I will be adding new posts again after taking extended, extended leave. Glad to see we still have many visitors coming here to use it as a resource for work-at-home ideas!

With the U.S. economy in the toilet and companies needing to cut costs, or close shop, many are looking to hire at-home workers. The increase in job loss and unemployment has also raised the demand for legitimate work-at-home opportunities.

This blog is a free work-at-home resource for anyone. You can find both; companies that offer legitimate work-at-home opportunities and home business ideas.

I believe the decline in our economy is ultimately going to catapult an already changing workforce. More of us have already been looking for ways to take our destiny into our own hands by becoming independent contractors, starting our own companies, or demanding our employers to offer more flexibility and the ability to work from home.

Check back often and feel free to comb through previous posts. I have posted many home business ideas with low start-up costs and have featured companies that offer work-from-home positions.

Also feel free to post any home business, work-at-home opportunities, or contractor positions you come across.

Today I came across a couple of companies that are hiring customer care representatives to work from home. Their need increases during the holiday season so you will have to ask them about long term positions if that is what you are looking for.

her show and is offering a free online class with him that helps you
figure out whether you are in the right field and what your natural
strengths are.
I took the online class and look for my own strengths now instead of letting others tell me what they are!

Wow, time has flown! I didn't realize it has been so long since I have updated this blog. I have been in the process of making many changes in my life! Ever since I have read the book A New Earth, by Eckhart Tolle, my outlook and priorities have changed somewhat.
I will briefly share with you what I have learned from this book as far as career and purpose are concerned...
We have an inner purpose and an outer purpose in life. Our inner purpose is primary, the most important, and our outer purpose is secondary. Inner purpose is who you are, outer purpose is what you do and the roles you play. Inner purpose is evolving as a human by awakening to our spirit(or whatever you want to call it) and realizing it is who we truly are. Once we awaken to our true self(our spirit) which is always in the present moment, then what we do as our outer purpose will align itself with the inner purpose and just flow naturally.
If that makes sense to you and want to know more, I suggest buying the book! If it doesn't make sense to you or you just don't care, that is ok, move onto something else that does make sense to you!
That is where I am at right now. I haven't decided what direction I am going to be taking this blog yet. I will let you know when it comes to me! Meanwhile, I hope you find the existing information here useful.

Action Of The Day! Create A Bucket List.

I challenge you to do this ONE simple thing, sometime today:
Today create a 'Bucket List'. This list consists of things you want to do before you kick-the-bucket. In other words, die.
Keep the list handy for when you start feeling like life is getting boring, mundane, or a little depressing. It is a good reminder of the limited amount of time we have here and that you need to be focusing your energy on things you want to do.

My husband and I saw the movie, 'The Bucket List' this weekend. It was an inspiring movie and made me revisit my bucket list. I added and crossed off a couple of things from my list. It is fun doing the things on the list and then crossing it off. Try it!

Action Of The Day! Keep A Healthy Perspective.

I challenge you to do this ONE simple thing, sometime today:
Make sure that through the challenges you face today that you keep a healthy perspective. What I mean by that is, keep in mind what is really important in life. Your kids, family, friends, freedom to choose what is right for yourself, your health, etc. We tend to take these things for granted and lose sight of them in the midst of challenge and controversy. For some reason we get so wrapped up in drama and forget about the grander importance of things that really matter.
So today practice keeping a healthy perspective. When you catch yourself wrapped up in drama, stress, controversy, check yourself. Ask yourself if this is what you would be thinking about or doing if you knew you were going to die soon.

I am guilty of getting engrossed in controversy. I hate controversy, so when I find myself in the middle of it for some reason I feel like I have to fix it! It is hard for me to just let it be. But I have realized how much time and energy I waste doing that. Instead, now I can be engrossed in my son, family, and friends.

In this day and age of information surplus, productivity overload, and uber-technology, it is important to know how to turn it off and tune it out!
Today, spend an hour without your computer, books, television, magazines, cell phone, pda, ipod, etc. Give your brain a rest from constant stimulation. It will thank you.

I try to spend a couple hours every week away from information technology and other information resources. There is just SO much information being fed to us all the time that if I don't spend some time away from it, I actually start getting stupider! If stupider is even a word. If not, I just made it one. Anyway. It helps me to get away from information overload. Try it!

I challenge you to do this ONE simple thing, sometime today:
Today forgive yourself for not being perfect. For being human and making mistakes. Mistakes are how we learn to be better. Without mistakes we would never learn how to reach our full potential.
If you have made any mistakes this past week, or anytime, that you keep beating yourself up about, forgive yourself. Take the lesson and become better because of it!

My relationship with my step-daughter can be turbulent sometimes. Don't get me wrong, we have a close bond but sometimes there is tension between us. Of course it doesn't help that she is a teenager. Teenagers are moody and at odds with adults a lot of the time anyway. But, I tend to really beat myself up about not being able to always be the perfect step-mom to her. I REALLY beat myself up for any wrong move I think I make with her. So, I have to start forgiving myself for it. Realize that I am doing the best that I know how under the circumstances.

Action Of The Day! Create A Self-Portrait.

I challenge you to do this ONE simple thing, sometime today:
Create a self-portrait. I am not talking about sitting for a photographer or painter and letting them capture you on canvas or print. I am talking about gathering things from around the house/office, and writing down things that make you feel good about yourself to make a collage of sorts. Look for pictures, awards, articles you like, anything you've created, and things you've accomplished. Anything that proudly represents who you were, are, and want to be!
This is a great way to keep you centered. Anytime you are feeling insecure, like you are loosing a sense of self-esteem, keep this self-portrait handy. It will help you feel good about yourself again and inspire you to do more great things in your life!

I recently started gathering pictures and other things around my house that remind me of times I felt really good about myself, things I have accomplished that I am proud of, items that remind me what I like to do, who I am and want to be! It helps to look at that self-portrait when I am not feeling so great about myself or when I am feeling frustrated about anything. I look at it to recenter myself and feel inspired again!
