Dressing Up Denim

Chambray Shirts have been in for quite a bit of time now. This season, you can pair your Chambray Shirt with a floral skirt or bottom with some type of pattern. Bright colors are going to be hot this summer – they are a great way to spice up any outfit! Adding a cute sandals or a pump will help shape your outfit!

Neutrals

Summer is the best time to bring out your crisp whites! It’s always a great idea to bring out your white pants, but sometimes you need to beat that summer heat and bring out your shorts!! I love whites in the summer because the color enhances your tan. Pairing white shorts with any airy shirt will definitely be a go-to look for the summer! This is definitely a daytime look and perfect for a casual daytime gathering!

Beach Bombshell

Ripped shorts are so wearable! For daytime, I love taking a shirt with a cute print on it and pairing it with basic jean shorts. I don’t know why, but in the summertime I always look for tops with anchors. I guess it reminds me of the ocean! Wearing a shirt with a print a cute and easy outfit that anyone can wear. This is perfect for a stroll on the beach or a daytime beach party! I can’t forget about my metallic Sperrys… I can’t live without them!!!

Blazers With Patterns

Blazers were have been so popular this past season and they are definitely workable into your summer wardrobe. Summer is always associated with brighter colors, but if you have a blazer with darker shades, definitely incorporate this into your nighttime look! A basic tank top and ripped shorts are a great base for your look, and can help you go from day to night!

I kicked off this challenge with a bold printed dress to celebrate our beauty editor’s (Nicole) birthday.  The sun was shining, a slight breeze, and bold bright color was perfect for her special day.  I finished the look with bright accessories and a neon orange studded clutch.

For a Casual Look: Motorcycle Jackets

When you want to look casual, adding a bit of biker flair is easy. According to NYTimes.com, the biker look has become popular as a street style, and you can mix it up with scarves, skinny pants, and Converse for a trendy look. Wearing a leather jacket is great for spring, fall, and winter months, since it’s a little chilly outside, and you can pull the whole outfit together with leather boots. You have a lot of options, from boots with studs to those with stiletto heels. If you match the jacket and boots, then your outfit can be anything from lace to denim without looking mismatched.

Nothing looks better than some killer heels on a first date. Mixing up your outfit by adding leather biker boots is the perfect way to stand out from the crowd. Compared with the punchy volatile plot of its predecessor, Star Trek Into Darkness just doesn’t have the same zing. What made 2009′s Star Trek such a hit was that everything was so deliciously unexpected. There was always a last-minute plan with a tiny chance of success that, due to Kirk’s infamous gut-feel and his faith in his oddball crew, always managed to pull through in the end. They were always one step ahead; now they seem one step behind. This time around, the plot feels much more straightforward. The twists are often disappointingly easy to predict; they follow in the vein of secretive war-mongering militaries that we’ve seen countless times before in films like Avatar, and it seems to take the film’s otherwise quick-witted characters a tad too long to catch up. With the one exception of Scotty, all of characters are literally in one boat. There’s no time travel device to throw off our sensors, and the intrigue of meeting this reimagined set of classic characters has worn off. Case in point: the delight when we experience another encounter with Leonard Nimoy’s Spock Prime pales in comparison to his unexpected appearance in the first film. To be sure, Into Darkness is still a galloping thrill ride through space, complete with countless fist fights on moving platforms and, once again, hurtling through space in nothing but masked jumpsuits, but still nothing feels entirely unforeseen.

The film is at its strongest when it’s less concerned with trying to throw the audience off and more attentive to its characters, who undeniably drive this franchise. All the charm of the 2009 cast is back and has only grown as the characters become more familiar with each other and themselves. Chris Pine reprises his role as the untameable Captain Jim Kirk, and Zachary Quinto shines as the overly logical and effectively hilarious Commander Spock. Their transformation from reluctant fellow crew members to brotherly comrades is close to complete, and their relationship is a crucial pillar around which the rest of the cast pivots. Simon Pegg returns as the clever and delightful Scotty in a thankfully much larger role this time around, and Zoe Saldana continues to fight the good feminist fight as Lieutenant Uhura along with newcomer Alice Eve as the witty doe-eyed doctor, Carol. However, the most notable addition to Abrams’ cast of characters is the Sherlock star Benedict Cumberbatch as the film’s main villain, codenamed John Harrison to hide the true identity of this Star Trek classic supervillain. Cumberbatch is, predictably, a show-stealer. While the rest of the crew bumbles and flails, he remains the picture of calm — a viper waiting for the opportune moment to strike. Deep-voiced and deathly pale, Cumberbatch plays a masterful villain, one that we can at once like, understand, and fear. He is so compelling, in fact, that it’s hard to completely turn against him. A small part of us wants him to triumph. Or, since this is already an alternate Star Trek universe, perhaps see him transformed into a hero or antihero. Unlike the previous villain Nero, Cumberbatch’s character doesn’t seem past the point of no return, but perhaps Abrams feels that there are already too many heroes within his impressive cast of characters. Or maybe he’s too afraid of further upsetting diehard Star Trek fans by converting one of the canon’s most infamous villains.

As it stands, Star Trek Into Darkness is an action-packed zinger of a sequel even if it lacks some of the spellbinding magic of its predecessor. We’re never fully plunged into darkness, as the title vaguely suggests, but it being a summer blockbuster, we’ll take this lively Star Trek adventure flick just as it is.

While humorous and seemingly talked about has anyone else noticed the trouble in paradise with the “smooching” couple? Selena manages to keep her cool but it seems obvious that she went in for a kiss and was given the cheek. If you continue watching the two of them you can see that there is defiantly tension brewing and her friend continually tugs at her arm motioning to leave. (Which from a friend is never a good thing.) My question is whats the real story behind this couples obvious frustrations? Could it have been Bieber ridiculous speech after receiving an award presented by Miley Cyrus or does it have something to do with his recent drugs issues? There might just be something that hasn’t surfaced yet.
