I’ve started using Google+ and quite like it. It’s clean, simple, fast and has some nice features. Plus Facebook are dicks and even though Google aren’t saints, I rather prefer them for my social networking.

Now I still have a Faceboout account, because G+ isn’t open for all and lots of my friends still use Facebook. This little trick is quite handy.

Which actually means: Oh shit somebody hacked us, now we have to shutdown everything, find out what they had access to and how they got in.

When you pull the plug on a service which is pretty vital for 70 million users, it’s not good enough with a status for three days that says: “We are working on it, lolz sorry!” and the finally updating with another service that says “We didn’t do it, but still working on it, lolz double sorry!”

The quality isn’t perfect, I don’t have a capture box or something similar, so this is done with a standard camera, which sadly doesn’t even support HD :)

Don’t judge to much, from this video, as it’s hard to capture the details with this equipment, but the game looks super and much better then the demo.

Sony is doing a promotion deal together with Edge, if you buy some of their products, you can get free DLC for GT5, Killzone 3 and Infamous 2. But they been nice enough to accept the UPC numbers from Edge Shower Gel, so with the correct UPC numbers, you can get your hands on this DLC for free.

How to move dalvik-cache and free up space

Now this tip is for rooted Android phones with S-OFF, and if moving to SD, who are running with a SD-EXT partition and I would recommend only using this when running with a fast SD card, which means from class 6 and up. Also it’s required to have ClockworkMod installed. If you don’t know how to root and S-OFF your phone or install ClockworkMod, go search at Youtube, there are plenty guides there, so I’m not making another one.

Dalvik-cache is a cache for every app on your Android phone, which speeds up the apps. Dalvik-cache is normally stored on the internally memory, so if you have really many apps installed, it can become quite big and a problem. You can wipe the cache from eg. ClockworkMod and clean up unused items in the cache, but this will properly only free up a few MB’s, as the cache is rebuilt for every installed app at next boot. You can check how big your dalvik-cache is by opening up a terminal app, eg. like ConnectBot and running thw following commands:

su (for getting root)
du -hcs /data/dalvik-cache

It should say something like: 45.2M /data/dalvik-cache

The dalvik-cache can be moved to either the cache partition or the SD-EXT partition, do NOT move it to the normal SDCARD partition.

The best choice is the cache partition, as this is the safest and does not requires you to use a fast SD card, as /cache is stored at internally memory. But first you have to make sure your cache partition is big enough. Run the command df from ConnectBot and you should get a list of the different mounts and partitions on your phone. Look for the following line: /dev/block/mtdblock4 40960 1672 39288 4% /cache

If your are using SD-EXT, you should also have a line ending with /SD-EXT and how big your SD-EXT partition on your SD-card is.

In my case I had 39288 bytes, which equals 39MB left on my cache partition. This means my cache partition was to small, so I had to use my SD-EXT for dalvik-cache. Now if your cache partition is big enough and remember to leave some room, move your dalvik-cache to the cache partition.

And now for the fun stuff, how to actually move dalvik-cache to either /cache or /SD-EXT. But before you move on, make sure you have done a backup of your system, so in case something went wrong, you can always restore. The easiest way, is to use the backup feature from ClockworkMod Recovery, which stores the backup on your SD card and it can be restored also from ClockworkMod Recovery.

Moving the dalvik-cache, is done from ClockworkMod Recovery, by running a script, which is stored in a install zip package. Save the zip on your sdcard and use “Install zip from sdcard -> Choose zip from sdcard” in ClockworkMod Recovery.

If moving dalvik-cache to /cache - Install this zip from ClockworkMod Recovery
If moving dalvik-cache to /SD-EXT - Install this zip from ClockworkMod Recovery

When done, reboot the phone and have some extra patience, as it takes a bit longer the first time to start up. Now the dalvik-cache should be moved, which you can check by browsing to /data/dalvik-cache in eg. Root Explorer and then look at the top and see how much space are left. Now run the command df in ConnectBot and compare, to see what partition the dalvik-cache is on.

Also read my other tip for HTC Desire phones, which will be up later, on how to use a custom HBOOT, which leaves up more space for your /data partition and way less for /cache and /system. Combining a big /data partition and /sd-ext, should leave lots of space internally for eg. dalvik-cache and other stuff, which normally runs from /data.

Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood free DLC

Beside the brilliant free animus DLC updates for Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood and the free PS3 exclusive Copernicus Conspiracy DLC, there are actually even more DLC for AC:BR.

The Trajan Market is a Templar lair in the game and can be found in the Collectors Edition of the game, from preorder deals and if you were a member of Uplay. I got an extra code for this DLC, which can be redeemed via the extra menu in the game.

Looks like free space and Dropbox is something people really wants, judging from my Dropbox Dropquest 2011 guide, which gives you 1GB space.

So I’ve gathered the best and pretty much every trick there is to get more Dropbox space for free.

When signing up for Dropbox, use a referral link and you will get 250MB free. If you don’t have a referral link, use this one: http://db.tt/4srGDj6
Complete the Dropbox Dropquest 2011, use my guide here to get 1GB!
Connect your Dropbox account with Twitter and Facebook. Follow Dropbox on Twitter and do some advertising for Dropbox, all which can be done from this page. Easy 640 MB for your account.
Go to Dropbox.com, make sure you are logged in and make sure you have completed the “Get Started” tour, this will give you 250 MB extra.
Tell your friends, colleagues, family and so on about Dropbox, send them your referral link and you will get 250 MB for each friend who signs up, plus your friend will get 250 MB. Find your referral link at the Dropbox referral page and check your status here. Do note that you can invite as many as you want, but you can “only” earn from the first 32 persons who sign up, so if you hit the limit, please use this one: http://db.tt/4srGDj6

Dropbox had a Dropquest going on earlier tonight with some nice prices, but you can still get some free space, just by completing the guide, you will get at least 1gb.

For the really lazy, you actually only need enter the pages with dropquest2011 in their URL and it should add space to your account, though you still need to enter codes and solve the puzzles, but that’s easy when the answers are in the guide below. Also note you can’t skip any of the dropquest pages, they unlocks as you progress.

We got the cars! - Free DLC for NFS:HP

Yay, everybody celebrate!

Even though we didn’t hit 1 million views on the Need for Speed Hot Pursuit trailer, EA and Criterion was kind enough to release the three cars as free DLC anyway, which was properly gonna happen no matter what, still always nice with some free DLC :)

So, as an early holiday gift, we’ve decided to give the three convertibles for free to everyone playing Hot Pursuit. Look for them in an upcoming Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 title update (we’ll be sharing more PC news when it becomes available).
