How did this happen?

2011-09-15T10:56:00.000-07:00

I didn't freak out on her birthday. But last night while getting her dressed for bed, it just hit me-my baby is so big now!

How did she go from this:

to this:

to this, so fast??

I know I am a week late, but Happy 2nd Birthday to my beautiful daughter!

2011-02-13T08:50:00.000-08:00

I couldn't get a great picture, but when I was able to finally get Kennedy's hair into pigtails for the 1st time today, she looked so cute I almost cried!

Outdoor Fun!

Another beautiful day here and thankfully I didn't have to work, so I got to spend the day with Kennedy, my sister and my dad.

Kennedy and Grandpa

too funny!

Poor orange never knew what was coming....

Day at the park

2011-01-15T20:34:00.000-08:00

You've got to love California. 2 weeks ago it was snowing, today it was 80 degrees out! I took Kennedy on a walk to the park and let her run around for awhile. I didn't take many pictures, I was just trying to soak in the beautiful day with my little girl. It really made me miss the days I was home with her every day, so I am really happy this is a 3 day weekend.

This kid loves apples!

She is so cute it hurts.

Crazy kid. She has this whole big park to run around at, and what does she want to do? Go through mommy's purse!

Have a great weekend everyone!

Snow in Southern California

2011-01-11T19:24:00.000-08:00

I went to San Diego for New Years, and as I was driving home with only a few miles till home, I noticed the rain hitting my windshield looked a little slushy. I got home and saw all these posts of Facebook of people saying it was snowing in Santa Clarita. So Ron & I run to the window and sure enough, it's snowing!!! At 2 in the afternoon in Southern California! I was like a little kid, taking video, pictures, running in and out of the house and driving Kennedy nuts by pointing it out to here all afternoon. We finally got all bundled up and drove down the street to take pictures of ourselves in the snow. It was so much fun, but so sad to wake up the next morning and see it was all gone :(

Union Station

2011-01-11T19:13:00.000-08:00

I left work early today for a dentist appointment. Buuut, i missed my train and ended up stuck in Union Station for two hours. After watching a man scream at strangers, playing with my phone until my battery almost died, and talking myself out of eating a giant pretzel, I decided to walk around and take a few pictures with my dying phone.

Merry Christmas!

2010-12-21T13:42:00.000-08:00

I know this blog has pretty much been abandoned, but I am hoping to start trying to take more pictures now that I am pretty well adjusted to my work schedule.

I saw last night that The Pioneer Woman has a new photo challenge up (Bokeh) so I decided to take a few pictures last night. Nothing great, but it was the first time in awhile that I have used my camera for something other than just snapping a few quick pictures of Kennedy running around the house.

Here was what I got:

Pumpkin Patch- Round 2

2010-10-24T21:41:00.000-07:00

We went back to another pumpkin patch today, this time with the whole family. This place was HUGE with the crowds to match. Kennedy got to run around with a bunch of pumpkins and try her first taste of corn on the cob.

Then I saw sunflower seeds like this, and I was a little grossed out.

And I leave you with this....

Rough

This has been a really rough week for me, but there is something that makes it all better.

Fall!

2010-10-03T15:00:00.000-07:00

I am so excited that Fall is finally here, now if only the weather would start to cool down.

Yesterday we took Kennedy to a pumpkin patch:

There wasn't actually many pumpkins, but Kennedy when buck-wild when I let her run around the pumpkins. I was hoping for a picture for a Halloween card, but as you can tell, that wasn't going to happen with her running all over the place:

But this one makes me smile

Birthday Party!!

2010-09-14T21:08:00.000-07:00

My little girl is one now and Sunday it was time to celebrate!

The theme was pinwheels and with my wonderful sister's help we had over 70 handmade pinwheels to decorate with.

Before the party Ron took Kennedy around the yard to check out all the decorations:

Then it was time to party!!

Kennedy got to destroy her second cake in less than a week (she better not start expecting this everyday!)

Happy Birthday sweet girl, I can't believe a year has already passed!

And thanks again Kim for all your help, your the best sister a girl could ever ask for!

Shoe Shopping

2010-08-29T00:42:00.000-07:00

Kennedy is a pro at walking now and she really needs some real shoes instead of all the cutesy little sandals she has that she manages to pull off in about 2 seconds. Today my sister and I took her shoe shopping and the cuteness was almost too much to handle. What is it about these teeny tiny shoes that are so irresistible? I think you could take the ugliest shoe on earth and make it baby sized and it would be adorable.

Check out my little girl in her big girl shoes:

Since I spend so much time at work I thought I would take a little picture of what I see every day.

Road Trip teaser

2010-08-20T21:32:00.000-07:00

This has been a great summer, and I was lucky to spend part of it one a road trip with my mom and sister. I'm still trying to get used to my new daily schedule now that I am working full time, and I know the blog has been very neglected. I plan on putting up all the trip photos soon, but for now here a few that kind of sum up the trip:

Lots of driving:

Lot of animals:

and lots of acting silly:

Catching up

2010-07-24T10:32:00.000-07:00

I know I have not really been posting on here much, but I really haven't had much time the past couple weeks to take any pictures. I have now officially been working full time for the past 2 weeks and I am still adjusting to my new schedule. I really like my job, but being away from Kennedy is so hard for me. I am not used to being away from her all day and just getting to spend an hour or 2 (if I'm lucky) with her before she has to go to bed. It makes me sad just thinking about it so i am not going to right now.

The only pictures I have taken recently have been on the weekends, and just quick snapshots:

My mom bout Kennedy and silly baby wetsuit that has floaties built into it. It is so padded that she can't even sit up in it, she just tips over! By the time I grabbed the camera she was prety much ready to ge her out of that thing, so she has a little meltdown:

Hopefully that works, I've never posted a video before.

Sunday I went to the Hollywood Bowl for a girls night with my sis.

Kennedy just cut 5 teeth at once and has atleast one more we can see coming in. She has been dealing really well with teething so far, but I can't say the same for her toys......

And here she is (with a little piece of the book still stuck on her chin) I know it's not a great picture, but I am so happy to see her when I get home and spend every minute I can before she has to go to bed, so I really haven't been thinking about taking pictures lately.

Better late than never..

2010-07-11T21:18:00.000-07:00

4th of July pics. We ate- A LOT, I baked a pie (which looked better than it tasted), had some margaritas then went to see the fireworks. This was my 1st attempt at taking fireworks pictures, and although I am not thrilled with them, some came out ok and I learned some stuff for next time. Biggest thing is to use a wide angle lens next time. I only brought my zoom lenses, thinking that the fireworks would would really far away, but I really wasn't thinking about the fact that they are so large. So all I really got were close-ups instead of pretty sky shots. Oh well, I am still pretty happy for my 1st try. I just wish we weren't sitting directly under a street light which ended up in most my pictures.

Another Weekend at the pool

2010-06-25T20:15:00.000-07:00

I know I am really getting lazy at updating my pictures frequently, I'm sorry.
This past weekend family came to stay with my parents and we spent most of the weekend barbecuing and playing in the pool.

I tried desperately to get some pictures of bubbles, but mainly just ran around pointing my camera in the air and hoping for the best:

Kennedy just watched on as mommy ran around like an idiot and the her cousin played in the pool:

2010-06-18T00:06:00.000-07:00

Today was my 28th birthday & Ron and I took Kennedy to the Zoo. I wasn't sure if she would really pay attention to any of the animals, but she ended up checking out all of them and getting really excited. I think her favorite was the flamingos, probably because of their bright colors.

I tried to catch a picture of the gazelles running around but that was easier said than done:

Those things are fast!

This guy cracked me up:

Today I discovered that although girrafes are gorgeous, their tounges are by far the creepiest things EVER. It's like a snake in their mouth- I shudder just thinking about it:

I got some better pictures of it, but I can't even stand to look at them. It was that gross.

As we were trying to find the exit we ran into this guy:

Beautiful!

Sunday Afternoon

2010-06-17T23:39:00.000-07:00

This past Sunday was a nice lazy day- bbq, dogs playing and Kennedy in her little pool. I wish days like this would last forever.

The dogs played...

and then they panted (is that a word? It doesn't look right):

I love those boys!

And then there is this next picture that my brother in law took. I am so in love with this picture words cannot even begin to describe how happy it makes me:

Thanks Danny!
