How to find secrets behind this little stuff and turnout to be simple project one can make at home. And You finally understood that metal detector were "Useful" !! Here's the basic principle.

Metal detectors have two oscillators. One is tunable and the other is "Fix" with a loop. Both are "Tuned" at same frequency. Outputs from this two oscillators are then mixed in a mixer which produces only the difference. Means, if both oscillators are at the same frequency, there is nothing heard in the speaker.

To start with, you need to "Zero beat" both oscillators or say "Null" them while keeping your detector in the free air, away from metal objects. Use the tuning control provided for this purpose.

Once this is done, start placing detector around metal objects and you will notice that "Zero beating" is getting disturbed and an audio tone from the speaker is heard. Wow, the detector has found a metal and its working!! The laptop used in the test is, however, rather different from those consumers would pick up at the store, at least for now.

The machine's equipped with high-end components including Intel solid-state hard drives (SSDs), a mercury-free LED display, and an optional ultra-capacity battery.

The cream-of-the-crop components played a crucial role in making the 24-hour battery life possible. HP says the Illumi-Lite LED display, by itself, boosts battery run time by up to four hours compared with traditional LCD displays, and the Intel SSD provides up to a 7 percent increase in battery life compared with traditional hard drives. CNET News Article.

Learning to use ExpressPCB CAD software is fast because of its standardized Windows user interface. we suggest that you quickly read our two short Quick Start Guides. Look in the Help menu of the ExpressSCH program for the Quick Start Guide on drawing schematics. For circuit board design, read the Quick Start Guide found with the ExpressPCB program. After spending the few minutes to learn one, the other takes almost no time because it works the same way.
Membranes switch panels and overlays are found on keyboards, remote controls, and security alarm keypads. They provide simple labels to give directions to the users about the function of each button.

Typical membrane switches incorporates the following layered components :

Graphic presentation layer

Graphic adhesive layer

Circuit board or PCB layer

Adhesive separator layer

Optional second circuit or PCB layer

Adhesive layer

One thing you should know about membrane switch capabilities is its contribution to the durability of the device it covers. Anything that is touch activated is expected to wear down over time, and membrane switches are no different. But they can be replaced when they begin to look worn, so that the actual electronics will not be exposed.
Both use the same process to make a copy but they each do it in a slightly different way. When you place a page on a copier machine and press the start button the copier starts by using a series of mirrors and lenses to project an image of the page onto the side of a rotating tube.

In a xerographic copier machine, this tube is light sensitive. The picture that is projected onto the tube causes electrostatic charge to collect on the tube in a pattern that matches the page that you are copying. The tube is then coated with a dust called toner which sticks to the charged parts of the tube. A piece of paper is then pressed against the tube and the toner is transferred to the paper. The paper now has a dark image of the original page. This paper is then heated to bake the toner and the copying is done.

This is the same process that an electrostatic copier machine uses except that instead of a light sensitive tube, light sensitive paper is used. The image is projected directly onto the paper which produces a pattern of charge, is coated with toner and baked to produce a final copy.

It is accomplished by radio, telephone, or undersea cable. The essential parts of a fax machine system are a transmitting device that translates the graphic material into electrical impulses according to a set pattern, and a synchronized receiving device that retranslates these impulses and prints a facsimile copy.

In a typical system the fax machine scanner consists of a rotating cylinder, a source projecting a narrow beam of light, and a photoelectric cell. The copy to be transmitted is wrapped around the cylinder and is scanned by the light beam, which moves along the cylinder as it revolves.

The output of the photoelectric cell is amplified and transmitted to the receiving end, where a similar cylinder, covered with specially impregnated paper, revolves in synchronism with the transmitting cylinder. A light of varying intensity moves along the rotation cylinder and darkens the paper by chemically reproducing the pattern of the original. It's a way of the fax machine work.
