New Fundraising Program Available

School is back in session for another year - which means another summer has gone by - which means fall and winter are ahead. I will say no more about that topic! The good part about the fall arriving is that for those of us who have school aged children, the routine of getting the kids out to school everyday is back which means an empty house during the day, for the most part.
EnviroBottles has also launched its new fundraising program that is actually a two parter this year. Fundraising with Wrap-N-Mats allows you to achieve up to 52% profit selling this practical and durable sandwich wrapper and placemat in one. Wrap-N-Mat is the original sandwich wrapper, available since 1997. We love this product and have been using the same ones for several years now. Both adults and children utilize the pouch and the sandwich wrapper, along with a stainless steel bottle, to support the litterless lunch initiative which many schools have adopted.
Secondly, our fundraising with stainless steel water bottles, tumblers and reusable lumch bags allows the fundraiser to put whatever mark up on the products that they feel they can achieve. Environmental Issues Worldwide

Hello,

My name is Maria and I have a major interest in the environment, and all the factors that affect it in a detrimental way. A few of these include: Pollution, Bottled Water, the burning of Fossil Fuels, and Combustion which is a very dangerous aspect that was introduced by man kind. This helped speed along the proccess of global warming and continues to play a role in the warming of our atmosphere. These are just a few components that influence our environment in a very negative way. More of us need to take these issues a lot more seriously and with consideration for our earth. Not only is the environment affected by it, but we are also and it will not get better until we take a stand and make a difference!

That was my blog for the day, I hoped it made you deeply think about these issues!

TAKE THE PLEDGE

EnviroBottles is taking very seriously the issue with plastic water bottles and using water as a commodity. The information is vast regarding the seriousness of this problem - not only from the waste it generates, but by the fact that a valuable resource that should be available FREE to every human being is used to give HUGE profits to some big businesses. North Americans don't realize that the purchase of water is step towards privatizing drinking water and therefore, working towards making water a commodity. In third world countries where clean drinking water is very difficult to attain, people walk for many miles to get one or 2 jugs of this resource. We can turn on a tap, thoughtlessly, and fill a glass, flush a toilet, have a shower, bathe our pets, wash our cars........and not think twice.

Our goal is to get as many people as possible to sign our pledge: "I pledge not to drink bottled water where municipal water is available. According to the Polaris Institute, 30% of Canadians use bottled water as their main source of drinking water. Isn't that a scary thought?! Send us your name and municipality of residence and we will put your name on our growing list of concerned citizens who are willing to give up the use of bottled water, with the exception of emergencies.

New Phone Number

EnviroBottles has decided it't time to step into the new way of doing business and has made the move to cellular service - including text messaging! Our business causes us to be mobile a lot and our land line can't come with us. Therefore, beginning July 1, we will be doing phone business exclusively with our cell phone. We welcome texts as well and if you would prefer to talk on the phone but are long distance, please provide us with your phone number and we will be happy to call you back on our nickel!
We think this move will serve our customers better and will make us more available, even when we're out of the office.

Expo 150 in Renfrew County A Huge Success!

Renfrew County Expo 150 attracted 40,000 visitors last week between Thursday and Sunday - needless to say it was a huge success. Organizers were hoping for 20,000 people to partake of the celebration so their efforts more than paid off. There were so many things to do and see with events and activities for those of all ages.
EnviroBottles was proud to be a participant and encourage the folks who dropped by our booth to sign our "pledge". I pledge not to drink bottled water where public water is available. We have made this our mission to educate people on the hazards of using, and sometimes drinking, bottled water.

Expo 150 in Renfrew County

From June 9 to 12 there is going to be a great Ottawa Valley celebration in Pembroke, Ontario in honour of our county turning 150 years young. It is going to be a 4 day event with over 200 exhibitors, Stone Fence Theatre, our own Canadian military based in Petawawa, Hockey Hall of Fame, and on and on. Plan on coming for a holiday to this beautiful part of Ontario. We hope and pray that by then there will be nothing but fair, sunny skies. EnviroBottles will be there promoting our "Take the Pledge". Sign on to use municipal tap water whenever it's available and receive a free token while supplies last.We have lots of cool, new products that support our planet! Drop by - you'll be glad you did :)

Spring Slow To Appear!

Here we are - moving towards the end of March and we still have TOO much snow in our yard:( Spring is slow to arrive in Eastern Ontario this year and winter is decidedly TOO long.
How is your move towards using more reusable and/or recyclable products coming? Are you making 2011 your year to jump in with both feet to the greening of your home? Small things add up quickly - just take a look at your blue box or your paper/cardboard box and be proud of how much waste you are keeping from going into the landfill in your area. Everyone can recycle or compost with little effort but with big rewards. Give it an honest try and commit to it - you'll be surprised every week when you carry your trash to the curb.
Don't forget to use those reusable water bottles and tap water - avoid bottled water whenever possible!!!

A New Year - 2011

We are well into our first week of 2011. The biggest challenge is to get used to writing the date differently on all our cheques, invoices, etc. It doesn't seem that long ago that Y2K was looming and now we have completed a full decade of 2K. How was your Christmas season? Were you able to implement any environmentally friendly changes during your festivities? Maybe use reusable gift bags, no disposable drinkware or dinnerware for your gatherings, use LED lights, when possible purchase products that have reduced packaging? Can you imagine if we all did even some of these at Christmas the difference there would be in the landfills? It is possible to change the world one person at a time. Let's each of us attempt to be THAT PERSON!

Hi everybody! Can you believe that 2010 is coming to a close once and for all and that we will soon have to start remembering to write 2011 on all our dated items? This year went by incredibly quickly - could it have anything to do with my age? :)

It's the little things

In life as in everything else it is the little things that count. It is the little things that make all the difference to our lives. When you want to take steps to become more eco-friendly, take baby steps and try to implement one thing at a time. Do that one thing for 21 days and it will become a habit. There are many little things that can help families go green in their daily life. One of those things is the Wrap-N-Mat.

I have been using these in my kids lunches since last year. My husband also uses them for work. We use the snack pouches too. I think I love how easy they are to use and the kids love the designs.
