<h3>Reviews</h3>

<p class="aw_review">1)	Reason for getting lawn mower
With everything happening in the news as fare as over 90 million gallons of oil spilled in the Gulf of Mexico. The only way to drive home the idea of getting off oil is to starting with the home. Going with cleaner lawn care alternative was the only clear choice, plus a powerful need to save money in the long run. Anything that using gas as or for power wears down quickly due to; heat, carbon and oil sludge. Over time this causing cost of maintaining to rise from 150 dollars per year, to over 300 after five years. Based on Reviews both good and bad, this was one of the few lawn mowers; either gas or electric that had very favorable reviews. The common bad review's had to do with batter issues, which can be overcome easily by getting a smart charger.

2)	Inspecting lawn mower
Heavy, about 30Lbs heavier due to the batters (this is okay I could us a work out anyways). Build, with a combo of both steel and high impact ABS plastic, (wish the plastic was recycled, or planet based and not oil); things look good.

3)	Using lawn mower
Adjusting the height, easy to do with the single level height adjustment (wondering why more are not going with this type of height adjustment). Mowing the lawn and right off the bat notice it is a lot quieter then stander gas powered mower. Bagged beautifully even with the grass damp from the rain the day before. Used that bagging because the grass was a little tale after not be mowed for over three weeks. The next week used the mulching plug and did a great job but; the mulching plug does not fit tightly in the shot, so grass did get stuck in it.

4)	Maintenance tips
Going overboard to keep it looking new even after years of use, well keep your neighbors thinking you get a new lawn mower every year. First use Black Magic BM48016 Wet Shine Liquid Wax. Apply it to every metal and plastic part on the mower, including the blade. After that buff it to a shine and wait for an half an hour, then apply vegetable oil over the waxed area. Don't forget the underside of the chassis: the wax vegetable oil combo helps to keep grass from sticking to it, which help to make it easy to clean. For the blade I recommend taking the blade to a repair shop once a year to have it sharpen, you will need a torque wench to take the blade of. Best time to do this is when you put the mower away for the winter. According to the owner's manual the charger unit is not a smart charger, so keep that in mind. While there is no minimum to charging time, there is a max of twenty four hours. Whatever you do not leave on even one minute long then twenty four, because this well damage the batters, and believe me you will notice the change. If you know that you are not going to remember to unplug the mower from the charger in a timely manner, then there is something you came do. Getting a smart charger or batter maintainer, Is a great idea and I highly recommend one for two reasons. One; you can plug it in and forget it and not have to worry about the batter overcharging. Two; it will help to maximize that life of the batters by maintaining a full charger in-between uses. You can get one from 40 - 200 dollars, and they all pretty much do the same thing. You will also need an RCA wall plate. You will have to take the top of the batter cover off, in order to make sure that you wire the polarity right.

5)	Pros
a)	Single level height adjustment.
b)	Batter stays charged for up to 2 ½ hour of use.
c)	Ball bearing wheels.
d)	Cheaper Maintenance cost over the long run.
e)	No poll cord to have to start it.
f)	Does not look like a cartoon mower you see on the Jettison's .
g)	Will reduce your Carbon Foot Print.

6)	Cons
a)	Heavier then stander gas mower.
b)	Handle uncomfortable for small hands, [Homelite band only].
c)	Mulching plug does not fit tightly in the shot.
d)	Charger not a batter maintainer or smart charger.
e)	Pricy.

7) Bottom Line
Bottom line is if you have a small yard, say 1/4 to 1/5 acres then this would be a great lawnmower to have. It will save you money, it does a great job in mowing the grass, and is easier to use. Not to mention that your neighbors will envy you and want one too.</p>
<p class="aw_review">I have had this mower now for 11 months. When the battery has a fresh charge the mower has good power (about the same as a 2.5 hp gas mower). Unfortunately as the battery weakens so does the power of the mower. I live in South Florida and in the summer I have to mower my lawn every 4 to 5 days. With this mower I have to mow the front one day and the back a other. I live on a 1/4 acer lot that my house takes up about 1/3. Knowing what I know now, this mower is great if you have less then 3,000 sq ft to mow. But if you have a full sized yard, you may want to think twice. I like the mower, but wish I had gotten a gas mower.</p>
<p class="aw_review">When I first got my lawnmower I did not experience any of the problems that some others have mentioned. The mower is very heavy but worth pushing to save the planet. I liked the fact that the mower is so much quieter than a gas mower. Still loud and no where near as quiet as my neighbors Newton mower. Several months into my mowing experience I had my first problem, the charger melted overnight as it was charging the battery. I called the company and after a half an hour of waiting got someone to send out a new charger. No further problems till this year when my mower stopped functioning for no apparent reason about 1/10th of the way into mowing the lawn. I called the number given for the warrenty. Thirty minutes of waiting rewarded me with a number of a near by shop to have the mower serviced. Only problem, the shop refused to work on it. 30 more minutes on the phone another shop that would not service the mower. Finally got some 45 minutes from the house agreed to work on the mower. Called the fix it guy later in the week and he had some very choice words for this company. Looks like I'll be driving to the next state if anything else goes wrong. The fix it guy tells me the company will not send him the part and is giving him the run around. He tells me he will fix the mower with a part from another motor he has and then will try to keep after the company to get the part replaced on his extra motor. He needs to get paid though and so I have to fork over $35 for work that should have been covered under the warrenty. I could wait to see if he can convince the company to send the part or take the mower back but the company doesn't have a part number of the part that is broken so it can't be broken cause it doesn't exist. With the lawn now a full 12 inches and an embarrassed wife, I chose to part with the cash to expedite things. I have glossed over the pain and aggravation this company has caused me and so many others. I can not stress how terrible of a company they are. I am thinking of calling my states attorney general to file a complaint. Do not under any circumstance purchase this product. All the positive reviews are from people who have not owned this mower over a year.</p>
<p class="aw_review">I bought this mower hoping that it would do a good enough job on my small lawn. I've been more than pleasantly surprised! It came boxed in such a way that it was very well protected for shipment, yet easy to get out without a big mess. The only thing that had to be put together was the handle. Two bolts was all it took to get it ready to go, as well as letting it charge for 24 hours. The next day, I took it off charge and mowed both my front and back lawn. Neither one is very large, and together they are just about what I would call an average "city lawn". This mower weighs in at about 100 pounds, but it is no harder to push around than a comparably sized gas mower. It is much louder, and more powerful than I thought it would be. I had no problem mowing down my lawn, which had gotten higher than I normally keep it waiting on this to arrive. My grass was about 5 or 6 inches in length and quite thick. Cleanup was easy and I have since mowed my complete lawn three more times for a total of 4 times and have yet had to re-charge the battery!

I'm very happy with this purchase, and highly recommend this mower to anyone!</p>
<p class="aw_review">Delivery on time. Easy to put together. Runs great. My lawn is about 1,500 sq.ft.
I have mowed it three times on the first charge. It works very well and it is not nearly as loud as my gas mower and it doesn't stink.</p>

<p class="aw_description">The WORX GT is the perfect tool to neatly manicure your yard after you mow. It even won the prestigious Editor’s Choice award from Popular Mechanics Magazine at the 2006 Lawn and Garden Show. The lightweight WORX 18-volt battery-powered string trimmer weighs less than a gallon of milk and is the only trimmer on the market which converts from a standard grass trimmer to a true walk-behind edger – 2 tools in 1. The integrated Edger wheel allows you to quickly and easily roll the trimmer along your patio or driveway for adding that perfectly edged look to your yard or garden. And forget the hassle of pull starters - the WORX GT starts with the single push of a button. Forget the aggravation of untangling extension cords – the 18-volt battery-powered WORX GT can trim up to a 1/2 acre yard on a single charge. It goes anywhere you need to. And unlike some competitive cordless models, the WORX GT comes with a 1-hour quick charger so you don’t have to wait for hours for the battery to re-charge…you’re back to work in minutes not hours. The unique trimming head of WORX GT pivots up to 90-degrees to reach under decks, under play equipment, under trees and bushes or on slopes and hills. No more bumping to feed line. The auto-feed line system of the WORX GT feeds out line with a simple squeeze and release of the trigger. The fold-away spacer guard also helps to protect flowers, tree trunks, outdoor lighting and other delicate objects from damage by the trimmer line. The WORX GT adjusts in length and handle positions to ensure a more comfortable ergonomic fit and less strain on backs and arms. And unlike long, bulky trimmers, the WORX GT collapses for easy storage in a closet or garage. <h3>Reviews</h3>

<p class="aw_review">If you have a small yard with light edging, this product may be okay. We don't have a large yard, but we do have a fence in our backyard. This trimmer finishes a small amount trimming in the front but it doesn't even get 1/3 of the yard done in the back before the battery dies. With the climate where we live, we get weeds that spring up pretty quickly and this trimmer just doesn't have the oomph to get those in one pass. It takes several passes to cut some of the larger weeds.

Basically, this trimmer just doesn't have the battery life or the power to do a good job. Next time, I'm going to spend more money for a more quality product.</p>
<p class="aw_review">The Worx cordless weed trimmer/edger is not effective in trimming anything much stronger than jonathan grass. It barely makes it's way though fescue, and certainly doesn't make it's way though any weeds on my property. The battery only lasts 20 minutes. The plastic protector fell off five minutes after I tried it.

If you have a small bit of property and are basically cutting grass and trimming grass, this would probably be sufficient for you. It's definitely light weight and easy to start and manage. And frankly, if you have such small property, 20 minutes would probably do it for you. But if you are truly cutting weeds, this is not going to work for you.

The worst part about it is customer service: EXTREMELY LONG WAIT TIMES to do returns. The times I've spent on hold are as follows: day 1 45min+, day 2: 40 min, day 3: 30 min, and after 20 minutes on day 4 I finally got a hold of someone at WORX named "kristin" who processed my return, and told me my refund would reflect on my account 24 hours after they received my return. Not so...

So I called back, and didn't bother waiting past 15 minutes. But I was able to access them via their live chat on their website, where "jonathan" told me that Kristin was mistaken and that refunds took 7-10 days after the return was received. Put me on internet "hold" for a few minutes to research it and said my return would reflect on my account in 3-5 business days.

Not worth it guys! Buy another product!!!</p>
<p class="aw_review">These tools are awesome!! I have the combo set of edger/trimmer, hedge trimmer and blower sweeper. I also have the lithium battery.

Like one of the other reviews says, if you read the instructions, These work perfect. And, if your weeding tall weeds in a heavy thick area, this is not the tool. My big craftsman trimmer will cut anything down, but pulling it 10 times to start, waiting for it to warm up, replacing the line and carrying it around doing yard work was back breaking.

If you looking a for easy to use! Light weight! and, keep you keep up on your yard work on a consistent basis, these are the best yard tools I have owned. As another review said, it you just let go of the power, the line feeds itself perfectly!

I would suggest getting two batteries. I trim the yard, charge with the 30 min charger, mow the lawn and then it is ready to go for the blower. Is awesome!

Also, I am 6'2". I would like the edger/trimmer to be a little taller, but it sure beats carrying around my big craftsman gas edger. Also, forget about shoulder problems trying to start the gas trimmers. Just plug in and go. Forget about getting gas, buying mixing oil, no need anymore. All I have to buy is line.

I spent $270 for the set above, they are a excellent value. In addition, can put a price on helping shoulder and back last longer.

No, I do not work for Worx, I just like to tell people about when it works!! (I am in sales and could sell this product any day)</p>
<p class="aw_review">On the positive side, the battery power of this tool makes it convenient to use and easy to operate. The trimming capabilities are excellent and the tool is light-weight and very portable. However the edging capability is only adequate and requires a very good battery charge... A true all-purpose edger does a better job edging than this tool does. I think that they are on something with this product, and as soon edging improves... this will be ideal tool.</p>
<p class="aw_review">I BOUGHT THE EDGER TRIMMER ON APRIL 25TH 2009. THIS IS IT'S SECOND SEASON AND ALREADY TWO BATTERYS HAVE GONE BAD. SO I BOUGHT ONE NEW BATTERY FROM THEM TWO MONTHS AGO AND 12 SPOOLS OF CUTTING WIRE.TWO DAYS AGO IT STOPPED WORKING ALL TOGETHER.NOW I'M STUCK WITH A NEW BATTERY AND TWELVE SPOOLS OF WIRE THAT IS OF NO USE TO ME.I CANNOT HONESTLY RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT BECAUSE OUT OF THE 15 MONTHS OR SO THAT I HAVE HAD IT I ONLY GOT TO USE IT ABOUT 35 TIMES. MY PROPERTY IS NOT THAT BIG AND THERE IS NO EXCUSE FOR THIS SHODDY CONSTRUCTION AND VERY LITTLE WARRANTY TO BACK IT UP. I SENT THIS INFORMATION TO WORX ON LINE YESTERDAY AND IT WAS NOT PUBLISHED.(THEY DON'T PUBLISH BAD REVIEWS)SO IN MY OPINION " WORX DOES NOT WORX " SAVE YOUR MONEY AND STICK WITH A GAS OR PLUG IN ELECTRIC TRIMMER.THANK'S AND GOOD LUCK. > JOHN DUNKLE</p>

<p class="aw_review">Switched from my messy gas and oil trimmer and so happy I did! This trimmer is so easy to use, lightweight and functional. I absolutely recommend this trimmer to anyone for around the house, basic trimming and edging. Don't forget to get your free spools from worx.com!</p>
<p class="aw_review">Arrived quickly and as described, but not as powerful as the gas trimmer we had. No problems as of yet with the charge, but we don't have a huge yard either. Nice for the price.</p>

<p class="aw_review">This is my second try at cordless outdoor tools, and I must say that they have finally reached a level of reality. EXCELLENT TOOLS. I have all 3 for the lithium 18v series and I am 100% happy with them all.

I have a 1/2 acre yard and these tools handle it all perfectly with at least 70% battery life remaining.

Be aware you arent going to use these tools on a 1 acre yard with full on/full power non-stop trimming and blowing work that lasts well over 30 minutes. And you arent going to clean the yard of leaves in Fall with the blower. These are light weight, light duty tools, with about 30 minutes of full on power.

For a suburban setting...these tools ARE SPOT ON!!!</p>
<p class="aw_review">I purchased this item because I was tired of getting blisters from working so hard to start up my husband's gas trimmer. What a pleasant surprise!! After charging it for the initial 30 minutes, I was able to start it up easily and trim our lawn 2 and 1/2 times and each trimming was a week apart without having to charge it up again...(we don't have an exceptionally large or small lawn, just average) It is light and works great as an edger as well. The ONLY drawback may be that it doesn't have the strength to go through seriously thick, tall grasses... I didn't purchase it for that purpose, so I am nothing but happy with it!</p>

<p class="aw_description">This quiet, clean-running cordless tool is ideal for anyone who needs to clip tall, awkwardly-sited, or hard-to-reach hedges and shrubs. It effectively trims to a height of ten feet, thanks to two interlocking components that form an extended pole shape. The hardened, machined steel 18-inch cutting blade is exceptionally durable and features dual action to minimize vibration and increase user comfort. The 180-degree pivoting head adjusts to five different positions for hedges both high and low and effectively trims branches up to 7/16-inch in diameter. A powerful 18-volt NiCad battery provides 2400 revolutions per minute and runs the trimmer for up to 50 minutes between charges, as well as starting up effortlessly with the press of a trigger. (A locking switch enhances safety by preventing accidental starts.) Without a cumbersome electrical cord to drag around, even big jobs feel easier, and there are never any oil, gas, or tune-ups needed. The unit assembles and disassembles in seconds using locking collars to join the power end to the cutting head. A carry bag allows for easy transport and storage at home or to professional worksites. Also included are a battery charger and blade cover for increased storage safety. This trimmer is covered by a two-year warranty in addition to a 30-day satisfaction guarantee. It weighs just over eight pounds and measures 78 inches long when put together. --Mary Park</p>
<p class="aw_description">Designed for trimming shrubs and hedges with a height of 10 feet, this cordless electric pole hedge trimmer gets its power from one 18-volt NiCad battery (included, along with compatible charger) and helps you cut even hard-to-access pieces that most trimmers can't reach. The NPT318 features two interlocking sections that combine to create an extended pole measuring 78 inches, and a pre-hardened, machined steel, 18-inch, dual action cutting blade that won't create excessive vibration. There's also a 180-degree pivoting head that can be placed in five different positions to accommodate varying hedge sizes measuring up to 7/16-inch in diameter. To help you get more done in less time, the battery supplies 2,400 RPM and keeps the NPT318 going strong for up to 50 minutes on each charge. It also starts up with just a touch of the trigger, and a locking switch protects against unintended start-ups.</p>

<h3>Reviews</h3>

<p class="aw_review">A bit disappointed in the quality of this trimmer; does not feel sturdy and the weight is not balanced well. I also have an Echo gas pole trimmer with a telescoping pole with reach up to 21 ft. that is substantial in weight, but well-balanced and rock-solid. Bought this one to be used on light-weight work on smaller shrubs and be able to work standing up versus bent over using a Mantis gas trimmer that has been great, but gets heavy after awhile. I like the ease of the pivot adjustment and is a snap to take apart for storage. The charger provided should have been the type that can be wall-mounted; this has to be laid on top of a flat surface. This trimmer is good for light work, but leave the heavy thick shrubs to gas trimmers.</p>
<p class="aw_review">I have owned a gas powered trimmer for almost 20 years. I bought this product to use on some tall shrubs as the gas trimmer gets heavy after holding it over your head for extended periods of time. I have to say I was a little disappointed the first time I used it - I was accustomed to the more powerful gas trimmer and the NPT would not go through the thicker growth. But after using the NPT a few more times, and realizing that it worked best on new growth, I liked it more and more. The pivoting head was a brilliant idea - no more bending down to trim ivy and my other ground cover, and no more suffocating in the exhaust of the gas trimmer. I think it's a great product. I'm 5'6", and I can reach almost 8 feet with it.</p>
<p class="aw_review">This is generally a good product. I really enjoy not having to use gasoline or an electrical cord. Product does a better job of trimming than I expected.Battery charge lasts long enough to do consideralbe work. It is a bit heavy and can be tiresome when trimming higher branches. Also, a little additional lenght would be useful. Perhaps another 12 inches or so.</p>
<p class="aw_review">This Cordless Electric Pole Hedge Trimmer is terrific! We were looking for a lightweight, strong cordless hedge trimmer. We have used it to trim scrub pines in front of our home as well as traditional hedges. It truly cuts up to 1/2" branches and new growth easily. Lightweight and well balanced. It is a very well made, versatile product. Battery ran for nearly and hour of constant use and charged quickly. Great value for the money!</p>
<p class="aw_review">This product is very handy to reach high areas on hedges and tough places to reach. It works as well as any battery powered tool but does not have the power of a gas or electric trimmer. I am well satisfied.</p>

<h3>Reviews</h3>

<p class="aw_review">This product is tops for my purposes. Plenty of power and battery time. It is easy to use and it sure is nice not fighting the electric cord.</p>
<p class="aw_review">Our home is surrounded 360 degrees by landscaping which requires trimming / pruning. I've always used a corded electric trimmer. I've been wanting to get a cordless so I finally bought this one. The price was good beating all the box stores I checked including WalMart. I have now used this tool several times. The bar length is good and combined with the dual cutting action has greatly reduced the time and energy I've needed to do my trimming. Weight is no problem and shaking or vibration I have experienced with other corded trimmers is not present. Battery charge is also more than ample, although it is brand new, but so far no issues. I like it and would recommend it to anyone who does more than just little to no trimming.</p>
<p class="aw_review">A real piece of junk. Used maybe 3- 4 times, no problem. Until today it started smoking like a BBQ, with that distinct electrical equip. burning smell. Of course after 98 days I am SOL and just out my $85.Avoid this!!</p>
<p class="aw_review">It is just the beginning of the season and it is working so we shall see. Dependability is what I look for in a garden tool. I especially like the feature that allows the blades to start up again should my hand slip off the power trigger for an instant [I don't have to stop and engage the safety buttons to restart].</p>
<p class="aw_review">Over the years I've used several lower-end corded hedge trimmers. The cord was always in the way and the trimmers were uncomfortable to use.

After I severed another extension cords, I'd had enough and bought the Black & Decker NHT518-1 18-Volt Cordless Electric Hedge Trimmer. I was a little worried that the battery would not last very long and that the battery weight would make the trimmer hard to use. Instead, the trimmer has greatly exceeded my expectations.

The battery has lasted long enough to deal with all my (small) yard trimming needs on less then a battery charge. And the design of the trimmer makes it well balanced and easy to maneuver. It is so much more pleasurable to use this trimmer than my previous ones that I've actually helped my father-in-law and a neighbor trim THEIR bushes! (And I hate doing yard work).

<h3>Reviews</h3>

<p class="aw_review">Well worth the investment. First of all it came almost fully assembled. Pop the frame in the bag and done! It starts immediately - press the button, hold the handle and it's on. Sounds like a vacuum cleaner. We had read reviews where the mower was said to be heavier than previous mowers, however not in our case - it is actually lighter. And when it mows it also mulches so the bag holds much more than our previous mower. Our front yard was usually a 1 to 1 1/2 bag task, while the back yard was 2-3. Now the front yars is about 1/2 to 3/4 of a bag and the back is 1 to 1 1/2. The battery stays charged for our yard with no issues. Plus we're not covered with grass clippings, dirt and smelling like gasoline. No more gas cans to mess with. No pulling cords to start the mower and hope it doesn't break. We couls not be happier with this mower - we actually have a discussion as to who GETS to mow now - it's actually fun!!!</p>
<p class="aw_review">Needing a new lawn mower, I troubled over whether electric mowers would be just as good as gas-powered mowers. The thing is, I hate having to buy fuel for gas-powered equipment, not to mention the stench! But a couple friends said they'd gone electric already and had no regrets so I took the plunge and ordered this unit because it was cordless--electric cords being the only drawbacks my friends suggested. I too have no regrets. It's incredibly easy to load the battery, to raise or lower the mowing platform and to start! It cuts as well as a gas-powered mower but it's quieter and stench-free. Because it's lighter in weight, I find the maneuverability easier as well. And I have to say, there was one time I forgot to take the battery out for charging and left it in the unit for a week. When it was time to mow again, I went ahead and tried using it and was able to mow both front and back yards without problems--and I don't have small yards. After weeks of using it, I enjoyed it so much, I posted praises for it on my facebook account and got emails from others interested in knowing more about it. So far two of my fb friends have purchased this unit as well. I highly recommend this unit to anyone considering it.</p>
<p class="aw_review">Very easy to use, cuts evenly and has plenty of juice for my 2500 or so square feet of lawn. Newly sodded so it's very dense and it cut through it no problem. Switched from a gas mower and love it.</p>
<p class="aw_review">I'm now sold on cordless mowers. Previously, with my corded electric mower, I said a little prayer that I would survive the experience before every start-up. It works well on my rather small lot's backyard (~60' x 40'). This is not a manicured lawn with nice, soft, fluffy grass. We have very tough beach grasses (if it's green, I'm happy). The first mowing sent it through 6-8" of the toughest grasses I could imagine -- I didn't think it would cut it, but it did.</p>
<p class="aw_review">I've owned my mower for several months. I wanted to wait until I had mowed my yards a few times in the peak growing season before I posted a review. I live in Florida and have a mix of Bahia and St. Augustine grasses. The reason this is important to know is that in Florida in the summer the grass grows so quickly that you should really mow your yard every 4 days. However, I'm a once-a-week at best kind of guy so my grass is pretty tall and thick by the time I get to it. With that said I can now say that even after waiting 10 days to mow the yard this mower worked at least as well as my old gas powered mower. As with my gas powered mower, I do have to slow down slightly in the thick/tall Bahia grass for the mower to completely cut and mulch it. My yard isn't that large (70' x 130') and it only takes me about half an hour to mow so I can't attest to the battery life, but for my purposes this mower does a good job.

The only downside is the angle on the push bar. I just don't seem to be able to get it into a comfortable position, but maybe I just need to get accustom to it. After all I had my old mower for 15 years, so my arms are pretty use to a specific angle.
</p>

<h3>Reviews</h3>

<p class="aw_review">Shipping is FAST! with free shipping, Fedex delivered it on Saturday evening!

It's easy to set up, just follow up the instruction, I spent about 10 minutes to put everything together. Someone said the cord is an issue, I don't have any, just follow the instruction! Some tips: make sure the cord is long enough, I use 50' (sometimes add another 25'); move it slowly (since it's not as powerful as the gas mower); empty the bag often (you can feel by the sound); for some area not even, I just do another round, the finish is pretty good looking...</p>
<p class="aw_review">Bought this at home depot for $200, and used it about 8 times over 8 weeks. Reasonably easy to maneuver, cuts the grass decently, and cord management is not an issue as long as you remember the golden rule, which is to start from the area closest to the electrical outlet.</p>
<p class="aw_review">The product was easy to put together. But when I started it a big light came on thru the deck. I finally deduced that it was a gigantic spark. I was then afraid to use it. I wrote to the online help desk twice and got a couple of canned answers, neither of which was satisfactory. However they sent me to their service location {deWalts in Tinley park) to which I took the mower and the man there said this spark was normal since it sent a big jolt of electricity with reverse polarity to provide a stopping mechanism. I am still a bit leery about using it. I had a B&D model with a reversible handle and I liked it a lot but it had a black cover over the motor so maybe the spark was invisible. I wish they would be a little more candid about this because I am suspicious of the help desk and the service location. It would be a pain to return it and get another.</p>
<p class="aw_review">I purchased this mower about a month and a half ago and have used it 4 times to mow my 20x32 yard and other areas. The only complaint I have is dealing with the cord, but this is the sacrifice I had to make because I didn't want a gas powered or battery powered mower. The thing cuts well (I had to go over just a few spots after mowing entire yard), its not too heavy (nice for dealing with corners, or when you have to change direction in an awkward area), is easy to clean, and sounds like a vacuum cleaner when in use, and soundless when not in use. I used the bag once for collecting clippings, but have since used the mulch option which works great. My two recommendations, buy a 100' outdoor cord and cord reel organizer, and make sure you plug this thing into a GFCI plug (just in case you do run over the wire). Overall I am satisfied with my purchase.</p>
<p class="aw_review">I had the previous B&D model for over 12 years. I still have it for parts. This machine is designed a tad bit differently but it performs well. It now has a padded handle and the top deck is a bit higher. I don't like the larger deck but now grass won't get under the 'hood' that used to be there which made cleanup a bit more on the older model. The height adjuster is better too, with just a squeeze you can go up or down very fast. So far this machine has met all my expectations. I let someone else use a gas mower on my lawn since I'm having back trouble and my hill in the back yard makes walking hard for me. Well, that said, I went right back to my mowing the next time. The gas mower did a horrible job on my lawn and this man had a new mower too. He could run faster than I do but it was a very bad job. He didn't mean to do this, he had a good machine and does make it look nice for a day or two.
After I mowed it the next time, people even stopped and told me how beautiful my yard was. I do love the manicured look. I had to cut off more grass this time due to the setting on the gas mower set higher. This machine withstood it all. We bagged it which I hated and is the reason I will go back to mowing myself. We took off 13 large bags of clippings with the rear bag and it handled it very well (this was the grass left behind from the gas mower). I like the mulch feature much more myself and that is why I will use this machine exclusively from now on. I have not had to bag in over 13 years so this was a huge disappointment on having to pay someone to do a worse job.
My old model worked so well that in the fall season I only ever raked leaves once. These machines will mulch up leaves, small sticks and anything I give it. I have loved that since like I previously said, I like a manicured yard. The mulching is so fine it re-fertilizes the yard. I fertilize once, maybe twice a year and have the greenest yard around. Yes, I am a woman and walk slower than the running this service did to see how fast they could get done. Also, with my back I do the front one day and the back yard the next due to my health. I also live in Texas and in 100 degree heat I wait and only mow in the early morning or very late in the day.
I love how I can store this mower standing on its nose. It takes up such little space in the shed. I never leave it out. You also should not use this mower if it is starting to rain which I did sometimes with a gas mower. Being electric I would never try that. Mowing shouldn't be done in the rain anyway.
I never have to rake up clippings either. My neighbor lets others mow her grass all the time and this last time they left two inches of clippings in her yard. She had to have someone else rake and mow two days later just to get up the mess before it killed her whole yard.
Those expenses make me glad to have gotten this mower for the price that Amazon or home improvement stores charge. I was going to get the Sears brand but it cost more and had a metal deck. I love the plastic, it is easy to clean and won't rust. My last one is still in one piece after a long work history and much abuse.
Another thing no one has mentioned is that this mower can go forward and backward. You can mow up the hill and move over and mow down the hill backwards, no turning around. My husband used to yell at me all the time with the gas mower since it cannot go backwards. I have obstacles in my yard like wires to a ham tower, clothes line polls, trees and other items. I can go around them all with a bit of planning with the cord and have no trouble. A friend came first of the year to do the back yard with the cord and he even said he liked this mower. He showed me to store the cord like crocheting it and it pulls back out without kinks in it. This makes the beginning mowing better now since I have less cord until I pull it out for the further away parts. Yes, you do have to start nearest the plug and work outward but once you get used to the machine, you forget all about that. Just always hold the cord in your left hand and walk on. I mow with one hand this mower is so light. My right hand can hold the safety clip and push and I just had hand surgery too.
Now I hope this machine works as long as the other did and it is well worth the price I paid. My old one came to $17 per year of use. That was with a new blade and a new switch the last year before I killed it. My husband still wants to tinker with it so it may be resurrected yet. I mowed three yards back then, now I can only do my own due to health.
Oh, and I use a 100 foot cord that costs about $16 to purchase and I can use it for everything else in between. Like the electric weed eater, the Christmas lights etc so that purchase negates itself.
I only cut my cord in half once in 12 years. I was the fault not the corded mowing. I got very hot in 110 heat and almost passed out, I turned around and cut the cord. I unplugged it and that was that. With the rubber grip handles there is no danger except your human self. Always be safe, plug into ground fault plugs which should be on an outside outlet anyway.

<h3>Reviews</h3>

<p class="aw_review">Just got my receiver today, plugged everything and turned it on. At first, I was bit confused about setting it up and the remote controll, but after reading a bit from the manual I managed to set things up. After this I made a short sound check to see that everything worked and it did. Then I downloaded the update from Yamahas site and tried updating the receiver with PS3 Slim. Well for my suprice, receiver was already up to date. So now I wanted to test HD sounds and put Rambo IV in, and just wow, sound is great! Even I dont have the best speakers in the world, it still sounded a lot better than anything what I played before with my non-HD Sony receiver. After I had watched the movie I put radio on and just left it there. It has now been on for around 8 hours on row and every now and then when good song comes I turn volume up, but still its really hard to sence any heat over the receiver.
Ok, it has only been in use for a day but so far I have really nothing to complain. Everything is connected with HDMI so I didn't need the analog upconversing. Even 7.1 system seems to work ok, but I don't have really anything to test it with, all blue-ray's only have 5.1 I was thinking of getting some 7.1 test trak later but so far so good. For me the thing that last 2 speakers need to be active ones (to get 6.1 or 7.1) wasn't an issue since I took those from my bedroom tv. Maybe going to put those back to bedroom atleast for a while when I can get something that has 7.1 sounds.</p>
<p class="aw_review">I bought the 467 along with a new Samsung 58" plasma 3D TV and a new Samsung bd-c6900 3D blueray player. The Yamaha needs to have the firmware upgraded to play 3D, and the firmware upgrade was just released by Yamaha.
[[...]

But...I've spent a few hours trying to upgrade the firmware and I just can't find my way through Yamaha's convoluted firmware upgrade process. They have you copy a .wav file to a CD, and then play the CD through the optical input on the 467 while it's in update mode. But they warn of two pitfalls. First, they say "Conventional CD burning software is recommended. An audio CD burned by Windows Media Player may not work." I used itunes on a mac to burn the disc. That's the only CD burner I have.

Secondly, they warn that the process doesn't work with all CD playback devices. The warning on the Yamaha instructions says: "Some DVD players use digital filters, which affects the output signal of the devices. the firmware update will not work with DVD players which use these digital filters. CD players usually do not use these filters, so using a CD player is preferred."

I have tried my new samsung DVD player, my 6-month old Sony blueray DVD player, and a 10-year old panasonic CD-only player. I'm pretty sure the panny can't deal with the CD-R disc. The two DVD players appeared to be playing it fine. but in both cases, the Yamaha couldn't interpret what it was being fed. I can't fathom how an average consumer would find their way through this maze...

Can anyone help?</p>
<p class="aw_review">I was using a JVC RX 888. It put out great sounds but it was pre HDMI. The Yamaha, has several HDMI slots and I now run my Blu ray and TV through it. It took a little while to figure things out but once you get the hang of it, it's pretty simple. After using it the first evening, I turned it on the next day expecting to hear great sound only to have no sound. The only thing I did the night before was turn it off. After worrying with it and searching the CD manual for a couple of hours I finally noticed the sound was at it's lowest level. Apparently it defaults to this position. Once I turned the sound up it was great. I went into the setup menu and changed the minimum level to where you could hear it when turned on. Don't forget to do this!

One thing I don't really care about is the manual on CD. It's just time consuming trying to read thru it and look things up. I prefer paper, but expect this is the future. I really like the speaker check system. Simple and fast.

If you don't want to spend a bundle but want a good receiver this could be the one for you. I'm very satisfied.</p>
<p class="aw_review">I bought this receiver based on other reviews of Yamaha receivers. I chose this over Samsung's current 5.1 and 7.1 receiver, because the Samsung units had lackluster reviews. I was curious about the Samsung receiver line because our television is a Samsung LED.

I'm thrilled with the RX-V467. First, the quality is topnotch, which is something you can always expect from Yamaha gear. It's solidly built and feels that way. There's a huge heatsink inside, visible through the top vent. Second, it's feature-rich and surprisingly easy to operate given all the options at hand.

I bought Polk Audio's SurroundBar and Polk Audio's PSW10 Subwoofer for this unit: What fantastic sound when you merge these items! For Blu-ray--also based on user ratings--I purchased the Sony BDP-360, and it works great with the Yamaha RX-V467 via HDMI-CEC.

My Samsung UN55C6500 LED LCD television works great with this receiver. I'm even able to get some HDMI-CEC functionality between the receiver, TV, and Sony Blu-ray.

The remote control looks scary at first, but once I stared into it for a few seconds, I realized the forethought that went into it. I was able to set most functions in the receiver without cracking the manual. If you've used a receiver before, you'll likely find this unit and remote easy to operate. The remote can be programmed to operate other components in your HES.

The auto calibration microphone starts the process when you plug it in. A few remote clicks and you're done. Had to set the speaker size back to Large for the SurroundBar, however, as this is what Polk Audio recommends.

I love that you can name the inputs of the unit based on what you plug in; this makes it easy to see what AV input you've selected.

I've only scratched the surface. This unit has plenty of features to keep you busy if you like that kind of stuff.

This receiver is $329 on Amazon and other places; great deal!!!!

Downsides:

My Pace HD cable box (Time Warner) did not work well via HDMI cable, but I'm not sure if this was the fault of the Pace, the receiver, or the television (or some combination). Sound and picture would blink or stutter on-and-off for about 30 seconds with each channel change (changed via the cable box). That was just unacceptable, so I went to Component and TOSLINK cables for the Pace without issue. HD cable sounds and looks great now, without "blinking," using these cable selections connected to the receiver. This unfortunately means I have both Component and HDMI cables connected to the TV.

Does not include an iPhone or iPod dock like the Samsung. The new iPhone/iPod dock should be available within the next month or so, but you'll have to buy that as an option. Starting retail price to be $99. The receiver does have a mini-plug on the front to connect your mp3 device right away, however. There is currently an iPod-only dock available for the unit ($40-$70 online); I understand it has some iPhone compatibility, but I'm waiting for the new dock.

This unit offers ZERO conversion options. In other words, it will not up-convert or down-convert one format to another (e.g., Composite to Component, Component to HDMI, etc.). Most of the reviews I've read on units from other manufacturers that do offer conversion options have been poor, which leads me to believe that it's the conversion process itself that sucks--not the receivers. No idea if the unit will do the conversion for the iPhone dock...hope it does.

Conclusion:

I recommend this receiver. As with all things, better units are available for MORE money; this unit delivers for the amount paid. If you're like me (moderate audio junkie) and need a unit for a medium-sized room (5.1 surround), I think you'll like this receiver. If you fancy yourself an audiophile and like to buy expensive audio and video cables because you think it helps, buy something more expensive.</p>
<p class="aw_review">well, i went against all better judgement in purchasing a "new" receiver like this. had it pre-ordered. there are always issues right?

ill say this, its a great receiver at the price. always loved yamaha's. the issue is when using a blu ray player at 1080p/60fps. it hiccups audio/video every few seconds. bypass the receiver and all is well. if i set the blu ray to stream 1080p/24fps, all is well again.

but to have a receiver not be able to do what it says it can, well its broken imo. yamaha had ZERO interest in helping or even listening. "its new and there wont be firmware for months" was the best i got.

<h3>Reviews</h3>

<p class="aw_review">I did a good amount of research for my 65 in plasma in my man cave. After It was shipped I unpacked it and had everything working in about 20 minutes. The sound is good and It really has good bass. As others have stated this is not true surround but it comes close or as close as you can without rear speakers.</p>
<p class="aw_review">The sound from this system is great. Not necessarily surround sound, but it's much better than the tv speakers. I have this connected to a new Samsung TV. When using the TV speakers AND the SoundBar unit together it sounds like you are in a cave. I use the soundbar exclusively now, with the TV speakers turned off. My biggest complaint is that every once in a while the TV remote, and the SoundBar remote do not work. You can hit every button on the soundbar remote, or the volume on the tv remote, and it does nothing. This problem does not happen all the time, just randomly. It could happen twice in an hour or once a week. Every once in a while it also switches itself from Dital 1 input to the Digital 2 input (which there is nothing connected to). This usually happens in the middle of a movie, and again, it's totally random. Most of the time I love this soundbar, MOST of the time.</p>
<p class="aw_review">After spending the last couple months going through 4 or 5 different Soundbars I have to say this Samsung model takes the cake! Not only is it not to obtrusive it packs plenty of punch. Both with the highs and lows and using the Wireless subwoofer. It was a breeze to set up as well. I really like the classly look it adds to my set up. Perfect for using in my family room or outdoors when I roll my LCD by the hot tub. The remote is nice and easy to use. Overall I am very pleased with the crisp sound I am hearing. If this model is in your price range do not waste your time with another brand.</p>
<p class="aw_review">Bought this soundbar to go along with my 52" Samsung LCD. What a big improvement over the TV speakers! Watched 2 Blu-ray movies with it already and was very impressed by the sound. It was very easy to hookup. Just used the provided optical cable to connect the sound bar to the TV. Plugged in the subwoofer, plugged in the soundbar, turned on.... and the sub was instantly connected to the soundbar. It was up and running literally in minutes. The volume of the soundbar can be controlled by the TV remote so that's nice. You may or may not want to turn off the TV speakers. The problem with turning off your TV speakers is it will say "not available" on your TV when you adjust the volume with the TV remote, but that is a minor problem.</p>
<p class="aw_review">Background -- We finally got rid of our 15 year old set and bought a 63" inch Samsung plasma, which has been great so far. The TV room is mid-sized. Before buying the sound bar, I bought two of the home-theater-in-a-box systems that had 5 speakers each (maybe more) and an integrated a blu-ray player. They each turned out to be too temperamental for this amateur, and I returned them. (Amazon was great about the returns). This soundbar is a vastly better solution for me. It's much simpler; it fits nicely on the wall (supply your own anchors); and the soundbar, plus the included wireless woofer, sound almost as good to my ear as the bigger systems (and much, much better than the TV speaker). I bought a cheap blu-ray separately, which also turned out to be the better option. Standing on its own, the blu-ray is nice and small, and we don't really use it that much given the number of on-demand options from cable.

Bottom line -- just right!</p>
