The latest iterations of the BitDefender lineup of security products, designed to play nice with the most recent version of the Windows client, are now available for download as trial versions and for purchase. BitDefender Total Security 2010, BitDefender Antivirus 2010 and BitDefender Internet Security 2010 are all up for grabs, launched today, August 17th, 2009, all three featuring the Windows 7 Ready logo. While not sporting the “Compatible with Windows 7” logo, the new BitDefender security solution lineup does indeed come with support for Windows 7, which was released to manufacturing on July 22nd, 2009.

Avian Music Player for Windows Mobile

Overview
Avian Play is a new kind of music player for Windows Mobile. Avian Play provides an intuitive, unique, and user customizable user interface, inspired by modern mobile user interface designs and tweaked for a powerful music player, and an audio engine based on the most accurate and blazingly fast portable audio engine available on any platform - the MAD MP3 decoder. Avian Play gives you three completely separate playback control surfaces, depending on the type of file you are playing. You get a separate control surface for music, podcasts, and internet radio. The controls you need for each of those separate audio tasks is not the same, so why should the same buttons be visible, wasting screen real estate? Another unique feature not found on any portable media player I know of is how Avian Play treats online radio stations. A playlist for a single stream is treated as a single unit, remembering the backup servers to try if the server you are listening to goes down. This information is cached and refreshed periodically automatically, so you have to update your stream lists less frequently. To top it all off, an included plugin for Avian Play supports the free SHOUTcast (TM) online radio service, and has an open Library plugin API so that other online services (and anything else you might need in the library) can be added easily. The Avian Play library is one of the other shining features of Avian Play. It is a robust SQL CE database core, with user customizable queries. When you are in any list of query results, you can immediately filter the list by simply typing something in your SIP or physical keyboard. No lag instant search!

If you like a graphically robust user interface, such as that which is used on iPhone, Zune, any many other players, Avian Play may not be for you. The design goals of Avian Play is maximum power and capability, with a robust library, customizable queries, and many other deep features yet to come. Interfaces such as sliding/flipping album covers is probably not going to ever be included. :-)

Avian Play has a lot of features, and I know I'm forgetting a lot. If somebody wants to help me document this app, I would be grateful. I'm terrible at documentation. Maybe a series of tutorial YouTubes? :-D

Future
This project was started a year ago before the announcement of Windows Phone 7 and I'm glad I have seen it through to completion. Although Windows Mobile is a platform on the brink of death, I consider this my magnum opus for Windows Mobile and a fitting tribute to the capabilities of the underrated OS. I will continue to develop on this app as long as I have a Windows Mobile phone... Probably another year or so. I'm waiting for either WP7 to open up, or maybe making the jump to Android. Maybe I'll port it to both if it's popular. Avian Play was designed in a highly modular fashion. I did this intentionally back when everybody thought WP7 would still be based on the same core as WP6, so I could replace the UI components or audio engine easily. If anybody is interested in working an Android port right now, please PM me and let's talk.

Album Art
I know somebody is going to ask. How do I get to see Album Art?! Well, in this first release, album art is only viewable as thumbnails in the library. In the future, a new plugin architecture for the playback label/panel will provide customizable playback information, such as album art.

Gapless Playback?
Unfortunately, not yet... I think it should be possible, but I don't know C++ well enough to hack the MAD code. :-( Any volunteers???

Requirements
- Windows Phone (Windows Mobile) 6.0 or newer
- .Net Compact Framework 3.5
- SQL CE 3.5 (this is included in the cab installer)
- ALL resolutions supported! For non-192 DPI devices (aka, non-VGA), skin bitmaps are automatically scaled to resolution

Installation
The compact framework and SQL CE are required for Avian Play. If you do not have SQL CE installed, the installer will install it for you. However, if you have an older version of SQL CE (such as 2.0), the installer may not install SQL CE 3.5. So if Avian Play doesn't work after installation, this is probably the issue. If this happens, download and install the SQL CE 3.5 redistributable attached to this message. In the future, I hope to have a more intelligent installer that will detect older versions.

After installing Avian Play and running it for the first time, please allow 10-15 minutes for all supported audio files to be discovered and entered into the Library. From then on, Avian Play will automatically detect changes in the library contents until you close Avian Play. Each subsequent time you run Avian Play, it will scan for new files again, but it will be much quicker because it is only looking for changes.

Skype on the 3 Network Outside of UK Available Now

Are you on the 3 network outside of UK?
Got an android phone and can't avail of your 4000 free skype minutes p/m as there is no Skype on 3 apk available where you are?

As you might know, an official 3Skype apk is only available on 3UK, which I have attached should anyone need it (it only works in the UK).

There is no Skype on 3 apk here in Ireland and, as far as I know, no app in Oz, Italy, Sweden, Austria...and wherever else Hutchinson 3G operates!

Over the last few years, Skype has proven to be a very useful application, particularly when you don’t want to use your plan minutes. Unfortunately, there are many network providers who will block these kind of services to charge the customer (you and I) as much as possible.

These modded Iskoot apks are for 3Ireland, 3Australia, 3Italy, 3Denmark & 3Austria (attached to this post). Simply install it, no root or adb needed. You are now able to make your free skype calls! Please test and report in this thread.

If there is interest from elsewhere, I will tweak it for your country too, just post a request here.

There are a couple of things I should mention:
1. The apk will drain your battery fast as it constantly connects to server.
2. It does not refresh the connection properly, so after you have made a skype call your received calls get routed through Iskoot servers, costing you skype credit on received calls.

Here's how you can make it work 100% flawlessly for you:
1. In the Iskoot apk - check "Sign in automatically".
2. Leave the "receive calls" box unchecked.
3. Install "Setting Profiles Lite" (free) from the market. Link here
4. In Setting Profiles Lite - Go to rules > press menu button > new rule > add condition > shedule period.
3. Set "On for 2 min every 45 minutes".
4. Add action > run application > "Skype".
5. "Do on rule enter - Start App"; "Do on rule exit - Kill App".
6. Done.

This will autostart the app every 45 min, letting it run for 2 min, then kill it. Received calls will be free and still get pushed to your phone, even when the app's been killed (you will always show as online to your Skype contacts). Whenever you need to make a call - just start the app manually, then kill it with your task killer when you're done. Your battery consupmtion will hardly even be affected. Enjoy!

*This is a work in progress! Please try to avoid posts like 'when is it done?' Such comments make every developer angry grrr!

*We need to write a Linux driver for the Elan B81 touchscreen in hd2 and many other things like net, audio, .. are also missing.

*We know about most available sources of Linux kernel code for the snapdragon devices. It is not necessary to point to evo, bravo, nexus etc.

New Project Google translator for Windows mobile

Now You can easily use google translator on your windows mobile phones, with this application "Anuvadak". This name taken from Hindi language wich means "translator". Anuvadak derives it functionality from Google translation service. I have tried to incorporate the complete Google translator features in this app. Anuvadak is different from the other apps as it offers a completely different user experience.

Features:
1. Attractive UI.
2. Text to speech translation enabled (Not for all languages but for all which Google supports) . The voice is same as used on Google's translation portal.
3. Romanization of the all the supported languages. (Beta)
4. Copy translation
5. Send translation by SMS
And at last
6.) Google like instant translation. This feature is still in development but I am ready to release with beta version. The instant translation feature works awesome with wifi but does reasonably ok with 3g also.
You can click on any past translated texts also and then re-translate them using the sub menus.
So all in all... Whatever Google offers on their website, Anuvadak does it. (Except for auto-detect language. This feature was intentionally excluded. Will be included in the next minor release)

Known issues some languages are not properly rendered on the some devices (eg. Arabic, hindi, manadarin ,thai.. etc). This has to do with the localized ROMs.

WindowsMobile-to-Android (XDANDROID) Updated to Encompass Froyo 2.2

The popular project transformation Windows Mobile-to-Android (XDANDROID) never end, recently new project has added to the list of Android builds for which there is now a port available.

Due to its alpha state, the build is likely to be quite unstable and not everything works efficiently. babijoee released the build as soon as possible once the Froyo AOSP was made available to developers, with hopes that users can provide useful testing feedback with regard to Android 2.2.

Motorola Launching New Android Droid X phone

Motorola has just launched its latest smartphone, Droid X that can run on Google's Android operating system. Motorola's latest phone is displaying high-resolution 4.3-inch screen, which is one of the greatest smartphones on the market.

X Droid is equipped with 8-megapixel camera and has access to Android Market, also has more than 65,000 applications. "Motorola Droid X is designed to push the limits of innovation Android extremes, and allows you to do more with your mobile device," said Sanjay Jha, chief executive of Motorola.

Motorola phone has now officially announced the latest android droid x by using the operating system from google inc. Also has an HDMI port in it.

Motorola Inc. finally officially introduced the latest version of the Android phone Droid X. Latest Android phone is ready for launch later on July 15 in the United States with Verizon Wireless for sales coupled.

Droid previous versions, Droid X using the latest Android operating system from Google Inc. that is Android 2.2. In smart phones with 4.3-inch touchscreen, 8 megapixel camera with dual flash that can record high definition video.

Droid X also has an HDMI port so users can connect to a television so that they can watch content stored on the phone to a bigger screen.

Excess Droid X iPhone is not owned by Adobe Flash Player 1.10 to watch a video.

Meanwhile, Verizon Wireless, the largest wireless operator in the United States, announced that they will sell X Droid on site and shops, with prices around 200 dollars, or approximately USD $ 1.8 million next start July 15

How to Android work on windows mobile, please read carefully step by step instalation
Instal CAB version

Step 1 - Prepare your SD Card
Find a nice clean SD card to load Android on.
You can either format your card to get it entirely clean, or you can leave all the files you may already have on there.
*Warning* - If you have valuable data on your card, back it up. Android is usually safe, but if you can't afford to lose the data on your card, don't risk it!
Some cards have difficulty working, there is a POSSIBILITY this is due to the formatting of the card. If in doubt, format to FAT32, not FAT16
Step 2 - Download and install the CAB
Download and install the following 'full package' cab (a collection of ALL the files you'll need to run Android on your device) Get it here! You MUST install on the Storage Card. The cab file will take a couple of minutes to install Android. Please be patient.
For those that are interested the cab files does the following:
- Installs Android in the root of the SD Card
- Deploys the correct Startup.txt for the device (the user can choose their device type)
- Adds a high res icon for Android in the root of the SD Card
- Installs a shortcut in Program Files named "Android" (launches Haret.exe)
- Installs the high res icon in the registry for WM6.5 users
Step 3 - Run Android
Android is now installed... So launch 'Android' from your Program Files menu in WinMo. Your phone should reboot into Android with 2 quick vibrations.
Have patience... the first time you do this can take a LONG time (3 mins or more). During the first boot on SOME devices, you will be asked to calibrate the screen. This is very similar to Windows Mobile screen calibration (except it's in text mode).
The reason the first boot takes longer is that Android is 'preparing' your device for the first time.

Known Issues
Many things are still not working properly, and the developers are fully aware of 99% of them.

* SDCard - Most SDCards are working, but if you the 'waiting for SDCard' message, you should try one of these fixes (and please let us know if it works)

Fix 2: Edit your startup.txt file and add these entries to your cmdline:

Fix 3: Tell your wife / girlfriend that you are about to make some modifications to her phone... change the ringtone and steal her old Class 2 SD Card to use with Android. She will never discover what you have done, and if she does, you'll be able to use Android to send texts to your former girlfriends ;-)
* Camera - Not working
* GPS - Should be working, but it's only just been enabled (so could be buggy)
* Battery Status - Highly problematic for most users (don't trust the capacity Android tells you, it's simply up and down a lot, and highly inaccurate)
* WiFi - Working for most people, suspected to cause slight heat, definitely drains the battery faster than WinMo. Some users have reported freezes when switching WiFi off
* Audio - Speaker working for most people, microphone can have issues
* Deep Sleep - Working for most people, but can have issues waking up (sometimes, it will not wake up)
* GPRS - Working
* 3G - Working for most
* PIN Code - Not working
* GSensor - Working (Screen only handles 0 and 270 degrees)
* Bluetooth - Experimentally working (don't expect too much, but it's working for a number of users)
* OpenGL ES - Not working
* USB - Supported, but will NOT operate in mass storage mode. You can charge via USB and you can debug, but forget accessing your files by it.
* Headphone Socket - Semi working (see FAQ for details on how to make it work)
* Application Errors: It's very common to see 'Application (xxxxxx) is not responding: Force Close or Wait'. Click wait. I do not know the precise reason for this, but from what I can gather, it COULD be related to the slow speed of the SD Card causing the app response times to JUST be a little too slow for Android's liking, thus causing the message. This seems to happen more after bootup or wakeup when the device is busy doing stuff in the background.
* Cannot choose ringtones: This is believed to be caused by the media scanner failing (due to discovering some filenames with none English characters). The best option of all is to use a CLEAN SD Card. But, if you insist on hosting other files on the same SD Card, you MUST make sure they have English character filenames.

uShout (beta) Easily Chat with Your Friend on Android Phones

Android is great OS for me. many applications, software, until tweaking on Android is very nice. One more phone have an OS there lies, we can modified our phone without hesitation.This time we will review obout uShout for our android phones, this is like a app for chatting on your phones. The basic idea is that you can easily "chat" with other random users. I find this very hard to explain without showing so I will just run through the process here. You launch the app then you can write something in a text box and "shout it". The message gets uploaded and then you download a message that someone else has shouted out. You can then either download another message or reply to the message you have, effectively initiating a conversation with that person.

Im publishing uShout as a closed early beta here. Feel free to give it a go, I just want to try it out with a limited group of users. This app also ready for android 2.1.

Just download the attached .apk, throw it on your phone's storage (or SD card) and use a file manager to open it and install the app! Its rather boring atm considering no one is using it, but that will hopefully change once I publish it onto the market!

How to Optimization Your Andoid Phones?

The HTC G1 is the Android phone was introduced to the world. Google's OS is owned by the public attention. However, we should further explore the optimization of Android phones, including the use of appropriate software will be able to optimize the performance of this Android-based phone.

1. Replace the default Music Player With TuneWiki.
Android bundled Music program is fairly weak and clumsy. Our suggestion: Ditch it and take TuneWiki from Android Market. It is easier to use than the bundled Music program, and has more features (such as fun karaoke function that searches for lyrics online and running with your song because it plays). Of course, you can download TuneWiki for iPhone, but only if jailbroken and open (which would void the warranty). This difference is the symbol of one of the main differences between Android and the iPhone-Android does not ban applications that compete with or replace its own programs.

2. Use "Any Cut" To Put a Shortcut to Goog-411 On Your Home Screen.
One of our favorite Android applications downloaded is a small program called Any Cut, which allows you to trash your home screen with shortcuts to programs, phone number, recipients of text messages or menu settings. Use this program to create a home-screen speed dial to Goog-411-Google's free directory assistance numbers to cut the number of clicks it takes to get your number-on-demand to one. Bonus Tip: Create a shortcut to text message GOOGLE (466 453) for when calling just uncomfortable.

3. Play video in MPEG-4 H.264.
The G1 has no built-in video player. That is for the Android Market. When we tested the phone, there is only one true video playback program available: Video Player. And while this program can only play MPEG-4 movie files, we will soon see other programs that will play video-capable of handling all types of codecs. However, even when this option becomes available, you still want to play your movies in MPEG-4 H.264 compression whenever possible. This is because the G1 has a built-in hardware acceleration that makes video format smooth extra special. Future programs will probably run Divx and Xvid and all the big files you've collected from Bittorrent, but on-the-fly decryption programs' and see will be far more heavily on software, which can mean missed.

4. Search Google Maps From Front Page Widget.
The G1's default home screen has a Google search widget. While this obviously makes Google's Web searches faster, also a quick way to get into Google Maps. When you type the name of a place or location, you will be given a regular Google search results pages, with location map above. Click on these results, and the phone will ask you whether you want to switch from a browser and go to the Maps program to complete your request.

5. Use the Hard Search Key.
If there is one company that understands the value of search, it's Google. And one of the best parts of the physical keyboard keys G1 difficult to search (the one that looks like a little magnifying glass) Hitting from the main screen. Takes on Google's search bar. This is great, but what is more interesting is its use within individual Google-made programs like YouTube and Maps, where pressing it brings up a search bar specific to that program, allowing you to find what you're looking for in an app easily and quickly.

6. Focus Before Shooting.
Camera phones known for their blurred images. The G1's autofocus tries to change this: When you half press the camera button on the phone, assign the autofocus (anybody who has autofocused with a stand-alone camera will find it familiar). When done with a focus, a green circle appears in the corner of the screen, letting you know it's time to take a picture with a single keypress. So remember when shooting to wait for the green circles for the better, Facebook-worthy results.

vacuum after a few days to find everything related to windows mobile, I find the article now if Debian running on Windows Mobile. wow very interesting, so I decided I'd share [the instructions] are relatively easy. First, though, to run Debian on Windows Mobile at least the hardware is ...

* X11 is working quite nicely. 480x640 resolution is best for using E17.
* I'm trying to think up a solution for the 3D accelerator. LLVMpipe works but it's not much faster than classic Mesa. Maybe that's because I'm only testing performance with Mupen64Plus and SuperTux :P Ideally we would have an open-source OpenGL ES 1.0 driver with an OpenGL 1.3 wrapper/Gallium state tracker, but unfortunately Qualcomm closed it :(
* The hardware buttons don't generate input events (except the power button, which apparently makes SDL windows fullscreen).
* USB function ether works. This means you can SSH into it or update packages without a data connection (I don't think data even works).
* Sound doesn't work because Android doesn't use ALSA - or maybe because DZO hasn't written the proper driver...
* Camera(s) would need a Video4Linux driver; again, not my area :P
* Bluetooth is untested.
* GPS needs userspace work (gpsd?) - maybe the HTC Dream page at HTC-Linux.org has info...

Tentu kan sudah banyak tau tentang Google Picasa, Yup tempat ini adalah image hosting yang diberikan mbah google secara gratis. Kita diberi space sekitar 1Gb, lumayan untuk menmpatkan gambar-gambar favorit kita atau untuk tempat menyimpan gambar-gambar yang akan kita pakai buat postingan. Saya sendiri menggunakan picasa untuk menyimpan gambar-gambar dimana yang saya butuhkan ketika saya akan membuat artikel yang mengharuskan ada gambar. Tentu akan lebih menghemat space dari blog kita, kerana blogspot cuman memberikan kita space 3Gb. Untuk daftar cukup mudah, cukup bermodalkan email yang diberikan mbah google secara gratis yakni gmail. Sialahkan kesini untuk yang mau nyimpan gambar favoritnya. Membuat Search Engine Sendiri tanpa Bantuan Google di Blog Kita

Dalam beberapa hari ini saya masih membenahi blog saya yang masih orat-arit a.k.a. acak karena memang tergolong blog baru dan masih sagat banyak pembenahan masalah tata letak serta fasilitas-fasilitas yang dipasang. Kebetulan Search engine belum ada lalu saya blogwalking dan nemu script yang bagus untuk ditempel di blog saya. Sebenarnya sudah beberapa hari yang lalu saya sudah memasang search engine dengan bantuan mbah google, tapi apa yang terjadi??? ketika saya tes ternyata belum banyak masuk/ terindex oleh google, dari banyak artikel yang saya tulis ketika melakukan pencarian dengan fasilitas punya google belum ada setengah dari artikel yang saya buat dideteksi oleh google. Percuma bukan??? ini sangat menjadi kendala bagi blog baru yang ingin membuat fasilitas search engine di blognya. Hasilnya??? artikel yang baru saya tulis langsug bisa kedetek tanpa harus nunggu lama seperti halnya google search engine. Banyak bacot, langsung aja!!!!
