The garden is a low water garden, fruit trees and vegetables which together with the reconstituted sandstone exterior gives this house a homely and pleasant character.

Designed by Mike Galea and Daniel Petros this 290sqm house gives EnvironArc a benchmark to compare their future projects against.

*UPDATE*

This three level house had a number of challenges with it. An easement running through the block had to be negotiated. This in conjuction with a challenging budget made for some heavy thinking ,hard work and very close liaison with the client.

In the end this house was completed in October 2011 and ober the three levels that it spans takes great pride and position on its site. The use of traditionally Australian materials makes this house sit in the landscape as if it was meant to be there, which (of course) it is.

Our residential designer has pulled off a stunning piece of architecture and we wish our clients all the best in their new home.

/ EnvironArc

EnvironArc’s residential designer Daniel Petros is behind this house at Seaview Downs that are now starting to materialise.

Seeing the framework a few weeks ago we can now see how the building takes shape and with a good selection of materials it looks to be a very beautiful house when completed. Stay tuned for more images.

May 1st, the new Disability (Access to Premises – Buildings) Standards 2010 come into effect.

This means a significant change and upgrade in the way architects, surveyors and certifiers need to deal with, and respond to, the challenges and opportunities of accessibility issues.
In conjuction with the new standards the NCC has been issued (formerly the BCA) unifying the requirements within the construction code to those of the Disability (Access to Premises – Buildings) Standards 2010 so that by following the NCC (BCA) all accessibility requirements will be met.

The Australian Standards AS1428.1-5 are still effective and should be referred to .

All in all there is much work to be done but this new legislation will surely make life easier, and more accessible, for all of us.
