Bob Eskew Grows Automated Systems Design, Inc.

Bob Eskew is the founder and CEO of Automated Systems Design, Inc. (ASD), a four-time Inc. 5000 company and the leading nationwide solution for custom turnkey information transport systems.

      <dc:subject>Business Planning, Communication, Entrepreneurship, Leadership</dc:subject>

ASD has been named a Top Growth Company by the Entrex Private Company Index (PCI) for its 38 percent growth in Q2 2010 over Q2 2009. PCI is a proprietary benchmarking tool that measures revenue performance in the sector of private companies with $250 million or less in annual revenue.

Bob began his career serving briefly in the Army and was awarded an honorable discharge.

Later, he worked on the assembly line at General Motors installing clutch pedals. In 1984, he was offered the opportunity to join the management training program and was assigned to the Quality Control department at the Lakewood plant in Atlanta, Georgia.

Here are some of the questions that guided the discussion:

1. What did your journey of from the army, to the assembly line at General Motors to “taking a chance” on the cabling business teach you about business?

2. After 25 years of successfully running a debt-free company do you still find yourself “taking a chance”? If so, in what ways?

3. As an entrepreneur, how do you balance risk with opportunity?

4. What has been your biggest challenge in growing your company from a start-up to a successful multi-million dollar company, and how did you overcome it?

5. You have said that ASD “is a 25-year-old start up.” What do you mean by that and in what ways does that benefit your company?

6. You are known for rejecting the status quo of your industry. How does an entrepreneur successfully carve their own path, even if it goes against industry norms?

7. You were born and raised in Atlanta, and your nationwide company Automated Systems Design (ASD) has the headquarters there. What is it about Atlanta that makes it a good location for you to run your business?

Larry Connors: Connors Research

Joining us on this edition is Larry Connors-he’s the CEO and founder of Connors Research. The company is a financial markets research company that owns a proprietary, core database of over 8.4 million equity trades-a unique repository of data on short-term market behavior that underlies all of their products, informs their models and methodologies to give equity traders a professional edge.

      <dc:subject>Finance, Management, News & Events, Technology</dc:subject>

Mr. Connors has authored several top-selling books on market strategies and volatility trading, including How Markets Really Work, and Street Smarts (with Linda Raschke). Street Smarts Short Term Trading Strategies That Work, and his latest, High Probability ETF Trading.

Connors Research is of course a top growth company as rated on the Entrex Private Company Index. Here are the questions that gioding this segment:

1.	I wanted to talk about the heart of Connors Research-your proprietary database of 8.4 million equity trades. For those listening that might not be familiar with the world of stock trading-give us a sense of why this information is such a valuable asset and how it informs your own “behavioral models“and ultimately the services you provide to traders.

2.	You’ve written a handful of books designed to help traders understand the dynamics of financial markets and stock movement. What are some of the most commons problems or issues that non-professional traders struggle with?

3.	I wanted to get your insights on the general distinction between investing or trading using fundamentals, and the technical analysis, which seems to be where your focus is. How do you think about each of these approaches, and why would a trader or investor choose one over the other?

4.	You’ve suggested that many of your clients are now moving into ETF’s (Exchange Traded Funds). And you’ve release a new book called High Probability ETF Trading—now in it’s second printing! For those that may not know—-what are ETF’s and why are they attracting so many traders and investors right now?

5.	I wanted to get a closer look at Connors Research—-give us a tour of your internal team, and the products, and the information services you offer—- insight how does the company generate revenue?

6.	Connors is a top growth company on the Entrex Private Company Index—-why do you think the your company has been growing so successfully?

7.	You recently moved your headquarters from Los Angeles to New York—-why the move and how has it changed the face of your business?

8.	What’s on the horizon for Connors Research—-will you be adding products, services forward-going, stay with your current core business model—-what can we expect downstream?
