If your clients’ recent financial results have been so spectacular that they feel now is the time to make significant technology investments in their companies, consider the following alternatives to solely devoting their IT spending to PC hardware purchases.

Influencing What Your Clients Do with Budget Surpluses

Think about encouraging clients to reallocate the surplus funds for IT spending on something else technology-related that they really need.

This may be end user or administrator training, so they can get more out of their PC hardware, software and networking investments. Planned wisely, training will do wonders to improve system uptime, reduce repetitive help desk calls and boost productivity.

Offer Training to Your Clients

Whenever feasible, make sure your company provides this kind of formal or informal one-on-one training. Otherwise, you may be leaving some really easy money on the table, exposing your clients users to potentially conflicting information and opening up your primo client accounts for poaching.

Look at Their Connection Speeds

Now may be a good time for your clients to upgrade their Internet access to boost performance and dependability. How your clients finagle their IT spending is a very individualized decision.

Encourage them to think big picture and don’t be afraid to recommend that they break tradition if it makes sense for their intermediate and long-term business needs.

For quite a while now, Final Fantasy has been considered as one of the best RPG games there is and the series is living up to that with the newest version which is Final Fantasy Tactics: War of the Lions. Plus, it would be a vindication for the PSP as it has had games in the past that have the same non-realistic design, and it looks like FF Tactics is going to be an exception.

Not forgetting to mention that for this game, you’ll be able to play two new character jobs: the Onion Knight and the Dark Knight. With the Onion Knight, you will be able to add to your strength while also compromising some of your other abilities. Meanwhile the Dark Knight will enable you to strike at your enemies and take magic points from them to increase your own. The second one is the Dark Knight, which permits you to whack your opponents; but if that isn’t enough, you can always steal magic points to add up to your own and it will surely be an asset to your game.

As for the intricate plot line in Final Fantasy Tactics: War of the Lions, it has raised the experience to a whole new arena, and everything else will go smoothly. Those other jobs included in the game are quite a challenge, taking you through various levels of gameplay and a staggering 60 battle maps to complete.

Final Fantasy Tactics is any RPG fan’s fantasy come true. To add more thrill to your gaming, you’ll have more character jobs which will take you various of levels to master; but in the end, it should pay off knowing that you have 60 battle maps to explore. Aside from the two mentioned above, you’d have more character jobs available in FF Tactics.

And if you have played previous games from the series before, you might recognize some of the characters that will be appearing in War of the Lions. You might recognize some of the characters in this game as some of them are returning for War of the Lions, such as Balthier from Final Fantasy XII and Luso from FF Tactics A2: The Sealed Grimoire.

The latest off of the Final Fantasy series takes RPG gaming beyond anything fans have expected from the popular classic. And although there were few who were saddened by the fact that this game is more of an expansion rather than a remake in itself, that is not entirely considered a flaw. This makes things even more interesting as it has taken its leap from the basic premises of the game and infusing more flavor to it. If it’s from Final Fantasy, you can be sure that it won’t disappoint!

When it comes to the technical aspect of the game, role-playing has never been this exciting. And though you might experience longer loading times at some points in the game, it’s not something to bother you at all. Meanwhile, the two-dimensional characters are sweet reminders of what there is to love about this game, and everything has just gotten better as the game turns portable. Plus, the action sequence and level of intensity just would not let up since the moment you draw that sword!

Also as a bonus feature, you can view mini-clips of important events during the game, making it possible for you to view when and how it all happened. The mini-clips were amazing, and because it was done by Akihiko Yoshida leaves nothing more to be said.

Because you can view some of the important events in this game – like the kidnapping of the princess, the memory of Ramza, Delita’s reed whistle and destructive explosion of Fprt Zeakenden – you have the luxury of setting them up however you want to play it, so that the actual game can be even more exciting. And because this game is too exciting to be played alone, now you get to share some gaming time with your friend. So you can tag your friends along to join you in your battle, or compete against them to see which one will prevail in the Final Fantasy world!

While routers accept and generate broadcasts, they do not forward them. This can be quite a problem when a broadcast needs to get to a device such as a DHCP or TFTP server that’s on one side of a router with other subnets on the other side.

If a PC attempts to locate a DNS server with a broadcast, the broadcast will be stopped by the router and will never get to the DNS server. By configuring the ip helper-address command on the router, UDP broadcasts such as this will be translated into a unicast by the router, making the communication possible. The command should be configured on the interface that will be receiving the broadcasts.

R1(config)#int e0

R1(config-if)#ip helper-address ?

A.B.C.D IP destination address

R1(config-if)#ip helper-address 100.1.1.2

Now, you may be wondering if this command covers all UDP services. Sorry, you’re not getting off that easy! The command does forward eight common UDP service broadcasts, though.

TIME, port 37

TACACS, port 49

DNS, port 53

BOOTP/DHCP Server, port 67

BOOTP/DHCP Client, port 68

TFTP, port 69

NetBIOS name service, port 137

NetBIOS datagram service, port 138

That’s going to cover most scenarios where the ip helper-address command will be useful, but what about those situations where the broadcast you need forwarded is not on this list? You can use the ip forward-protocol command to add any UDP port number to the list.

Additionally, to remove protocols from the default list, use the no ip forward-protocol command. In the following example, we’ll add the Network Time Protocol port to the forwarding list while removing the NetBIOS ports. Remember, you can use IOS Help to get a list of commonly filtered ports!

R1(config)#ip forward-protocol udp ?

Port number

biff Biff (mail notification, comsat, 512)

bootpc Bootstrap Protocol (BOOTP) client (68)

bootps Bootstrap Protocol (BOOTP) server (67)

discard Discard (9)

dnsix DNSIX security protocol auditing (195)

domain Domain Name Service (DNS, 53)

echo Echo (7)

isakmp Internet Security Association and Key Management Protocol (500)

mobile-ip Mobile IP registration (434)

nameserver IEN116 name service (obsolete, 42)

netbios-dgm NetBios datagram service (138)

netbios-ns NetBios name service (137)

netbios-ss NetBios session service (139)

ntp Network Time Protocol (123)

pim-auto-rp PIM Auto-RP (496)

rip Routing Information Protocol (router, in.routed, 520)

snmp Simple Network Management Protocol (161)

snmptrap SNMP Traps (162)

sunrpc Sun Remote Procedure Call (111)

syslog System Logger (514)

tacacs TAC Access Control System (49)

talk Talk (517)

tftp Trivial File Transfer Protocol (69)

time Time (37)

who Who service (rwho, 513)

xdmcp X Display Manager Control Protocol (177)

R1(config)#ip forward-protocol udp 123

R1(config)#no ip forward-protocol udp 137

R1(config)#no ip forward-protocol udp 138
As you can see, the ip helper-address command helps work around the fact that broadcasts aren’t forwarded by routers by default, and if you just need to send one or two broadcast types, the other types can be turned off easily.

Before holding an online web meeting, you must be aware of the following:

1. Your online web meeting should be short and on track. The duration of the event should be no longer then one hour or maximum of one hour and thirty minutes.

2. What type of questions will you ask those attending the web meeting? Asking questions keeps everyone’s attention and allows you to effectively teach your guests.

3. As a courtesy to others in attendance, ask guests to hold their questions until the end of the meeting. Chances are that you will answer most questions during your presentation. Asking guests to hold their questions will reduce the overall meeting time for everyone.

4. Advise guests to preinstall the web meeting plugin before the live meeting. If guests will be speaking during a meeting, advise them to use the integrated audio setup and testing feature before the live meeting. Guests can perform this audio setup and test without logging in.

5. Prepare an optimized version of your PowerPoint® that is less than 2 MB. This will allow guests to see the presentation quickly and easily.

6. Always have a recording of your presentation available before a live meeting. Recorded presentations can be enjoyed by those unable to attend the live meeting. In the event a guest has a problem with their computer or internet connection, they can still enjoy the presentation. You may have invested thousands of dollars to promote your web meetings, and you lose time and money when someone can not attend the live meeting or has some problem that is beyond your control.

7. Practice your entire live presentation using the web meeting room program a minimum of 5 to 7 times from start to finish. This is the most important thing you need to know before holding an online web meeting.

8. Make sure the online web meeting service you are using offers free live training.

9. When it comes to web meetings, choosing the right service that meets your needs can be a daunting task. Make sure the program you choose meets the following important criteria:
• Login is fast and easy.
• Those with a dial-up connection can participate without problems.
• Web meeting program works with corporate firewalls.
• No Active-X control is required to run the program.
• You can easily create and manage live meeting polls and surveys.
• You can create and host your own custom registration pages.
• No scheduling is required, you can hold meetings anytime you decide.
• You can use any payment gateway to sell access to your meetings.
• The PowerPoint® presenter displays slides in dual format.
• Live video conferencing offers synchronized audio and video.
• Your guests can enjoy hands free meetings, you control everything they see.
• You can record and control your recorded presentations.

The most beneficial time to shop for the best cell phone plans is during the Christmas season. The specials are wonderful this time of year and you can find a great deal that will save you money for years to come. Also, the improve during the Christmas season are amazing. If you are planning to search for the best cell phone plans in your area, try shopping around the holidays.

I discovered the benefits of adopting a cell phone plan during the holiday season by accident. My husband bought a phone as my Christmas gift four years ago and we are happy that he did. He managed to nab one of the best cell phone plans I have ever encountered and there is no way we are changing one thing.

Our monthly payment never changes. The standard rate covers everything, including calls out of state as well. Of course, I can’t call coast to coast without a charge but my calling area covers several states in the north eastern part of the United States which is really more than I need.

The best cell phone plans will offer a standard monthly rate for services. This monthly rate should cover all minutes. I could not imagine having to worry about the number of minutes I use each month and I really could not imagine having to consider the best times to place phone calls.

Many offers have peak hours that really rack up the cost of your phone service. These offers try to balance the high costs with special rates during certain times of the day. This is not attractive to me at all. I have enough trouble setting up my time and organizing my day.

Having to schedule phone calls as well would put me in a tailspin. The best cell phone plans don’t make customers schedule their calls or wait for the most opportune time to contact friends and family. You should be able to make calls around the clock without worrying about the rates.

Finally, there are the person to person offers that allow callers to contact people within a certain circle. Not everyone has the same plan and in the same vein as scheduling phone calls, I also don’t want to organize my friends, family and associates by their calling plans. The best cell phone plans will allow you more freedom than that.

During the next holiday season, consider shopping for a new offer from your phone company. You may find that the best cell phone plans make the best presents as well.

CRM is the accepted purpose of Customer Relationship Management is to enable organizations to better manage their customers through the introduction of reliable processes and procedures for interacting with those customers.

In today’s competitive business environment, a successful CRM software solution cannot be implemented by only installing and integrating CRM software application designed to support CRM processes. A holistic approach to CRM is vital for an effective and efficient CRM policy. This approach includes training of employees, a modification of business processes based on customers’ needs and an adoption of a relevant IT CRM system (including software and maybe hardware) and/or usage of IT CRM Services that enable the organization or company to follow its CRM strategy. CRM Services can even replace the acquisition of additional hardware or CRM software application licences.

The term CRM “Customer Relationship Management” is used to describe either the “CRM software” or the whole business strategy (or lack of one) oriented on customer needs. The second one is the description which is correct. The main misconception of CRM is that it is only a software solution application, instead of whole business strategy.

Major areas of CRM Software System Solutions focus on service automated processes, personal information gathering and processing, and self-service. It attempts to integrate and automate the various customer serving processes within a company.

A CRM software solution application can manage and run your entire business. From prospect and client contact tools to billing history and bulk email management. The software CRM Sosystem allows you to maintain all customer records in one centralized location that is accessible to your entire organization through password administration. A front office CRM software system is set up to collect data from the customers for processing into the data warehouse. The data warehouse is a back office CRM Software system used to fulfill and support customer orders. All customer information is stored in the data warehouse. A back office CRM software application makes it possible for a company to follow sales, orders, and cancellations. Special regressions of this data can be very beneficial for the marketing division of a firm

A integrated CRM software system is often also known as “front office solutions.” This is because they deal directly with the customer.

If you sell to government, non-profit or educational accounts, your firm may be accustomed to managing this next challenge. But, if sales to small businesses are your bread and butter, you may not as tuned into the “use it or lose it” purchasing philosophy in IT spending.

For example, if you’re the science department chairperson for a local school district, and you have a $500,000 budget this year for computer products, you “need” to spend it.

IT Spending: Use It or Lose It

If you don’t spend the money, any funds left over will not carry forward to next year. And, the board of education probably will believe your department no longer needs the full annual $500,000 budget for computer products. Your department’s allocation likely will be reduced going forward.

So there’s a year-end rush to deplete the technology budget account; regardless of whether the timing is right for getting the best purchase value or controlling computer support costs.

Small Businesses Often Fall Into The Same IT Spending Trip

Just because a client is having a “great” year, quarter or month, your client shouldn’t rush out to buy every PC gadget and gizmo he or she has ever dreamed of having or heard someone gushing about.

As your clients’ virtual CIO, when appropriate, you need to act as their IT “grown-up” (be a little more sensitive in how you assume this role though) and remind them of the priorities spelled out in their annual technology plan.

Make Sure Your Clients’ Plan Includes IT Spending

You have a written IT project plan for your clients, right? If not, a detailed project plan not only keeps your clients’ IT spending priorities straight, a project plan assures your company a steady stream of recurring consulting revenue throughout the year.

There are instances in World of Warcraft, especially for those on PvP servers when you simply need to run away. If you are encountered by an opponent that you simply cannot beat, run away. Your only other option is to stand by and be killed.

Some people choose to simply wait and accept their fate, but this might even draw on more attacks from those that find your cowardice amusing. You are given the ultimate choice as to whether your situation is best served by running or fighting, but always be aware that a more powerful opponent will not necessarily go easier on you.

If you have no choice but to fight, you might as well use the techniques you innately have to land what little damage you can. Use your surprise attacks or run away and then return in a flash and surprise an enemy. Landing some small amount of damage will at least gain you some respect if running away is absolutely not possible in your situation.

When you make the decision to start a character on a PvP server, there are a few different aspects to the way things work for you to consider. First off, every zone in the game is now fractioned off. If you happen to wander into a contested zone where the opposing faction has any forces, you can quickly and ceremoniously be killed. In red zones, your enemies can attack you but you cannot attack them until they attack you. In the green zones, you are given initiative.

It does not always mean, just because a player is of a higher level than you, that you cannot defeat them. In some instances, your class might be a good match against theirs. Killing high level players is infinitely easier than high level monsters for this very reason. If a low level player has high damage inflicting attacks and numerous drain and bleed attacks, they could probably kill another player of a significantly higher level.

The lower level PvP zones are often full of attacks, if only because players are just getting acclimated to PvP and are interested in seeing what they can do. In the higher level regions however, players hold back their killing for when it really matters, not wanting to risk being killed. If you decide to run, it’s a lot of work and possibly quite dangerous to chase after, so most enemies will just leave you be.

Different classes and races do differently against each other. By learning the differences between a mage and a rogue or any other class, you will know more readily when you encounter an enemy whether or not they are someone you can fight and possibly defeat. Similarly, some races have certain abilities that fare well against other races.

Running Away

If you do decide to run though, there are some tricks to getting away that you should keep handy to make your escape a little easier. First off, keep certain items on hand for fleeing. Potions of swiftness are especially useful for these situations, cranking up your speed for a few seconds. There are items as well, such as the Nifty Stopwatch that will perform the same buffs and increase your speed.

The world is full of random objects. Use some of them to hide. Find a good tree or a mountain or a cliff side and dive for it. If you can get out of site, you might be able to elude your hunter for long enough to get away.

Be unexpected and run in strange patterns. Never run in a straight line because they can just follow you at the same or faster speed. Zigzag, jump, find rocks, and get away in the most creative fashion possible.

BCMSN exam success and earning your CCNP certification requires you to add to your knowledge of VLAN configuration. When you studied for your CCNA exam, you learned how to place ports into a VLAN and what the purpose of VLANs was, but you may not be aware that there are two types of VLAN membership. To pass the BCMSN exam, you must know the details of both types.

In this tutorial, we’ll take a look at the VLAN type you are most familiar with, the “static VLAN”. As you know, VLANs are a great way to create smaller broadcast domains in your network. Host devices connected to a port belonging to one VLAN will receive broadcasts and multicasts only if they were originated by another host in that same VLAN. The drawback is that without the help of a Layer 3 switch or a router, inter-VLAN communication cannot occur.

The actual configuration of a static VLAN is simple enough. In this example, by placing switch ports 0/1 and 0/2 into VLAN 12, the only broadcasts and multicasts hosts connected to those ports will receive are the ones transmitted by ports in VLAN 12.

SW1(config)#int fast 0/1

SW1(config-if)#switchport mode access

SW1(config-if)#switchport access vlan 12

% Access VLAN does not exist. Creating vlan 12

SW1(config-if)#int fast 0/2

SW1(config-if)#switchport mode access

SW1(config-if)#switchport access vlan 12

One of the many things I love about Cisco switches and routers is that if you have forgotten to do something, the Cisco device is generally going to remind you or in this case actually do it for you. I placed port 0/1 into a VLAN that did not yet exist, so the switch created it for me!

There are two commands needed to place a port into a VLAN. By default, these ports are running in dynamic desirable trunking mode, meaning that the port is actively attempting to form a trunk with a remote switch in order to send traffic between the two switches. The problem is that a trunk port belongs to all VLANs by default, and we want to put this port into a single VLAN only. To do so, we run the switchport mode access command to make the port an access port, and access ports belong to one and only one VLAN. After doing that, we placed the port into VLAN 12 with the switchport access vlan 12 command. Running the switchport mode access command effectively turns trunking off on that port.

The hosts are unaware of VLANs; they simply assume the VLAN membership of the port they’re connected to. But that’s not quite the case with dynamic VLANs, which we’ll examine in the next part of this BCMSN tutorial.

So, Here is my Step-By-Step guide to configuring a Wi-Fi network with BSNL DataOne. Though many wireless routers claim that it is a no-brainer setup to configure the wireless network, I found it to be not as easy as it looks to be. For example, NetGear comes with a wizard that never works with BSNL broadband connected via HUAWEI SmartAX 880. For those of you desperate to take your BSNL DataOne broadband wireless, follow these steps. It took me more than 2 days to figure and come out with these configuration details.

Before I start, let me share what I have:

1)BSNL DataOne 256Kbps connection.
2)HUAWEI SmartAX MT880 (The modem supplied by BSNL).
3) (configuring netgear dg632 for BSNL)NetGear WGR614v5

There are 2 steps to configuring your wireless network. First, you have to change the default settings of the SmartAX MT880 modem and configure it to enable PPPoE (PPP over Ethernet). Second, you have to configure the NetGear Router to talk to the modem.

Keep your modem, wireless router and your username and password from BSNL handy before you proceed to the next step.

If you want to change your existing configuration, take a backup of your configuration. This guide is to build your network from the ground-up.

1)Configuring and testing your Broadband connection
·Setup the modem as per the instructions mentioned in the manual. Ensure that the RJ11 (thin) cable from the splitter is connected to the ADSL port and the RJ45 cable connects your machine to the Ethernet port of the modem.

·Change the IP properties of your Ethernet card to the following:
192.168.1.2
255.255.255.0
192.168.1.1

·Open the browser and type http://192.168.1.1 to go to the HUAWEI configuration tool.

·Enter ?admin? as username and ?admin? as password

·Expand the Home node and select the WAN Setting

·Under this web page, configure the following:
PVC Number ? PVC 0
Wan Type ? PPP
Connection Type ? PPPoE
VPI/VCI ? 0 / 35
Default Route – Enabled
User Name ?
Password ?
Use DNS ? Enabled
Max Idle Time ? Always On

·Click on Apply and allow the modem to restart.

·Close the browser window

·Open the browser and type http://192.168.1.1

·Enter ?admin? as username and ?admin? as password

·You should see the Summary page. The Status is normally Red indicating that the connection is not ON.

·Click on the Plug icon in the Note column to connect.

·After the Connecting message, you should see the summary page again with the Status turning Green. Notice the IP Address and the Gateway Address.

·Expand Tools node and click on Misc.

·Type www.msn.com and click on Ping

·You should see Ping Result: Successful

·Click on the Lan Settings link under the Advanced node.

·Configure the following:
IP Address ? 192.168.1.90
Subnet Mask ? 255.255.255.0(/24)
Local Domain Name ? Blank

·Click on Apply and allow the modem to restart

·Open the Network properties of your Ethernet card and change the IP properties to the following

IP Address ? 192.168.1.2
Subnet Mask ? 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway ? 192.168.1.90
Preferred DNS server ? 61.1.96.69 (BSNL DNS Server IP)
Alternate DNS server ? 61.1.96.71 (BSNL DNS Server IP)

·Open your browser and type your favorite URL. You should be online by this time!

2)Configuring the Wireless Router and enabling the WPA security
·Connect the network cable from the NetGear wireless router to the machine.

·Open the IP Properties of your Network card and Enable DHCP. Select the following on the IP properites dialog.
Obtain IP Address Automatically
Obtain DNS Server Address Automatically

·Open the browser and type http://192.168.1.1/basicsetting.htm

·Enter ?admin? as username and ?password? as the password

·Click on Wireless Settings link on the navigation pane and configure with the following values

Wireless Network
Name (SSID) -
Region ? Asia
Channel ? 11
Mode ? g and b
Security Options
WEP (Wired Equivalent Privacy)
Security Encryption (WEP)
Authentication Type ? Automatic
Encryption Strength ? 64bit
Security Encryption (WEP) Key
Passphrase -
·Click on Generate

·Record the value of Key1 ? This is required when you log on to your Wi-Fi network the first time.

·Click on Apply and wait till the router reboots
(Wireless will not be enabled till you complete the next step)

·Click on the Basic Settings link on the left side navigation pane and configure the following

Does your Internet connection require a login? ? No
Account Name ? blank
Domain Name ? blank
Internet IP Address
Use Static IP Address
IP Address ? 192.168.1.91
IP Subnet Mask ? 255.255.255.0
Gateway IP Address ? 192.168.1.90
Domain Name Server (DNS) Address
Use These DNS Servers
Primary DNS ? 61.1.96.69
Secondary DNS ? 61.1.96.71
Router MAC Address
Use Default Address
·Click on Apply and wait till the router restarts

·Connect the Network Cable coming from the ADSL Modem to the Wireless Router

Few things to remember ?
·Don?t connect the ADSL Lan Cable to the Internet Uplink port of the Wireless Router. It never worked for me. Always connect it to one of the 4 ports excluding the designated Internet port.

·IP Addresses can be anything of your choice. But it is a good idea to follow the 192.168.x.x convention

·If you get lost any time, feel free to reset the configuration by poking a pin into the reset slot on the modem and the router.

·Don?t compromise on the security. Always enable WPA and save your key. Don?t let your friendly neighbors ride on your network!

Have a happy Wi-Fi surfing and drop a comment in case you want more inputs.
