Conflicting Views

Three women and two men look in opposite directions in Myungdong.

This is one of my favorite street photos from Korea so far for several reasons. First, I love the graphic look that I got from it. It is very contrasty, punchy, and "in-your-face." When it comes to advertisement art, I also have typically only had one person in the scene. However in this image, I have 3 "real" people with two characters. However at the same time I feel that the image is almost perfectly balanced, with three of the people (the male in the advertisement and the two ladies sitting down) looking left, and two of them looking right (the woman in the advertisement and the man). The facial positions of the two groups of people almost seem to be identical which seems very uncanny and odd, and almost "too perfect." Furthermore, I can't help but wonder what they are looking at or what they are thinking about.

Maybe you guys can have your own conclusions about this image. Please feel free to share them! :)
