How much beer is too much

noreply@blogger.com (BoredParroT) — Wed, 3 Jan 2018 22:55:00 -0800

A glass of beer on any occasion will not harm your health, but excessive drinking can cause temporary and long-term effects on our body.

Beer is LIKELY SAFE for most people when used in moderation. Howerever Drinking too much is UNSAFE and can cause a lot of side effects, including: flushing, confusion, trouble controlling emotions, blackouts, loss of coordination, seizures, drowsiness, trouble breathing, hypothermia, low blood sugar, vomiting, diarrhea, bleeding, irregular heartbeat, and others.

Long-term use can lead to alcohol dependence and can cause many serious side effects, including: malnutrition, memory loss, mental problems, heart problems, liver failure, swelling (inflammation) of the pancreas, cancers of the digestive track, and others.

Some of the negative effects of alcohol on our body:

Gout: Using alcohol can make gout worse.

Liver Problems: The liver eliminates toxins, including alcohol, from your system. Drinking large amounts of beer over the course of several months or years can damage your liver, making it harder for it to do its job. Once your liver cells are damaged, no matter the cause, your liver regenerates in an abnormal pattern and can eventually stop working.

Heart conditions: While there is some evidence that drinking beer in moderation might help to prevent congestive heart failure, beer is harmful when used by someone who already has this condition. Using alcohol can make chest pain and congestive heart failure worse.

High blood pressure: Drinking three or more alcoholic drinks per day can increase blood pressure and make high blood pressure worse.

Stomach ulcers or a type of heartburn called gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD): Drinking alcohol can make these conditions worse.

Trouble sleeping (insomnia): Drinking alcohol can make insomnia worse.

Senator Antonio Trillanes asks prosecutor for more time to answer inciting to sedition, coup, graft raps

noreply@blogger.com (BoredParroT) — Tue, 12 Dec 2017 00:28:00 -0800

Senator Antonio Trillanes IV, through his lawyers, has asked the Pasay City prosecutor's office to give him more time, at least 15 more days within which to allow his camp to prepare or file the required counter-affidavit, moving the deadline from Monday, December 11, to December 26. to answer the criminal complaints filed against him by certain lawyers over remarks he made against President Rodrigo Duterte.

Named complainants were lawyers Eligio Mallari, Glenn Chong, Nestor Ifurung, Jacinto Paras, Eduardo Bringas, Nasser Marohomsalic and businessman Louis Biraogo.

The motion was filed prior to the continuation of the preliminary investigation against Trillanes after a group of lawyers filed complaints for inciting to sedition, proposal to commit coup d'etat and graft against the senator on November 16.

The complaint stemmed from Trillanes' October 3 privilege speech in which he accused Duterte of having bank transactions of more than P2 billion from 2006 to 2015.

Trillanes made no direct appeal for soldiers to kill Duterte, but merely said troops would probably have to use their M-60 machine guns against the president because of the volume of evidence proving the latter's ill-gotten wealth.

"Kung makikita ito ng mga sundalo, M-60 ang gagamitin sa'yo kasi marami-rami ito. Mauubos yung magasin, kung P40 million yung hinahanap mo," Trillanes had said.

Trillanes was reacting to a speech made by Duterte where he said anybody can shoot him if it could be proven that his lifetime savings exceeded P40 million.

"Trillanes not only repeatedly uttered seditious words or speeches (Article 142 of the Revised Penal Code) and unabatedly circulated scurrilous libels against the President (Article 142, RPC), which tend to disturb the public peace, but also repeatedly incited others to inflict any hate or revenge upon his person (Article 142, in relation to Article 139 (3), RPC; first mode of commission)," the complaint stated.

Luna told GMA News Online, which is the source of this new, that they understood the need for such an extension.

They will however, on order of the prosecutor, return to the prosecutor's office on January 8 to resume the preliminary investigation.

"Siguro by that time, na-submit na ni Senator Trillanes yung kanyang counter-affidavit," Luna said. "Meron rin po kaming mag-file ng reply or rejoinder sa kanyang counter-affidavit upon receipt."

Paras, who threatened to sue Trillanes over his remarks, said they were confident that they had sufficient evidence for their complaints to push through.

"Malaki po ang tiwala namin. We have lots of confidence na well-prepared yung aming ebidensya at tsaka yung supporting jurisprudence tungkol dito sa kasong ito," Paras said.

Trillanes dismissed the raps as a move by Duterte's "minions" to distract him from Duterte's alleged murders, corruption, and Davao City Vice Mayor Paolo “Pulong” Duterte's involvement in the smuggling of the shabu shipment past the Bureau of Customs last May.

Senator Gordon to file ethics complaint vs Trillanes

noreply@blogger.com (BoredParroT) — Thu, 31 Aug 2017 04:39:00 -0700

MANILA Philippines, August 31 - (UPDATED) Senator Gordon on Thursday moved to cite Senator Antonio Trillanes in contempt and threatened him with an ethics complaint after they traded barbs during a hearing. After questioning private broker Mark Taguba regarding the supposed "Davao Group," which was allegedly linked to presidential son, Davao City Vice Mayor Paolo Duterte, Trillanes asked that the younger Duterte and his brother-in-law, Manases Carpio, be invited to the next hearing on the P6.4-billion drug shipment from China. The motion was approved by Gordon.

"Itong ibang resource persons dito, they were invited quietly at wala namang nangyari. Bakit suddenly masyadong jittery or bina-badger yung nagsasabi?," Trillanes told Gordon's committee.
Gordon asked him to clarify if he and Majority Leader Senator Vicente Sotto are being referred to, and Trillanes said: "If you feel alluded to, then that’s your problem."

"You’re so fond of making names here, making general statements. If you want to make general statements, you better prove it. This is the Senate of the Philippines; this is not a cockpit of chismis. We are here investigating real things. Wag nang magdadaldal dito ng hindi mo nalalalaman," Gordon replied.

The Blue Ribbon Committee chair then ruled Trillanes "out of order" and suspended their hearing.
Despite the suspension, Trillanes spoke on his microphone and said: "Nagiging komite de abswelto ang Blue Ribbon Committee."

This statement irked Gordon, who moved that Trillanes be cited in contempt, but the former soldier objected.

"I made an objection, your honor. You are not a one-man committee here," said Trillanes.
This further angered Gordon, who then said he will file an ethics complaint.

"Yes please do so. I welcome that," answered Trillanes.
"The gentleman has been accusing everybody in the Senate of everything. In the past, you got away. Senator Zubiri and you almost got into a slugfest," said Gordon.

"I am asking the Majority Floor Leader to convoke the Ethics Committee and I will file personally an ethics committee case against the gentleman from Bicol," he said.

Upon resumption of the hearing, Gordon told Trillanes to "behave himself, otherwise I will put the sergeant-at-arms before him."

But Trillanes objected anew what he said was Gordon's "irrational ruling and behavior as chairman of this Blue Ribbon Committee."

Gordon took exception to Trillanes' words, insisting that he has "always acted rationally."
"You have been doing a one-man show, a monologue for these several hours. I believe that is not normal," said Trillanes, but he was dismissed by Gordon.

"I will not dignify your 'one-man' statements or observations that are completely out of order. The trouble with this gentleman is whenever he doesn't like it, he will conduct a coup, and then he will be forgiven and then he will go to the cell and then he will conduct another coup, and then he will be forgiven again," Gordon told the ex-mutineer.

Trillanes fired back: "Eh ikaw, nag-barricade ka sa Subic just to hold on to your position. That's pathetic, Mr. Chairman."

The fiery statements from the two legislators prompted Sotto, chair of the Ethics and Privileges Committee, to stand between them and say: "Napaka-unparliamentary ng nangyayari dito."
The parts of their exchange was not audible without the microphones, but Sotto later moved for the suspension of the hearing, which Gordon granted.

The three men huddled until Gordon and Trillanes moved to separate directions.
Trillanes left the hall and spoke with some reporters until Gordon called for the resumption of the hearing.
