Muar Memory Revisit... Part 1: The Unsung Heros

Yesterday, i was listening to some chinese worship songs, i was suddenly reminded of the wonderful times we had in Muar. I realised that they are so many things that i had caught, but since then i had failed to live to what i had learned and inspired to become. Haiii... therefore before i totally forget what i had learn, i want to capture these memories in my blog and pray that it will really remind me of the lessons i had learn from the wonderful people over in Muar.

Characters

Pastor Lilian

Tireless worker of God, just keep on going even when the team was down and needed to rest. She made sure we are well rested, then she continued going. She really lives as if Christ is coming back tml. Great Woman of God! She was the one who was so humbled to drive us to Johor Bahru. Making all the arrangement for our accomodation and transport to and fro Singapore and Muar.

Anointed woman of God who preached a message that really convicted a thief to return the stolen IPHONE on the spot. How powerful can it gets?!

Mei Zhu Mama

Powerful Ground player. She was on the ground to take care every needs of the team. She was really like our Mama. Her wonderful story of her actual prodigal son and how God uses her to be 'Mama' of many really touches my heart.

How can anyone forget the way she did her visitation to a bed ridden granny. She gave me a revision on the real purpose and the way a visitation should be done. Great woman of God. Powerful!

Xiulan Jie

I will never forget her willingness to serve the younger ones. Her pure heart to love and wept so uncontrollably in front of her own children for the move of God in her church, and the young people in the church.

''Don't just teach the young people. What about me? Can anyone teach me?'' Her openess to even learn from kids like us from CHC, remains a constant reminder that i should never take pride in the things i had done.

Ah Chuan

Being a male elder in the church, he took up the responsiblities of picking and sending the kids home at night. He did what a mature christian would do to us, a guest team.

Even though he is not educated. He firmly believes what a man should do and he do it well. Taking up The MAN'S responsibilities. Back in CHC, there are a lot of educated doing the uneducated. This man is truely the man of God.

Peter

A business man, a very successsful one indeed. However he was always reminded of reaching out, doing visitation during office hours.

Heard that we are coming, he makes arrangements to take us out for lunch and treated all of us. Humble man. Not a lot of people drives BMW in Muar. He does and yet remains humble and teachable. This guy will SHAME those who are rich and proud just because they come from rich families.

Suntec City Mall (Chinese: 新达城广场) is a shopping centre in Singapore, located within the Marina Centre. Opened in 1995 together with initial phases of the Suntec City development, it was the largest shopping centre in Singapore with of retail space until the opening of Vivo City in 2006. **It also offers a club house called the Suntec City Guild House located on the fifth storey.**

Popularity

Suntec City is one of the largest commercial developments in Singapore. Suntec City was awarded Prix d' Excellence awards for excellence in **all aspects of real estate development (Overall winner and Commercial / Retail winner) in 1999**. Suntec has claimed other prizes, including the 1998 Tourism Award from the Singapore Tourism Board.

Suntec City has featured three times on The Amazing Race reality television show. Once on the US version Season 3 and twice on the Asian version in both Season 1 and 2.

At the centre of Suntec City lies the Fountain of Wealth , which Suntec claims to be the largest fountain in the world; this claim has however been contested, with Fountain Hills in Arizona (Picture on left) also claiming the title.

Design

Suntec City was designed by Tsao & McKown Architects with emphasis on Chinese Feng Shu. The five buildings and the convention center are arranged so that they look like a left hand when viewed aerially. The Foundation of Wealth appears like a golden ring in the palm of the hand. As the fountain is made of bronze, it is believed that the balance of metal and water paves the way for success. Further, the specially selected Chinese name, 新达, means "new achievement".

Zoning

The large size of the mall boasts some 360 outlets spread over 3 floors in an L-shaped configuration. To help shoppers to navigate around the mall, it was divided into four zones, namely:

• The Galleria (Chinese: 画廊区), located on the ground floor of the Suntec Singapore International Convention and Exhibition Centre offering high-end international labels targeted specifically at convention delegates and tourists.

• The Tropics (Chinese: 热带区) offers a more wide-ranging choice of outlets for a wider budget range, with added emphasise on lifestyle merchandise and services.

• The Fountain Terrace (Chinese: 喷泉区) is located around the Fountain of Wealth and specialises in food and beverage outlets.

• The Entertainment Centre (Chinese: 娱乐区) at the north-eastern end of the mall is dedicated to entertainment-related tenants such as a 5-theatre cineplex, a fitness centre, a gaming arcade, as well as the site of Carrefour‘s first outlet in Singapore, occupying 13,006 square metres (140,000 square feet) over two floors.

The Suntec Singapore International Convention And Exhibition Centre

The Suntec Singapore International Convention and Exhibition Centre (Chinese: 新達城新加坡國際會議展覽中心), branded as Suntec Singapore, was officially opened on 30 August 1995 as part of the Suntec City development. Previously known as the Singapore International Convention and Exhibition Centre (SICEC), its current name was adopted on 29 October 2001 as part of a rebranding exercise.

LYL Overnight Prayer Meeting 24 March 2010

Last night, we had our 2nd LYL zone wide overnight prayer meeting for the year 2010, it was again a great encounter with God. I was the guitarist in the Picture! Always thank God to be able to serve God in this way. Played a total of 8 songs in the space of 2 hours!!

During the second session, We did something very refreshing! All present were to read finish the book of Philippians. And out of the 4 books of Philippians, we were to 'revelationalist' and apply it in our lifes. (later going to share more about my revelation in Philippians 3:20)

For the 3rd Session. WOOHooo my Bro Calvin Choo did a fantastic, wonderful, Godly, Spiritual, Revelational prayer meeting. The main aim of the 3rd session, was to pray for Easter. But God's Plans are always higher than our plans. God's presence was sooooo strong, in the end the stage was set for God to move and minister in our life. Members were so touched by the love of God, many including some LYL leaders responded and were moved to tears. God is Good!!

Philippians 3:20

But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ.

This is a very simple passage but 2 words/phrase actually stood out and hit me, and i was there dumbfounded by God's 'blog' (only some would understand).

Citizenship:

I check out the meaning of Citizenship in Wiki, it states Citizenship status, under social contract theory, carries with it both rights and responsibilities. "Active citizenship" is the philosophy that citizens should work towards the betterment of their community through economic participation, public service, volunteer work, and other such efforts to improve life for all citizens. Let us go through some rights and responsibilities and as i go through these, pls try to relate it to the heavenly citizenship.

We are to serve National Service. We are to fight for our nation when there are adversaries. Aren't we proud of Singaporeans when they achieve great things to do the nation proud? Each of us are issued with a NRIC card. Behind is a physical address (would God had already prepare a house for us in heaven?) In front of the IC card, is our photo (would God have memoried all our looks?) The list goes on and on. Are your bearing the responsiblities of our heavenly kingdom? Are you enjoying the rights of our heavenly citizenship?

Eagerly await:

This word eagerly await really stunned me. While we were waiting, how do we eagerly wait for the second coming. How do we eagerly wait? What must we do to wait eagerly.

For the pass 3 weeks, i had been going for interviews after interviews. (After writing finish this post i will be rushing to bugis for one interview again.) Before all interviews, i eagerly await for my turn.

1) In my head, i visualised myself in the interview room with the interviewer.

2) I fully anticipate what the interviewer is going to ask me.

3) Before i go into the interview room. I want to equip myself with the correct answers to all possible questions

4) I want to go in confident and without any fear

5) I want to look the best, dress the best

6) The only answer i want to hear is, well done i would like to offer this job.

Are we doing the same waiting to the second coming of christ, just like we did before all interviews? something to think about.

I done a quick search in the internet and found a few things that are really true and worth taking a look at especially you are a woman... guys should take note also la....

How Big is the Baby at Thirteen Weeks Pregnant?

During pregnancy week 13 your baby is 2.9 inches long and weighs up to .8 ounces. Though the baby is significantly larger, he is still pretty tiny. Fortunately, there is plenty of room to expand in the uterus.

Baby's Growth and Development

By the end of pregnancy week 13, the baby looks like a tiny yet fully formed baby. While the baby's head is still quite large, his body is starting to catch up. The baby's eyes are starting to move closer together by pregnancy 13 weeks. Up until this point in time, they rested closely along the sides of the head. The baby's intestines are also moving further into the body, and the baby's tiny pancreas is starting to produce insulin, which will be vital for regulating the baby's sugar levels later in life!

Your uterus is continuing to grow at pregnancy week 13, and as it grows, you may start feeling some aching or discomfort in your abdomen. This is perfectly normal. The ligaments that surround your uterus will stretch in the upcoming weeks to accommodate your baby, and this stretching often results in what is called round ligament pain.

Round ligament pain is fairly common by 13 weeks pregnant, but it can be alarming if you have never experienced it before. It usually feels like a brief but sharp or stabbing pain in your abdomen, but you may also feel a dull ache in the lower abdomen that lasts for a short time. Most often women feel this when they get up suddenly or change position. You might feel this pain as you attempt to roll over in bed.

If you experience any pain that is accompanied by other symptoms, such as cramping, bleeding or vomiting, you should call your doctor immediately. Usually round ligament pain doesn't last more than a few minutes. If you have persistent pain, something else might be going on that warrants a trip to your doctor.

In most cases, simply relaxing can relieve round ligament pain. Be sure you rest comfortable and stop any activity that was causing you discomfort. Try to remember to get up slowly each time you get out of bed or move to the sofa. This will become more and more necessary as your uterus continues to expand and you grow larger and larger.

Congratulations! For many women, pregnancy week 13 is a time to celebrate. A pregnancy at 13 weeks means you are entering your second trimester, which means your risk for miscarriage drops substantially. You are much more likely to carry your baby to term now that you have made it to 13 weeks. Some women, however, are still at risk for miscarrying through their 20th week.

You will also probably start feeling remarkably better in the upcoming weeks. Instead of feeling tired all the time and nauseous, you may find that you have a newfound sense of health and vigor.

By 13 weeks pregnant, you will want to wear loose fitting clothing. You still might not be big enough to fit into maternity clothes, but chances are your favorite pair of jeans are no longer your favorite simply because they do not fit as well.

Your breasts will continue to change throughout your pregnancy week by week. In addition to the darkening of your areolas, you might start noticing the veins in your breasts are more prominent. Some women also start developing larger benign bumps on their breasts during pregnancy. The lumpy bumps surrounding the areola are glands that will grow and develop as your pregnancy continues.

Finally, my baby did a Scan, and found out to be 13 weeks and 3 days old. The baby is now 7.29cm long!

Our Memory vs PC Memory

This week CGM, we talk about forgetting not His Benefit. We must always remember the Goodness of God. What He had spoken to us through His word/ His Servants. I realised it was actually quite interesting to understand our memory and how similar it is to the PC/ Notebook memory.

There are several types of memories that used is used in a personal computer for different tasks. These are the basic types of memory:

•RAM
•ROM
•Cache
•Flash Memory
•Virtual memory
•BIOS

When i first read the different types of Memories, The first 3 kinds of memories stucked me hard because it seems like i can totally relate to these 3 in my personal life. Especially the ROM And the RAM, where its illustrations really comes in handy for my cgm :)

Cache
The cache in the computer is used a temporary holding space for frequently accessed data so it can be accessed quicker. Cache is usually stored as small files on the hard drive for easy access later.
I dont know about you, I always use this part of my memory when i study for exams. The notes i studied will always be stored in my 'temporary holding space'. Because for a short period of time, i need them to be at the tips of my fingers (liken to the computer's cache memory - for easy access).

RAM – Random Access Memory
RAM is most known type of memory for a computer. When someone is referring to how much memory is in their computer they are referring to RAM. The RAM is either connected to the motherboard by a socket connection or integrated directly on the board. Every computer comes with some amount of RAM that usually can be increased by the user. In general, the more RAM on a computer the better the performance. This is liken to our main memory, the capacity of our memory seems to be always limited. We tend to forget things because the RAM is overloaded. We stored almost everything inside this part of the memory. We choose what we want to store in our memory, the good, the bad, the ugly, the sinful, etc... sometimes we store too much unneccesaries, which reduced the perfomance of our 'PC'. (unused application/icon in your desktop?)

ROM – Read Only Memory
ROM is memory contained in a computer that is not easily modified and is usually used to store the initial program or information that a computer needs to run before the operating system is loaded. This is liken to our past. Can be good, can be bad memory. These are not easily modified and this part of the memory needs to be run before we really start our 'operating system'/ start storing in our 'RAM'. Isn't it true that majority of our past always runs in our mind first before we can actually 'load' and make decision of our life?

If we are not careful, there is always tendency to remember what we need to forget and forget what we need to remember. and that is because we stored what is to be stored in the ROM into RAM and vice versa.

The 'RAM' is an important part of our memory, we cannot store everything and anything inside our 'RAM'. Because it really reduced our performances as a person. Therefore, clear your desktop! clear the unwanted applications in your life. Applications of sin, lying, pronography to things like procastination, bitterness etc. Run the application in your life well! Be focus. Clear the unwanted things! Dont waste space!!

Putting ROM into RAM.
It is especially dangereous when we dont utilised ROM in our life. When we store all our past in our RAM. We cannot operate in the past be it good or bad. We must operate without the past BUT! we should always be reminded of the past. Thats why it is such a beautiful thing that ROM is run before the Operating System.

Are you constantly living in the past... if you are, maybe you had stored all your past in your 'RAM'. We need to put conscious effort to separate this part of our memory from our 'RAM' if not, it is really hard to operate and run the more important applications in our life.

True Love Prevails

Man United 4 Milan 0! Thats was the reason why i purposely went down to the nearest 7-11 store to grab The Newpaper. But soon after i gotten that Newpaper, my eyes were glued on the Jack Neo affair. Before i go into the article, i want to first comment on the News Conference where Irene Kng, Jack Neo's wife fainted. The article reads...

The news conference ended when Mdm Kng started crying. As she was walking off the stage, she fainted. And the photographers and cameramen swamped to the stage to take her photos. Neo screamed at them to stop filming and get away from her. One of Neo's colleagues Ah Nan rushed to the stage and also yelled at the photographers and cameramen to get away from Mdm Kng.

I couldn't believe that was what the photographers did to a fainted woman. Did they go through civil morale education? 0 EQ, 0 morale well maybe thats the important job requirement for the media to employ these people. Well enough had been said. Citynews will be the light that shines in this industry!

Lets go back to the Newpaper Article. There are almost 5 pages of news with regards to this incident. but there are really just 2 parts to the article i wanted to comment (The rest perhaps they got nothing more to write thats why they copied and pasted from the news of the previous days).

Should Wife have forgiven him so soon?

Part of the article reads...

But former Netball President Ivy Singh-Lim's Husband, Mr Lim Ho Seng wouldn't be so lucky. If she ever caught him cheating, she would kill him 'slowly and painfully'. Or at least make sure she gets everything in the divorce.

''The world is full of evil man and stupid women. But Mrs Neo is not stupid as she has accepted that all men are bast****. The only difference is the degree (of that belief).

My Gosh... what a comment by the former Netball President Ivy Singh-Lim. What is she trying to instigate by saying all these? To her the only and happy ending to the Neo's story is that the parents eventually divorced and the kids goes without complete family plus Mrs Neo getting everything out of the divorce and not forgetting Jack Neo eventually 'killed' slowly and painfully. 'All man are evil/ Bast****'. Sorry, to Mr Lim (husband), his father, father in law and any of their future baby boys... thats what the former Netball President thinks of you.

If Singapore government is practising religion freedom and take serious actions to those who trying to instigate disunity. Shouldn't such comment be taken out of the papers as well? After saying so much. I am actually very interested to know how our former netball president look like... pls go all the way down to my blog if you are interested too.

Pastor counselling the couple says... Jack is definitely remorseful now

''The pastor said he was surprised by the confession but he declined to reveal what Jack had told him''

''Rev Tan said: '' Jack is definitely remorseful now, and he plans to apologise to the public. He has no intention of letting the matter drag on.''

''Does he think the couple's marriage of 27 years will survive the scandal? Probably yes he said. '' Irene has choosen to forgive Jack.'' Thats why this couple is making tremendous progress in rebuilding their marriage.

''Jack is now spending a lot of time with his wife and children. Spending quality time is important for the marriage to work. he said. Because it take time for the heart to heal.''

''Has Rev Tan been shocked by the many reports if jack's alleged affairs with various woman?'' Since Jack and his wife had come to me. They are my focus for now. I'm not in a position to comment on other matters.''

WOOOHOO aren't you proud of our Rev Tan. Unlike the many women whom all choose to reveal and put salt to the wound of Jack. Rev Tan chose not to. He is totally professional, totally pastoral, totally human. I cannot help but be reminded of the adultereous woman in the bible. Jesus said. Let those who are without sin cast the first stone at the adulereous woman. Rev Tan not only talk the talk. But he also walk the walk.

And aren't you proud on what PK and CHC had always taught us? Making Marriage work, The importance of spending quality time. Rev Tan had indeed shown the world of Media and those who thinks man are evil and woman are stupid what true God's love is. With such grace and love shown, there is no wonders that even Mrs Neo is open to communicate with Rev Tan and Jack.

Perhaps the difference is

The media just wanted to make money out of this story.

The 'all man are evil and women are stupid' mentally wanted their own 'fairly tale' ending to this story.

Rev Tan wanted God's way of ending to this story.

I can already see one day, Jack and his family coming up on the CHC stage, happy, blessed, grateful of the people and love that God had put in their lifes. True love prevails and God's love brings reconciliation.

After reading and hearing so much on the media, i cannot help but also focus on the ladies and this is what this post is about. Lets us turn our attention to what is closer to home...

Wendy Chong, 22 broke the news on the her two-year affair with Jack Neo. The heading of the article... We Had Sex in the Car. In the reported article, Wendy Chong TOLD THE WORLD that JUST a month after meeting Jack Neo at an audition for Money No Enough 2 in 2008, they had sex with the Singaporean movie director in his car.

I cannot help but to also wonder how 'unwilling' it was for her to have sex in the car after knowing a man for just a month. Yes, Jack Neo was sinful. But what about her? Back in the traditional days, isnt both the adultereous pair needed to be stoned? So why she is going to Jack Neo's House and demanding to see his wife? What was she thinking when she first accepted Jack Neo? Is it out of Love or something else? If it was out of Love, Why explosed your love one in the media? Why cry foul and act like she is the victim throughout? Love desires to give. What she is doing, desires to take... desire to take the limelight.

Another lady had come out of the box nowhere and testified that Jack Neo had wanted to 'get closer to' a then 16 year old. The report stated that how the 'victim's' mum was so disgusted about what had happen 5 yrs ago.

Well, actually just by looking at the picture disgust me. Picture paints a thousand words isn't it. Aren't they just want to share the limelight? They looked so 'satisfied' in featuring on the Newpaper.

Well, i dont want to defend Jack Neo. He is wrong to do whatever he had done. But all those who labelled themselves as victims, laughing at the plight of Jack Neo? Since when the adultereous woman gets such 'incentives'?

The Velvet Covered Brick

Over the last 2 Saturdays, the LYL leaders had the privilege to be trained and equiped in Riverwalk by one of the best trainer in the Equiping Leaders for Asia Organisation. I call her "Chelsea''

''Chelsea'' asked us do an assessment on the type of leadership we are and also she had define the ideal leadership model of the us. Lets talk about the Ideal leadership first.

The Velvet Covered Brick

Good leaders posses both strength and sensitivity. They are both tough and tende. They are soft on the outside (relational) but firm as a brick on the inside ( principle-centred). Becasue they are emotionally secure, they are able to handle confrontation and conflicts in a healthy way.Two of the bible example of a velvet covered brick is Apostle Paul and Jesus Himself.

Apostle Paul

Apostle Paul had to confront the Corinthian Church for not handling immorality in one of her members. Notice in the first letter, (1Cor 5:1-13) he was a brick. He was dealing with the sin directly! However in the second letter (2 Cor 2:1-11) he was a velvet he became redemptive.

Jesus Christ

Jesus, Himself is a velvet-covered brick. Consider how he confronted the seven churches. (Rev2-3). The church iat Ephesus is the first case-study. Note how Jesus deals with them.

1) How Jesus forcused on the good in the people

2) Acknoeledged their loyalty and strong points

3) Communicated the problem clearly

4) Offered a Solution.

Before i get to the self assessment of the leadership style, i like to comment on 3 leaders in our Zone which i had known to have this kind of Velvet Covered Brick Leadership style. Incidentally, they are my bosses...

The Dynamic Duo!! They are one of the firmest leaders in the zone. Each have a few CGLs under them. If you dont know them well enough, you will think wow. Better not mess with them lest the bears appear out of nowhere. They are also often the most misunderstood ones. They are one of my best friends in the zone and outside the zone. Fun loving, jokes around, entertain the other leaders in the zone. I think all the N282, W382 present and previous members can testify to that.

Yilun, is also that kind of velvet cover brick leader. But she is often misunderstood in a different manner as teh previous two. Everyone has to 'bow down and worship' her Velvet charecter. She is the ''Think of everyone welfare'' awardwinner. She is SOOOOO sensitive to the needs of people around her. BUT (we are taught not to use this word), when comes to the disciplines of her life. Why I can relate to Teddy Bear?

I will make peace however i can; I dont mind losing if i am wrong. But if i am right, i will explain... if my explaination doesnt go in no matter what, then forget it. The person insist his way, no point to argue.

It was indeed a very interesting session, knowing each other leadership style. There is really no perfect leader bah. Different individual loves different style of leadership. Just like the 5 different love languages. We give and we receive different way of loves this is liken to when we receive different way of leadership. In the end, to lead, really is to love.

What Should I name my Child?

6 more months! And I am getting more and more excited by the days... A few burning questions in my heart... and also common questions people will ask me... So is it a boy or a girl? What name do you have in mind?

Well for the first question. Must wait until the 5th month before i know is it a Boy or a Girl. Which is ard May 1st. hmmm maybe i should do a countdown timer in my side blog.

Tower of Babel vs Marketplace Building

This week, is the week when Pastor is going to reveal the exact location of our building!! It is so exciting! To be frank, i dont think my heart is ready to receive that news. I might faint when the location is announced.

Throughout this week, while i was praying for confirmation of the Pledge amount to give for the next 4 months. God brought me to the story in the bible in Genesis. The story of the Tower of Babel...

In this story, the children of God were trying to build a tower up to heaven. Their initial attempt to build this tower is so that they could have access to God, they could reach God, See God, Fellowship with God. However, as the tower was built higher and higher, God saw the change of the people hearts. Soon instead of Exalting the Name of God. They wants to exalt themselves to the level of God.

As the days of the news are getting near, we need to really examine our hearts when we pledge this weekend. Yes this building is going to be a ICONIC Building. This building we are building will make history. This building will put us into the limelight once again. It is easy for us to get carried away by all these. But as we pledge, we need to give with an attitude that exalts HIS name.

Do you have an amount? or do you already have an amount but that was pledged with a wrong atitude???

It is also very interesting to see how God dealt with the people when they had the change of hearts. God confused their language! God began to divide them... In our church history, not once we have a church split. As the days are nearer. We really need to guide ourselves.

Tower of Babel was built meant to draw the people closer to God, this is liken to our Marketplace building. But is the end The Tower of Babel splits the 'Church' back then. Let this be a lesson learnt, and a warning as we pledge this weekend.

Is Samson a DUMB?

Yesterday, our Zone had a wonderful Prayer meeting. As usual, Yilun Preach a powerful Message which had left goshbumps. One illustration she gave was the life of a great bible personel call Samson.

Who is Samson. Samson is one of the judges who judge Isreal for 20 yrs (Judges 16:21). He was a great man of God. God blessed him with great strength. He was just like the HULK!!

However, this guy had a weakness. He has a soft spot for woman, pretty woman in particular hmmm maybe the rainie type, but thats not the point. Samson met this woman call Delilah which really destroy his own entire life!!

In Judges 16: 5
And the lords of the Philistines came up unto her (Delilah), and said unto her, Entice him, and see wherein his great strength lieth, and by what means we may prevail against him, that we may bind him to afflict him; and we will give thee every one of us eleven hundred pieces of silver.

Thereafter, in 3 seperate occasions, Delilah asked Samson... tell me dear, tell me wherein thy great strength lieth? But each time Samson didnt tell her the truth.

1)If they bind me with seven green withs that were never dried, then shall I be weak, and be as another man. Judges 16: 7
2)If they bind me fast with new ropes that never were occupied, then shall I be weak, and be as another man Judges 16:11
3)If thou weavest the seven locks of my head with the web. Judges 16:13

And each time the Philistines break into the room and tried these methods on Samson, Samson break free from them. But wait! IS SAMSON A DUMB? He a judge of Isreal for 20yrs... Doesnt he least suspected Delilah. Even a Dumb will know or at least suspected Delilah was the one who gave him away each time.

The truth is Samson was not DUMB at all. What was his problem then? He was over confident. He was confident that in every dangereous situation he has the ability to overcome all... even at the fourth time when Samson did tell Delilah the truth that His mighty strength lies in his hair. He was still confident to overcome any possible danger.

Does anyone purpose to fail? NO! No one in life started out wanting to fail. Same to Samson. Even to the fourth time when he leaks the truth, he didnt purpose at that point of the time to fail. He was just over confident... over confident that he can do it even without God.

What can we learn in this lesson?
A lot of us toy with temptations. Fully confident that we will not fall into the temptations. That its no big deal. Even if we fall, God will still be with us. Isn't esp true for couples to stay overnight at each other house? As Christians, we are taught that our bodies are the temples of God. In another words, no pre-martial sex.

Couples are overly confident that they will not fall into temptations. Esp after a few time staying over, they enjoyed the experiences without having pre-martial sex. They became even more confident, more bold. Just look at Samson. The progression of his answers to Delilah requests and finally giving in to her. Each time his answers were closer to the truth, closer to giving in to her. This lesson doesnt just applies to dating couple. Any form of temptations we are facing day in day out...

Are you toying with temptations? Are you overly confident? Are you careless? Are you a DUMB?

Jumping ahead of the Right Prayer

22nd of Feb 2010 - Day 1 of Week of Prayer

Today, was the first day of the first week of prayer of 2010.

I had written down and prayed for 3 of my inner most desires of 2010.

1) A full time Job
2) Family protection
3) W376

After praying, one thing really struck me. Its nothing new but is something that God really wants me to take notice.

A) A full time Job - God, this is your seed, My financial Breakthrough
B) Family Protection - God, this is your seed, My Family
C) W376 - God, this is your seed, my ministry

I realised everything that i prayed for, they are God's seed. And if everything were to come to pass, the very first physical action done is by God sowing his seed into my life.

Realising that, i immediately change my style of praying. Instead of praying God gives me a Full time JOB! God Protect my Family, God bless every single W376 Members, my personal prayer had become God sow your need into my financial blessing, God sow your seed into my family relationships, God sow your seeds into the fruits of my ministry!

Inconclusion, I realise after this monrning, people tend to pray ahead of time. Instead of praying for harvest to come, we should be praying for good condition of the ground and the seed. Perhaps i had missed out of the fundamentals of prayers all these while.

To build a life with Strong Foundation. Our Prayers should be aiming at the Foundations of our life, not the successes.

Final Day of CNY Holiday

Today is the final day of CNY holiday! Tiffany and I went to one of my closest friend house to play Mahjong!! And of course we didnt gamble. We had 2 tables of Mahjong. 9 players came and play!! All had a great great time!

Well of course, we also had a pleasant surprise! My friend just adopted a new dog and called it Peanut. Just 2 months old!! very very cute. Just by playing with the Peanut, it must be the highlight of my CNY holidays.

2nd Kind of Faith - Enthusiastic Faith

Last week, We talk about Mary's Persistent Faith. On how her Faith had made Jesus's first miracle possible. This week, there is another kind of faith that really caught my attention in the bible... Enthusiastic Faith of Moses.

Exo 3:1-10 Moses and the burning bush.

Moses didnt start off with Great mountain moving faith. Within the burning bush encounter with God. He repeatedly doubted what God said to him. Responses like who am i? What if they ask me what is His name? What if they dont believe me? i am not eloquent. What kind of man was Moses? He was a timid man. He had no confidence about himself. God had to reassure him again and again.

But the truth of the matter is God is asking Moses to do the impossible. Moses had killed a soldier back in Egypt! He had turned his back from Pharaoh, the very person he had grown up with during his childhood. And now God was telling him to go back to Egypt! Just Imagine for a moment, would you dare to go back to a place where you had committed a sin as bad as murder and the authorities are after you?

Would Mas Selamat dare to come back to Singapore after escaping from Singapore to Malaysia? God's direction to Moses is as good as asking Mas Selamat to come back to Singapore... Who would have such faith? Moses had...
I wonder how many of us have had bad experiences before. These setbacks have paralyzed us. We told ourselves that we would never step out and do something different, that we would never take risks, because we never want to experience failure again. All the bad experiences we went through only serve to remind us that we are never good enough.

Our past serve as a constant reminder for us not to make the same mistake again. However our past cannot crippled us. No one can drive smoothly forward by looking into the rear mirror everytime he drives. In side the rear mirror speaks of our past. The path that we had taken. The purpose of the rear mirror is really to warn us of the danger not cripple us.

Do you have the faith of Moses? A never dying faith. A faith that is always enthusiastic no matter what kind of past we come from.

The Right Attitude on Tithing - CNY

Is CNY again. This is a period of Blessings... all unmarried will get AngBaos.. Lots of Angbaos... i remember last time i would get at least 130 dollars worth of Angbao money.

Of course as a christian, I was taught to always give God 10% of my increase. As a Christian for 10 yrs. I have not had any problem in the area of Tithing. I also do it the right way, The right amount and at the right time.

Sadly not all Christian does it the correct way. They either give with the wrong attitude, Wrong amount, or wrong timing(Late). Which, i really wonder why. So what exactly is the correct attitude in giving our monthly Tithe? I had been thinking about it for a long long time. Only until recently, i happen to think of a near perfect illustration to illustrate in the different Attitudes in giving our monthly Tithe.

I am a Property Agent. So lets do it the Agent way...

As an practising agent. Every deal we closed, we have to give a certain percentage of our commission to the agency. Right now i am giving 10% to my agency. Which i am very reluntant to do so.Why do i have to give my agency 10% of my commission?! It is not as if they help me? The Fact is they didnt even guide me. Whatever Job done is by my own strength, own effort, own time, own blood and sweat!

Isn't that the thinking of a lot of Christian? I earn my money with my own strength, my own sweat and Blood. Why do i need to pay the 'AGENCY' Money. Why do God says that my 10% is his and if i dont give to Him, I am stealing... HAhahaa after in the property line i sudddenly feel i can relate to most christian who refuse to give their tithe to God.

But i realise soon after there is another type of 10% we need to give out of our commission. Thats is call Referral Fee.

In property line, there is something call the referral fee. Meaning when ever someone refer a client to me, once i manage to close that deal, 10% my commission is due to him. This 10% is the same amount to give to the agency. But this 10%, i totally give willing. There are a few reasons why...

1) Without this person who refer the client to me, i will not have gotten the commission.

2) Even though i gave 10%, i know this 10% will encourage the person to come back to me whenever he has other contacts whom he can refer to.

3) The more prompt i give the 10% referral fee, the more willing he is to refer client to me.

Wooohooo, isn't that the attitude we should have in give God our Tithe?

1a) Without God who refer this job to me, i will not have gotten this monthly salary/ Sales

1b) This 10% i gave to God will encourage God to bless me even more

1c) Tithing should be our first fruits. If we put him first, We will be the first one God thought of to refer more 'deals' to us.

LYL 2010 Camp Site 1

Inspired by our CHC style of Finding a Site to Build our new CHC building. I going to do up a ongoing update search for our LYL Camp June 2010 campsite.

The first Site that we explored is Punggol 17th Avenue OBS Campsite. Looking at the picture. This place seems a bit old. I took 1hour 45mins to reach the campsite from Bukit Batok. This far is crazily far from my house!

What i like about the place is the breeze you get there. I can actually feel and hear the sea from the site. Look at the picture, the opposite shore is actually Malaysia! Now i have no surprise that Mas Selemat's escape to Malaysia.

There are a also 2 empty rooms for us to do some small actitivites. hmm size of the room... about the size of a 3room flat.

You want to know the living condition of this campsite... we are suppose to pitch our tents at this open area. hmmm there are a few open spaces for us to have our activtives as well. But they are very small... too small even for Mega Cell groups like Jessica's W532.

So finally in conclusion.

The Special Month, The Shortest Month - Feb

I was in my Weekly Zone Meeting at Riverwalk. When one of my friend, Jasmine Kon prayed and mentioned about the month of Feb. It really triggers something in me to find out more about this Special Month. Every time i got this feeling to find out more... i believe God is trying to tell me something...

Have you ever wonder things like why are there leap years. Why leap years affects only the month of Feb. Why second month of the year is call February? Does it have any a special meaning?

I did a short research on the web and found something interesting

February was named after the Latin term februum, which means Purification, via the purification ritual Februa held on February 15 in the old Roman calendar.

January and February were the last two months to be added to the Roman calendar, since the Romans originally considered winter a monthless period. They were added by Numa Pompilius about 700 BCE. February remained the last month of the calendar year until the time of the decemvirs (c. 450 BCE), when it became the second month.

In the Gregorian calendar, the current standard calendar in most of the world, most years that are evenly divisible by 4 are leap years. In each leap year, the month of February has 29 days instead of 28. Adding an extra day to the calendar every four years compensates for the fact that a period of 365 days is shorter than a solar year by almost 6 hours. (6x4 = 24 hours = an additional day)

As i had said earlier, everytime i strongly wants to find out certain things i believe God wants to reveal some things to me. I was praying, asking God. Why? and what do You want to reveal through this shortest month of the year?

After praying long, i think i know what God wants to tell me @ the shortest month of the year...

From Matthew 24 all the way to Matthew Chapter 25. Jesus was talking about a few Parables and Passages...

1) The Parable of the Fig Tree
2) No one Knows the Day or Hour
3) The Faithful and the Evil Servant
4) The Parable of the Wise and Foolish Virgins
5) The Parable of the Talents

All these Parables were talking and teaching us to be dilligent. To continue what we set out to do. Be Faithful until the Second Coming.

By the Time i finish posting this particular article. It would already be 9th of Feb 2010. (Didnt we just count down 2010? Had the month of January passed? Had i gotten used to writing 2010 at the date of any forms that i had written?.

4days time we would be celebrating CNY! Guess what?! After the third day of CNY when people goes back to work, it would already be the 17th of Feb 2010.

Feb 2010 is a month of little hard work. Mood of Celebration, Mood of Festive Season. Singaporean works 17 days to get the same amount of Salary which they worked 22days for (for month with 31 days). I cannot help to relate that to another parable about the workers in the last hour. Where workers who worked lesser hours are paid equally to those who labour from the start of the day. Increment in Per hour rate!

Feb 2010 is God's way of reminding Zhipeng. That Zhipeng!you must continue to be dilligent. Even if the month of Feb 2010 seems insignificant and Procastination follows in Feb 2010.

BE DILLIGENT, BE LIKE THE WISE VIRGIN. THIS MONTH IS THE MONTH OF EFFICIENCY. WHERE YOUR 'PRE HOUR RATE' IS GOING TO INCREASE!

What does FEB 2010 meant to you? To me is a Warning against Complacency, and an encouragement to keep on keeping on. And of course The Month of Feb, a month of Purification.

3 Kind of Faith. Week 1 - Persistent Faith

We shall look at Mary as an example.

John 2: 1-11

1 On the third day a wedding took place at Cana in Galilee. Jesus' mother was there, 2 and Jesus and his disciples had also been invited to the wedding.
3 When the wine was gone, Jesus' mother said to him, "They have no more wine."
4 "Dear woman, why do you involve me?" Jesus replied, "My time has not yet come."
5 His mother said to the servants, "Do whatever he tells you."
6 Nearby stood six stone water jars, the kind used by the Jews for ceremonial washing, each holding from twenty to thirty gallons.[a]
7 Jesus said to the servants, "Fill the jars with water"; so they filled them to the brim.
8 Then he told them, "Now draw some out and take it to the master of the banquet."
They did so,
9 and the master of the banquet tasted the water that had been turned into wine. He did not realize where it had come from, though the servants who had drawn the water knew. Then he called the bridegroom aside
10 and said, "Everyone brings out the choice wine first and then the cheaper wine after the guests have had too much to drink; but you have saved the best till now."
11 This, the first of his miraculous signs, Jesus performed in Cana of Galilee. He thus revealed his glory, and his disciples put their faith in him.

This was the first miracle of Jesus…Turing Water into Wine.

You see because of the persistence of Mary. Turning water into wine is the first Miracle Recorded!

Why do I say that Mary’s faith is one of persistence?
I did some research in the internet. When Jesus did this first miracle, many scholars believe that He is already above 30 years old. Because the Disciples were also invited.. and Jesus only Started his ministry at age of 30.

For over 30 years living with Jesus, Mary had not seen a single miracle. There was no track record whatsoever! Why would Mary be so sure that Jesus could turn the situation around and perform a miracle?! Would it be crazy to ask Zhipeng to Slam Dunk... after knowing that i have not even jump and touch the Ring for the past 27yrs?!

Friends, Mary’s faith in Jesus stretched all the way back to 30 years ago. 30 years ago, God spoke to Mary through angel Gabriel that the son she bore, Jesus, was the Son of God. Now, 30 years later, Mary is still persistently believing in this Word about Jesus Christ! Despite Jesus not performing any miracles or anything spectacular that proves He is indeed the Son of God.

For 30 years, from the birth of Christ till this day, before Jesus did His first miracle, not once did Mary waver in her faith. This is persistence!

God is not slack in His promises, don’t give up. Continue to persist, fight the good fight of faith, run the race, believe in the Word of God. Don’t lose the momentum in doing good, do not be weary in serving Him, for in due season, you shall surely reap. Your miracle will surely come to pass!

Don’t give up! Choose to invest in the virtue of persistence today! Because it requires persistent faith to unlock God’s miracle in your Life!

And Moses stretched out his hand over the sea; and the LORD caused the sea to go back by a strong east wind all that night, and made the sea dry land, and the waters were divided." (Exodus 14:21)

One of the most famous stories of the Bible is God's parting of the Red Sea to save the Israelites from the Egyptian army and the subsequent drowning of soldiers and horses in hot pursuit.

But is there evidence that such an event did in fact happen – and if so, precisely where did it take place?

The issue is surfacing some 3,500 years after the event is said to have taken place with reports of Egyptian chariot wheels found in the Red Sea, photographs to document it and new books by scientists that could lead to a whole remapping of the Exodus route and a fresh look at ancient biblical accounts.

Wheel of fortune

"I am 99.9 percent sure I picked up a chariot wheel," Peter Elmer tells WorldNetDaily after two diving trips to the Gulf of Aqaba branch of the sea. "It was covered in coral."

The 38-year-old forklift mechanic from Keynsham, England, traveled to the region with his brother, Mark, after being inspired by videos of explorers Ron Wyatt and Jonathan Gray, who have documented artifacts that in at least one case authorities have confirmed to be a chariot wheel dating to the time of the Exodus.
"I believe I actually sat in an ancient chariot cab," Elmer said, referring to his time exploring a submerged item in what he describes as an underwater scrapyard. "Without question, it is most definitely the remains of the Egyptian army."

But despite all of Elmer's excitement, others who have been to the same location are not so sure what is being viewed underwater are the remnants of the great chase and urge extreme caution regarding the unsubstantiated claims.

"All kinds of people are finding coral and calling it chariot parts," says Richard Rives, president of Wyatt Archaeological Research in Tennessee. "It's most likely coral covered with coral. ... Opportunists are combining false things with the true things that are found. These people are making it up as they go to be TV stars."
Rives was a longtime partner of Ron Wyatt, an anesthetist and amateur archaeologist who died of cancer in 1999. Before passing away, Wyatt devoted years searching for and documenting physical evidence for events mentioned in the Bible. In addition to chariot wheels, Wyatt claimed to have found Noah's Ark on the mountain next to Ararat in Turkey, the "true" Mount Sinai in Saudi Arabia and the Ark of the Covenant with the Ten Commandments near the site of Jesus Christ's crucifixion.

Among those who accompanied Wyatt on many of his excursions is his wife, Mary Nell. She's concerned about over-exuberance regarding new claims, but the Spring Hill, Tenn., woman tells WorldNetDaily she's "convinced" there are chariot parts located on a subsurface "land bridge" connecting Egypt to Saudi Arabia through the Gulf of Aqaba.
She cites Ron's discovery of a wheel hub that he brought to the surface in the late 1970s as proof.

The hub had the remains of eight spokes radiating outward and was examined by Nassif Mohammed Hassan, director of Antiquities in Cairo. Hassan declared it to be from the 18th Dynasty of ancient Egypt, explaining the eight-spoked wheel was used only during that dynasty around 1400 B.C.

Curiously, no one can account for the precise whereabouts of that eight-spoked wheel today, though Hassan is on videotape stating his conclusion regarding authenticity.
When Mary Nell went diving with Ron, she says it was very easy to assume (wrongly) that every item on the flat bottom had historical significance.

"[At first] I thought everything was a chariot wheel!" Mrs. Wyatt exclaimed, noting how difficult it is for the untrained eye to distinguish an artifact from a piece of coral. "I'm just trying to be cautious about over-identifying too much. ... It is God's truth, and we can't hype it up. We can't add to it."

However, she notes a big problem for explorers and scientists is that the Egyptian government no longer allows items to be removed from the protected region. Thus, someone claiming to find an artifact will have a hard – if not impossible – time verifying its authenticity, a classic catch-22.
The watery grave

"And the waters returned, and covered the chariots, and the horsemen, and all the host of Pharaoh that came into the sea after them; there remained not so much as one of them." (Exodus 14:28)

The Bible account makes it clear that once the Israelites had marched through the parted sea on dry ground, that the waters rushed back to completely engulf the doomed army of ancient Egypt.

With that in mind, many of the items being seen in the Gulf of Aqaba have been photographed by divers for comparison to the Exodus story.
Many other photographs show formations in a circular pattern with projections that could be spokes, but those items remain at the bottom and have not been authenticated.

Another issue is the route of the Exodus, and which body of water the Israelites crossed. Many travel maps and Bibles indicate a crossing point in the Gulf of Suez, the western branch of the Red Sea. But those may have to be updated if the Aqaba location is confirmed as the true location for the miraculous event.
"The truth is, no one really knows where the crossing of the Red Sea took place," says Carl Rasmussen, a biblical geographer and professor of Old Testament at Bethel College in St. Paul, Minn.
Rasmussen compiled the "Zondervan NIV Atlas of the Bible" and personally thinks the crossing took place somewhere along what is now the Suez Canal.

Some scientists from Europe say the current maps are wrong, and the Wyatts are right – that the crossing began at the Nuweiba beachhead, went through the Gulf of Aqaba, and then into what is now Saudi Arabia where they claim the "true" Mount Sinai is located.

For years, scholars have speculated as to the location of the actual Mount Sinai where Moses received the Ten Commandments from God. At least 13 sites have actually been claimed on the Sinai peninsula as being the correct spot.
But Ron Wyatt believed it was in Arabia, even referenced as "mount Sinai in Arabia" by the Apostle Paul in Galatians 4:25.

So he and his sons made their way to "Jebel a Lawz," the mountain of the Law, which is known by the locals as "Jebel Musa" – Moses' mountain.

Unfortunately for the Wyatts, they were arrested and held in prison. His wife says someone had phoned embassy authorities for the Muslim country, claiming that Ron was spying for Israel. They were released after spending 78 days behind bars.
Rasmussen doesn't agree with the Arabian Mount Sinai theory.
"I believe the strongest candidate is Jebel Sin Bisher," he told WorldNetDaily. "The sites in Saudi Arabia have very, very weak scriptural backing, in spite of the hype."

Now, a new book by Cambridge University physicist Colin Humphreys titled "The Miracles of Exodus" supports not only the claim for an Aqaba crossing, but also the location of Mount Sinai in Arabia.

"If my book is correct, and I believe the evidence is very strong," says Humphreys, "then world maps will need to be redrawn to relocate Mount Sinai. History books, travel guides and biblical commentaries will need to be rewritten."
Throughout his work, Humphreys provides scientific explanations to corroborate the accounts of the Old Testament.

"'The waters piled up, the surging waters stood firm like a wall,' is a remarkable description of what the mathematics reveals to be the case for water pushed back by a very strong wind," he writes.

"What I have found is that the events of the Exodus are even more dramatic than is generally believed," Humphreys said. "The Exodus of the ancient Israelites from Egypt really is one of the greatest true stories ever told."
A Swedish scientist who believes the Red Sea was split says while Humphreys is correct about the Aqaba crossing, there are no natural, scientific explanations for the parting miracle described in Scripture.

"The wind did not separate the water," says Lennart Moller of the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm. "No person could be in that wind and survive. ... If God has created all the Earth, it's no problem for Him to separate the water for a while."
Speaking to WorldNetDaily from the isle of Gotland in the Baltic Sea, Moller, the author of "The Exodus Case," says the key in finding the correct route of the Israelites is to understand that the Hebrew reference to "yum suph" does not mean "sea of reeds" as many scholars have claimed.

Moller says it refers specifically to the Gulf of Aqaba, and while he's not formally affiliated with the Wyatts, he agrees with them that a host of other evidence can be found on the Arabian side of the water, including remains of the golden calf, pillars, altars and the even the rock the Bible says Moses split to bring forth water for the Israelites.

Regarding the items found beneath the waters, Moller believes there are remnants not only of chariots and wheels, but also human and animal skeletons.
"There was a disaster [there] a long time ago," he said. "Whatever that is, it's open to interpretation."

He also notes that the downward and upward slope of the Aqaba crossing path actually falls within current U.S. standards for handicapped ramps.
And while Mary Nell Wyatt warns overstating the claims by divers and authors could do more harm than good, she does believe there's a reason why her husband was led to discover what Ron called "God's attention-getters."

"God preserved all these evidences," she said, "[otherwise] there would have been nothing left. ... God has been lost today. Even Christians still can't believe this all happened. ... We need to pray for the Lord to help us get people to see it."
Back in England, Peter Elmer says people have mockingly asked "Why should a forklift mechanic from Keynsham be able to go to the same place Moses was?"
He takes the criticism in stride, pointing out "Jesus used fishermen, tax collectors and publicans. Why not a forklift mechanic?"
