Before I moved to Richmond, I had a wedding shower to go to. My friend Nate (who helped me move) went with me. The party was at the Glades in Scituate which is a really gorgeous place. I still don't think my camera is doing well with color..everything looks super grey. But it was fun and Nate is hilarious, so I thought I would share a little bit of it.

i am having a hard time figuring out how to get windows media player on my mac..which i know is weird, since i post all of my videos using windows. that is because i use a camera and video editor that arent mine..anyway..if anyone has suggestions on how to get windows media onto my mac os x..i would reeeeally appreciate it! i am just learning all this "computer proficiency" but you will see, i taught myself how to make links on the side bar! experiments in html are exciting..its not so foreign and scary any more. thanks y'all.

in west virginia i had a hard time videotaping people without them getting self conscious and shy around the camera. i guess what i'm having a hard time articulating in this video, is that i wanted my sister and her friends to feel natural on camera and not worry about the way they look or sound on video...because i actually think the way people look and act in real life is way more interesting than people on television. i think it's hard for me, too, to come to terms with the way i look and sound on video. i like it, though. it makes me more comfortable the more i do it.

I wanted to put a picture up of a girl i met over easter weekend. jjfever's cousin, julia. she's 5. and she is probably one of the coolest girl's i've ever met. really! she has a gift for art and her entire house is covered in her work. the best thing was, i made a cake to bring over to her house for easter, and she had also been hard at work making cakes that weekend. we exchanged stories of our baking and decorating processes (and, of course, we exchanged slices of cake, too). her mom made an orange bundt cake which is kind of pictured here, behind julia, on your left. i made a strawberry cake with yellow buttercream weaved around the sides so it looked like an easter basket. julia's work was mainly cupcakes and small, individual sized yellow cake with homemade chocolate icing. very cool. she eventually decked my cake with candles to jazz it up and we sang "happy birthday" to the easter bunny and blew out the candles. that was silly, but pretty hilarious.

I think she took this one, so it's fuzzy..but you get the idea.
