1.5:

- More charts (1 day, 5 days, 3 months and 1 year)
- Support to landscape view for charts
- UI improvements
- Bug fixes
- In-App purchase of charts in other periods

It is also important to point out that v1.5 is now translated to Spanish. So, all our users from Spain, Latin America and many other countries around the world will be able to track their stocks in their native language. New languages will come in the next versions.

eMob Tech & Soundtracker

Yesterday, we announced via our account on Twitter (@emobtech) that eMob Tech and Soundtracker are working together. For those who do not know Sountracker, it is the first geosocial music service for smartphones and the web. There are over 10 millions songs to listen for free.

Users can tune into the music their friends are listening to, find out where they're listening, and geo-tag songs to real world locations for other people to discover.

eMob Tech has worked on the development and tests, in order to maintain (bug fixing) and evolve (new features) their mobile version for Nokia devices (S40, S60, S^3, Anna and Belle).

Soundtracker is available for many platforms, e.g., iOS, Android, Windows Phone, Nokia, Bada, etc. So, there is no excuse for not trying out Soundtracker.

TwAPIme for Android: 100% open source

Last friday, eMob Tech launched a new app for Android platform: TwAPIme. It is an open source Twitter client powered by Twitter API ME project. The idea behind this project is to provide to Twitter API ME developers, one more channel of learning. Developers will be able to see and learn how the API's features are implemented in a real and professional app.

End users are also welcome to enjoy TwAPIme.

See below the list of functionalities:

* Home, Mentions, DM and List timelines.
* Post, reply and comment tweet.
* Retweet.
* Send Direct Message.
* Favorite tweet.
* User profile management.
* Friends and Followers management (follow/block).

TwAPIme's source code is FREE ONLY for NON-commercial purposes. TwStreet: Check out the Traffic

A couple of weeks ago, eMob Tech released a new app called, TwStreet.

TwStreet collects, consolidates and displays tweets (Twitter messages) in real time, from people on the streets sharing what they find, on events in the traffic (e.g. traffic jam, accident, etc.). The goal is to help other people avoid some setbacks, and then arrive at their destinations faster.

The app obtains information through the search of tweets sent by specific or personal accounts created by users, which are intended to share everything that happens in traffic, with his followers.

Based on that, TwStreet provides a tool, whose content is created by the users, regardless of whether or not they use it. Because everything is on Twitter! TwStreet here to add this great community.

TwStreet is currently available only for Android devices, powered by Android OS 1.6 or higher. The app is FREE and is available in Android Market.

M-Stocks App 1.3 for iOS: Now with Charts!

Two weeks ago eMob Tech and M-Stocks App released a new version of their financial app: M-Stocks App. This new version comes with good news and some bug fixes. As the major new feature: Charts. It is the great star of this new version. The chart presents the variations of the day for a given symbol. In the weekends, a 5-days chart is presented in place.

Regarding fixes, the network access is faster and more stable. No more hangs during low signal periods. In addition, the app is also caching data, in order to reduce the access to Internet. All these improvements on network stability is due to ASIHTTPRequest library. The network layer is now underlies on this great library.

Other new features found in v1.3:

- New Portfolio field: % Tax to Pay
- Portfolio summary
- UI Improvements
- Disconnect/Reconnect from Facebook

Other news in v1.3 is the possibility to remove the advertisement banner. It was implemented an In-App Purchase that allows to remove the ad that is presented at the bottom of the screen. Once you purchase it, the ads are vanished from the app forever.

Very eventful week. This week, eMob Tech released three good news for mobile developers: a new version of Twitter API ME, the new project Facebook API ME and TwAPIme for Android.

We worked for a long time on those projects to get them done this week, by concluding all the tests.

TwAPIme for Android is a great opportunity for developers to learn about Twitter API ME and Android development. This is a fully open source project that you can download right now.

iOS Platform Lecture

Hi, all

Yesterday, at Fanor, a college from Devry group, here in Fortaleza/Brazil, I lectured on iOS Platform for over 100 Computer Science students. It was a very nice talk, as always happen when the subject is mobility. This field is really interesting and everybody likes to hear about.

Our agenda was quite varied. We talked about iOS world, history, devices, SDK, App Store, mobile market, how to make money, etc. It was a very informative lecture, so the students could have a good overview of iOS and mobile market.
