STORY

Mr. Alonza Smith is a St. Louis businessman who has just been promoted to run the New York office of his firm. The news that his family must pack up and leave immediately comes just two weeks before the grandest event ever to take place in St. Louis – the opening of the 1904 World’s Fair. While he is willing to move, his wife and family are not.  Between the romances of his oldest daughters, a love-struck collegiate son and the mischief of his youngest girls, Mr Smith’s plans become “happily” foiled.

HISTORY

Lost Marbles Theatrics (LMT) was started in fall 2003 by Nana Tonkin (producer) and Kathy Hedges (director) with the goal of creating a good environment for home school students to glorify God through the arts. LMT put on its first production, “Every Little Crook and Nanny” in May 2004. It was a great success and was followed by Oscar Wilde’s “The Importance of Being Ernest” (2005), “You Can’t Take It With You” (2006), “Pride and Prejudice” (2007), “David Copperfield” (2008) and “Anne of Green Gables” (2009).

Every year members of the group attend classes in various aspects of theatrical education as well as production meetings for behind-the-scenes aspects of the production, such as designing and making sets and costumes and public relations.

ABOUT

The “Butterfly Kisses” dance is for the purpose of promoting healthy father/daughter relationships; to give fathers or father figures the opportunity to give their daughters a positive self-concept, and the expectation of being treated with respect by the men in their lives. This dance gives dads the opportunity to set the dating standards for their daughter at an early age, and may stave off countless pitfalls offered by a society that glorifies immorality. This also gives dads an opportunity to create a special memory with his daughter that she will remember for years ot come. The concept is taken from a story featured in Focus on the Family magazine.

HISTORY

At the dance we have a dad speak on what it means to him to be the father of a daughter. We offer food, beverages and a picture taken with their daughter. The dance runs for two hours with a DJ. We started 13 years ago with about 150 people at two dances. Last year we had over 2100 people attending 7 dances.

STORY

It’s December 1940, and the creative team of a Broadway show is assembled for a backer’s audition.  Naturally, all is not as it seems, and when the Stage Door Slasher strikes again…and again…it becomes a battle of wits to discover who the killer is.  Bodies are piling up in the snowbanks outside while tensions and accusations mount inside.  The house holds more surprises than a box of Exlax, and no one seems to be who we thought they were.

HISTORY

Encore Entertainment began as the convergence of 2 ideas:

1. I love to _____(sing, dance, act, juggle, play the violin, do graphics, sew…)

2. I like going to shows, but I’m not comfortable with the ______(message, language, cost…)

So in 1992 we began producing an annual variety show that gave all those talented people a place to perform, and the audience a comfortable, light hearted, reasonably priced night out.  Over the last 17 years we’ve done shows set on ocean cruises, in castles, before live radio audiences, involving time travel, and with a western theme.  The last 3 years we’ve done plays that are fun, clean shows that showcase the talents of many people.  We hope you’ll join us this fall for our next comedic venture.
