We kicked in the New Year by going to the movies. Today’s show we talk about The Savages starring Laura Linney and Philip Seymour Hoffman. We also talk about the Coneheads, Roger Moore’s Sicko, and a movie starring nothing but drag queens called Girls Will Be Girls. It examines the lives of New Orleans natives, David Cross and his wife Ms. Pearl, who opened up their backyard as temporary housing after Hurricane Katrina to 14 displaced people. Can you imagine 14 strangers living in your backyard? We talk about the various people from a pregnant crack addict to a religious zealot who talks to Joan of Arc to a woman who likes to pop out her glass eye. Are there homophobic undertones, a hidden political message, or is it all about the 300 hot men? Later, we are joined by our friends, Roland and Robert, to talk about the film versus the graphic novel and real history. Somehow we end up talking about drag queen waiters at the IHOP and people peeing on the side of the road. In other words, a typical episode of Enter Hollywood.
