Sorry for the lack of posts this week; we’re in the Philippines fucking around.

And by “fucking around” we mean going out, working and checking out some of the baddest rides on the planet (kind of like what we do on Tuesdays in the States).

For today’s installment of DREAM GARAGE, we’re proud to introduce you to Car Porn Racing’s RWB 993 called “Victoria” (formerly a subdued 1994 Porsche Carrera 2).

“Victoria” is the first RWB on airbags and the first of its kind in the Philippines.  Oh and it’s the first one in bad-ass-ultra-luxury purple.

It belongs to our good friend Ian King, owner and founder of Car Porn Racing who specializes in wide body conversions, V8 conversions, Air Suspension and RWB Porsches.

(He’s also known as The Drift King here, but we’ll save that for another article…)

Ian’s a pretty busy dude and the equivalent of Lapo Elkiann here in the Philippines, so we were fortunate to get a few minutes of his time for an interview:

What made you decide to get an RWB Porsche?

It actually all happened so fast; I didn’t really have plans to get an RWB for myself, but so many great opportunities and being at the right place at the right time helped seal the deal for me.

I first took notice of RWB last year when it was brought up in a conversation between my friends Kim and PV (PV had wanted to get a porsche and convert it into an RWB).

Back then I wasn’t too knowledgeable about RWB but PV needed a shop to get it done, so I told him he could use my shop to help build the car.

At about the same time our friend Mark Arcenal (from Fat Lace) in the US had already built his RWB so we decided to reach out to him and ask questions on the process.

Mark told us to come up to SEMA in Las Vegas last November to see their cars at the show.  Since I had never been to SEMA, I accepted the invite and headed up to Vegas to see the show.

When I arrived at SEMA Mark sent me a message to meet up with them for dinner to introduce me to Nakai and Toshi from RWB.

At this point, I had been obsessively reading and researching about RWB and Nakai-san (the man behind RWB).  Based on what I read, I was amazed at the quality of his work and how he has become a global icon for his signature RWB P-cars.

I felt deeply connected to the style he envisioned because I became a big fan of the aggressiveness and presence of the RWB cars. It also became painstakingly obvious to me that RWB was going to find a home at Car Porn Racing and I needed my own RWB to set the benchmark of what RWB Porsches from my car shop would be styled like.

What happened from the time you decided to get an RWB for yourself to the time Nakai came to build your car?

When Nakai mentioned he wanted to visit manila I told them to come down and we would put them up in our suite rooms in Victoria Court.

They came through around mid-February and we had a great time showing them around.  By that time we also told them we were serious on getting our car (and partnership) done and wanted to know more about the process of it all.  For the most part, they just let us know that we had to wait.

After a month and a half, we received a schedule on when Nakai was available to visit us to work on the cars. Unfortunately, when you’re as excited as me, 1-2 months is a long time to wait for something to happen.  Once we were privy to Nakai’s busy schedule we quickly understand that waiting was simply a part of the process.

We love the purple.  What made you decide to go with this color?

Honestly, I wasn’t a fan of the color in the beginning, but my step mom, my wife, my in-laws and my cousin all convinced me to stick with it and I’m glad I did!

As soon as I saw the gold Meisters against the Armeth purple I was blown away!

I’m glad I kept the color because its got such a unique look!

What was it like to work with Nakai-San?

The man is a perfectionist.

He measures down to the last cm, and I kid you not, he will take an angle grinder or hammer to your car if it’s not to his liking (and he won’t ask you first if he can or can’t do it).

His meticulous nature and hands-on approach makes everyone around him admire how he works and from the moment he starts working, you can tell he is a master of the air-cooled Porsche.

In fact, as someone was cutting the sheet metal on one of the cars he warned him about a second panel without even looking!

What are all the upgrades that are in the car now?  What are future upgrades you are planning to do?

Victoria is pretty much stock now except for the Stoptech Big Brake Kit, AirRex Air Struts and Accuair Air Management (which we sell at Car Porn Racing).

Our plans are still quite a long way from being done.  I’m planning to shoe-horn a 525 hp V8 into the car from the GM Crate engine department and bolt up a manual g50 transmission with a 2 way LSD.  I also have all the Tarett and Elephant mono ball arms ready.

Once all that is done, I’m planning to track the car to set some lap times down and hopefully get to drift it!

How does it feel to own your very own RWB?

It really hasn’t set in yet, but it’s such an honor to know that RWB Manila is real, Victoria is Real and we’re here to represent the ROUGH World Style.

Is that even a question?  I have the 2-way carbonetic LSD’s sitting in my desk.

To be honest, when we first saw the original images of the car, we weren’t really feeling the purple:

But after seeing the finished product, we’re glad Ian stuck with it.

If you are one of the fortunate few to see this car in person we’re pretty sure you’d be in love with Victoria as much as we are (hoping to open up all her secrets in the process).

There’s a little bit of a disco battle going on right now.

For anyone that loves to ride motorcycles, you know that nothing beats the feeling of riding your bike through open roads.

The downside?  Having to carry all your shit around with you.

For those of us that want to take long rides with a lot of gear, we’ve got a few options – saddles or bags that sit on your bike (which is a good option for cruisers) or a backpack.

For today’s article, we’re going to talk about a killer, affordable and – gasp – a no drag backpack from Ogio called the “No Drag Mach 5″.

Patrick, a new rider and friend of ESM introduced us to the backpack last week and has been raving about it every day since he’s had it.

Why do we value his opinion?  Probably because he puts our obsessive compulsive behavior to shame.

When he first go into photography, he became an expert on his camera in two weeks.  When he got his first dog, he had been  incessantly researching day and night for two months before pulling the trigger.  Now, with his new Harley, he’s already put over a 1,000 miles on his bike within his first week of ownership.

Here’s his feedback on the Ogio No Drag Mach 5:

These guys really did it right.

They thought of pretty much everything you would want in a motorbike-specific backpack.  Compartments are very well thought out – designed specifically for a 17-in Macbook, i-Pad, i-Phone (or their android counterparts), individual shoe-straps, a mesh elastic-divider to hold back clothing and even an internal visor-shield holder – this works perfect for riders like me who have to change to a separate shield for night time driving.

The main compartment space is just right for a day’s ride in the canyons or an overnight stay, stash of clothes.  It’s surrounded on the outside by a faux-carbon fiber fabric shell – which is totally solid, streamlined and contours perfectly with your spine (even if you wear back-armour, it has a recess designed specifically for this purpose).  Not to mention the fact that it looks uber-cool and so stylish, people just stop and stare.

All of the zippers and hidden pockets are located on the backside of the pack, which is flush against your back, which you can only access if you take the pack off.

It is called a “no drag” backpack….and it does feel like there is NO DRAG when riding at speed.   The shoulder straps are even contoured specifically for the riding position, arms forward – no “pulling” feeling when crouched and in the flexed-forward riding stance.

Even all the adjustment straps have elastic loops to tie up any “post-adjustment strap slack.” – very smart of them.

One also very cool feature it is that at the top of the pack, on the exterior, there is a concealed handle wrapped in suede.  Very, very trick.

Is it worth the entry price of $160?  Absolutely.

All in all – I highly recommend this backpack for any motorcyclist.

We had a chance to check out the backpack for ourselves and it is a pretty cool design.  It even has a strap to hang your helmet on while you’re out and about.

Hadleigns Men’s Slippers. Just in time for summer. And Father’s Day.

Just a reminder gentlemen – Father’s Day is just around the corner.

And if you’re the type of lucky fellow who derives his sense of style from his dad, we’ve got a great suggestion for this year’s Father’s Day gift: a new pair of Hadleigh’s Men’s Slippers.

In honor of today being… uh.. Friday and the fact the folks from RSD sent us some free swag (woot!) we’d like to do a feature on one of the baddest concepts in recent memory – the RSD BMW Concept 90.

According to the official Roland Sands Design site, “This year is the 90th anniversary of BMW Motorrad and the 40th anniversary of the R 90 S. This bike pays homage to the Daytona Orange boxer from the Seventies.”

It was recently unveiled at the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este in Lake Como, Italy and if we were to guess, the folks at the show were pretty impressed.

As many of you already know, we’re big fans of things that look old school on the outside but have all the new parts on the inside (you know, like the Eagle Speedster).

These types of builds have a classic look but they also do some really cool things, like… start.

With a top speed of just under 200 km/h, the BMW R 90 S was one of the fastest serial production motorcycles of its time. It was the first time a designer had created the perfect combination of form and function in a motorcycle development process. Its basic proportions are clearly geared towards the original: the faring, fuel tank and rear section instantly reveal the bike’s kinship with the BMW R 90 S. The BMW Concept Ninety also echoes the separation of the motorcycle’s proportions which was typical at the time: the trim is visually distinct from the black engine and chassis sections. While halogen reflected the technological state of the art in the original machine, cutting-edge LED lighting elements give the BMW Concept Ninety its face today.

You know what would also be totally rad?  If BMW and RSD actually built and sold copies of this bad boy.

If you’re wondering where the hell we’ve been for the past few days, you need to look no further than today’s article.

We spent the last 5 days chilling at the Moana Surfrider in Honolulu, Hawaii.

We’ve been to Honolulu before, but we can now say we have found the best hotel in the city.

Here’s why:

• It’s right on the beach (not having a beach right in front of your hotel is no bueno in Hawaii)
• It’s got a lot of history (it’s the oldest hotel in Honolulu)
• The Moana Surfrider gives you the quintessential Hawaiian experience (just check the pictures)
• It’s walking distance to all the shops and stores in the area (if you want to get your high-end shopping fix on)
• The service is amazing

Actually, we can probably go on and on about this hotel, especially since we’re still coming back on a vacation high.

Our only complaint?  The regular rooms are a bit small, but knowing the hotel has been there since 1901 gives you a little perspective on it all.

But before you go and book yourself a room at this hotel, we’ve got a little bit of advice:

• Book early
• To make the most out of your Hawaiian vacation, try to stay there for at least 4 or 5 days
• Try surfing and paddleboarding (you can rent a surfboard next door for $15 and a paddleboard for $25)
• Lose like 20 lbs. before you go (because you will be gaining it all back)
• Try to take a day trip to the North Shore (shrimp trucks and Matsumoto shaved ice, bro!)
• Prepare to do a little shopping (sales tax is only 4.5%)

To be honest, we loved the Moana Surfrider so much, my wife and I declared this most recent trip one of our top 3 vacations of all time (where the last Honolulu trip wasn’t even in the top 10).

Remember when we said “Friday was for amateurs“?

Well it’s Friday.  We went big last night.  And we’re hurting big time.

But as with other consummate professionals, we’re here bringing you some cool shit to check out despite our hangover.

For today, we’re featuring this killer Nightrod custom build by the folks over at Roland Sands Design.

Well, sometimes you just want a little more power. The customer that we built this bike for is used to a LOT more power, NHRA power. So, we decided we would step this V-rod’s game with a Trask Turbo and a full-body makeover. The bolt-on 160HP turbo system with Zipper’s Performance auto-tune computer, brought the V-rod from a road rumbler to a road ripper. The rear of the bike was cut and corrective fabrication was applied. We built a single-sided swingarm, new sub-frame, topped that with a handcrafted tail section while flanking the sides with aluminum panels that blend into a carbon fiber front cowling. Fuel was relocated to the belly pan for low CG. Custom made billet triple clamps and Ohlins Road & Track forks and TTX shock with linkage keep her Dunlop tires planted at speed. As mentioned before, we utilized our new digital iPhone gauge which comes included with the free RSD App. It has a GPS speedometer mode but we opted to link the iPhone to the bike’s computer using an interface from Gaugeface. We secured the phone to the bike using a Rokform case and RSD-modified Rokform mount. We can now see all the necessary engine vitals and stay charged at the same time. This bike is equally at home on a drag strip as it is on the sunset strip.

Just make sure you don’t ride and text at the same time if you have a bike like this.

Our favorite features of the build are the carbon fiber pieces as well as how badass that back wheel looks with a single sided swingarm.

And we’re not ashamed to admit we’re just a little scared of the 160HP turbo.

We’ve known Jennifer (SMMcastGirl) for quite some time now. She’s actually the person who introduced Luigi to P90X from the Becoming Bond article series.

For today’s installment of YOUR WEEKLY FIX: Style advice from a beautiful woman, we have social media producer and YouTube personality, Jennifer, a.k.a. SMMcastGirl.

Jennifer graduated from Shippensburg University in 2003 with a degree in Communications/Journalism and a year later, moved out to Los Angeles and never looked back.

Originally from Allentown, PA, Jennifer has made a career for herself as a social media producer currently working for Beachbody based in Santa Monica. Beachbody is known for their home fitness products such as Tony Horton’s P90X and Shaun T’s Insanity.

Not only does Jennifer work at Beachbody, but she has done many of the programs including P90X, Insanity, TurboFire, RevAbs, Beachbody Ultimate Reset, Focus T25, P90X2, Body Beast and many more.

Men should wear whatever makes them feel confident and comfortable.

However, I have a few “no-no’s”: no gold chains, no sandals with socks and no sandals without getting a pedicure first.

What is the truly perfect accessory to every outfit?

Your dog!

You can never go wrong with your best bud by your side to attract some female attention. I absolutely love dogs and is a great conversation starter for ladies who also love animals.

Quite honestly, sometimes we think the Gran Coupe was the original design for the 650i because it just seems more of a natural fit.

Don’t want to rub this in to our East Coast readers, but…

I’ve spent the last week surfing my brains out.

The weather here in California has been pretty amazing; there are some guys that are in the water wearing just board shorts already.

So having ocean water in my brain, I was inspired to feature a new brand that reached out to us in April called “Faherty Brand”.

We’re big fans of old school beach style from the 50′s and 60′s, so their clothing hit a sweet spot in our minds when we think about clothes to wear for the summer.

One of our favorite pieces is their Classic Boardshort:

If you actually do stuff at the beach, like play volleyball or surf, these shorts are great because:

• They are above the knee (so they don’t snag when you’re doing a fat off-the-lip snap)
• Have a hidden back pocket (to store your ID and credit card to buy drinks for the ladies)
• A button fly (so your shorts don’t have a weird shape near your man-bits)
• A “comfort knit strip” to prevent chaffing (all the surfers out there say “amen”)
