Bart got his signature deck, so why not Homer? He was the one who tried to jump Springfield Gorge anyway.

So, there have been quite a few Simpsons’ releases of this nature over the past year or so. That doesn’t make this one any less rad. Limited edition, the art is inspired by Jim Phillips ‘Rob Roskopp Face’ graphic. It can be bought as a deck or a full set up.

Element Wolfboro Jacket

It was about 3 degrees in Victoria on Sunday, can’t even joke about it – it was just cold. The fortunate thing about that (and the fact I do actually check my emails) is I came across one from Element Australia informing us that they have 10 of their industrial heaters to give away.

Taaffe once again comes thru with some advertising gold. All these are of Occy from the 80′s and 90′s with some classics in there like the Peak naked one and the Billabong fluro one where Occy looks about 15. Glorious. Ads used to be so fun….

Tigerlily Spring ’12 :: Villa Maroc

Tigerlily told us something over the weekend and it went a little something like this:

Raen’s Savoye

After talking about the Church Squire last week, I spent some time sniffing around the Raen site and fell in love with the Savoye. I’m a sucker for a thinner frame with simple curves and this shade takes the cake for it right now.

Sergio Rossi Denim Oxford Shoe

This shoe is dreamy, I wouldn’t wear it, but I think it’s awesome. A brilliant mix of color and material makes it like a car crash, you shouldn’t look but you can’t not.

The use of raw denim is neat, it’ll be pretty rad to see how the shoe transforms after a good six months of abuse. I have no idea who Sergio Rossi is, but the am loving this recent trend of colored soles on dress shoes – y’see those Cole Haan Lunars?

Marketing campaigns are hard to nail, so many variables, so many opinions, so many people to please – and that’s just inside the HQ of the brand you work at. So it’s always pleasing to see a nice campaign arrive. This latest one from Electric is just that. Nice. It’s not groundbreaking, it’s not over the top. It’s simple, clean and it works well for the collection (ladies) they are pushing.

In my own opinion, Electric’s last campaign – Loveless, was a winner, and it’s nice to see this one follow the same formule. The shots used were a little weird for me (but hey, can’t go wrong with beautiful ladies right?) the layout is nice an clean – hierarchy is easy to follow and the simple inclusion of product (to satisfy the big wigs) all works well together on the page.

You can peek the campaign and some video over at the Electric site, all went live late last night. Thoughts on the campaign yourself? Gotta be some comments for this one surely…

Expect to see these pop up in the likes of Monster Children, TWS, Bliss and even Vice. I’m interested to see how it’s rolled out in-store and online -

Quiksilver Limited Collection

It’s currently 11:46pm on Tuesday night, I’m watching the CT event in Rio and barely able to stay awake. But  I have money riding on some heats, so I stay up. Attention elsewhere, it’s hard to write anything insightful or witty for Quik’s new Limited Collection. I did see it in store over the weekend and there are some real amazing pieces in there – the Hut Fever vest is rad, as is the Trail Blazer tee.. Oh and the denim is nice too, if you like the washed back lighter look that is. Here’s a look at the product nicely flat layed, later this week we will have the look book to help bring it to life…

If you’ve been watching the Billabong Pro in Rio, you will have seen the ad for these. I want some. Size 32. Please.

This is a sweet pair of boardies. Based off Greg Noll’s original signature design, they’ve been added to the Billabong Summer range in the USA.

Limited to just 200 pairs these are bound to be collectors items. Hand sewn, each pair is personally signed and numbered by Noll himself. They come in special packaging with a guarantee from Greg “If the ass blows out of them riding a 25 foot wave, I’ll replace them.”

Persol

Kind of a little embarrassed to admit I’d hardly heard of Persol before the start of this week…

They don’t cater to surf, not skate or snow by any means, but you will see some of the more trendier people within these circles wearing Persol (or Super).

Persol is from Italy. The name is derived from “per il sole,” which, in Italian, means “for the sun.” Formed in 1917  (just shy of 100 years!!)by Giuseppe Ratti, Persol originally catered to pilots and sports drivers. And then came the Steve McQueen endorsement, can’t put a better foot forward with Steve running your shades.
