When you go to the chain restaurants - if you order the lasagna, and you lick your lips and swoon over how good it is...Stouffer's appreciates the compliment.
You are paying 8.95 or more for a slice of lasagna that you can buy in the frozen foods section of your favorite grocer fro 8.95 a box.

I can't stand the idiots that frequently stand in line at TGIFridays, Olive Garden, BW3s or Max & Erma's to eat manufactured food shipped in from Chicago. Everything is thawed from frozen and all their sauces come out of a can or bag. Most of our local restaurants are half empty of Friday nights yet serve some of the most delicious and very often locally grow/raised foods made with some love! Get a clue people! Support your neighbors!

I love Max and Erma's. We go there more often then most other chain restaurants. They are very family friendly (we have 2 little ones) and the food is always great. I'd recommend the Steak with Cactus butter, or the buffalo chicken sandwich. As much business as we give them I'm surprised they are going bankrupt.

Sprawl Mart's usual mode is to put in several stores in an area forcing out all the little competition. Then they pick a location, and build a super Sprawl Mart and then close all the surrounding stores Thus forcing everyone who has become dependent on them to drive the extra distance to the super store.

Also as I understand it - if you are a vendor with a product that you would like Sprawl Mart to carry, you beg for an appointment to show it to them and you pay for the privilege. Then Sprawl Mart will decide what they want to pay you for your product and if you don't kowtow to them, they buy your product from another vendor for the price they wish to pay - eventually putting you out of business.

Then they take out life insurance policies on most employees, so when that sweet old senior greeter dies, Sprawl Mart get the insurance pay off, and gets most of that persons wages back.

The 26th & Zuck site is a McD's, as was said above, however the old one will be closed and torn down. I don't know what's going in @ Caughey, but I think it looks oddly like another Tim Horton's. Trying to kill Brickhouse, I presume.

Boo to the movie player that starts automatically.

All of those busted this week were charged with "criminal use of a communications facility" (aka a phone), a felony charge for using the phone to set up a drug deal. Damn that seems kinda harsh.

I can understand going after the guys making $160k a month selling drugs but arresting the low level street buyers seems like a dickish thing to do in my mind. One of which was 19 and bought some grass....now he's looking at multiple felony charges.

Someone else will just pop up in the vacuum left by these dealers being popped until some sort of controlled legalization is in place. The black market still exists despite these dudes being taken out of the competition.

I remember that now - Shebang was in the Old Green Stamp Catalog Store. And then I think it was Century.

Regardless if Wild Waves was pay or not - It was a skate board Park which makes it first.

I thought Wendy's was decreasing their presence in Erie - So I am surprised that they would be building a new one.

The Griswold Park in my opinion did nothing but decrease the available parking in the area which will hurt the businesses there. It was the only Post Office I had ever been to where the parking made sense or was adequate. Well, I guess they fixed that now.

It was called Wild Waves Skateboard Park. I believe it was a privately owned facility in which you had to pay to ride. It was not a free public skatepark like the one that has been constructed in little Italy. This is why it has earned the title "Erie's First Skate Park" Also don't forget about the now defunct Shebang Skatepark that was located on west 12th street near Pittsburgh Ave. This was also a pay-to-play business and not free to the public.
