Two Year Old Prediction on iPhone

Kinda weird but exactly two years ago I presented a scenario where iPhone could become a one person film/news crew. That was before the app stores, before video, before I knew much shit about the phone. With the new 3Gs iPhone, don’t you think you could do all of that, and more?

The new 3Gs will let anyone make and break news, create and share more content. And yes, expect to see in the coming months; iPhone music videos, iPhone short films -feature if you dare - and iPhone reporting.

I’ll make my video related prediction - iPhone video editing platforms, much like how apps like Camerabag and Photo FX have been taking what’s captured by the camera and converting them. Expect these to emerge within this year. I wouldn’t be surprised if Apple made a default app that looks a lot like a stripped down version of iMovie. Expect a new shift in how video is created and streamed.

It’s all good. Now, when can we use iPhone to buy sodas from vending machines?

Embracing Video

A good photographer tries to tell stories in single frames. When such a photographer embraces video, the results can be stunning. NY Times photographer Chang W. Lee shot this beautiful piece called ‘The Jazz Singer‘ (part of a series). Chang Lee’s videos however have this hypnotic quality like I haven’t seen done with the beloved Mark II. Wikipedia says it’s

Creep is more severe in materials that are subjected to heat for long periods, and near the melting point. Creep always increases with temperature.”

Substitute ’solid material’ with ‘person’ and the metaphors will kick in.

We all relate to that word in our own ways. And that Radiohead song becomes our soundtrack when we do. Why make a general statement like that? Because no matter who covers this and no matter where it’s played, the audience response is almost always like this.

Laughter works miracles. Since last night I have been pretty pissed over something - I may have overreacted a little - and that lead me to toss and turn in bed till late night. Not good. But this morning when I read this this post a friend sent me, it pushed me into a series of giggle fits and guess what…no angrymon! Yah man! I can face this Toosday without an inverted smile and furrowed brows. D0wj with crows feet! Lifting spirits is more important than lifting weights. Because I have lots of money to spare (I don’t) I’ve launched a photography dedicated blog. It will have nice, big pictures about many things this life has to offer. I want to say it’s also my portfolio, but that word scares and disgusts me at the same time. Where will I go with photography? Only time will tell, but I am finding myself wrapped in more projects than I’d ever imagined I’d be. So, call it a good start and move on.

If you like what I see but not so much what I say then this is the one to subscribe to. If you like neither, why are you even reading this you loser?
