Purebred rescues will be there with their breed of choice, plus come see what kinds of purebred dogs the Espanola Valley Humane Society and Santa Fe Animal Shelters have. And of course there will be some one-of-a-kind New Mexico mutts there too, so come on down and be prepared to put Westminster to shame!

Anyone who adopts a dog from Espanola Valley Humane, or submits an application to adopt from one of our rescue partners will receive a free bag of food courtesy of Purina ProPlan, a free checkup at VCA-Arrighetti Animal Hospital, a free nail trim courtesy of PetSmart and 3 half-day visits to Santa Fe Tails doggy daycare.

Eli


 

In January of 2012, Eli was a 10 week old Shih-tzu puppy with a broken hind leg.  He was surrendered by the owner who accidentally stepped on him. After paying $450 for him, the owner said he could not afford medical care too.  Lucky for Eli, Dr Ramsay at Cottonwood Vet Clinic did the fracture repair and he found a forever home almost as soon as he came out of surgery!

Concho

Concho is an adult male tabby who was looking for a place to get warm.  We suspect he got caught in a fan belt as he was brought in by Animal Control nearly “scalped” and also injured on his left front leg. We sutured him back together and nursed him back to health and marveled at what a WONDERFUL lap cat he was.  Not much later, he found a home after someone fell in love with him at our Barkin Boutique thrift store where he was lounging.

The toy drive will kick-off in conjunction with a pet adoption fair with the help of the kind folks at Beaver Toyota.

Adoptions and toy drop-offs can be done at Beaver Toyota on St. Michaels Drive in Santa Fe on Saturday May 19th, from 11am-4pm.

Anyone who drops off a toy on Saturday, May 19th will be entered into a drawing to win prizes from Beaver Toyota!

The dog and cat toy drive will run from May 19 to June 19 and drop-offs can be made at the Barkin’ Boutique in Santa Fe (on Pen Rd, next to Jinja) or at the shelter in Espanola.
