Its Time to Grow Up

I've been sitting here for 25 minutes trying to figure out a suitable title for this since I envisioned this to not only convey the emotions I felt that had been bottled up or rather those I now know I have to let go of. Let it be known that I am not trapped nor confined to/with anything for that matter but for the betterment and sanity of a few, I deemed it convenient to remain docile.

Looking at the grand scheme of life, we have always limited ourselves because we've always felt that if we ruffled any bad feathers we would be done for. I'm tired of treading down that path! Rather than my life becoming a meaningless replica of what was I've taken a step back and approached my outlook in an entirely different angle. This was not premeditated, it was forced. This was the only way I felt I could relinquish whatever power that was taken away from me - My smile - My positivity...

To be honest, at first I approached everything all wrong. I was angry. Angry with so many people around me (I'm being a tad dramatic here but exaggeration never fails). No one had stolen whatever power I speak of. Not even my smile nor my positivity. I allowed people who never deserved any of it. This was when I had this insightful conversation with someone who has always been around. Insightful is just an understatement.

I had been smiling, I had been laughing...

And when I usually laugh uncontrollably, I get this headache; only to realize I had been getting those headaches more often than before. Today was the day I realized I am now surrounded by funnier people.

Not to quote Jhene Aiko/Drake or anything (but I might as well) - I love me enough for the both of us.

You may think I'm trying to put forth some sudden disheartening realization but I'm not... I'm letting go of the "horrible" piece of me, that piece I've tried to hold on to for sometime since there were people I never wanted to let go of. People who I thought made me who I am. Boy was I wrong. You see, the root of all resolution is within thy self. Contrary to popular belief, you decide your fate, you allow people to disappoint you, you allow people in your life, you give people leverage... Its all you. I'm not saying this thing called life is controllable because matter of fact- Its not. (I'm trying not to venture into this popular saying "forgive and forget")

Embrace experiences and allow yourself to take the negative with the positive. On the other hand, there's so much beauty in life and its about time we all learn to embrace. Pessimists are only good for a while; the world doesn't need another one.

Not only did this revelation come at the right time, but i feel settled. And that's all I ever wanted... Inner peace... I'm not there yet but I am well on my way...

It hurts to let go of people but that's needed. Not everyone changes overnight no matter how much they post scriptures on Facebook or attended any church service...

New Year New What?

We're all saying goodbye to 2013. Some may say this was an emotionally tough year but I was grateful enough that 2013 did not take a toll on me as much as 2012 did. I was more than ready to put 2012 behind and move on.

Normally, we all proceed to reinvent ourselves for the New Year; New Year new body, new year new me etc... Personally, its just another day, another hour and another month. I'm not depressed if anyone is leaning unto that notion but I am probably just tired of all the commotion thats going around. On Christmas Eve going into Christmas, the Island was devastated by a surface trough. Christmas Eve night is a huge thing around here- folks drink till they drop, party all night long, go to "Jouvert" (daybreak- Translation). My point is- this was a disaster waiting to happen if this weather had started 2 hours later than it did...

So; whats my New Year New What? I say, New year New Success!
Currently beginning to plan my study schedule for my Step 1 board Exams...

Every year I get absolutely excited for summer because Big brother is finally going to be back. This year proved to be no exception. I followed most Big Brother blogs for spoilers on who would be in the house and the new twist for this year. ALAS! Big Brother Royalty, Rachel Reilly's sister would be a houseguest in one of the biggest cast ever to hit the franchise. NOW I ABSOLUTELY LOVE/ADORE Rachel! She is my favourite BIG BROTHER PLAYER EVER! Even on Big Brother 12 I really could not understand all the Rachel Hate... And I did follow the live feeds here and there when I was not busy at all... She came back to win Big Brother 13 (Very deserving might I add). Lots of backlash to that but Production knew RACHEL REILLY WAS VEGAS AND WAS THE SHOW that season!

The Cast had finally been released and I remember my friend and I commenting on this had to be the best looking cast of big brother ever. I guess with good looking people comes a ton of scandals and bad coverage for the show. Minus Andy and Spencer which i couldn't care less about (up to a day like today).

Aaryn Gries plagued the show with her racism. CBS' Disclaimer at the beginning of every episode is a reminder of that - WE ALL SHOULD THANK AARYN FOR THIS!

Amanda Zuckerman has been pretty vile and disgusting herself. There have been lots of claims by HGs about her being on lots of psych meds and even admitting to once being a cocaine addict right before the show (So Says GinaMarie)...

Ginamarie Zimmerman... - The Stage 10 Clinger and Grade A stalker and our 2nd Big brother 15 all time racist. This girl has definitely had her ups and downs- She is funny and Ive had the most mixed emotions when it comes to her... I have pretty much Nothing to say about Andy and Spencer- the biggest floaters of the game and 2 pretty disgusting human beings at that... May I add, they're pretty obsessed with Elissa!

My Favs this season: Elissa Reilly-Slater and a bit of Jessie (Although I thought she was boring majority of the show). Elissa maintained her fanbase throughout the show. She stayed true to herself!

Down to the final 5 players (Not important to mention)
but i can now say what was once my summer obsession... ISNT anymore.

Looking forward to Big brother 16- (which should be called Redemption) cause CBS BIG BROTHER needs to redeem itself from such an atrocious season.

I once said Ali Fedotowsky was my fav Bachelorette, choosing the hunky Roberto but now its only splitsville.. Ali tweeted & Facebooked it on the last day of November 2011. So now, an Ali Roberto wedding in 2012 is no longer a possibility. In a nutshell, it sounds like Roberto's more of a home body and Ali likes to go out and socialize with friends.

20 Ways to save on home expenses

1. Stop using the dryer (except for emergencies) go back to line drying your clothes and sheets. They smell better and save on gas or electric.

2. Green clean your home; most cleaning agents have vinegar, ammonia, baking soda, borax, salt, lemon juice in them. Funny, those are the same things that grandma and great-grandma used to use!

3. Don't use a dishwasher, hand wash dishes. It takes less time and energy.

4. Use water saver faucets, toilets and shower heads.

5. Plug all of your appliances into energy saver power strips. Turn them off when not in use so the currant ceases and you save on energy costs.

6. Wash your clothes in cold water

7. Check your home for air leakage, such as weather stripping, caulking, insulation etc.

8. Use LCD or halogen light bulbs to help give off more light with less energy use.

9. Plant trees to help to shade your home and keep the sun off of the roof in the summer (overheating your home and using more AC), to save on energy consumption.

10. Plant bushes around your air conditioner in order to keep the heat of the day off of it.

11. Use rags to clean things up, wash floors etc. instead of paper toweling. Then simply wash them when they are dirty.

12. Don't waste money on aluminum foil and plastic wrap. Use the stretch covers to cover bowls. Shower caps work best for 9x13 pans and roasters.

13. If you have a freezer besides the one in your refrigerator, simply fill the freezer in the refrigerator with the food that you will use in one weeks time. It will save on opening and closing the freezer door and wasting energy.

14. Check all the washers etc. for in faucets to make sure that there isn't any leakage and water dripping. Don't forget the outside faucets.

15. Take a paper bag lunch to work and have a picnic outside, instead of eating out or the company cafeteria.

16.Purchase used books instead of new and sell your old ones or trade them in and get credit towards your next purchase.

17.Tape movies that you don't have time to watch for nights when there is 'nothing' on TV.

18.Eliminate the premium channels if you have direct tv or cable.

19. Use battery operated clocks instead of electric.

20.Get rid of all of your credit cards except one for emergencies.

My Generation followed the lives of nine high school gradates who live in Austin, Texas. Their lives were filmed during a documentary and 10 years after they graduated they cameras came back to see where the graduates were in their lives. While the idea was great on paper, it seems like the show wasn’t attracting an audience. I found it interesting and certainly plausible since we all don’t turn out the way we planed after high school. The character I was most eager to see was Brenda. She was labeled “The Brain”

Who I Am?Wow. That’s certainly a heavy question. Who am I? I guess the thing that defines me most is my work. I’m currently living in Washington DC and working with a Congressman. We are pushing a banking regulation bill. I never really thought of myself as a political person before college, but as I’ve gotten older it’s become more important to me to try and make a difference. So much is changing in the world right now and I want to be a part of it. I guess you could say I’m dedicated, but I miss my family back in Austin, especially my sister Mary. Family is definitely something that is a big part of who I am. It’s a difficult trade off being so far away from them, but my success is their success. At least I hope that’s what they think. But if my parents and my sister were not supportive then I definitely wouldn’t be here now. Yeah… Work and family… That sounds about right.

The first episode of My Generation aired with only 3.9 million viewers tuning in. The show held the 8 p.m. Time slot on Thursdays, right before “Grey’s Anatomy.” The show’s second week featured nearly a 30 percent drop from the first episode. I wondered why couldn’t ABC just give it a month chance?

I got so hooked AND I totally Love Grey’s anatomy reruns but this Thursday, just seeing a rerun made me sulk!

90210 Season 3's Drama!

I finally got my dose of 90210 since everything goes on a Monday night.

The issues the producers decided to tackle boggles my mind. The Gay issue ( I am honestly tired of all shows treading down that line… Desperate housewives, gossip girl, NOW WE HAVE TRUE BLOOD). Indeed it is a Hot topic … The hottest of 2010 but we honestly don’t need it shoved in our face 24/7. So Teddy might be Homosexual… Also it really annoyed me that Dixon now has to face the possibility of being HIV Positive. Whatever happened to safe sex?

I am now skeptical! I am no longer sure if i will be an avid viewer anymore. Maybe these issues are realistic but they are pretty serious ones to tackle. Naomi is dealing with being raped by her teacher (who she once falsely accused of raping her). This right here is a sticky situation because she once lied about the rape issue then he goes on to actually do it. How can you persuade people to believe you were actually raped when you initially lied about it.

I am yet to see how the storylines unfold. Hopefully;

Dixon is not HIV positive…

And Naomi… I havent decided what fate will be most reasonable for her…

As for Annie and Liam… I hate beating around the bush and going in circles for 3 whole seasons… JUST GET THEM TOGETHER ASAP!

According to TMZ, Bruno Mars was arrested in Las Vegas over the weekend after security confronted him in a bathroom at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino. They “allegedly” found 2.6 grams of coke on him..
