DK sent our family (free of charge for this review) Lego Friends Brickmaster Treasure Hunt in Heartlake City and the Lego Friends Ultimate Sticker Collection.  The Lego Friends Brickmaster Treasure Hunt in Heartlake City is a great collection on Legos along with a story to go along with it.

My daughter loves this collection because she can read the book and create the things that she reads about.  She has spent hours already with the small Lego collection and her book.  If she could, I believe that she would take it everywhere.

The DK Lego Friends Ultimate Sticker Book collection is another great book for girls who love Legos.

My daughter loves pretending with her book and spending time “creating” scenes with stickers.  As a mom, there were a few of the outfits that the characters wear are not my favorite but that is something that Lego has done and not DK.  DK has done a wonderful job in creating a book that allows girls to create their favorite Lego scenes anywhere without the mess of little pieces.

I absolutely love the quality and durability of these books.   Our family has owned several DK books through the years and like the Lego Friends ones they stand the test of time and are some of my children’s favorite books.

I have enjoyed Wanda Brunstetter’s Discovery Series that I received from NetGalley free of charge for this review.  This month, I was eagerly awaiting to see what was going to happen to Meredith and Luke. Was she surviving?  Would Luke return?  How would she care for her baby all alone?

Synopsis:  New York Times Bestselling author, Wanda E. Brunstetter weaves a compelling love story brilliantly mingled with an unexpected twist. In part three of The Discovery–A Lancaster County Saga, Meredith Stoltzfus is trying to piece her life back together, while in a hospital miles away, a young man is fighting for his life and remains in a coma. . . .

My Opinion:  Poor Meredith!  Ms.  Brunstetter throws in some more twists that keeps you on the edge of your seat and then she makes you wait again!  This book takes us through more things that Meredith has to plan for, her future, her wondering if she will lose her house and many other things.  I can’t wait to find out what happens!

Having preschoolers in my house means that I get to watch some crazy cartoons and some really fun cartoons.  One of my personal favorites

Kids love to act out what they see and since I’d rather have my kids playing than watching cartoons, I was thrilled when Child’s Play Communications sent our family some Octonauts toys to review (free of charge for this review).  We were sent the Octonauts Octopod Playset, Octonauts Gup-B Mission Vehicle and Kwazii, Rescue Assortment Barnacles & Tunip, and the Octonauts Octo-Compass.

The Octopod looks like it came straight from the cartoons.  My kids were quick to exclaim how much they loved it.  Kwazii and Barnacles are so cute.  They are the perfect size for preschool hands.  The pods that come off the Octopod did come off a few times during play time which was slightly frustrating for my kids but it didn’t stop them from playing.  It was easily fixed but if there was anything I would love to see changed is how stable the pods are.

The compass was a toy that they loved.  They had seen Barnacles use the compass many times so I heard them say many times “Let’s check our compass!”  The buttons on the compass allow them to hear lots of fun sayings from the cartoon.

My son was fascinated with trying every nob and pulling up every levy to get the sea life into the Octopod.

The extra vehicles and rescue assortment added extra fun for them.  They are thrilled that the sea life  and the GUP-B can go into the tub with them.  The sea life changes color in water and the GUP-B mission vehicle and Tunip squirt water.  From land to “sea”, my kids can play with these fun toys.

The hours of fun of my kids have already had with these Octonauts toys is great.  I can definitely see adding more of the sets to add more fun and playtime.

Mamas & Papas helped my problem with their Babyplay Tummy Time Octopus Playmat.  At first, I thought there was no way she is still going to play with a playmat or gym but I had never seen one like this adorable Octopus playmat.  This brightly colored playmat is soft like a big cushion.  It is extremely inviting; even my 3 year wanted to play on it.

The Tummy Time Octopus Playmat has three stages.  Tummy Time, Arches for play time, and a general mat as baby grows.  It all folds up nice for storage and would work really well in an apartment or small space.

Baby girl loves the bright colored toys that can either hang from the arches, attach to the side of the mat, or can be held by little hands.  Each toy has its own interactive play.  One is a mirror, some squeak, and others rattle.  Abigail just loves the ribbons on them.

The octopuses’ arms are crinkly, soft, and are almost another toy in themselves.

The arches were still fun for an older baby like Abigail.  She loved laying on the mat and just looking at the toys.  If I were laying on that soft pillow I think I would be doing the same.

As a mom, I look for toys that are going to last longer than a few months.  I get so tired of storing things, trading toys out, and wasting my money on toys that last for what seems like just a few days.  The Tummy Time Octopus Playmat is something I could put in my husband’s office for visits or in the back of the van for trips to Grandmas.

I love this Slow Cooker Breakfast Casserole  because first of all it is naturally gluten free.  Second, this recipe is versatile.  You can add or take away anything.  If you have a child that must be dairy free, take out the cheese.  I have a child that is allergic to dairy and wheat so while I enjoy my cheese still, this recipe is one that I can add the cheese to the top of my serving when I’m done.  If you don’t like peppers or onions, take them out.  Do you love mushrooms or olives, add them.

Here you go:

Ingredients:

1 30 oz bag of frozen shredded Hashbrowns

1 pound of sausage (you can also use bacon or ham), browned and drained

2 cups of cheese (I used a mix of sharp cheddar and monterey jack)

1 green pepper, diced

1 red pepper, diced

1 onion, diced

12 eggs

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon pepper

Directions:

Place half of your hashbrowns in your 6 quart slower cooker.  (This recipe is too large for a smaller slow cooker unless you reduce this recipe.)  Layer your cheese, meat, peppers, and onions on top of your hashbrown layer.  Repeat.

In a bowl, whisk together your eggs, salt, and pepper until well blended.  Evenly pour your egg mixture over your hashbrown layers.

Cook on low for 8 hours or on high for 4 hours.

Top with your favorite toppings such as salsa, olives, or mushrooms.

With three little ones in this house, I have had a ton of baby products through the house.  I have learned to respect high quality products because they last longer, generally classier, and work better.  I learned to look for stores that carry my favorite products because I know that I can generally trust the other products that they carry.

PishPosh Baby carries many of my favorites.  I absolutely love my Ergo and have used it through two babies now.  I love it so much that my husband has banned me from looking at them any more because if I could I have three or four of them.  I love my baby carriers as much as most women love purses and shoes.

As my kids get older, toys become important.  We absolutely love wooden train tracks and the Kidkraft Farm Train Set is one of our favorites.   We have added it to our other train sets and it makes playtime even more fun.  These sets are more affordable that other wooden train sets; however, the quality is just as good.

Every time I look through the PishPosh Baby website, I find another brand I love or would like to try.  These brands keep baby going in style.
