Well, after coming back from my summer holiday, I spent 6 weeks of endless nights blasting through lsl, php and facebook code... to proudly bring you: Second Life Link! That's right! You can now link your Facebook profile to your Second life account. By why would you want to do that??? Here's what our application can do:

Introduction

What does Second Life Link do?
This application integrates the worlds most popular social networking applications, Facebook, with the worlds most popular Virtual World – Second Life! With our Facebook application you can:

Show your SL Avatar to your RL Friends
If your friend uses the Second Life, and they use our application, you will be able to see their Second Life name and Avatar – so you can meet virtually!

View your friends Online Status in Facebook
Our application will show your friend’s Second Life online/offline. This will help you to synchronize virtual meeting times!

Share your Virtual Home / Favorite Locations with your Friends
We give you the option to specify your favorite or Home SL Destination with your friends. That way, they can easily teleport to you when you are online, or visit your virtual home when you are offline.

Excellent Privacy Settings
Privacy is our number one concern. Therefore, we have several privacy settings so you can choose whether or not your friends can see you online or offline in SL.

Second Life Link is currently in our beta stage -meaning, it may have bugs in it. I hope you can help us find them, and make the application better!

There are two ways you can install Second Life Link. You can either install it by

1)First touching the terminal, and THEN going to Facebook to verify, OR
2) First adding our application in Facebook, and THEN clicking on the terminal

If you choose the first way, you will have to enter a verification code in Facebook which we will provide to you after clicking our terminal.

If you do it the second way, you don't have to enter any verification code, you just need to install our facebook app, by going to: http://apps.facebook.com/second-life/?canvas
and then click the terminal for auto verification.

Instructions I (For users who you haven't installed the facebook application yet)

1) Click on the Second Life Link terminal 􀀬 (See this image: 􀀦)
2) Look at your chat window by pressing control-h

In the chat window, you will be given a special 6 digit code.􀀭
Copy this code down

3) A blue menu will pop up in the top right of your screen, with a button that says: "Go to page" 􀀮
4) This will take you to facebook where you must install the Second Life Link Application
Click "Add Application" 􀀯
5) Next Click "Add Second Life Link" 􀀰
6) Next, there are two columns. One is for people who don't have a second life account. And another column for those that do. Obviously, since you are an avatar in second life you have an account! Therefore type in your Second Life first and last name into the fields. Then press "Sync Account". (See this picture for details:􀀱 )
7) Finaly, type in your secret code and press "confirm" 􀀲 You are done! Congrats! You can now start social networking
with your SL Friends on Facebook! 􀀤

tonight was really cool! I was about to go to bed at 4am, and then I received a teleport request to go to the NMC Conference Center... so I teleported, and found myself amongst about 30 avatars, and a speakers voice started pumping through my speakers... What I was hearing was the REAL LIFE conference that was occuring at that very second in Chicago... what an experience. WHile he talked, the rest of us who where virtually present, chatted back and forth about what he was talking about. Totally interactive... very cool.

After getting a great tip from a programming friend, i managed to implement a One - Touch button for each holodeck Scene! Makes things much easier to control! very cool! Just press the picture of the bus, and BOOM! A bus terminal will appear!

Cool new Slide Whiteboard~!

Today I met Hans Baldwin, he customized his whiteboard app so that every educator using our classrooms can easily display powerpoint presentations (via jpgs) whats cool about this whiteboard, is that it has a thumbnail viewer for easy slide selection - in this pic, you can see the thumbnails on the wall beside the main screen. K... so I am installing REAL video viewers in each Classroom at English Village... very cool - imagine the lesson possibilities when you can virtually sit down side by side with your student, and watch a video together... pretty amazing - come to English village, click on the tv screen in the living rooms and press play on your movie control... and then sit back and relax! here kip and I are watch a video about our galaxy while listening to Pink Floyd

It's not easy finding a good poseball script in SL...today I had to add poseballs to the new furniture I created for the new skyboxes at English Village... What an expensive task - would you believe I had to spend around 3000L trying before finding a descent script?? However after about 2 hours - I found one! hidden several hundred items below my search results. It's an awesome poseball, and only 10L... so nice! Hey everyone, after removing the onion several weeks ago, I found out that it actually was something people really liked about English Village! So tonight I re-added it, a bit more spiffy too! It has a nice ring around it, as well as a central teleport station to make transfer around the island easier!

Hey everyone, well, after spending last week mastering seamless textures, i finally set down for some solid building... after spending most of saturday and sunday, I managed to build a massive waterfall, and two huge cliff structures to house my Holodecks... a big improvement from the last design... atleast now, my residents will have a place they can explore and hang out at... let me know what you think!
