Sapphire, a popular manufacture of AMD graphic cards is looking to make their way into the CPU cooling market with the Vapor-X. Sapphires new CPU cooler is named after their Vapor-X technology, which they claim will cool up to 200 watts. The cooler by default bundles two 120mm sleeve bearing fans with the heat sink inside a dark shroud. From a design stand point the shroud looks to prevent air leaks and force air through the fins and out the other side. Both fans are PWM and range from 495 – 2200 RPM results in very low operating noise during idle. The Sapphire is available now for $69.99. Here’s what Sapphire has to say about their new cooler with a direct link below…

“SAPPHIRE Technology is now shipping the very first CPU cooler. Designed for the enthusiast and based on the company’s award winning Vapor-X technology, the extremely efficient low-noise cooler features dual fans, a rating of 200 watts and a universal mounting for AMD or Intel CPU types.

In a similar configuration to its graphics cards, the vapour chamber is in direct contact with the CPU surface to accelerate the flow of heat away. The heat is then carried away by a multi-heatpipe array and cooling fins.
Final heat dispersion is achieved by two fans, each with aerofoil section blades designed for efficient airflow with low noise, similar to those used on the highly acclaimed SAPPHIRE Dual-X series of graphics cards. The Vapor-X solution results in a high cooling efficiency designed to cater for 200Watts, more than enough even for enthusiasts overclocking the latest CPU types. When operating with lower power requirements, fan speeds can be very low, keeping noise levels to a minimum.”

Anyone who’s browsed the enclosure market surely has come across one of numerous Cooler Master HAF offerings. Cooler Master has just added another offering to the HAF lineup, the HAF XB. The HAF XB is a mid-tower turned on it’s side, designed to function as a lan box or test bench. The HAF XB supports full size ATX motherboards, a 240mm radiator in the front, and has clearance for video cards up to 334mm wide. Here are some press shots of the HAF XB and what Cooler Master has to say about their newest case. Direct links to the Cooler Master page and retailers are below.

HAF XB takes the famous High Air Flow series to a revolutionary new form factor with extreme cooling performance. The removable horizontal mainboard tray and large mesh top and front panels with two 120mm front fans create a powerful front to back airflow. Despite its compact rugged design, there is plenty of space for even the tallest high performance tower heatsinks, thick watercooling radiators and up to 3 of the longest high end graphics cards. Within seconds the side panels with their rigid carry handles and the top mesh panel can be removed, transforming the HAF XB into a Test bench with direct access to the hardware. The front panel features two USB 3.0 SuperSpeed ports as well as 2 SSD compatible X-dock slots for lightning fast data transfers.

Thermalright is a veteran cooling manufacture mostly recognized for their CPU coolers. Today they reveal another option for enthusiast, the Archon SB-E X2. If you haven’t guess already the SB-E after Archon stands for Sandy Bridge-E (LGA2011). Thermalright says this cooler is designed specifically but not exclusively for the high TDP of SB-E systems. Included is a universal bracket system that allows for mounting onto not only Intel but AMD motherboards as well. The Archon SB-E X2 settles for a single tower design connected to with eight 6mm heat pipes. Two Thermalright TY-141 PWM fans are included for a push/pull configuration. There are no details on availability or pricing just yet, but hit up the source link below for the official Thermalright page.

Today Corsair released two Hydro series coolers, the H55, a new product and the H60, an update to the existing H60. The H55 is Corsair’s second cheapest cooler sitting on top of the H60. The H55 features a copper cold plate, low profile heatsink, and a silent fan. The cold plate uses Corsair’s latest micro-fin cold plate design and comes with pre-applied thermal paste. The update to the H60 looks to make the package perform even better with a new fan “based on the award-winning Air Series SP120″. For those unfamiliar with Corsair’s fan lineup, the SP120 is a fan designed specifically for high static pressure, ideal for moving air through thin radiator fins. Corsair is careful to say the new fan is “based on” unfortunately we have no details on what is changed between it and the retail SP120. Other changes to the H60 include a newer designed cold plate and larger diameter tubing that is intended to increase coolant flow for higher performance. Both coolers retain the same motherboard compatibility; Intel LGA115X, 1366, 2011 and AMD AM2,AM3, and FM1 sockets. Both coolers are available today and backed by a five year warranty. The H55 will cost $69.99 and the new H60 will cost $79.99. Here’s what Corsair has to say about their new coolers, direct link to their product pages are below…

“The Hydro Series H50 and H60 have a hard-won reputation for delivering effective, reliable, and quiet CPU cooling,” said Thi La, Senior VP & GM of Memory and Enthusiast Component Products at Corsair. “These new and improved versions demonstrate Corsair’s commitment to providing our customers with the latest and best integrated liquid cooling technology.”

In addition to the new cold plate and manifold design, the Hydro Series H60 also utilizes larger diameter tubing, which increases the coolant flow rate and performance. The new composite rubber tubing makes installation easier, but retains the low-evaporation rates of the older, more rigid tubing, guaranteeing a long lifetime. The Hydro Series H60 also introduces a new magnetic mounting bracket, which makes it simple to select the correct motherboard socket format.

H60 Includes Fan Based on Award Winning Air Series SP120

A high-quality fan designed specifically to move air through the fins of a liquid cooling radiator is an essential part of any liquid cooling system. The new H60 includes a 120 mm fan based on the award-winning Air Series SP120. This utilizes a motor that has been specially tuned for high torque, ensuring outstanding static pressure, and consistently high performance at low noise levels.

The Hydro Series H55 is designed to provide a simple and effective upgrade from a basic CPU air cooler. The 4th generation cold plate design, and high static-pressure, low noise 120 mm fan provides great performance, while the tool-free mounting bracket and low-permeability rubber tubing makes installation simple.

Both the Hydro Series H55 and Hydro Series H60 CPU coolers are compatible with most cases that feature a rear 120 mm fan mount. Both support motherboards based on the Intel LGA115x/1366/2011, and AMD AM2/AM3/FM1 sockets, and are backed by a five year limited warranty.

GELID Solutions has a reputation of crafting quality fans, and today they have expanded their offerings to the slim market. Two models are being made available today, the Slim 12 UV Blue and Slim 12 PL Blue. Both fans measure 120 x 120 x 15.8 mm where as standard fans usually measure 120 x 120 x 25 mm. The Slim 12 UV Blue, is a fixed speed 1500 RPM fan and has UV reactive blue impellers. The Slim 12 PL Blue uses four blue LED’s, an LED on/off switch, and a PWM control for a RPM range of 900-1600. I can personally say that the LEDs and UV fan blades GELID uses are top notch and give off a soft glow. Both fans are available now for a MSRP of USD 8.60 /6.60 Euro (Slim 12 UV Blue) and USD 12.85 /EUR 9.90 (Slim 12 PL Blue). Here’s what GELID has to say about their new fans, direct links to the product pages are below…

Engineers at GELID Solutions go slim and have created two slim profile fans (120x120x15.8mm) with surprisingly high cooling performance.

The “Slim 12 UV Blue” fan comes with an UV reactive blue impeller and has a fixed rpm speed of 1500. The “Slim 12 PL Blue” also comes with a blue impeller but includes a high-quality PWM control for a rpm range of 900-1600. Additionally the “Slim 12 PL Blue” includes 4 blue LED lights and an on/off switch mounted on the frame of the fan. Although both fans generate high air flow, they are very silent. The “Slim 12 UV Blue” has a start voltage of only 5 volts and 7 volts for “Slim 12 PL Blue” to start. The “Slim 12 UV Blue” has a 5-year supplier warranty and because of the LED lights the “Slim 12 PL Blue” has a 3-year warranty.

Both fans are RoHS and WEEE conform.

“The trend is to go slim. We have tried to combine slim design with high performance and we have
achieved more than we have expected”, said VC Tran, Marketing Director of GELID Solutions Ltd.

Mini PC’s are growing into a more viable, high end option, and their popularity is running parallel with their performance. Digital Storm, a pre-built PC retailer is looking to play the mini PC game with their newly announced desktop gaming PC, the Bolt. Success won’t come easy, the Bolt is pitted against Alienware’s budget X51, Falcon Northwest’s Tiki, and possibly a few others we might have missed. Bolt starts at $999 and will come equipped with an i3-2100, GeForce GT 650, 8GB RAM, 1TB Hard drive, all connected to an Asus H77 motherboard. Despite the chassis being only 14″(35.5 cm) x 3.6″(9.1 cm) x 15″(38.1 cm) (H x W x D), coughing up another thousand bucks gets you an i7, GeForce GTX 680, double the RAM, and a 120GB SSD on top of your 1TB hard drive. Here’s what Digital Storm has to say about their PC, a direct link to the Bolt is below…

Explosive Power

The Bolt packs massive gaming power into an incredibly slim and sleek package. With Bolt, Digital Storm has taken all the features that gamer’s lust after and fit them into an ultra-portable design that’s not much bigger than your average gaming console. From quad core overclocked CPUs to high end video cards, Bolt has everything you need to lay waste to even the most demanding games.

An Unfair Advantage

The Bolt houses turbocharged hardware that blurs the rules of fairness. Stocked with a powerful NVIDIA graphics card, plentiful memory, an overclocked Intel quad core CPU, and bottomless storage, the Bolt is the “WMD” you’ve been wanting to add to your arsenal. Offering amped up frame rates that make game-play brilliantly intensive and silky-smooth. Ensuring that frustrating lag doesn’t follow you onto the battlefield.

Future-Proof

Out of the box the Bolt will conquer any game, but in time you may want to upgrade your arsenal. Nothing is worse than spending good money on a PC that becomes obsolete due to a lack of upgradeability. With the Bolt, keeping your system at the bleeding edge is simple. With a mighty power supply, room for large video cards and additional drives, your investment can stay on the bleeding edge for years to come.

Incomparable Value

With an incredibly powerful line-up of hardware inside, the Bolt focuses on dominating your game-play and not your bank account. Starting at $999, the Bolt allows gamers to not only get a bleeding edge system that plays the latest games, but to have money left over to actually buy those games. The Bolt’s value also gives gamers the peace of mind that they can look down the road to being able to afford future upgrades.

Cooler Master Quickfire series contains bunch of different layouts and styles all using mechanical keys. Today they have released their newest unit the QuickFire TK, a tenkeyless mechanical gaming keyboard. Rather than traditional tenkeyless keyboards, the TK keeps it’s numpad and ditches the command keys which are now called upon with the use of a FN or function key. The keyboard comes in three different styles each with a different mechanical switch and backlight.

Other features include switchable 6KRO and NKRO over USB, keyboard and media controls in F keys, and a braided detachable cable. Here is what Cooler Master has to say about their latest offering along with a direct link to their product page…

“You’re a gamer. You know that a mechanical keyboard means the difference between winning and losing. The original QuickFire Rapid gaming keyboard was embraced by gamers worldwide because it made the difference. Now the QuickFire TK takes the QuickFire Rapid and put it on steroids! Choose between 3 different Cherry MX switches. Each keycap is UV coated to make it durable. There’s full LED backlighting with 3 modes and 5 brightness levels. NKRO over USB means every single keystroke will be registered. An embedded steel plate give you maximum stability and durability. 7 easy-access multimedia shortcut keys save time. A complete numpad lets you get work done while not gaming. The slim and lightweight size gives you plenty of room for your mouse. Great for LAN parties.”

Part of the fun of buying a new graphic card is seeing what it can do at its peak. Options are not necessarily limited but new choices are definitely welcomed. Plastic Image has just released a teaser for a new scripted 3D scene benchmark preparing to enter closed beta. Titled Catzilla, this cross-API benchmark is capable of testing OpenGL 4.0 along with DirectX 9 and 11, on 32 and 64-bit systems running Windows XP and up, including Windows 8.
