Perhaps it is the raw beauty of the glistening Italian marble or the fusion of ancient European work that draws the crowds to Wat Benchamabophit, but travellers won’t know for sure until they set foot into Bangkok’s Marble Temple and gaze at it themselves.
Unlike the Wat Pho or the Grand Palace in Bangkok, the Marble Temple isn’t as rigorously promoted as the former. Hence, a select few venture to explore the compound. Being part of a royal monastery, the temple was constructed in 1889 but, is still consider as one of the most modern royal temples in the country.
What is amazing is that the structures’ European architectural influences appeal to tourists of all generations. So, whether they be Buddhist or not, there is much to tempt a first time visitor to the Marble Temple.
The finest white marble from the Carrara quarries adorns the walls of the temple as well as the floor of the courtyard. Visitors will also notice the Western style, stained-glass windows have been decorated with typical Thai religious symbols to dress them up. The centre piece at the temple is the golden statue of Lord Buddha on display.
The colorful and complex art work reveals itself to the traveler that can spare a few minutes to work around its compound. The triangular shaped section of the walls which support the roof are structures called gables, have some amazing intricate work set into them.
The view from the east gable which offers a glimpse of the temple’s tiered roof comes highly recommended. However, the glistening temple is better captured on camera during the early hours of the morning as apposed to the afternoon.
The quarters that have been separated for the Buddhist monks offer the most colourful contrasts in the compound. In addition to the monks’ quarters, the compound has a canal that runs through it, which visitors could cross by working along a red coloured bridge, of which there are three.
The Marble Temple is located within a short distance to the Vimanmek Mansion as well. So visitors heading off for a day of sight seeing might want to work the mansion also into their plans. Tourists planning to spend a few extra days in Thailand, and prefer to do a bit more walking about than shopping, should look for a central location to stay in. There are many Bangkok Apartments to choose from that offer easy access to the country’s expressway network which could be used to go about town. The Bangkok President Park offers a combination of suites and rooms, and the facilities at this Bangkok Service Apartment even include a swimming pool, a play area and business facilities as well.

This article is about the travel and flights info. You can find some useful information in it if you are booking your Beijing flights now. (you can get more New York,Los Angeles,San Francisco, Chicago flights and airfares info at Travel2ChinaInfo Dot COM)

Happy Valley Beijing is an amusement park in Beijing built and operated by Beijing OTC, which is part of the Shenzhen OCT Holding Group. The park, which is located in the east of Beijing, opened in July, 2006. It is one of four chained theme parks with the other three Happy Valley theme parks located in the city of Chengdu, Shanghai – opening 2009 and Shenzhen. Similar in style with the Disneyland Park, Happy Valley Beijing also featured distinctive landscapes and themes throughout the resort along with featured rides within the different themes.

1. How to get to the Happy Valley Beijing?

You can take the Line 740 city bus, but the bus station you need to get off is a little bit far away from the Happy Valley Beijing and you will need to walk about 20 minutes. You can transfer to a taxi if you don’t wanna walk there. It is only 10 rmb and this will save you some time. Another choice is the subway. You can take the subway to the station named “Sihui”, then transfer to a taxi to get to the Happy Valley Beijing. The traffic of Beijing is always a headache for lots of people and you can save some time by taking the subway. (Beijing built several new subway lines for the 2008 Beijing Olympics Games and the subway system of Beijing is very convinient now.)

2. When to get there?

I have been to the Happy Valley Beijing twice and I will recommend the non-weekend days. If you choose to visit here in the weekends, it will be a little bit crowded and you will need to spend a lot of time waiting in the lines. The office hours of the Happy Valley Beijing is: 9:30 – 20:00. You don’t need to be here in the early morning because most of the games will not be ready until 10:00 am.(you can get more New York,Los Angeles,San Francisco, Chicago flights and airfares info at Travel2ChinaInfo Dot COM)

3. Admission fees:

160 rmb for the peak season and 120 rmb for the slack season. The kids less than 1.2 meters can get the free entrance. ( less than 1.4 meters can get a 50% off ) For the people older than 70, they can get the free entrance too.

4. Tips for the Happy Valley Beijing:

(1). There are some people selling the admission tickets in the entrance of the Happy Valley Beijing. The pirce is lower than what you can get from the box office. Actually, these tickets are from the travel agencies and there is no difference between these tickets and the tickets from the box office. You can choose to buy these cheap tickets if you wanna save some money.

(2). The food in the Happy Valley Beijing is not cheap: 15 rmb for popcorn, 4 rmb for the roasted sausage and 5 rmb for the drink. The restaurants here are just so so. Lots of people don’t choose to eat in these restaurants. You can bring your own food for lunch if you want.(you can get more New York,Los Angeles,San Francisco, Chicago flights and airfares info at Travel2ChinaInfo Dot COM)

(3). Don’t eat too much before you get to the Happy Valley Beijing. This will cause the vomit when playing the games.

(4). There is a KFC in the entrance of the Happy Valley Beijing and you can choose it for your lunch if you don’t like the food of the restaurants in the Happy Valley.

(5). For the girls, the pants will be a better choice than the dresses when playing the games in the Happy Valley.

(6). The sneaker is a better option than sandal or slipper in the Happy Valley.

(7). The sun-cream is a must have.

(8). The 3D movies are very popular in the Happy Valley.

Marshall is the home of the American Museum of Magic. Illusionists such as David Copperfield, David Blaine, Harry Houdini and other are mesmerizing.

You have to make an appointment to visit the American Museum of Magic in Marshall, Michigan. That is what the sign says on the front door. Tours are given by appointment only. The museum contains over one million pieces of memorabilia collected by Mr. Lund before his death. Many of the memorabilia center around Harry Houdini, but other illusionists are also presented. The museum contains many posters. The museum had been opened only to magicians. Now it is open to the general public, by appointment only.

Do not be surprised if no one shows up for your appointment. Mrs. Lund operates the museum. Her not showing up for the appointment is highly unusual, according to the proprietor of the coffee shop next door. She is seventy-five years old. We asked the coffee shop owner to see if someone could make a drive by of her home.

Take a quiet drive around the city. Marshall, Michigan is known for many stately mansions, including the Honolulu House and the Governor to be House. Presently the home of the Marshal Historical society, the “Honolulu House.” was built by Abner Pratt in 1860. He was chief justice of the Michigan Supreme Court, 1853-1857, and United States Council to Hawaii (1857-1859) under President James Buchanan. The house is a copy of a house in Honolulu, Hawaii, which Abner Pratt enjoyed.

The Governor to be House was built because Marshall had been considered to be in the running to become the state capital. It lost out to Lansing. The house presently is the headquarters of the Mary Marshall Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution.

Speaking of Denmark, all of us would bring the fairy tale kingdom of Andersen to mind. This small country is also a happy country which is judged as the happiest country in the world. If you live in Denmark, you can find the happiness in the life of Dane.

Denmark is neither richer than its neighbor Norway nor healthier than Sweden. Why Dane is so happy is because their lead a modest and pure life. What they seek is not the fame or gain, not the social status or money, but the enjoyment of life. Every Dane is a person who understands how to enjoy one’s life. There are many legal holidays in Denmark, especially in springs and summers. The sunshine in summer makes them jump out of their skin. They enjoy the long day as much as they like. Having a daylight bath is a most happy thing to them. They often have a party with their friends or go to have a holiday. Every week, many museums are open for free. The beer festivals, jazz week, carnivals, culture nights support the Dane the space to enjoy the happiness.

Dane likes to do things even when in the long winter which is short of sunlight. They will try their best to decorate their houses. Almost every Dane is a talent for decorating their houses which are warm and nice.

The consumption idea of Dane is very special. People will not spend much on clothes. The name brand and expensive jewelry are not important to them. They spend much money on dine and wine. So you can see a lot of restaurants, public houses and cafes all over the streets.

One of Africa’s biggest attractions is undoubtedly its enormous wealth of wildlife and, fortunately, the vast majority of Southern and East African nations have been conserving this natural heritage for many decades.

Recently, massive transfrontier game reserves have been on the drawing board and these wildlife sanctuaries are not contained within any one country – they effectively straddle a number of nations, with the Great Limpopo Transfrontier Park already bustling with tourists.

The Great Limpopo Transfrontier Park – 35 000 km²

This spectacular conservation area, situated on the borders of Mozambique, South Africa and Zimbabwe, not only affords visitors diverse and exciting bush opportunities, but allows animals to roam free over large tracts of natural habitat.

Fences have been dropped so that the last remaining vast herds of elephant, wildebeest, zebra and other ungulates, and the predators that haunt their every step, can traverse the land looking for suitable grazing, without the constraints of man-made barriers.

Kavango-Zambezi Transfrontier Park – 278 132 km²

A brand new addition is planned that will rival the Limpopo offering in size and scope, with the opening expected to coincide with the 2010 FIFA World Cup to be held in South Africa. This conservation area, dubbed the Kavango-Zambezi Transfrontier Park, will cover in the region of 278 132 square kilometres of pristine land in Angola, Botswana, Namibia, Zambia and Zimbabwe – an enormous and thrilling exercise.

Some of the inclusive attractions of this mammoth game reserve (the size of Italy) are the famed Victoria Falls in Zambia and Zimbabwe, the Okavango Delta and the magnificent Chobe Game Reserve in Botswana, The Caprivi Strip in Namibia and the Cuando and Cubango regions of Angola.

Visitors to Africa do not have to limit their bush sojourn to these areas only – there are a number of fantastic game reserves in each nation that offer a slightly different experience. Any reputable tour company will be able to design itineraries to suit all quests and budgets, so depending on the safari speciality that offers the most allure, there is literally a destination to suit anyone.

Kruger National Park – 20 000 km²

One of the oldest and arguably better known game parks in the region is the Kruger National Park in South Africa. Opened in 1898, the reserve covers all land between the Crocodile River in the south and the Limpopo River in the north, an area that was once the personal playgrounds of the ‘Great White hunters’ of yore.

The Kruger is 350km long and 65 km wide and is home to a rich tapestry of wildlife, including 147 different mammal species, 507 diverse bird species and well over 100 different reptiles.

For the ultimate in game viewing, take to the bush where big 5 game drives are but one way of witnessing nature at her best. Hot air balloon safaris, horse-back breaks in the bush and even game viewing from the back of an elephant are all very much on the cards for the intrepid traveller to Africa.

Let leading South African tour operator Kuoni Private Safaris plunge you into the heart of the culturally and naturally rich continent of Africa on a professionally organized holiday, be it in South Africa, Namibia, Botswana, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Swaziland, Lesotho, Mozambique, Malawi or Madagascar.

Las Vegas is not just a destination for high rollers and party goers. There are many attractions for the entire family. The entertainment is not limited to the strip. There are many things that will interest the entire family both in the city limits of Vegas and in the surrounding areas. In this article, I would like to illuminate for you just a few of things you can enjoy doing as a family on your next visit to Las Vegas.

Get: Free Las Vegas Tips

First, Downtown Las Vegas has been redone and offers many fun shopping and dining experiences. A large roof has been built over the street and in the evening there is a wonderful laser light show with music that people of all ages can enjoy.

How to: Find Vegas Information

Secondly, all of the large hotels have wonderful pool areas that have many activities and water attractions for kids. If you were to choose Mandalay Bay it is a mini water park. It has a wave pool, a lazy river, and numerous slides. All activities that will keep the kids busy while mom and dad sun bathe.

Third, if coasters and fast rides are your kids thing. Many of them can be found in on top of and in back of the major hotels. Vegas is like a mini amusement park. These rides run day and night for the pleasure of your kids.

Fourth, Lake Meade is a short drive from Vegas were you and your family can see one off this nations modern wonders, Hoover Dam. You can boat around the lake or sign up for one of the many interesting and exciting Dam tours. If you are in Vegas and have never made the trip to Lake Meade I suggest you don’t miss it on your next trip. It is something you and your kids will never forget.

Fifth, Red Rock Canyon and Park is something very worthwhile for you and your children to visit. It is a few minute short drive from the strip, but when you arrive you will think you must have been driving for hours. The scenery is to die for. Beautiful large red rock formations with all kinds of natural vegetation. There are also some wild donkeys and if you are lucky you can get to see them. There is also a small nature preserve that is great for kids. That has a park ranger to answer your questions.

Lastly, so when planning your next family don’t take Vegas off your list because you think it is not a place to take kids. The entire family will have a wonderful time.

The history of Coimbra city has a close relation with the development of the university. As an ancient city of Portugal, there is profound culture to taste for history. The city witnesses the foundation of Portugal; even the Portuguese is originated form here. Handicrafts, bachelor clothes and gowns for fade (Portugal traditional art, melody sorrowful) stars are the three unique product of Coimbra. Also, there is the most distinctive arboretum of Europe here.

If you believe that the place where there is water is beautiful, Coimbra is just a place like that. Mondego River which goes through the Coimbra city, although without the powerful verve and huge size, makes the old city bright and beautiful with the nice scenery on both banks. Travelers would come here every day from all over the world. Walking by the river bank, you can often fall across the students of Coimbra University who are reading a book. The gathering sound of reading, wind and water is as that Mondego River changes into a young and pretty girl by a sudden who is telling the new vigor of the old city.

The old city on the north bank of Montego River is the center for history and culture of Coimbra. Also, here is the place where several generations of royal persons live. The royalty moves the capital city to Lisbon in late 13th century. The city center is just the university city of Coimbra.

Coimbra, as the culture capital in Portugal, holds many kinds of international performances in regular time every year. Here is an about fifty thousands university man for which here is considered the youngest city of Europe. May is the busiest time in this city as Coimbra holds the ceremony of burning belts in big scope. This tradition originates from the Coimbra University. Students would end their courses of a whole academic year in this time every year. So they burn the belt of their colleges to celebrate the semester’s ending by this way. As a rule, the whole activity would last three days. In addition, July 4th in every year is decided the city day of Coimbra.

The night of Coimbra is colorful. A lot of public houses, coffee houses, art galleries and bookshops most of which are operated by students here become especially noisy and busy. When you are here, you may feel that here is just the heaven where there is full of happiness.

Honeymooning in Mexico

Mexico is known for its pristine waters, pure white sand beaches, perfect tropical temperatures, and rich culture. These are the reasons why many people choose to honeymoon in Mexico.

Whether you choose a Mexican honeymoon cruise or luxury resort, a Mexican honeymoon can be filled with romance. A growing trend is to plan a Mexican wedding as well. Through the services of a professional wedding planner, you can plan for a complete package. This package often includes the wedding service followed by a honeymoon. With some of the most popular resort locations in the world, Mexico offers a wide range of options for those who are looking for the perfect honeymoon destination.

A Mexican cruise is perfect for a wedding, as well as a honeymoon. You can plan for an adventurous and exciting luxury cruise ship wedding followed by your honeymoon. There are many advantages to a luxury cruise ship wedding, such as cost and ease of planning. The cruise ship may handle the wedding preparations, as well as the details. You can find different cruise ship weddings by contacting any of the large cruise ship lines. You will more than likely discover that the only downfall to a cruise ship wedding in Mexico is trying to persuade your friends and family members to join you for the wedding.

Choosing a honeymoon package in Mexico can consist of a cruise or a luxury resort. With so many wonderful places to choose from, it may be a difficult decision to make. You should carefully consider the advantages and disadvantages of each package to help make your decision easier. First choosing your honeymoon location may help make the decision easier. Considering what type of activities you would like to participate in during your honeymoon is the best way to make the perfect choice. You will also want to consider anything special attractions that you may wish to see.

Of course, no matter which type of honeymoon you plan, cost will play an important role in your decision. While examining costs, you may be surprised to find that there are number of affordable packages available for both cruise ships and luxury resorts. With price comparison, the use of the internet, and your local travel agent, you can find a package that will meet your budget and all of your honeymoon expectations.

Top honeymoon destinations, in Mexico, include Acapulco, Puerto Vallarta, Cozumel, Cancun, and Cabo San Lucas. Acapulco is one of Mexico’s top honeymoon locations. It is very similar to Hawaii with its beautiful beaches and turquoise blue waters. Puerto Vallarta is still one of the world’s top tourist attractions. Fortunately, it is also considered one of the lesser populated areas in Mexico. Puerto Vallarta can provide you with a wonderful environment for your honeymoon. With cultural events, fine dining, and the beautiful Sierra Madre Mountains, you are sure to enjoy your stay.

Another top honeymoon location is Cozumel. If you are looking for a secluded deserted island to spend with your new spouse, you should consider honeymooning in Cozumel. You may feel as if you are the only couple on the island. From Mayan ruins, to the majestic Nichupte Lagoon, Cozumel is a feast for the eyes.

As previously stated, selecting a honeymoon destination in Mexico may seem like a difficult decision. By taking the time to compare of all your options, including the cost of each, you are sure to find the best Mexican destination for your honeymoon.

Las Vegas: How to Have Non Gambling Related Fun

Last month, my wife, Anne Doe, took me to Las Vegas because she had to go for a business convention. Needless to say, she writes for an guide to casinos and I hate gambling. But then, she likes it and this supports us too, so I went along without any hassle. At first I was depressed, but then as I asked around and looked around, I ended up having more fun in Las Vegas than I would have thought. And no. I did not enter a single casino while I was there.

Entertainment:
One of the greatest things about Las Vegas, Reno and Atlantic City (but especially Las Vegas) is the number of shows that are available. You can get to watch top class comedians like Jay Leno, Jerry Seinfeld, Ray Romano, Tim Allen and even the likes of Bill Cosby and Chris Rock. If you are into music you can watch female singers like Celine Dion, Mariah Carey, Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera and Beyonc?, male performers like Phil Collins, Eric Clapton, Snoopy Dog and bands like Oasis and Bon Jovi. I could go on and on but the list is endless. If you are into magic you can watch magicians like David Copperfield do their thing meters from you. Whatever you like, you can find it here from Western music to oldies to Jazz, Rock, Heavy Mettle to Trance. All you have to do is look at the itenary offered during your visit.

Food:
Chinese to Japanese to Korean to Jewish and even Vegetarian and proper meat eating establishments await your every delight in Vegas. Do not opt for the cheap and oily fried dishes served for free while you play. Stop a while and take in the delightful scenery and smells of East Asian or European dishes. What is wondrous is that you get to see man’s ability to mix. A real melting pot if I may say so myself.

But is that all what casino cities like Las Vegas are about? Do you have to remain in the city to really and truly enjoy your stay?

No.

Here are some of the better attractions you must see on your visit to Vegas:

Hoover Dam and the Grand Canyon:
Book yourself a seat on any of the many sightseeing tours available and go and watch the architectural marvel that is Hoover Dam built over the Grand canyon which is also a grand sight to see by itself. Black Canyon is another must see as is Lake Mead which is so beautiful just because it is a body of water all surrounded by desert-like nature.

Colorado River:
While looking at the Dam and Canyon is from above, to see the true beauty of the river, you have to go down. The Colorado river is excellent for river-rafting and water sports, but you do not have to take part if it is not your thing. Instead just sit back and enjoy another of nature’s marvels.

Bonnie Springs:
Who can not resist going to one of the old towns like those in the Western gun slinging movies? Your destination needs to be Old Nevada. There you can delight in an old western town right in the middle of Red Rock Canyon. They host western shootouts too so come prepared, partner!

Conclusion:
I could go on and on about other attractions like the theme park in Circus Circus, the Gilcrease Nature Sanctuary, the Henderson Bird Viewing Preserve and Mt. Charleston but I think you get the picture. In Las Vegas and hate gambling? Do not despair. Just go out and have some clean un-gambling fun.

This article is about the Beijing Great Wall and Ming Tombs travel. You can find some useful information in it if you are booking your Beijing flights now. (you can get more New York,Los Angeles,San Francisco, Chicago flights and airfares info at Travel2ChinaInfo Dot COM)

Badaling Great Wall:

You can take the Line 919 bus to the Badaling Great Wall in Deshengmen. The cost is 12 rmb. This bus takes the high way and it only takes 50 minutes for the trip. “He who has never been to the Great Wall is not a true man.” Lots of travellers choose the Great Wall as the first priority for the Beijing travel. Usually, the Great Wall travel will take you 3 or 4 hours. If you wanna see the Ming Tombs too, there are some tips.

How to get to the Ming Tombs from the Badaling Great Wall?

There is a Line 919 bus (slow bus) station near the Zantianyou museum. This is the best place to take the bus to the Ming Tombs. Don’t take the yellow “Yinjian” bus. It is the unlicensed vehicle. The green and white bus is the real licensed city bus of Beijing. I once took a yellow “Yinjian” bus. They charged me 10 rmb (from Badaling Great Wall to Changpingxiguan) when I get on. I waited in the bus for half a hour and they were still waiting for other travellers in the bus station. I was getting angry and the driver finally started the engine. But they didn’t want to leave the Badaling Great Wall and the bus was still running in the Badaling Great Wall area. Maybe they were still waiting for more travellers to get on the bus. This is very common in China. These drivers are working for the private bus companies and they will not leave the bus station unless they get enough bus fares. I didn’t want to waste my time waiting in the bus and asked them to give my money back. They then dropped in another bus station. The station is about 20 minutes walk from the place I got on the bus! I had to walk back to the previous bus station. When I got on the real Line 919 bus, the bus fare is only 2 rmb (from Badaling Great Wall to Changpingxiguan). This is a horrible experience for me.(you can get more New York,Los Angeles,San Francisco, Chicago flights and airfares info at Travel2ChinaInfo Dot COM)

When you get off the Line 919 bus, there are 2 options to get to the Ming Tombs: (1). go east to the Zhengfujie Street and take the Line 314 bus or Changping Line 22 bus in the Changpingxiguan station. (2). go north to the Minghuanggong station and take the Line 22 bus. It is about 20 minutes drive from the Changpingxiguan station to the Ming Tombs. You will see the Shenlu in the way to the Ming Tombs.

In the slack season (11/01 to 03/31 of next year), the cost is: 40 rmb for Dingling Tomb, 30 rmb for Changling Tomb, 20 rmb for Zhaoling Tomb, 20 rmb for Shendao. In the peak season (04/01 to 10/31), the cost is: 60 rmb for Dingling Tomb, 45 rmb for Changling Tomb, 30 rmb for Zhaoling Tomb, 30 rmb for Shendao.(you can get more New York,Los Angeles,San Francisco, Chicago flights and airfares info at Travel2ChinaInfo Dot COM)

How to get back to Beijing from the Ming Tombs?

There are 2 options: (1). Take the Line 314 bus to the bus station named “Changpingdongguan”, then transfer to the Line 345 bus. The Line 345 bus can take you to the Deshenmeng West bus station. (2). Take the Line 22 bus to the station named “Chengpingxiguan”, then transfer to the Line 919 bus. The Line 919 bus can take you to the Deshengmen bus station.
