It is better to keep silent than to be the target of inane accusations. Like in the office, you are in the group of gossipingly ganging up one of your colleague although you don’t participate neither you have balls to remind everybody the injustice it brought to your officemate because you just simply don’t want to be the subject of ridicule. Coward.

Future history’s perception to Gloria might be a good one is only a consolation because it is too late.

I will make that history now. I will not join the wagon of crab pulling down the President. If that is the trend, neither I follow because sometimes I don’t go with the flow especially if it is not of any worth.

Because she deserves her credits which are due now and there is no need to wait for the history to retell it. Sometimes history is crap when the present is defecated.

The President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo’s leadership is might not be that perfect to get the country go on but surely she is better than her three predecessors since 1986.

I compared Gloria to the first three Presidents before her because that is the only time I have the first hand information not relying from the history. What was going on during the leadership since 1986 to now is, I can tell fairly and square.

I did not expect on 1986 that the Philippines will be among the developed nations considering what it had been through before that but I expected a better one from what it had become thereupon after six years especially if the President had the liberty to totally change the constitution and no one opposed.
For architect, it is much easier to design for a new house than to revise an old design, or a lot easier to demolish the house and construct a new one than to carry out a major renovation.
That was the scenario on 1986, I may agree that the country then was like a wrecked of a demolished structure but without oppositions the new constitution of the nation was enacted. Meaning a new layout of the nation was laid on the table only prompt execution required. Only that it was not properly executed.
And I believe that this 1986 Constitution is only a Reaction Constitution to the Marcos administration, or a Transitional Constitution that only served the six years after 1986. It must be changed because we are no longer in the transitional era.

Cory Aquino as a transitional pivotal instrument was fine but to evaluate her leading of the nation was also a failure. The Philippines didn’t end up any better economically after her leadership. The only accomplishment is the “claimed” democracy from dictatorship.
I don’t know if this democracy can be “ulam” viand or can be a flavor to noodles. Imagine the Maggi, Lucky Me and Payless brands of noodles are “democracy” flavored. This way the masses will reap and taste the fruit of her over rated democracy legacy.

The 1992 Government was fine. I gave credit to President Ramos. The Philippines was less affected when the Asian crises engulf Southeast Asian countries. Note, he was also not a popular president with all the oppositions from left and right but he made the country on the track.

1998, here comes the very popular president but he blew it. He was not able to complete his term. During his time the Philippines was really in a bad shape. Estrada failed the country in a very short time.

In 2001 was the so called unpopular president came to being, embodied by Gloria Macapagal Arroyo. Perhaps she also felt her unpopularity; she turned this to perform her duty round the clock. The most vibrant, energetic and industrious President the Philippine has ever had.

When she assumed the office, the tourism industry then was down. Instead of using the government allotted fund in all legality (likely to be criticized by the leftists) to resuscitate the dying business by advertising in international televisions like the neighboring countries has long been doing, she went around the country and visited those tourist destinations and turned it out as free media coverage.

She executed many laws which are not popular to many, but she felt the country needs it knowing that these will make her more unpopular to the people. But she is a true leader as she really is, like a mother would make hard decisions may not in accord with the children but has to be done because it is for their own good. A mother won’t let her child to play in the middle of the street even with all the crying because she foresees the possible consequences.
Gloria showed it that a vision and will is always above to what is popular.
You would hardly see that to the past Philippine Presidents that were called “popular”.

Usually the masses would rate the President as good and popular one if they see physical changes and accomplishments through projects. Ordinary man would say “what good he/she as President, no roads and bridges built in our town”. But Gloria did, she built many airports, bridges and highways around the country even more than that the combined projects of her predecessors. Palawan alone, which is now the top tourist investment destination in the country has now three airports.
The masses seem oblivious about these physical accomplishments of the government because the media would rather highly publicize the nonsense controversies.

In nine years of Gloria’s presidency, there is a job generation of well over 800,000 annually while the past Presidents managed to attain less than 400,000 jobs every year. Who performed well to when it comes to empowering the citizen?

When the world crises were crippling every economy, developed nations kowtow to the situations. Gloria’s management made the Philippine economy resilient to this global worry. The country is the less affected as compared to other nations.

Now the present administration is handing down the country to the next President in good shape with a GDP of 7.3%.

The bad thing Gloria’s leadership did that I can say; her government did not fight back to the media enough in its very successful feat of undermining the government image and the media’s wickedness of clouding the government’s perception to the public. Her government was not very strong to discipline the media to make a damage control. Media was the one blocking the rights of the public to information about the government’s accomplishments. Such a big irony when it is the one clamoring for the right to information. When the government announces its success backed with all the data the biased media would right away bash without supporting facts.

The media delivers with judgment.
It reports the “street killing” who involves innocent people without partiality. Good job. They made their job accordingly.
But when it reports about the “media killing”, it always ends up with line “during Arroyo’s administration”. Apparently it is blame to the government. Why? Big why.

For others information, some media men has gone out of their line especially those commentators, they would run their smoking mouth without bases. Somehow partly they are responsible of their death.
But what about those very innocent walkers down the street that was just ripped off of their lives. An OFW who just happened to enjoy wearing his blood invested gold necklace and doing nothing only to be gunned down.
The comparison here is; the media men somehow irritated somebody by his out of line blabbing but the innocent walker didn’t do anything harm to anyone.
Now you put the blame of media killing to the President.

The negative perception of the public towards the country is majority to be blamed on the media of its irresponsible reporting and partly to blame the government for not doing enough to reverse the mess the media has done.

Common attributes to the Presidents.

Ferdinand Marcos, Cory Aquino and Joseph Estrada were all popular Presidents. But they did not put the Philippines to higher and better level.

Fidel Ramos and Gloria Arroyo both not popular to the public but they did a good job. They made the country economically stable in the middle of economic woes. They have more challenges during their tenure but they shrugged it off.

Maybe Marcos, Aquino and Estrada became so complacent to their duty because they were riding on their popularity thinking that the public will be understanding with their performance. Result no better but a bitter Philippines.

While Ramos and Arroyo felt that they have to work more in trying to win the people because of their unpopularity. Indeed, their legacy is a better country and government. You can say the true leaders in character.

A new administration is coming and he is also popular in the persona of Noynoy Aquino.
Since he is popular, will he join the league of PPOFP (Popular President, Only to Fail the Philippines)? Will he be the next disappointment President backed by popularity?

We will see.

Country Swap

What if nations would agree to swap its citizen or its country?

First Rule: Rich country to poor country
Second Rule: Any country of the same or almost the same size geographically.
Third Rule: The required time is 10 years.

Participant: The Philippines and Japan

I just don’t know if the Japanese would agree to it but I am expecting that more Filipinos than Japanese will be excited about it.

From the President/Prime Minister or leader to the citizens has to move to the opposing country by themselves only, no wealth or resources must be transferred.

This is most likely to happen after the swap in 10 years.

Philippines (with the Japanese people).

First day, they organized themselves and proclaimed a good leader.

With the Japanese expertise in management and known for being among the most disciplined, made the Philippine like Japan 10 years ago from the time of swapping.

This time the country is paved with clean and safe road and transportation system. No crisscrossing over-head cable wiring on metropolis. Blighting structures that was once an eye sore across cities is now a manifestation of ingenuities with stunning futuristic design where every inch of it is telling the goodness of technology.
No trumpeting paunchy shirtless by-standers by the sidewalk noisily (as if they own the world) flocking on the bottles of liquor in the peak of daylight.
You are very much secured to pick-up the mobile phone while walking at the very busy street because you knew very well that it won’t pop off like bubble. You won’t feel out of nowhere, that something sharp poking your side just to surrender you telephone or necklace. A feeling of staking your life over an electronic gadget is already but just sad memory. But you would see those slightly used devices are already on the garbage bin because it is of no use anymore.

Pasig river doesn’t stench anymore, it is worth a siesta or a family picnic by its side. The historical Quezon bridge (by Gustave Eiffel who designed the Eiffel Tower in Paris) in Quiapo is worth a walking because you won’t see faeces therein anymore.

Every vacant and idle piece of land is planted with edible plants.

No place in the country is out of reach.

Dealing with the government agencies is very inviting because you are being served of
what is due.

Japan (with the Filipino people).

First Day, troubling to organized among them and couldn’t get a good leader, if any there is one, his/her office is always in the pit and will not be successful because of continued dark driven opposition from many sides. Others just simply don’t care.

Still, on early part of the swapping. The Filipinos would enjoy to the limit and exhaustion the abundance Japan has to offer.

Because of the Filipinos over confident management skills (his nature of changing the available best and effective solution just to claim that it is his own creation) and oblivious to self-discipline, Japan turned to what were the Philippines 10 years ago from the time of swapping.

While the Philippines has drastically changed to something vibrant as a nation over 10 years because of the Japanese people managing it, Japan also made a dramatically disappointing change to backward direction with the Filipino way of carrying out the nation’s fate. To bad one.

All the good things in Japan 10 years ago turned to nothing.

This is the Filipino way of standing firm to the word ‘opposition’ and ‘my own’, simply turning the good to bad and the best to worst just for the sake of opposing and owning it but dodging the repercussions.

How Patriotic is the New President?

1. Choosing a ribbon over a Philippine map in his suit.
Was asked to choose from the two ‘barong tagalong’ for the day of his proclamation, one was designed with ribbon image and the other was with the image of Philippine map. He selected the ribbon design because he found it more appealing than the Philippine map, really.
What’s wrong with it, of course nothing, no big of a deal. Just that, the President would choose the ribbon symbol was something most of the Filipinos would not do. I understand that it was all of his paying a respect to his mother, after all he became the President had not because of his mother. But doing that, is he now the President of the Republic or the President of his mother.

2. Snubbing the Philippines Independence Day celebration to attend a wedding.
He said he was not invited. You are now the President, it goes without saying that by your own initiative you must had appeared in the National Day which is a celebration of your own country soon will be under your governance. Maybe you are not a President of the Republic, but the President only to your few friends. Just hard to think, that a president would desert a remembering of National Day over a wedding day of his friend.

3. He doesn’t like the Malacanang Palace (the official house of the President)
Of course he knew it; right from the very start of the campaign that whoever will win the election has to reside at the Palace.

If he doesn't want the palace, what is the use of it, we might as well demolish it.
Malacanang Palace is a symbol of country’s power, now he has resentment about it. He wants to stay while working as President at his mother’s house. Is he a President of the republic or the President of that village?

I don’t know what will happen now, with all the issues besetting the country plus the new President personal issues.

Those personal issues of him are the sign of a ping-pong ball leadership. Hard for him to face his own, what more the national’s.

This is the same scenario of the ousted Estrada administration. His principle was founded on clean and honest governance but because of weak leadership, the friends took advantage resulting to the fall.

I strongly wish I totally am wrong.

We will be in one boat under his steering for six years but we can help him to paddle in synchronize. Indeed, it was really true. They did it with flying colors.
The coming 2012 Summer Olympic to be ushered in United Kingdom (its 3rd time and with one as cancelled was the 1944 Olympic because of World War II), hoping to retell and remind the world of its power and influence that encompasses the history to present.
England is very candid from the get-go that their hosting of this huge event is not as expensive and grandeur as what China did. The English will pool the much possible financial resources only to one eight of what had spent from 2008 world China meet, or maybe even less than 5 billion dollars. Talking of power, England doesn’t have to prove anything, history says it.

What about Olympic Game somewhere in Southeast Asia, this is a part of the world with a population of half billion and yet no Olympic not even a clue in the near future.
The Philippines in particular just to be more specific of Southeast Asia. Hosting the quadrennial game is, accept the fact, all about money. Money is of a very big consideration. But how? Pork Barrel!

The Philippine Congress; the lower and the upper house are budgeted with two hundred thirteen billion seven hundred eighty million pesos (P213, 780,000,000.00) every six years for its Pork Barrel and that is 4.6 billion dollars, already the projected budget of England for the 2012 Olympic Game. The Philippine could prepare, bid or apply 20 years before the schedule, by then 17 billion dollars will be ready. Is it reasonable to spend the money for such sporting event, why not, anyway the congressmen and senators spending their pork barrel to fund commissioned construction of barangay basketball courts and have their names painted big in it. Instead of those small commissioned projects why not use the whole amount to one such big event like Olympic to build huge sports venues with futuristic and eye-catching design that will turn to a landmark forward on thus good for tourism.
Because trust me, I am sure, you would not prefer to have those pork barrel funded basketball courts and waiting sheds as the background for your photo op.

With the pork barrel I think the Philippines could undertake an event like Olympic, just that I am not so sure if the Philippines is by merit can qualify considering its sports performance in international arena. Still no gold in Olympic history, secure first the very first Olympic gold then the talk about it will be on the table. Meanwhile the Pork Barrel must be remained untouched at the coffer.

Unsolicited advice, the new President should make an executive order or the congress put this into law, that at the beginning of the new administration the fund for Pork Barrel must be directed to one bank account named “Project Olympic” and it cannot be used for other purpose. This is a very Filipino attitude, nursing a piggy bank for future but single purpose use.

One thing is sure; it is much harder to get a consensus among with the gentlemen and ladies at the Senate and House of Representatives to let go of their pork barrel than to host an Olympic game in the Philippines.

A Puffing Noy

For Noynoy Aquino to say that smoking is the last of his remaining freedom, so he should be spared from those who are pestering him telling that he should wean from it, is not really of him being an statesman. Bop bop on your head! You are now a president!

Supporting his statement like an stubborn child (as an indicative that he won’t stop within the six years to come) that he has to keep smoking specially now that he is a president because it entails a lot of pressure. Well, all Filipinos including him are aware that the job of a president is a no joke or maybe we are taking it literally as a joke, really, because by joke you can run for president and by another joke you can vote the candidate for the highest post. What a joke! Joke, joke joke! We are now a land of jokes. We should change our citizenship; Filipino to Joker. When someone asks your nationality, you say Joker. Funny, I am a Joker.

So our president is a smoker, what is the big deal. Here is the deal. If you are a president of a company, you can still get things done even if you come to office riding on a horse puffing a Marlboro and still appear to everyone as you being cool. But if you are the president of a nation, you will not go a distance to tour the palace while riding on a wooden horse because your heart won’t permit it because of smoking.

Of course it is a tremendous pressure up there if you were to execute national decisions if to talk the President’s trepidation but that would not be enough as an excuse. Many chain smoker Filipinos who are working in Saudi Arabia turned cold turkey despite of the pressure of works and culture shock adjustment. Perhaps if Noynoy find it so hard to halt his smoking, he can work first at Saudi Arabia as one of the OFWs before he serves the leadership. No doubt after a contract of two years he would hate the tobacco.

Noynoy Aquino has been telling everybody that he is such an obedient son to his mother but not in smoking. He defies his mother. If no one successfully convinced him to refrain from smoking, not even his mother whom he only followed, during his highschool, college, congress and senate days what more now that he is now the most powerful human in the land. Like “eat your heart out” even a hundred people power revolution won’t change my mind.

I don’t care if my neighbor could smoke a number of packs of cigarette daily but I don’t expect the same to my president. It is like you expect your family to love you but you don’t give a crap if the family next door hate you. This is all a matter of expectation; it varies from the ordinary citizen to the leader of the land.

Good luck to the Department of Health. It is a big challenge to reinforce the advocacies against smoking if the President of the land is an example of “Mr. I can’t follow now”. This government agency will not have enough credibility to tell the citizenry about avoiding the tobacco if the president himself is an avid patron of it.

Overseas Absentee Voting is a Crap

Overseas Filipino Workers doesn’t need this “voting” that they are peddling as a privilege or service being proffered by the government.

The recent turn-out of the overseas absentee voting is definitely a waste of time and money or in other word totally a crap. In every 10 Filipinos who currently are working abroad only one participated in the overseas absentee voting. Many reasons can be enumerated; lazy and irresponsible Filipino, precinct centers are not very accessible or it is worth a fortune to pay the fare just to get to the voting stations, day-off from work is not enough, information dissemination is very weak because many remains oblivious about it and still a lot of alibi and reasons to be written, but these are all irrelevant. Because from the very first moment they sat foot on their country of destination they put aside the politics including the so called ‘right to suffrage’, this is not of an important matter anymore.

The government is just wasting a huge amount of money only to accommodate this overseas absentee voting which has no sense of practicality at all. It is annoying that the Filipino workers abroad are being convinced that taking part in election by choosing a leader is a service that has to be grabbed.

To the very few Filipinos who are clamoring to accommodate them in voting, you should stop because your thumb mark is of a very little value compared to the money required to accomplish this enormous undertaking, the money which would have been useful to send those Filipinos (who are stranded in very difficult situation) back in the Philippines.

Anyway, the number of the entire overseas workers is not a command vote to elect a president. There will be always a president after the election even not counting the votes of the Filipinos overseas.

I don’t want this privilege right at this time and place, I will be more happy if the people in the embassy is smiling ear to ear with good morning to assist you. Their being friendly and warm is more important than the service being bragged to your face called “vote”.

Mother’s Son (Anak Ka Ng Nanay Mo)

Noynoy Aquino said that proposing a parallel manual count for the coming election is a “motherhood statement” but many are disagreeing because it rather complicates things. Perhaps he is taking it graphically and literally. When he said “motherhood” he means “mother” because since this electioneering started he’s been banking on his mother. Because of his mother the media has been inundated with his name. He was pushed and decided to run for president because of his mother. He went to the same church where his mother gone, to ask for guidance. In his party convention to officially declare his presidency, it was the same place (Club Filipino) where his mother sworn to office as president.

He is such a lucky son and it is perfectly alright to be proud of your mother, but being proud of your mother doesn’t mean you can run for president.

“I would rather prefer the Philippines to be run by a bastard president with a strong will and vision than a president who got love so much from the parents but such a weakling”.

Watch out for this, come 9th of May is Mothers Day, Noynoy will be busy more than ever to show the love for his mother in front of camera, another opportunity to lure those emotionals, means additional votes.

Backward Thinking

The Filipinos and government has been enduring dreaming to computerize the election for many years while other countries has long been practicing a computer aided election, finally now it is made available for the citizen and only to be put down the drain because organization like the Makati Bussiness Club and some group forming just to be group and some president wannabes so crass to say in few days of actual voting that they wanted a parallel manual count. But don’t you dare announce to the world that it is just and befitting that you have the monopoly of it and the rest are all evil.

You were born from a good parent but not necessary you are. “Good Heart” is not something can be bequeathed; it is all but a choice in every minute of your life. It is not something of a magical marque that can be embedded in your chest and voila made you an innate kind human.

Neither will make you a good hearted by stoning on someone that you think for you is immoral, because you are worst, you are just disguising in words of condemnation.

“Hear ye, hear ye, hear ye! I am a man of good heart, make me your President!”
Fine, you have a good heart (lets stop talking, although that is still ends in question mark) but can you lead us. Mothers have also a good heart, they are the one who can presents credentials of having a good heart, then why don’t we just make them our leaders if that is the case. A country being lead by mothers, I think that is more acceptable.

Leadership is not all about “good heart”, the parents especially the mothers could attest to that. There are juvenile delinquent because not for the reason that their parents doesn’t have a heart but rather full of heart. Sometimes judgment and vision of the olds is clouded by so much love only seeing of what is now enough to compromise the welfare of the children in the days to come. Many times the mothers would decide for their youngs base on “good heart" only to realized at the end that it was wrong, but this is all the making of motherhood or parenting, lapses are expected because this is all about crossing the bridge when you get there.

But to become a President of a nation just because you have a good heart, are you kidding me?
When you put the entire nation to the brink because of your decisions, will you just say “ I need your understanding my people because it was all out of love, I made that from my good heart, so please bear with me” and you expect the citizen just to understand you, who are you kidding again?

Good heart is in everybody, it may just change at the given time and it can be found to anybody but the “Vision” and will is hard to find. However “Gibo” has it. The Filipinos deserve someone like him.

That is the reason why I am recommending "Gibo" for President

2010 Class President vs. Nation’s President

Choosing a class President is totally the opposite of selecting a President who will lead the nation.

In a classroom no matter how popular you are, either you are a cheerleader champion in every year thus all the boys got a crush on you but still nobody would nominate you to become the class president, maybe being a class MUSE. You cannot expect either to be nominated even if you got all the trophies from championing all the sports competitions enough to get all the eyes of the girls, not a single girl would raise her hand to nominate you to lead the class but surely she would, you as class ESCORT. You are confident to stand up and nominate yourself for the highest position in the classroom because you are banking as the pet of your teacher, pull down your hope because your classmates would not clearly vote for you, they would rather to make you as the class P.R.O, know why, for future dealing with you other subjects’ teachers you are in the forefront especially if the teacher is class enemy number one.
Common scenario even if you are as quiet as the desk in the corner of the classroom, you don’t like talking to others, always silent like you are the specter of mute and deaf but during class participation you are a raging bull who puts everybody in the ground whoever comes in the way or to say shortly you excel in many subjects although you don’t want to become their president, you will become due to the high insistent of classmates demand. No worry, your Vice President is the one who is also nominated to the same position, just lost because he is not just as good as you but then again he is almost equally as good as you, only the “almost” is the deciding factor as the thin line that’s why you are now a class president. Easing the responsibility entrusted on you, you are aware that the line-up of the officers down to you is also on the same league.
The result is, the “pupils” in grades school could came-up with a competent and honest set of officers.

Bigger than the classroom is a country. The principle of choosing a President for both could just be the same. But it is not!

If your parents become popular because of some death incidents and this hype drag your name as an only son; you can run for President.

Because the media projecting your dead parents as heroes and heroes posses a good heart and good heart is hereditary (you and they claim); you decided to run for President.

Others drooling to get the power but they are not popular and your name is smoking hot in televisions; they pushed you; you run for President.

Assassinate characters, don’t really know your own plan but you can make bad stories for others, and claim that you have a monopoly of having a good heart (I think you are fit for a title Mr. Valentine) and the rest is evil; you run for President.

You are a Robin Hood in many movies as part of your job as an actor, promising you can materialize the drama of the poor in the reel to real; you can be President.

When you are a leader of a religious group with millions of members and think can eradicate the corruption in one week once elected; you run for President.

Since television is the leveling field of popularity and you can afford to pay an airtime in huge amount of money; you run for President.

You can knock someone down in the canvass; you punch at a ridiculous speed and also you say “I have good intentions”; you can run for President.

Since the nation electorate system could not define very well who can and cannot run for President; there you are, after buying a bottle of vinegar from a convenient store because you are a complete nonsense instead of going home directly to give that vinegar to your mother you stop by at the Commission on Election and file for Presidency; here you are, running for President.

The result is, while the school graders have an ideal set of class officers the nation is suffering from buffoons President to down the line.

School graders who are just at the age of 10 or below, no influence, could select a class President very wisely.
18 year old up to the so called matured couldn’t vote wisely for President. They leave it all up to the televisions to decide. If so, why can’t we just have a Television President? Imagine every gathering of the United Nations or a world leader summit the Philippines will be represented by a set of television. Funny, Mr. Obama will be talking to a television (I know he love telepromter). Wonder, if the world leaders would listen to a television set. This way, Philippine is setting a trend. I don’t know, not so sure.

Everybody had gone through a classroom therefore everybody must know the foundation in choosing a leader.

Religious Leaders Feeling V.I.P

During election what are they thinking; a beacon of light in the middle of roaring waves of political stormy seas or a star in the north that would cast a ray of light to guide the confused voters and the deceitful candidates? Such a weakling executor will be very vulnerable from the left and right detractors, as he is a ping-pong ball that will not go any distance with his own decisions and would not live up to (because he is not capable of turning them to something tangible) his promises will be the cause for those emotional to pull up their senses.
The time (within 3 months after his oath) when these emotional Filipinos who catapulted him to the presidency finally awaken and realized that they are just living in dreams but awaken only to step up to another level of emotion, much higher from the feelings they stayed before the election. From here a blast of emotion will manifest in the street, an unprecedented movement against the government that had never happened in the history will come to being. Chaos will dominate the community; everybody is unruly because their emotions are gone up high than ever.
Emotions will pull down the economy. Emotion will be the culprit to tear down to pieces the Philippines.

Philippine Economy in turmoil means strong dollar.

The consolation of this happening is for the Filipinos who work abroad, simply because their salary will be two-fold as the peso is valueless against the dollar.

I am afraid should Noynoy become president but I don’t give a darn thing (because majority now of the Filipinos is in the state of being emotional, a high of likelihood he would get it) because by that time I am more leverage financially because I am working outside the Philippines.

Maybe I will be grateful from those emotionals.

Filipino Wishes

1. Orderly in the Street/Sidewalk
Down the busy sidewalk, I got a call, a cellular is vibrating in my pant’s pocket but I don’t want to be killed (that’s why the phone is set on vibrating mode) but I have to answer it, my two legs dragged me to 7-11 convenience store and quickly get the phone in time that the vibration stop, now I missed a call. When can I talk on the cellphone while walking down the street.
My backpack, it is called backpack because it supposed to be on the back but for extra precautionary measure it is now a “frontpack”. This is very common in the streets of Manila, you see people carrying their bags in their front no matter how heavy it is even it pulling them down to the ground.
You want to look good that is why you put on those simple gold necklace and earrings if you want to be imprisoned in your bedroom. Thinking of walking down the sidewalk forget those jewelries.
There is only one kind of passerby at the sidewalk but all paranoid walker, one is paranoid being attacked and the other one is paranoid in the look out to attack.

2. A Real Sidewalk
Don’t we deserve to walk on a real and nice sidewalk, one which is really conducive for walking? Always in the sidewalk it is like a maze or playing “patintero” because so many things to be dodge off; from the lethal open pit or a sudden step, the creepy bystanders and from the smoking hot noodles and rice porridge that anytime will disgorge on the passers.

3. Street Lights
Yes there are street lights but they are a lightyear set apart and worst those are not on because upon installation the switch is only good for off. It was the winning factor of the bidder to manipulate the government and got the project; the contractor bragged that if the project will be awarded to them the government will spend a very small amount of money because they will use the “switch off-no-on” lightings. The government was very overwhelmed that right away awarded the project.

4. Garbage Can
Where are the garbage cans? You are a working professional who painstakingly paying the taxes, half of the day you are out and when you are home to get some sleep only to be awaken by the annoying siren of the garbage collecting truck, you run down the stair, jumping off those billion steps with your head spinning (thinking this a happening one moment a week) pick up that plastic bag full of rubbish by the door and run to the road after for that smoke belching garbage truck and throw the garbage only to find out in shame while the truck is keeping off distance that you are only wearing an underwear in the middle of the community road and everybody is staring at you. What a shame! You’ve gone all through this because those stupid men at the truck woudn’t get off to pick up themselves the garbage. Why can’t we have garbage station in every corner so anytime of the day it can be used by the neighborhood?

5. Remove that Octopus in the Sky
Those tangling wires and cables crossing the highways, roads and houses above your head are outrageously annoying, such an eye sore. Cities in the Philippines will never be pleasant to the eye with all those wires clouding the sky.

6. On time Advisory
“Today all the classes from all levels is suspended”. What? Really? Because all of us are already in the flooded classroom all wet soaked after braving the downpour when we left home.

These are simple services the people longed for.

Mike Velarde (of El Shaddai) Gone Unguided

The leader of religious organization Mr. Mike Velarde is aiming for congress just because a woman who is in the persona of Ms. Esperanza Cabral the secretary of Department of Health is very vocal and got the balls in advocacy for condom as one of the preventive measures to curtail the proliferating HIV/AIDS problem in the Philippines.

The self proclaimed messenger of God is delivering the wrong message when he said that before he was such a lukewarm to take dip in the political arena, but this time he is very sure of himself to be one of many who pokes hole on the chair in congressional building because he was immensely shocked upon hearing a woman promoting a condom.

The question is; will he stay hands off from the politics if it was a man? If the answer is yes, the members of his organization should back off and think again because their boss is not a messenger but a machismo and has a tendency to discriminate woman.

Showing here some authentic statistical report about how condom successfully reduced the increasing of sexually transmitted diseases is not of necessary anymore because this data is everywhere available a long time ago.

The HIV/AIDS trend globally is going down and it is attributed to the use of condom, but in the Philippines is the other way around, figuratively up swinging which is the cause of worry of this woman (as Mike Velarde would call her) and should be the cause of worry of Mr. Mike Velarde and the rest of us too.

Aside from controlling diseases, condoms does serves as well for the birth control and that is the fuss of Mike Velarde of all the fusses. Why control population when it is the bread and butter of his religious organization, the more populace in the Philippines the poorer it gets, the more hungry mouths the easier to be manipulated and turned preys. What Mike Velarde does best is to pray for preys for his taking, after all some of the religious organizations now only seems credible if it has number. From this number too who many of them are still living in promises made Mr. Mike Velarde sleeping in the bed of roses.
I wonder if the Filipinos would have been living a better lives do you think El Shaddai would get the same number of members that their leader is bragging now.

Between Mr. Velarde and Ms. Cabral, I think the latter one is more guided in guiding people.
Ms. Cabral got the balls to do it than those religious leaders who literally with balls.

When I say Mike Velarde it means the religious organizations including the Catholic Church and others who promotes hypocrisy towards condom.

The Three Mockers

The Three Mockers
(The Philippine Politic Satire)

The T.V man
The Opposition guy
Wanna Be Victim

The T.V man
Who said that they are for the balance and only for the truth? Maybe if the question should had been asked a century ago of the history when the government and politics in this region was drastically changing they could have attained the 10 of 10 to describe the word.
The most stunning and outrageously overwhelming is that 10 of 10 or all of the Filipinos (from first grader to senior citizen) either can define or closely describe it, although not all of them can properly spell it the way the French would do but they can in Filipino version because it sounds almost the same only the spelling is different. Filipino dictionary just borrowed the word and spelled it in Filipino way.

This statistic illustration is not about how one man could be well-equipped with words or vocabularies but this is a manifestation of the evolution of an organization or a nation and its leadership, being a leader and being a member of a nation. How you are as a president, prime minister, king or whatever that title of leadership is and how you are as the citizen.

Before the late of 1960s this word “coup d’ etat” was totally a no-hear among the Filipinos, maybe 1 out 10 could define it and probably he/she is from the academe or a dictionary geek.

The year of 70s was the beginning of dark relationship between the citizen and the leadership in Philippine setting. The people started to think the government is not worth trusting and the government viewed that citizens need an extra control of disciplining. In this time “coup d’ etat” was introduced to the Filipinos.
Until now the Filipino public is haunted by the past enough that to trust the government again is something which is not easy to do. Shadows of the past are clouding the mind of every Filipino to understand the government’s undertaking to move on.

I will be a lot happier and be very proud if someday, someone again will come up to me and ask what is “coup d’ etat” and I can answer right away “I don’t know” as if it has been deleted in my memory.
A sign of progressiveness is evident in the Philippines if 10 of 10 of Filipinos don’t know the word “coup d’ etat”. I am so excited to experience that.

El-Ninyo ang mukha nyo - El-niño your face

Everybody in the Philippines especially the authority fully aware that there will be an unusual warming this time of year and this is tailed with many problems.

El-niño once a year, yes the Filipino accepted that, problems brought by it, yes the Filipino is already desensitized about it, but everything doesn’t stop there. It doesn’t mean I get the hang of it, I am o.k. with that.

Every time this phenomenon happens the government is always there, yes always there early on even before the occurrence to account the cost in damages, everywhere to the national TVs to the daily broadsheets headlining, telling to the Filipinos’ face the billions and billions of pesos that this draught could worth. Only telling the public to bear (as if a stranger to it) the happenings till it is over.

The equation is, the el-niño in the Philippines means a water problem, dwindling of supply, from water drinking to the agricultural irrigation becomes an issues when to think the Philippines islands is surrounded by water and half of the year before the el-nino extravaganza the nation has an oversupply of water which is another problem and complain, like enough to supply the universe, to remind the authority just a few months ago Metro Manila and the bigger area of Luzon were engulfed by water. Now we are facing this shortage of water supply, isn’t it ridiculous.

The government jokers will come up with another lame try and tested excuse “it’s a worldwide phenomenon, nothing much we can do about it”.
To the government of the Philippines, you can not act oblivious about the countries in the gulf (because you are sending most of your workers to this region), all their life, since from the get-go of the written history they have been experiencing a climate way far worst than the el-niño the Filipinos are whining now but they don’t have issues of water, supply of water may it be a drinking water or a water to make their large scale golf courses even greener has never been an issues. Whole year round the gulf countries is exposed to draught even worst than the Philippines ever experienced but they never felt the downsides of it, there are even stations offering a free drinking water which are up for grab and full the roads island with lush grasses and trees.

Send some government representatives to NAIA to conduct interviews with the “balikbayan” returnees from the middle east, they will testify.

As master of excuses you make another one “because they are rich and the Philippines is poor”, well, there is no poor enough government not to make the water available to the citizens.

I will not lay down here any solution because the government knew it already more than anyone.

The Filipino people don’t deserve to feel miserable over this water issues. Filipinos are like a destitute fishes in the middle of the ocean having a misery swimming for their lives while the people in the gulf is like a lucky fishes swimming happily in the middle of the desert indulging every bit of dust under a raging sun. Does anyone ever get it copyrighted and patented under his name?

Might one say that your way of expressing your passion of love is outdated, old school, very typical and copycat, don’t care for your heart only knows the sense of originality, nothing can be compared to the authenticity, uniqueness and peculiarity of your heart.

Don’t feel ashamed if you want to spend your valentine with your beau at the sidewalk indulging those exotic out of this world street food while gasping those smoke belched by the beaten up taxis and not worrying of the chance that might get nabbed as long as you are enjoying and making the best of the moment and sharing the laugh while biting that rubber barbecue “isaw”(chicken intestine) and the “adidas” (chicken foot). That’s making everything worth engaging.

A romantic candle lit dinner at the top floor restaurant of the 7 star hotel enjoying the panoramic view of every surrounding, with the arranged live musical exclusive just for the two of you playing the timeless favorite. What an epic night to remember.

Maybe the two of you decided to play catch me if you can at the rice fields. Surrendering your unprotected feet to the muddy paddies but every step you made is worth a crispy crazy laugh. When you get a little weary you set down on the ground only a piece of very old “banig” (mat) separating you from the dirt and shared a very modest meal; some “tuyo” (dried fish), “sunog na kanin” (burnt cooked rice) and a home made juice fresh “buko” (coconut) juice. Very country style that one will surely miss forever.

In a private room; may it be in a beach front resort you hear the waves unremittingly kiss the ever ready shore, in a hotel (whatever star that there is) that only the paintings and the occasion decorations shared the room with the two of you, in the “bahay-kubo” (nipa hut) you fill this time sharing the oneness with the simplicity of nature. Perhaps it is limited and walled space, but more than enough for just the two of you.

None conventional; in a war or in the middle of tragedy you selflessly dedicated your life for others. This is the highest form of love.

Whatever it is, others might already done it or you think it is something that you call “all you”, what matters is your heart, it defines no boundaries between original and pirated.
Happy Valentines to you.

Ridiculous Questions, Ludicrous Answers and Obnoxious Actions

Questions
1. “Is this fresh?” - on the fish market it is a running question from the costumers, of course

what do you expect the salesman to tell you, “no its not, its very stale, please have mercy on

me, please I am begging you to buy these stinky fishes”

2. “Are you going to buy now?” – at the shop you are being inquisitive and bargaining
for the price and the salesman abruptly asked you “are you buying now?”

3. “Where is he?” – all day its just the two of you been together and suddenly he
would ask “where is Simon?”, like attaching with him would make you a
foreteller.

Answers
1. “Talking to you!” – when someone on the other line and you asked “what are you doing"
and you got that answer, only if you can electronically spit a mouthful of saliva on his face or had your fist travel on the cable to his mouth.

2. “There!” (with matching pointing of lips) – down the road and you are lost, asked for a

direction and he reply that way as if you are invading his privacy or you are about

to kidnap him for a ransom.

3. “What’s good with the morning?” – for god sake if you cannot answer it just be mum
to your self, or if you’re morning is terrible don’t make others’.

Actions
1. Counting the withdrawn money from the ATM right after and right in front of the machine –

yes it is all your right because that is your very own money but maybe you are inconsiderate

enough knowing that there is a long line up behind you and what were you thinking that if the

amount is short you can talk, argue and fight with the machine.

2. Looking up in the sky – when you are talking to someone and he is not looking through

your eyes but searching the farthest stars in the universe in the middle of daylight.

3. To describe its task in a very simple definition that everybody could understand and for me not to stress and strain my brain; the Senate (Congress) is just to make a law, that’s it, no other else, that is why they call themselves the legislator, to legislate. This is one of the 3 duties that supposed to make the government a working government. There, is the balance because the tasks is relegated to the trinity of the government, none has the monopoly of the jobs. There is no such thing as “check and balance” but only “balance”, they are buffoon themselves added this word “check” to give way their vicious primitive attitude of being nosey. Perform well your duty and do the checking only to your own concerned; self-checking. How can you afford a nerve having an eye to someone else if you are a complete failure to your assignment? When you are assigned to any task either it is a no-brainer or something complicated than your life, you have to get it done but to get involved in anyone’s identified job not being asked is not in the manual of your to-do list.
When these revered senators are just but a mess in their works is something not a shocking because crystal clear they are not fit for such undertaking. They made their way to the seats because of the flaws in the constitution that you must be 35 year old and able to read and write. Funny that millions of Filipinos out there who are at the age of 35, not only could write and read but with doctoral degree couldn’t land a job because even a fastfood chain wouldn’t accept them. Oh! This may be the solution to the chronic unemployment problem of the Philippines, let’s count the numbers of population who falls on that category; anyone who is 35 years of age, know how to write and read is by without saying already a “Senator”, unemployment solved. Now lets construct a very huge structure that could house a millions seats for these millions senators. LOL! Isn’t it great when you reach 35, just be sure accomplish your ABC, automatic you are a senator receiving a pork barrel yearly of 200 million pesos or 4.5 million dollars.
Another loophole to the constitution that shoot up some individual to the senate; if you are 18 year old and could write and read you can vote. These is where chaos started, what if I am 18, perfected the alphabet, that doesn’t made me expert in filtering information from all sides especially if my stomach is troubling me, I will not bother to listen and heft those substantial and nonsense talking of politicos, it will be easier for me to decide and choose someone who will give me a sardines or eat with me barehanded or walking with me on a muddy rice paddies or hand me over a pittance amount of pesos enough to survive three meals or enjoyed my eyes with dancing of some celebrity . Their pretensions and make believe is deceiving at the moment when brain is not working because it is being ostracized by my starving stomach, tempting to trade knowing that it is the only benefit being an 18 year old in every three or six years or during the election time, it is o.k. than nothing at all.
Those are all the main reason why most of them don’t want to change the constitution because they knew by keeping that way it is now they can still use the power of deceiving and taking advantage. Deceiving is a lot facile than perceiving. The constitution now is pro-politicos than pro-citizen, after all the politicians crafted the constitution.

Going back to the title “What is happening to the Philippine Senate”

Their favorite pastime is to put blame on the president for the sake of check and balance. But zero accomplishments that would empower all the citizens especially the well-being of the needy people. They just won’t get enough; they would do it over and over again.

They dip to the sauce of others just to be part of the media frenzy. They dragged the name of the higher chamber to the lowest of the lowest; how could they afford to spend budget and time of the people just to be part of the so-called investigation of someone’s sex scandal when this higher institution could choose not to even bother about it.

One Senator is on the run, right now he is out of the country trying to get away from the law of the Philippines. When this particular law maker was making his own shallow expose and moro-moro investigation, he was so furious and ballistic if none of his invited shown up. He even threatened them for contempt. Now he is an actor in his own satire.

Appalling news; another senator who is not even allowed to participate in the sessions because he is still in prison for the rebellion case is one of the most spenders among the legislator. Last 2008 he spent P17,280,709.79, making him on the top four spenders, how could a detained could use such amount, sitting in the prison all I know doesn’t require a single peso. He is so crass to criticize the president about the corruption when he is actually worst and he has an unexplained wealth like cars and house while he was still a Navy Lieutenant. Damn and shame to the Filipinos who voted him.

Going Along To Get Along

Sometimes we are no better than a dead fish drifting and bobbling in the current of the sea, no ideas where to go.

Among friends and colleagues you don’t start the satire picking on someone else but you partake the laughing doesn’t want to offer any comments playing safe but as the fun stirs up you joined them throwing insulting words because you are afraid enough that the table might turn around you and be fun off this time.

Just to be in the hip, you would do about anything although it might cause you a half of your life. You are fully aware that it is totally not of a necessity but always eaten by fear of what others might think of you, you made a clearly impractical irrational decision that cost you a fortune. Yes you are now in the loop and look very happy but deep down you knew it’s all crap and shallowness that will never ever make you happier and more of a human being but rather made you surely less.

You are in the corporate world. Worth commendable that you strived hard, shed sweat, blood and tears to make your way up there. In this predefined world that you are into now where you have to act according to its given definition only to find out that it is not exactly of what you had expected. You were expecting a broader horizon a field of endless kicking but rather a world of expectations to live up and a world full of sleuthing and goggling judgmental eyes.

Doesn’t know how to say “yes or no”, the reasons that you don’t want to disappoint or hurt others feelings is most of the time is such a lame excuse and not a valid reasons at all to grant any manipulative favors and requests. “I don’t want to hurt your feeling” is just a euphemistic way of “I don’t want you to not like me”. Most people are always afraid of being not liked by others, made them not to stand on their feet, enough not to listen to their guts. Always thinking of what others might say to you. Every move is being conscious to become popular to others, doing some candy coating, servicing favors that beyond your will. All these actions that causes to loosing your own identity and self respect just because of what they are thinking towards you. As if you were created to please everybody but in fact (just to bop-bop reminding your head) you are clearly not.

In the fight, heated altercation or trouble that you dragged yourself against your will, you wanted to dodge and literally run way because you don’t want of aggravating the situation, maybe which is a good decision but not great. When you are not causing harm to someone and he is deliberately trying to intimidate you for no reason at all just to feed his vicious tripping always assert yourself, of course not in an aggressive way but if it won’t work and you think he would bring it up to another level be ready for it. Maybe it is time for you to introduce some lessons.

Sometimes going along to get along is only an option if you think that for that particular chance everything will be easier and getting rid of complications, but make sure you do it only sometimes not most of the times and it will be of good service to you.

Going along to get along is as well as dead.

Agree to Disagree

Many years have gone by and the humanity still struggling how to be united, this endeavor is everybody wishes every time being asked that it sounds so irritating to the ears, or many times one is embarrassed to tell others that this is what he wanted, its like answering to the question “what is your birthday wish and you want world peace and yet you cannot reply blatantly because it sounded too cliché”. Very hard to understand that everybody is set for a common like but always found each other in an opposite direction ended up always in fighting. The world is plagued with human made disasters, wasting lives and making the environment not so conducive anymore for living, no matter how far the science and technology will bring the humankind of finding an earth like planet in the abysmal of the universe to expand its territorial still not enough, even if the God will provide a douverse or triverse for an unlimited space adventure just to give consent to the spoiled bratness, this is still a meager to man.

The fact is that the universe is full of galaxical disagreements. The universe came to big-bang because of the elements within that cannot be contain and that was the most powerful disagreement ever happened and hitherto that is still exponentially occurring. The universe is a marvelous graphical photograph of the greatest disagreement one could ever imagine.

Even in the context of talking about oneself, within you there is always an opposing relativity. Your two arms has always been swinging in opposite direction, your feet always step one after the other, how convenient your life would be if you force yourself to walk having your arms and legs to move parallel to each other. Your set of teeth is grinding in a very opposing way, I wonder if you could chew a marshmallow setting your teeth to bite both in sideways or downward. Your very thinking, ideas, the guts and feeling they always offer an option.

Starting from your self, to something bigger than your life and going out in the universe every space is filled with disagreements.

All we can do is to agree to this encompassing disagreement.

Agree to disagree and life is set on course.

Gold

It’s a fresh new year, thinking to invest your money. We can talk about “gold”.

From one of the oldest civilization in recorded history, gold was being used as ornamental and decorative and eventually has evolved to the modern time as the standard of exchange for worldwide trade and commerce.

This is how the gold valued since 1945.

The benchmark is one US dollar.

If you bought a gold way back 1945 at a price of one dollar it stayed the same until the year of 1967. When you are thinking that time of gold as an investment, apparently your money stayed dormant for more than two decades, maybe because the world was just starting to recover from the war that made the people’s interest in it to put aside. But in 1968 your one dollar becomes $1.1217, $1.1186 by 1969, down to $1.0403 in 1970.

Table Illustration:
1945 to 1967 ---------------------------------- US$1
1968 ---------------------------------- US$1.1217 (up by 10.85%)
1969 ---------------------------------- US$1.186 (up by 5.42% from previous year)
1970 ---------------------------------- US$1.0403 (down by 14% from previous year)
1971 ---------------------------------- US$1.1786 (up by 11.73% from previous year)
1972 ---------------------------------- US$1.6743 (up by 29.60% from previous year)
1973 ---------------------------------- US$2.7946 (up by 40.09% from previous year)
1974 ---------------------------------- US$4.564 (up by 38.77% from previous year)
1975 ---------------------------------- US$4.614 (up by 1.08% from previous year)
1976 ---------------------------------- US$3.5806 (down by 28.86% from previous year,)
1977 ---------------------------------- US$4.2374 (up by 15.50% from previous year,)
1978 ---------------------------------- US$5.53 (up by 23.37% from previous year)
1979 ---------------------------------- US$8.7857 (up by 37.06% from previous year)
1980 ---------------------------------- US$17.5017 (up by 49.80%)
1981 ---------------------------------- US$13.1326 (down by 33.27%)
1982 ---------------------------------- US$10.7403 (down by 22.27%)
1983 ---------------------------------- US$12.1143 (up by 11.34%)
1984 ---------------------------------- US$10.3046 (down by 17.56%)
1985 ---------------------------------- US$9.076 (down by 13.54%)
1986 ---------------------------------- US$10.5211 (up by 13.73%)
1987 ---------------------------------- US$12.7986 (up by 17.79%)
1988 ---------------------------------- US$12.5231 (down by 2.20%)
1989 ---------------------------------- US$10.9309 (down by 14.57%)
1990 ---------------------------------- US$10.998 (down by 00.61%)
1991 ---------------------------------- US$10.3797 (down by 5.96%)
1992 ---------------------------------- US$9.8563 (down by 5.31%)
1993 ---------------------------------- US$10.3117 (up by 4.42%)
1994 ---------------------------------- US$11.012 (up by 6.79%)
1995 ---------------------------------- US$11.0143 (up by 0.02%)
1996 ---------------------------------- US$11.1169 (up by 0.92%)
1997 ---------------------------------- US$9.4969 (down by 17.06%)
1998 ---------------------------------- US$8.4354 (down by 12.58%)
1999 ---------------------------------- US$7.9974 (down by 5.48%)
2000 ---------------------------------- US$8.0029 (up by 00.06%)
2001 ---------------------------------- US$7.7777 (down by 2.89%)
2002 ---------------------------------- US$8.8951 (up by 12.56%)
2003 ---------------------------------- US$10.4229 (up by 14.66%)
2004 ---------------------------------- US$11.7291 (up by 11.14%)
2005 ---------------------------------- US$12.7429 (up by 7.96%)
2006 ---------------------------------- US$17.3143 (up by 26.40%)
2007 ---------------------------------- US$19.9714 (up by 13.30%)
2008 ---------------------------------- US$25.7143 (up by 22.33% from previous year)

We compare the illustration to the 10 year investment plan.

Your one dollar investment in 1945 slept until 1955, didn’t get up and continued to the year 1965. In 1975 it becomes 4.614$ which is a 461.4% increase from one dollar. After 10 years again by 1985 the gold was only 9.076$ which is lower of 907.6% but in the middle of this decade by 1980 the gold was a record high at 17.5007$ posting a jump of 1750.07%. In 1995 it’s a little lower as compared 10 years ago, at 1101.43% making the gold in 11.0143$. Came 2005 the gold went up a little to 12.7429$ with a percentage increase from one dollar of 1274.29%. 2008 is the all time high in the modern history of gold, the valuable stone shoot up to 25.7143$ equivalent to 2571.43% from a dollar. The preceding two years 2007 and 2007 were also another set of record high its like making way for 2008 blast.

When you purchased your gold in 2001, you got a triple price of it in 2008.
You have gold worth three million dollar way back 1968, after four decades (the year of 2008), it is worth a price of 26 folds and your three million becomes now more than a hundred million dollars including its history value.

My 2009

Still one day before 2009 bid goodbye to us and 2010 bang hello.
I was thinking to get the keypad clicked and pressed again for this very last day of the year.

Here it is.

My 2009 to myself
I was very courageous, rational and emotional to come up a decision of leaving my job when the world was in a pastime retrenching workers, when everybody would go beyond their ability to keep a hold to their jobs. (Maybe I am half telling the truth when I said “courageous” to let go of my old job if there would have been no place I could fit in. I really did it because I knew there was a new one waiting for me. To be fair with my previous company, I have nothing against them and we were in good terms. They will always be a part my life’s history that is worth telling for.

My 2009 to my wife
Still I am who loved her very much; just maybe she won’t feel the intensity how it radiates and that is because of my imperfection and flaws. I am pretty sure to myself (more than I want to assure her or anybody) that in morning I get up she is the one I choose to be with and end the day to share with. If others bragging that their getting enough attention from their better half, I say that I am always will always be proud to assert that I dearly loved her and go the distance for her. That is all that there is.
Just too bad right now that we are an ocean apart, so I guess I have to spend the welcoming of New Year in my solitary, poor me.

My 2009 to my family
It always has been me what I was to my family as they are to me only I am bigger, responsible and wiser.

My 2009 to my colleagues and friends
It wasn’t a perfect and ideal year for all of us but it was all because of the nature of getting along. Maybe still a fledgling interaction among the involved and surely it will grow to the benefits of everybody.

My 2009 to my new Boss and Company
How darn numb I am if I wouldn’t be grateful given a very elusive opportunity to work with such a wonderful Boss and Company. A boss who is willing to go beyond of what a boss is in a very positive way. A boss who sees you which is a very significant and dynamic ingredient to whatever relationship you are into; if “Yes” is the answer to the question “Do You see me?”

My 2009 to the world
Yes, maybe I was such a whiner of what is going on around, to the happenings bigger than my life. 2009 was a tough year for all of us and to the world. The worldwide shaking economic crunch, disasters and conflicts, the worsening environmental problem which is remain unsolved during the very recent United Nations talk that completely failed because no one knows among the leaders what the meaning of compromise is.

My 2009 to my health
I was in a very excellent shape, so consistent in burning off around 1500 calories, doing it five days a week. I always have a time to hit the gym.

My 2009 to my money
I was thankful that despite of economic tightening everywhere, it was not that tough on us.

My 2009 to my future babies
That is not 2009 anymore, that would be 2010 and beyond

To everybody let us welcome the New Year with a positive outlook.
A promising 2010 to all of us. Let us claim the health, the money and time.
Happy New Year!!!

Basketball to Football

The Philippine is 53rd in the International Basketball Federation world ranking and on top among the Southeast Asian nations.

The Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (Philippine Basketball Association) director so up-beat to consider it as the major leap for the Philippines, oh yes, because it used to be 63rd. Ha! Ha! Ha! So funny and desperate! It is like having a waistline of 42 inches and after a lazy exercise down to 41.

When the Philippine was so good in basketball it was when the rest of the world (especially Asia) was not playing the game except for US and Europe. Still top in Southeast Asia, of course, because the Filipinos play more time than the rest of Malay race and they are of the same built. When the Middle East Countries started (just recently) and get used to this sport they dominate the game in Asia, this is because they are bigger. China and India performed well because of their bigger population where they can choose numbers of taller player.

It is time for the Filipinos to realize that basketball (of course it is for everybody, but in the sense of competing internationally) is the game for taller people, unless there are divisions for this game like boxing.
