Definitely Natural

Last year a week before Easter I decided that I would not relax my hair anymore, considering when I was up to date on this blog, I was "growing my relaxed strands". I laugh at that now because everyone was so use to seeing me with long, relaxed bouncy body strands. Although my decision for wanting to go natural wasn't for just going natural, I was almost forced after using some rollers that was so sharp that the clamp cut my hair right from the freaking root. It's a long story but to make it short, I purchases rods, in a big sizes to make it easier for me to get up and go after having a baby and instead it caused more harm than good. So there was my decision to just go natural after having a small Afro in the back of my head mixed along with relaxed hair. As of now, I'm completely natural and did away with my final relaxed ends about 2 weeks ago. I'm really trying to catch back up on my blog considering I love hair care products, The Mane Choice & Carol's Daughter for my 2 year old. I also love beauty products and so much more! Hopefully I will get more time to dedicate here.

I visited one of my favorites stores to grab me some of my favorite products. Shea Moisture. I have used the Jamaican Black Castor Oil line before and I loved it. So I wanted to try something from a different collection. I was also already in the market for me some mousse and since It was buy 1 get one at 50% off. I decided to purchase Shea Moisture Mousse and the stuff smells really good! I do not have fine hair,my hair is thick,it use to be coarse but through the years my texture have changed for sure. The Intensive Hydration shampoo smells just like the shampoo I used from the Castor Oil line a few months ago. The consistency is very good and it cleaned my hair with lots of suds. It don't feel stripped and overall I am happy I gave this line a try. I love that I can smell some essential oils mixtures in the conditioner. I applied it to my hair and let it just sit. It smells awesome as well. I will be wrapping my hair with the mousse and in the near future I will be trying some more collections from Shea moisture. It definitely feels like my hair loves this stuff already. I know I do.

I purchased all items myself and reviews are definitely my own as I love hair care products :)

Review of the Maybelline Super stay Better Skin Challenge!

Hi Ya! Look here! I was selected to take the 3 week Better Skin Challenge. I was excited and delighted to only notice the color chosen was very light and was not my color. Although the color "Warm Honey" was way to light for me,I went out to tried to buy my correct color to join the Rave party to only be let down again. My color that I needed was gone (sold out) :( aw man. So to write a review I still played around with what I had not only to mention I said to myself,MAN this stuff must be good because it's gone. I was not able to use it over my entire face but I was able to use it under my eyes. I love the texture of the makeup,it's not very hard,it has a light but solid fill while I applied it and it does not have a loud smell. I have some darkness under my eyes so I will continue to use a dap here and there so it can correct that area for me! So after all it works for something. Now I am hoping I can pick up the correct color to try my entire face! I can't wait to try it! So I can't give a full review on the actual benefits of the foundation just yet but I will definitely follow up.

Since I haven't wrote a blog post in a few years,I decided to write a review about the products I received complimentary of influenster. First all I love the packaging and everything arrived in a timely manner and secondly,I am happy I was able to be picked in this campaign because I absolutely love smell goods and I shop for fine perfumes and body sprays all the time and are trying to get my hub bub to find the perfect fit (smell) for himself. I don't like having to smell the men's cologne to find the right one,but when it comes to finding a perfume for myself,I can spray 10 difference scents (time to smell some coffee beans) and then I go right back at it.

The REVEAL Men Calvin Klein smells really good. It has a light woody scent but can be a little overpowering if too much is sprayed. (My hub tend not to wear cologne because he has never taken the time to find the right "fit" so he went dumb spraying the cologne.

Along with the sample of the REVEAL Men Calvin Klein I also received the Calvin Klein small card case and My husband love it and so do I. Thanks Influenster We enjoyed it,just in time for Valentine's day! Definitely playing on getting a bottle of this one day soon.

Under Eye Creams/Care

Keeping your under eye light and fresh. Who would have knew that once you get pass 18,that it would take some serious eye creams and gels if you have had any problems such as stress,heredity,or just from working so hard the affect that it would take on your eyes.

The best thing is to first, be sure your diet is good as always. Try to keep stress levels down from work and keep your under your eye as moisturized as possible. Also if you have dark circles and bags from heredity you can also try and tackle that problem as well with eye gels and eye creams.although I have saw reviews on many products that cream does not help with heredity. However they could help a bit for some. Also do not rub your eyes. Avoid that as much as possible,If not it will only make your dark circles worst. I am a living witness. Skin under the eyes is very delicate.

Okay, I just started using eye creams and eye gels. Never would have knew in a million years at my young age that I would need such,but here I am today experimenting and trying to find that "right eye cream".

I love beauty and I also love beauty products as well so this has been one journey!

A few products I have had experience with thus far are the Retinol Eye Gel from Ulta.com. (Non-affiliated link) It has been very good to the skin under my eyes. I did see some improvement with my dark stressful circles but are willing to try more of it to firm a better opinion as I know it takes a little bit of time with continued use and that mean to buy more product when I am out...so far I have not done that. I just have tried other products to find that "right one".

I also have tried the Get Defensive eye cream from meetMark.com. Not sure if they have it still available.

I tend to jump around just to try other brands as well once I am out of the usual.

This is my newest product that I have!Get Defensive SPF 15 Eye Cream so happy that I was able to order this. After reading the reviews and it was on sale I figured that it wouldn't hurt. I got it and have been using it for about 2 days now. It's absorbs in the skin nice and do not take much at all. I got it on sale for $7 and delivery was very fast. It does not irritate my eyes and definitely keep under my eyes moisturized and hydrated! Now I just need to see if it helps my dark circles that's slowly going away. However I would recommend the Defensive SPF 15 Eye Cream for moisture and dry skin under the eyes. However it do burn if you get it in your eyes,so once you put it on, I noticed even 6 hours later my eyes started to burn and I couldn't for the life of me figure out why. Then it clicked! I had put on eye cream earlier that day.

Next product that's a plus that I want to try is the Organic Coffee Bean Caffeine Eye Cream 1Oz,I read that any eye cream that have caffeine is a must have!

Aromatherapy for your Scalp.

How natural essential oils can help grow your hair. Not just grow your hair but also make your hair healthy as well. Of course you would want to do everything on the inside such as a good diet, and by drinking plenty of water. I know you have heard that a thousand times.But, if you want in depth results there are a number of natural essential oils for you to try. Another thing you can do is add many of these oils to your shampoo and or conditioner! You can even make you own hot oil treatment using any of these essential oils as well. Coconut oil is very good too for hot oil treatments! I tried it and loved using it. I thought I wouldn't like the smell and didn't know what to expect but it was great.

Find your problem hair type below and get the recommended essential oil.

Note:Before trying any essential oils be sure to do a test and also make sure you are not allergic to any of these oils before you decide to try them. As always dilute these oils using a base oil. I myself have used Rosemary and eucalyptus and love both, with eucalyptus being my absolute favorite and I am on the road now for tea tree and peppermint!

Update: I use tea tree oil,peppermint,rosemary and eucalyptus,however I don't use them all at once,I also do not mix the oils, I choose monthly on which oil I want to use to see each results with my hair and scalp differently.

Removing a Dark Colored Dye From Your Hair

Have you ever wanted to go jet black or to a darkest brown.
Then,after a while you saw these beautiful highlights in someone else's hair and you said okay,I want to go back to me some lightener.

Your stylist,friend or co-worker said your hair is too dark and you just put your most recent hair color in,so you can't do it.

You say yup,you are right. My hair will probably turn orange if you want to go blonde. If you wanted to do a red maybe you'd be just fine.

Well here is a solution to remove that dark color.

I'm not sure if this ever worked whenever I put a permanent black dye on my hair,but I do know whenever I did a jet black rinse this worked.

I was like why are my color coming out so much and I just put it in!

After a while I started to notice that I could not do a hot oil treatment if I were going to add any temporary or permanent color to my hair or ,much of it would rinse right off.

The solution to removing dark color dye from your hair is a hot oil treatment!

Yes. A hot oil treatment somehow penetrates your strands and the oil strips the color right off your hair taking it right back to your original hair color.

After this procedure,I'd wait about a week. Then go ahead and get me some highlights.

Select Essential Oils For The Hair Really Do Work!

It's been a long time since I wrote a new blog Post! But I'm so excited to get away and finally get the chance to write a new blog post! Wow all I can say is that I see results!
About 3 months ago I purchased a bottle of the Eucalyptus 100% Pure Essential Oil-10 ml-Eucalyptus-Oil!

I previously had already read some great information about it and I also wrote and posted a blog post about it too! So if you have not had a chance to read it do so and follow those directions!

Okay this is what I did and it added length to my hair too it's also good for healing,strengthening and cleansing properties/agents for your scalp and hair.

Every time I washed my hair I took some of the Eucalyptus 100% Pure Essential Oil-10 ml-Eucalyptus-Oil and added it to my shampoo.I did this with every other shampoo but then I made sure I rinsed/shampooed very lightly. After that,I just used my conditioner and styled as usual.

(Make Your own Essential Oils Mixtures) Grease Your Scalp

You don't have to add it to your shampoo,you can use it to grease your scalp with to circulate blood flow.
If you have some coconut oil or any carrier oil laying around you can make you a stimulating mixture. Just scoop a medium amount of coconut oil out,place it in a nice bowl and add about 3 to 4 drops of peppermint oil, eucalyptus oil,rosemary or better yet tea tree oil. The extra virgin coconut ( Puritan's Pride Organic Extra Virgin Coconut Oil-16 oz-Oiloil is good too, It's up to you.

Coconut oil alone also makes your hair soft and shiny as well and it's often used as a beauty agent for the skill,weight loss,high cholesterol,cooking and good for the skin as well.

Now back to the subject! My hair grew! On the right side of my head it was a bit shorter than the left side so I wanted it to catch up! And It did!

When I don't have the time to add the Eucalyptus oil to my shampoo I add it to my hair grease days before I shampoo. I let it remain in my head a few days and then I shampoo my hair. I'm usually wearing a pony tail by then though.

It also helps sore scalp too. So if you have sore scalp go for some essential oils. Don't forget you can use these as a hot oil treatments. Warm your carrier oil such as a little bit of the coconut oil and then add the essential oils to the warm carrier oil,let cool before pouring directly in your scalp just in case it's too hot,if not,test your oil before pouring on your scalp. Afterwards,relax,light shampoo or condition and rinse however you prefer.

Eucalyptus Essential Oil For Your Hair

Eucalyptus 100% Pure Essential Oil-10 ml-Eucalyptus oil can be used to get healthy hair. A common scalp problem that is known to cause hair loss and affect hair growth is dandruff. Eucalyptus oil can help you to get rid of dandruff, which in return can help promote healthy growth of hair.

For using eucalyptus oil for dandruff, just mix about 10 drops of eucalyptus oil with your favorite shampoo and gently massage your scalp for a few minutes, afterwards rinse with water.

All these benefits of eucalyptus oil for hair can be attributed to both its medicinal properties and soothing aroma. The refreshing aroma of the oil can reduce mental stress and exhaustion, which too can go a long way in preventing hair loss.

Is Henna Safe For Your Hair?

I wanted to write about henna for the hair, and I'm just getting around to it!

In school I was taught that henna for the hair is bad and it's even listed in my Cosmetology book!

The reason why is because some items that you purchase from the beauty supply that says it's real henna is not real henna! Fake henna contains metallic dyes which will not mix well with regular hair care products such as relaxers and you must tell your stylist that you have henna in your hair if you use a boxed henna.

Why because there is a test that they can do to see if you hair contains metallic.
Once the test is performed and if it puts off a bad odor during the test then your hair contains the metallic dye.

So is henna safe for your hair? You bet it is! Just make sure you are using real henna!

As I searched the web I noticed that they are tons of questions about henna for the hair.

Do henna come in different colors? ugh No! Henna only comes in one color..

And that color is red-orange! Does it come in blonde-heck no if so it's fake, brown-no and any other colors. Visit Henna For Hair which is a good site I found that was straight to the point.

What type of Shampoo should You use for your hair?

You need to use the type of Shampoo or conditioner for what you are trying to correct when it comes to your hair.

Here we go.

All purpose shampoo's- this kind of shampoo is designed to cleanse your hair without any special corrections and conditioning. They will not strip your color in your hair and are very mild.

Acid- balanced shampoo's- Shampoos considered in this nature is idea to me because it's formulated to have the same pH as your hair and skin (4.5-5.5) & can be used on all types of hair although they are made to cleanse chemically treated hair without removing or stripping your hair of it's color.

Plain Shampoos, many of us know these kinds huh? Yeah they are the shampoos that you just run in the grocery store or the dollar store to get. These shampoos are strong and contains a soap base. They can be used on virgin hair or hair that's in mighty good condition but are not recommended for chemically treated hair. When using this type of shampoo make sure to was your hair again with a acid balanced shampoo to restore the pH of your hair and skin.

Have everyone ever heard of Soapless Shampoos? it lathers without harsh ingredients and may be good for those who are elderly and can't get out of bed

Medicated Shampoos, are another one of my personal favorites.Medicated Shampoos can correct a lot of problems and can be found in your local pharmacies!!! They make them for dandruff's & other scalp disorders too.

We all may need this next one from time to time. Clarifying Shampoos it removes build up and residue such as dirt build up from your hair. I remember going to the Salon many times and it smelled so good.

I use to get up dos a lot so the hair spray? Um huh, that clarifying shampoo helped me a lot.

Shampoos for thinning hair!! Supposedly these are gentle shampoos with lightweight molecular that does not damage or weigh the your hair down.

Okay that's a wrap. I may do Conditioners and rinses next as there are a lot of hair items out there but are you using the correct ones for your hair.

If you don't have any problems to correct you are good to go.

My hair is one of the most important priorities on my body and I make sure that it stays healthy!

When you hair looks good, you just feel good!

My Favorite Perfume

Okay, we have a fragrance outlet here and I just love the Pink Sugar fragrance by Aquolina, my store only carried samples and I never got a chance to purchase a regular size, I have waited years for them to get this in & they have just stopped carrying the perfume all together. Now after this long wait I just went ahead and purchased me a bottle online. So HAPPY :)

Many say it's for teens but I think every since I was introduced to this fragrance it's the only thing I will wear. It is so sweet and it doesn't take much at all. Yes it make heads Spin. It's a very seductive wear to me and I just like sweet smelling aromas.

Here is the fragrance notes:cotton candy, caramel, raspberry, bergamot, licorice, poweder, fig leaves, orange, strawberry, and wood.

I have read other reviews & many older adults say the same thing, even though most say it's for teens they have wore it for years, I'm in the same boat.

I also got a little bit off to as I ordered a Tester so I hope it's full when I get it. It should arrive Thursday! I'm so excited. I will snap a photo of it soon when it arrives.

Do You Need a Relaxer or a Perm?

Growing up it was always, I need a perm. Do I really want to make my hair curly or straight?
Straight, so I do not need a perm I would need a relaxer for that.

One thing that you need to know.

A Perm is different from a Relaxer.

Either of them are characterized as chemicals in my terms.

Here's the difference.

Perming is the desire for curly or wavy hair which involves rolling your hair around rollers or rods, & then Following the desired steps to apply the solution.

Relaxing is the desire for making roots straight. This involves applying the relaxer to your hair, rinsing it and applying neutralizer.

You can Say my hair needs to be relaxed and if you want a change and want your hair curly you can say I need a Perm.

Sufficient rest and relaxation are as necessary as work for a healthy, happy life. Sleep helps relieve the frustrations and tensions that results in our everyday activities. Most people need six to eight hours of sleep or you can become fatigued and cannot go on with your day properly. Being a Night person will not help early bird gets the worms appointments.

Being able to relax and get away from it all is very important for a healthy body and mind. Reading a Good book, listening to music, watching TV or going for a walk can be of a relaxation, and a change in your pace, allow you to refresh.

Quick Tip: Worry and fear are two emotions that can be injurious to mental health.

Things to help assist you get proper rest.

1. Have discipline when you are visiting social sites. Instead of going from profile to profile or page to page ,log off and enjoy your day.

2. Playing candle crush on your apple or nexus 7 Tablet, trying your best to proceed to the next board. Give it a rest,once you rest up,you will beat that game in no time.

3. Reading books or magazines,can be very relaxing but when those eyes get tired,get some rest.

Do you wear Body Wraps? Roller Sets Wraps, Ect & Whatever, If you wrap your hair around your head at night to sleep

How to repair Split Ends

One of the most common causes of hair breakage is stretching of the hair or traction (putting too much tension or force). Wet hair is more fragile than dry hair. Rubber bands,tight hair clips, and braids, can actually break the cuticle, So can wrapping the hair too tightly around a roller. If the hair has breakage use try using hot oil treatments to strengthen the hair,deep conditioner (a good one so it will not dry the hair out) clip the ends at least once every 2 months. It do not take much. It helps stop the hair from breaking. Try essentials oils they are the best. I like peppermint it gets the blood to moving and stimulates the scalp and slows down breakage and increases hair growth. I try this method every single month. Proceed with caution,I use tea tree,eucalyptus and peppermint faithfully to grow my hair each month.

Other known ways to treat the ends!

Split ends start as a small crack in the cuticle that deepen into the cortex.
Spit Ends can be temporarily sealed by protein reconditioning. The Process must be repeated to keep splits ends closed. It's also advisable to cut off the split ends and reinforce the hair with a protein conditioner to prevent the freshly cut ends from splitting.
