My work will be in the Spring 2012 Places and Locations issue of Lotto Magazin which is based out of Stuttgart, Germany.

Their mission: There is an idea. It says: human identity consists of six different zones which fit together as an entity. Every individual human being tries its best to keep these different areas of identity stable and firm. If one fails, the loss of identity is inevitable. The six zones mentioned consist of: a soundly relationship to other people, an emotional connection to different places, a mental association with objects and things, an integretion in certain organisations and communities, a well-balanced relation to power and obsession and last a dynamic definition of ideals: ideas in a value system. And this is what the first issue is all about. The „idea" in a sense of a discourse about humanistic values is looked into by as many different angles, grades of abstraction and artistic interpretations as possible. Aspects like religion, philosophy, devotion and avocation, morality and ethics, science and politics are considered within this context as well. And each little part of the human constitution which is thereby explored and reckoned from another point of view helps us to find our complete identity and stability as an individual and within human society.

The theory of the „six stable zones of human identity" was developed by Dr. Roswitha Königswieser and shall be the basis of the conceptual, asthetical and contentwise framework of Lotto Magazin. Each issue is dedicated to one of the six zones.

The Bemis Center for Contemporary Arts is pleased to announce that the current artists-in-residence will be opening the doors to their live/work studios to the public during “Open Studios” on Monday, January 30 between 6:00 and 8:00 pm.

The Bemis Center is widely regarded as a leader and innovator in the international field of artist communities. Our residency program provides artists with three month residencies, private live/work studios and monthly stipends, allowing artists to take creative risks with complete freedom and without expectation. Each year, over 1,000 artists apply for 36 annual fellowships.

Open Studios represents a chance for the public to come meet this exceptional group and experience the Bemis Center’s core mission firsthand. The artists will be available to talk about their process and give you a look at what they've been working on. Come see what happens when talented people are given the freedom to unleash their creativity.

I am super happy to say that my work was invited to be in Massachusetts College of Art and Design's 23rd Annual Benefit Art Auction.

I went to MassArt from 2003-2007 and it was an amazing experience. The great thing about their auction is that it lets artists choose full donation, 25% commission or 50% commission, which is great for us artists who are broke but still want to help out.

Bemis is going so well! 3 days in I have made the warp for my Macomber floor loom, 48" wide 8epi and 8 yards (for now) and a 96" wide 8epi by 8 ft warp for a frame loom I am putting together (pictures below). Lots of eights in there.
