The internet has revolutionized the world in more ways than one. Beginning as a virtual storehouse of all information, it progressed to provide other services like downloading free songs, music videos and movies.

Aside from watching movies in the theatre, you have the option of renting a video and watching it in the privacy of your home. Though movie rentals are still a popular option, the latest buzz is downloading movies from the internet.

The trend of downloading movies from the internet has become so popular that a website has claimed that at least three billion movies, video songs and clips were downloaded in just one month. The claim may or may not be an exaggeration, but it definitely points to the increasing popularity of downloading movies.

One way to download a movie is the file swapping method. This works in the same way as sharing music files. The process is, for the most part, illegal. Those involved gain access to sneak previews of the movies, copy the film and put them on websites. In fact, these movies reach people faster than they do in theaters.

Film companies stand to lose, and it is no surprise that they have tried to take legal recourse to find a solution.

In a bid to stop this menace, movie companies are trying to save the day by offering movies for free downloading. For this, customers need to pay a fee and watch the movie within twenty-four hours or the files become inaccessible.

17. The Missing Beatle?

“I think of a hero as someone who understands the degree of responsibility that comes with his freedom.” – Bob Dylan

1. Crooning Bob, Hidden Muse
Recently a Japanese writer named Junichi Saga was astonished and flattered to learn that passages from one of his books apparently found their way into a few of Bob Dylan’s lyrics.
In Bob Dylan’s 2001 song, “Floater”, he croons – “My old man, he’s like some feudal lord, got more lives than a cat.” “I’m not quite as cool or forgiving as I sound” “Sometimes somebody wants you to give something up, and tears or not, it’s too much to ask.”

On page six of Junicihi Saga’s book, “Confessions of a Yakuza”, he writes – “My old man would sit there like a feudal lord.” “I’m not as cool or forgiving as I might have sounded.” Then on page 182, writes – “Tears or not, though, that was too much to ask.”

The practitioner of Chinese medicine resounded that the revelation of Dylan calling upon his own work was surprising. This could be counted as a literary theft of sorts, but the author has stated he has no plans to sue. “Why would I sue? To take something that made people around the world happy and try to exploit it for money – that’s poverty.”, stated Saga.
“This shows that people in other countries can relate to the harsh realities of prewar Japan, which was a poor, struggling nation. I’m just happy somebody read my book and liked it.”, said Saga. “My book hasn’t even sold that well, and it’s out of print in Japan.” He further added he has estimated to have only made about $8,475 from the publication.

A few weeks ago, Saga bought his first Bob Dylan CD, “The Best of Bob Dylan”.

2. Masked & Anonymous
Would you reach out a hand to save a drowning man if you thought he might pull you in?

This is the tagline for Bob’s latest film called, “Masked & Anonymous”. In it, Bob plays, Jack Fate, a singer whose career has gone on a downward spiral and is forced to make a comeback to the performance stage for a benefit concert. For this film he was joined by some of Hollywood’s hottest and brightest, all of which reportedly signed onto the film at scale rates. The cast includes: John Goodman, Jessica Lange, Luke Wilson, Jeff Bridges, Penelope Cruz, Reggie Lee, Angela Bassett, Steven Bauer, Larry Campbell, Bruce Dern, Alex Desert, Treva Etienne, Dan Frischman, Tony Garnier, Laura Elena Harring, Ed Harris, Shawn Michael Howard, Val Kilmer, Bruce Kirschbaum, Antonio David Lyons, Cheech Marin, Chris Penn, George Receli, Giovanni Ribisi, Mickey Rourke, Sam Sarpong, Charlie Sexton, Jon Sklaroff, Christian Slater and Fred Ward. On top of all of that, T-Shirt King friend, Keri Bruno, pulls 2nd Unit Directing duties on the talent heavy film.

The film hits theatres in a limited US release on July 25th.

3. Robert Allen Zimmerman
At 5 foot six inches, Robert Allen Zimmerman might be a slight man, but under the name Bob Dylan, he is a legendary giant of a musician.

4. Elston Gunn
Robert Allen Zimmerman was born May 24th 1941 in Duluth, Minnesota. His father, Abe, was employed by the Standard Oil Company there, but when Robert was six the family moved to Hibbing, Minnesota. The one riddling note about Hibbing is that is very often the coldest place in the United States. Yikes. Growing up there he taught himself piano and guitar and formed several high school rock bands. Around this time he toyed with the stage name, “Elston Gunn”.

5. A Star Is Born
By 1959, Robert entered the University of Minnesota and began performing under the name Bob Dylan at clubs in Minnesota and St. Paul.

6. A Legend Mends A Legend
In 1960 he traveled to New York to perform in various folk clubs throughout Greenwich Village. While in New York he spent time with his idol, Woody Guthrie at his hospital room.

7. Emergence
Late in 1961 he landed a contract with Columbia Records and the following year his debut album was released with two original songs. A year after that, “The Freewheelin’ Bob Dylan” emerged with an all original album, including a song that became an anthem of the ’60′s – “Blowin’ in the Wind”.

8. Bringing It All Back Home
In February 1964 Dylan and a small group of friends drove south out of New York City and stopped in unannounced to see poet ‘Carl Sandburg’ in North Carolina. Disappointingly, Dylan left only 10 minutes after arriving when he realized he couldn’t get the venerable man of letters to take him seriously as a fellow poet.

He popped folk-rock into the mainstream after touring with Joan Baez with his own flavor of electric/acoustic swagger, culminating with his hit song, “Bringing it all Back Home”. Soon after the Byrd’s turned his song “Mr. Tambourine Man” into another hit with their cover version of the famous tune.

9. Pat Garrett And Billy The Kid
Following a motorcycle accident in 1966 which took him out of the limelight until 1969. Around that time, Sam Peckinpah asked him to compose the score and appear in his film, “Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid”. This would be the only the beginning of a long and continuing relationship with Hollywood and filmmaking.

10. Grammy Time
In 1974, Bob Dylan and The Band hit the road to promote their first number one album, “Planet Waves”. The next year they had another chart-topper with the release of, “Blood on the Tracks”. He followed that with several Rolling Thunder tours, a film called, “Renaldo and Clara” and then stunned the music world with the release of his fundamentalist Christian album, “Slow Train Coming”. A song from this album garnered him his first Grammy.

11. Pope On The Red Line
In May 1997, he was stricken with histaplasmosis, a possibly fatal infection of the heart sac, but recovered to take on a tour of Europe. He kicked off the trip by September, starting off in Rome by special request of the Pope.

12. In Their Father’s Footsteps?
His son Jakob Dylan has made a good time semi-emulating his infamous father with his own band, The Wallflowers. However, his Jesse Dylan has taken a slightly altered route to stardom, opting for the glamour of Tinsletown. His first major directing gig is about to be released, “American Pie 3″. Jesse also directed a film called, “How High” and appears with a special thanks credit on “The Matrix Revisited”.

13. Albums Of The Year
He is truly legendary, his 1997 album, “Time Out of Mind” and his 2001 album “Love and Theft” were both voted Album of the Year by the Village Voice’s annual critics’ poll. Seems like a no-brainer to us.

14. Hollywood Hit List
He has composed and recorded songs or had his recorded songs used in the following films:

Gods & Generals
Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood
Vanilla Sky
Bandits
Blow
Remember the Titans
High Fidelity
Wonder Boys
The Hurricane
American Beauty
Hope Floats
Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas
The Big Lebowski
Jerry Maguire
Breaking the Waves
With Honors
Dogfight
Band of the Hand
American Pop
Renaldo and Clara
Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid

15. Jack Fate
The small $10 million dollar film, “Masked & Anonymous” was directed by veteran TV comedy director, Larry Charles, who has also helmed shows for, “Mad About You”, “Seinfeld” and “Curb Your Enthusiasm”.

He appeared on the TV show, “Dharma & Greg” playing himself. When he met Conan O’Brien at a recent concert, Bob was quoted as saying, “I know you from the TeeVee.”

16. Award Monger
He has received numerous awards of note, including: The Polar Music Prize from the Royal Swedish Academy of Music in 2000, The Commandeur dans l’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres from France in 1990, an honorary doctorate from Princeton University in 1970 and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame by Bruce Springteen at New York’s Waldorf Astoria Hotel in 1988.

17. The Missing Beatle?
He appears on the sleeve of the Beatles’ “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club”.

At the famous “Johnny Cash at San Quentin” concert, Johnny Cash introduced a song he co-wrote with Dylan by describing his as “the greatest writer of our times.”

President Bush made a secret trip to Iraq to meet with Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki to assure him that the U. S. will continue to support efforts to stabilize and rebuild Iraq. Mr. Maliki thanked him and assured him that he would do everything to increase President Bushs approval ratings. After further discussions, the two leaders agreed that the best way to accomplish both goals may be to exchange jobs.

President Bush stated, Im very involved in the U. S. involvement in Iraq, but I understand not all Americans believe we can win here. Since I know we can win, I may decide that the best way to achieve the goal is to take Prime Minister al-Malikis job. If I go ahead with the switch, I expect to be addressed as Iraqi Prime Minster George Bush.

The Iraqi Prime Minister added, And then you can address me as American President Nouri al-Maliki. I know this proposed job exchange will come as a big surprise to many Americans, but President Bush and I have discussed how this might be a way to give America a President with higher approval ratings. I know the language will be a bit of a handicap for both of us, but Ive been listening to Mr. Bush, and I think my mistakes in English are not that much more bad than the ones he makes.

They went on to chide each other, with Mr. Bush saying, If we do make the switch, I guess Ill be addressing the Iraqi Parliament, and I suspect theyll be a lot friendlier than Democrats.

Mr. Maliki responded, Then I would board your helicopter to take me Baghdad International Airport, so I can fly to Washington and get started in my new job as President of the United States.

Do I have to become a Muslim? Bush asked Miliki. Im not sure my constituency back in the US would approve.

Maybe it will go better for me as the President if I become a Protestant, Maliki replied. But Im not sure how that would go over with my constituency, either.

While many Americans were uncertain about the proposed switch, they were willing to adopt a wait and see attitude.

As one American commented, Look, if the former Iraqi Prime Minister does a good job as the President of the United States, Im OK with that. In fact, Ill vote to reelect him in 2008. I just need certain assurances, like seeing him say The Pledge of Allegiance.

Ive kept the same cell phone number for the past 7-8 years. Ive lived in NYC, NC and now Florida and in all that time, Ive never changed phone numbers. Nor will I. Sure, its inconvenient for my mom who lives across town to have to dial a NYC phone to get me and Im only a few miles away, but for me its worth it.

I have clients that still call me periodically for coaching that used this cell phone years ago. They like knowing that Im just a call away if they need me. Several of these clients would probably have names that you might recognize, and dont use a coach on a regular basis, but if the need arises, they know Im there.

Ive spent a large part of my career working with and for celebrities. Whether I marketing for them, do PR for them or consult and coaching with the them, Ive made a part of my career working in that market. As a result, Ive gotten to know many agents, publicists and Event Planners.

I also coach individuals in business. Right now, it seems that a large bulk of my clients are in new jobs, businesses or about to make a transition. I dont work by contract, only on an as needed basis. Some of my clients show up every week. Others are clients that are only once a month. Im flexible because my clients are busy. So am I, and Im fine with them rescheduling with me a day in advance.

I started coaching this way because the high profile clients that I served couldnt meet on a regular basis. They were traveling or unavailable at normal business times so I made allowances for them. As my business and experience grew, I found that working with high profile types was going to be different than a traditional client that may be.

I work on a project basis with many of these high profile types. Some of them are high level executives, besides celebrities and Im there as a personal consultant that they call upon for many different issues. Most of them found me through the communication coaching that I provide and weve kept the relationship going through the years. Whenever they call I merely write it down and keep a log. I usually bill once a month. On projects, Ill estimate a cost for the project and always try to come in under the estimate.

I have clients that will fly in for the day and for that, my fees are a bit higher than on the phone. Its a concentrated coaching session that can deal with family issues to creating a work out schedule or recreating a brand or speech. Weve discovered projects to create that they can market and weve written the outline of books.

I noticed right up front that celebrities are keenly aware that people try to make a buck off of them so I actually charge them less in some cases. Regardless, overestimating the bill is the way to go, and they always appreciate the financial break. I learned this early on when I had a repeat customer and I sent a bill that she questioned. She didnt feel that I had put in that much time with her so I told her that I had struggled with the bill myself because the project was so off and on. So, I told her to rip up my invoice and to pay me what she thought she should. I got a nice check in the mail that was just a little bit less than I had originally charged and it had a nice note attached. It was definitely the right decision because Ive continued to coach this person here and there over the last many years.

Coaching high profile types are a great gig if you can get it. But dont make the mistake of holding to your exact requirements or you might lose a client in the process. The ones that I know appreciate my willingness to be flexible with my schedule and to reschedule if something else comes up. Im fair with the money and I always try to deliver more than promised.

I love the coaching people who are successful, energetic and ambitious. They never refuse a challenge and theyre always up for new ideas. They appreciate others who are hard working like them.

That is why I keep my cell phone number the same. Being available to these people is the name of the game.

The reasons for collecting antiques can be as varied as the people who collect them. Some people first become interested in collecting as children, collecting anything from baseball cards to dolls, coins, stamps or even insects. Others dont begin collecting until their adult years. That interest may be prompted by some significant event, being given a family heirloom or from a desire to preserve elements of our past.

But the one thing all these people have in common is that no matter what they have chosen to collect, its fun! Enjoying the pieces one has collected can be very satisfying, but it cant compare to the thrill of the hunt and the fun of finding a treasure.

Collecting can be a great hobby, but there is an advantage to collecting antiques over something like matchbooks or souvenirs. Antiques appreciate in value. By learning to buy, sell and even trade wisely some people have been able to turn a hobby into a successful business. But how can someone move beyond collecting for fun and begin to build a collection that has value? The key to building a collection that has value, especially antiques, is knowledge. Learn everything you can about the antiques you are collecting. Not only will it add to your enjoyment, but when you learn to buy, sell and trade from a position of knowledge you will be able to build a modest collection into one of real value.

When starting a collection, its important to do your homework. When you begin shopping for antiques armed with knowledge, you are in a better position to spot a bargain or avoid making a purchase you may regret. Because the world of antiques is so broad, it is advisable to limit your collection to a specific area. No one can be an expert about every type of antique. That will allow you to learn about important manufacturers, recognize rare specimens, and most important for beginners, know how to spot reproductions.

Beginning to learn about antiques can be as simple as making a visit to your local library. There are a multitude of excellent books available about every conceivable category of antiques. However, two sources of information novice collectors may overlook are antique dealers and collectors. People who deal in antiques for profit or for pleasure enjoy talking about them. Antiques are one of their passions. Visiting antique shops and antique shows will not only allow you ask questions and learn from experts but it can be a fun way to spend a day or a weekend.

Once the collecting bug has bitten you, how do you decide what to collect? Simply collect something you love something you are interested in. That makes learning about the items you collect all the more enjoyable. As you learn more about these antiques and their value, you will begin to learn how and where to shop for bargains. Being able to buy and sell to make a profit may not be your primary goal for collecting, but it may help you finance your hobby and enable you to increase the value of your collection.

In your hunt for antiques it is also important to buy quality, not quantity. Owning a few truly fine pieces is always preferable to owning many mediocre pieces. That may mean you may have to start small and gradually build your collection, but quality pieces appreciate faster and will build the value of your collection more quickly. When buying antiques you should avoid pieces that are damaged or repaired. They may be cheaper but they wont appreciate as much or add value to your collection.

When you search for the unique rather than the common, you will find that the more rare the antique the more it appreciates. This is another reason knowledge is so important. With enough skill, you may be able to recognize rare or valuable pieces less knowledgeable collectors might overlook.

Although they can be excellent sources, antique shops and antique shows arent the only places where you can find valuable high quality antiques. People have made some great finds at flea markets and yard sales.

You may also find a wide range of antiques at auctions. But remember, if you go to an auction its doubly important to know the value of the pieces youre bidding on. Its easy to get caught up in the excitement of the auction and end up spending way too much.

Finally, in your search for that special piece you have been searching for dont forget about internet auction sites like Ebay. Thanks to the internet its possible to find just about anything.

Whatever you decide to collect for whatever the reason, enjoy the hunt. Bargains and interesting pieces can be found everywhere.

As a photographer, you are up against stiff competition when it comes to getting gigs or jobs. Newspapers, magazines, weddings, family and student photos how do you reach the multitude of people who may be interested in hiring you? Portfolios are expensive and targeting the many different segments of the population who would benefit from your services is no simple marketing feat.

By building your own photography website to showcase your work and your services, you handle all these problems in one fell swoop.

Digital photography offers you the ability to share your work with the world. Many magazines and newspapers will only take submissions in .jpeg or .gif formats. The days of negatives, proof sheets, and slides are over. Though you may still choose to offer 35 millimeter prints or other specialty photo services, digital photography is where the money is in the industry.

Lucky for you! Digital photographs take less than a minute to upload to your web host. At variable qualities, you can showcase the different styles of photography at which you are proficient. Other things you can do with your photography site include:

- List hours and services and prices. If you are only available to work at night and on weekends, list this on your site. Also, list different services that you provide including wedding photography, baby and pregnancy pictures, family portraits, student photos, pet photography, and more. Listing prices is not a requirement, but something that is highly recommended. Offering a variety of packages with the option to customize will help potential customers know right away whether or not they can afford your services.

- Special deals or discounts. Monthly discounts or special deals for first time customers, discounts for repeat customers or multiple packages can also be displayed on your photography website. They may also be a good ‘time clock’ incentive if they are updated frequently and set to change within a week or less.

- Offer a subscription service. Another option you may consider is offering a subscription service for your photography through your site. Many need stock photography for their websites, brochures, flyers, et cetera. Some may even need these on a regular basis. Offering one time downloads and a subscription service with a wide net of types of photography may be one way to increase your sales revenue while shooting whatever you like and increasing your portfolio.

- Order prints. Opt for a shopping cart on your site and allow those who may have just stopped by to check you out to purchase a print for download instantly.

- Commission order forms. For customized orders or packages or to set up special shoots, you can design an order form for your photography website that will allow them to be as specific as they like about what exactly it is that they’re looking for.

- Offer photographic services. List and define your services in detail. Some may not even realize that they are looking for the exact photographic service that only you can provide.

- Contact info. Include everything that a potential customer may need: email address, land line, cell phone, studio address.

- Part of the community. Connect to the rest of the photography community by offering a link page: photo supply sites, framers, videographers, et cetera.

- Be creative. Show your diversity, talent, and imagination. Inspire your clients to inspire you.
