We’ve just launched a new version of the site, which now includes a custom built calendar on top of the news articles as always.

There is improved search, addresses and google maps for all events, and it will be easier to see what’s on this week or this month.

We do however still have a lot to add to the site and appreciate any feedback! Contact us with any comments, suggestions, questions or bugs you find!

We’d also like to announce that we have a new contributor to the site, you may know him as grum (on twitter and in the general perth social and web scene). He’ll be adding events and writing news articles along with myself.

Abbe May & the Rockin’ Pneumonia launch their new EP Hawaiian Disease at the Rosemount Hotel tonight (Friday) and the Fly By Night on Saturday night.

Van She perform at Capitol on Saturday night.

Diesel is performing at several venues throughout Perth over the next few days.

The 13th annual Nocturnal Ball is held at Metro City on Monday (6 July).

It’s NAIDOC Week from 5 to 12 July, events all over Perth!

The Black Eyed Peas perform at Burswood Dome in Perth on Saturday 10 October 2009.

Chris Isaak returns to Perth and performs at Challenge Stadium on Wednesday 16 September 2009.

There are very few performers quite like Chris Isaak. A raucous rocker, yet an old-fashioned American crooner. A certified sex symbol, yet one of the most sensitive songwriters of the past three decades.
Join Chris Isaak as he plays music from his recent album Mr. Lucky as well as the hits we all know so well including Wicked Game, Baby Did A Bad Bad Thing, Somebody’s Crying and Blue Hotel. He will accompanied by his long time, trusty band Silvertone.

Chris Isaak has joined with the well-respected charity organisation “Challenge – Supporting Kids With Cancer”, who will be the recipients of proceeds from a number of ticket initiatives.

Eddie Kowalczyk of Live performs an intimate acoustic show at the Octagon Theatre in Perth on Wednesday 12 August 2009.

Eddie Kowalczyk is widely known as the singer and front-man of one the most popular and enduring rock bands of the last two decades, LIVE. Popular single releases include I Alone, Lightning Crashes, Selling The Drama, Lakini’s Juice, The Dolphin’s Cry, and Heaven.

Eddie will perform a career-spanning set of songs from LIVE in these solo-acoustic theatre performances.

The Live at the Quarry series is back, with Sarah Blasko performing on Thursday 12 November 2009 at the Quarry Amphitheatre.

Sarah Blasko’s live shows have always been renowned for their unique and at times theatrical elements. Her national tour in October to unveil the new album, “As Day Follows Night” promises to be no different. Recreating the sounds of her third record with core members of her touring band, Sarah will also be introducing some new textures to the ensemble with strings and percussion to augment the line up.

Over the peak summer season at the Quarry Amphitheatre, Live At The Quarry will bring together Australia‘s finest performers with fresh local talent to provide the audience with an intimate experience that is quintessentially Western Australian. Gourmet food, fine wine and even more tantalising refreshments are available to help event goers unwind on the terraced lawns prior to the performances and make the most of Perth’s balmy summer evenings. Geoffrey Gurrumul-Yunupingu performs at the Perth Concert Hall on Thursday 20 August 2009.

Multi ARIA Award winner Geoffrey Gurrumul Yunupingu who performed to full houses at the recent PIAF will return to Perth to perform his full concert for the first time in Perth. This Arnhem Land man sings with a startling imagery about the beauty of a world he has never seen. Gurrumul will be backed by the highly regarded Erkki string quartet featuring 2008 ARIA nominee (producer of the year) Michael Hohnen on double bass, Francis Diatschenko on Spanish guitar and violinist Erkki Velheim.

Jamie T tours Australia, and will be performing at the Fly By Night in Fremantle on Tuesday 25 September and at the Wave Rock Weekender Festival (26-28 September).

Some two and a half years after the release of his Mercury nominated debut album ‘Panic Prevention’ and almost 2 years to the day since his last Australian visit, JAMIE T and his band THE PACEMAKERS are set to return to our wintry shores this coming September for a highly anticipated national tour.

One Movement For Music will see leaders in the national and international music industry hit Perth on the hunt to sign their next big act and you’re lucky enough to be invited to join the party.

It’s a big industry event, but there will also be a big showcase event for the general public on Saturday and Sunday.

The One Movement Music Showcase Festival is unlike any festival the Southern Hemisphere has ever experienced with 80 artists playing unique 30-minute showcase sets, premiering their latest material in a full outdoor festival setting over two days at Perth Esplanade.
