True Blood Season 5 “Buried” Teaser Trailer

Here is the first teaser for season five of True Blood. Any teaser that doesn’t have Eric is pretty fluffy IMO but I think that may be a bit too soon. The teaser seems to highlight that secrets will come to light and what was once buried (King Russell) will not remain buried. We pretty much knew that already so this teaser isn’t a really effective tease. Still happy to see any mention of True Blood season five though!

Eric Northman is #2 Vampire In Top 50 List

That is according to SFX at least. We all know he is #1. Last year he ranked at #41 while Bill was somewhere around #27. Luckily their tastes have improved and they even acknowledge that the Viking has eclipsed the supposed “star” of the show.

Here is what they had to say about the vampire viking:

Eric the Viking. Once a phrase that immediately meant “flop comedy from the Monty Python guy”. Now it means, “Top Nordic vampire hottie.” Bill was supposed to be the alpha vampire on True Blood, but – although far from unpopular – he was eclipsed by his blond nightclub owner boss in the popularity stakes (if “stakes” isn’t too sensitive a word to use). As in so many other cases (Spike and Damon, for instance) he benefitted from the fact that he didn’t have to be the nice guy. Far from it – he’s an utter git, chaining Lafayette to a slave wheel, and tricking Sookie into drinking his blood. Not to mention all the killing. But it’s more than that. Eric is just so inherently cool. So cool it doesn’t matter if he does a bit of killing while getting his hair dyed; or if he cries when his maker dies; or if he wears a shell suit. He remains untouchable cool. Hell, he’s survived centuries with the name Eric. That’s how cool he is.

Deadlocked Book Cover!!

Woot! The cover art for the next Sookie book, Deadlocked, is here! The green light/ring in which we see Sookie leaping is no doubt the Cluvier Dor (which basically grants Sookie a wish). How will Sookie use it to fix things with Eric, who is betrothed to the Queen of Oklahoma against his will? Will she use it for that at all? Can’t wait to find out!

Meet Eric Northman’s Sister

This season we are going to meet Eric Northman’s “sister”… another progeny of our beloved Godric. Her name is Nora and she is going to be played by the stunning British actress Lucy Griffiths of BBC’s Robin Hood. Her character is “working as a double agent within the Vampire Authority. Described as intelligent, intimidating, cool under pressure and a very good liar, Nora loves Eric deeply, but has dedicated her life to a higher purpose.” Can’t wait to meet dear sis and see how similar she is to Eric. The description sounds quite a bit like him!

Season Five Casting Calls

Found this casting call info on Facebook today. Most of it was highly boring IMO… lots of stuff about wolves (meh), and lots about Jessica, Jason, and frat parties (yawn). But a few interesting tidbits were these…

[HAYES] A large vampire of Eastern European descent, he is dispatched by the Authority to give the True Death to some other vampires…3 lines, 2 scenes

[TEAM CAPTAIN #2 / DONNIE] Seen in flashback, this 6th grade boy bullies Sookie and is very angry and disturbed when she reveals something private about his life…3 lines, 1 scene

[TEAM CAPTAIN #1] Seen in flashback, this 12-year-old boy is a bully who doesn’t pick Sookie for his kick ball team…1 line, 1 scene

Is the Authority (via Hayes) coming to finish what Nan was supposed to have started and kill Eric and Bill? I also enjoy Sookie flashback scenes so those should be interesting. I wonder what they hope to show us about her current situation. None of this is particlarly spoilery… guess we have to wait a bit for that!

Alexander Skarsgård Wins the Scream Award!

Woot! Alexander Skarsgård has won the Scream award for Best Horror Actor for the second year in a row, once again beating out Beel (Stephen Moyer). Thanks to all Eric/Alex fans who voted daily and made this happen!

Also a winner was Joe Manganiello for Best Breakout Performance and True Blood for Best Ensemble Award. Congrats to our fave show and its amazing cast!

HBO release some wallpapers for season four. The good news is that 3 of them feature Eric Northman… more than any other character except Sookie, who also has 3. The bad news is that none of them are of Sookie and Eric alone. HBO is messing with us big time!
