A couple years ago, I started sketching almost everyday while the Mrs. and I watched TV at night. The sketches were from reference pictures, either my own or some found online. They moved to more adult-themed sketches. Some in more detail and some more abstract, for lack of better term. My wife asked me to make one of them into a painting for her, “Entwined”. With Kalamazoo Pride a few months away, we thought it might be fun to try creating some to sell as prints at the craft fair that is part of the Pride celebration thus, “Entwined II” and “Entwined III”. They’re fun to do and will be in regular rotation of my sketches and paintings. Below are Entwined (11″x14″ watercolor), Entwined II (9″x12″, oil), and Entwined III (11″x14″, oil)

Turns out this page wasn’t dead but just taking a long nap. I’ve branched out to painting, sketching, and photography since we last talked. Cartoons just have not been happening although I may start those back up as way to get my thoughts out on on all of the bullshit going on in our world right now. We’ll see. The time has come to retire this site. I’ve haven’t posted in the last year and With little to no traffic pretty much its entire life and I think it has run its course. You will still be able to find my drawings on my Flickr page and will continue to place new drawings there.

8 O’Clock coffee said this in a Facebook post on January 9, 2015. It made me think that maybe my coffee looks as forward to seeing me in the morning as I look forward to it. I feel less addictive in the morning believing that. It’s just two good friends meeting each other in the morning.

Process for process’ sake is not good. This is not an original thought. I’ve run into some have been taken so long, milestones weren’t missed but run over by a Mac truck and left alongside the road with the rest of the roadkill. Processes are needed, absolutely. But a process that just puts a check in a box or to appease a needless layer of bureaucracy will kill a project. Knowing what to do is easy. Getting leadership and organizations to do it and change is not.

To Pee or Not To Pee…

I work on a floor in my building with roughly 100 to 125 people of which a good seventy-five percent are men. There seems to be a large proportion of that male population that has an aversion to urinals and instead prefers to do their business in the stalls. More specifically, on the toilet seats that reside in the stalls. I’m not sure if it’s passive aggression or just a bunch of clueless male engineers. Either way, I am now visiting other floors to surf on my phone. Their Delta Tau Chi name is ‘asshat’.
