We really appreciate all the kind and encouraging words. We are in the midst of all that fun of looking for a house, packing, and continuing to enjoy our ministry here. We look forward to getting together with as many as we can before we move. Many of you are praying for us as we look for a house in New Braunfels. We appreciate and cherish your prayers.

We have a great group of campers and counselors going to camp this eek. Many have been praying for a year for this camp. Please pray for the speakers, musicians, and all of the workers. We ask that you pray for each of us that we will not miss what God has for us. We are looking forward to an amazing week. Thank you for your prayers.

Prayer and our view of God

Prayer can be intimidating. Do you remember the first time you went swimming in water over your head? I guess I should say, do you remember the first time, consciously? My son, Evan, is two and he has no fear of jumping into water and watching the pretty bubbles above him as he sinks to the bottom. Did you have a little fear your first time going into the deep end of the pool? Did you doubt yourself? Did you ask, can I really do it? What if? If you are anything like me, I was intimidated. I also had a little, okay, a lot of intimidation going on when I first began to pray.

Prayer is communication with God. It is having a conversation with the Creator of the world. What a privilege! We have that privilege because of Jesus’ death, burial, and resurrection that reconciles sinners to a Holy God. Jesus is our mediator and earned us access to the Father through the Spirit (Eph 2:18).

Prayer is the best evidence for a person’s view of God. When we read prayers in the Bible we sense the author’s view of God. Our prayers reveal what we believe about God. What view of God does your prayers express?
