The library is so quiet and empty this morning. People are still in class and taking exams. We have a test coming up on Monday and I am just hanging out in the library, sucking in some silence and gathering my thoughts together while sipping on some coffee. I enjoy my time spent in the library. I always joke about how it is my home more than my actual apartment. All that is missing here is a bed with my name on it (that’s how much I stick around).

I finally ordered my internet and should be able to blog more often from now on. I just get so caught up with school work that I can’t think of anything else. I have so many stories and photos to share with you guys! It’s just a matter of getting everything together. I will get better at this, I promise.

Anyway, time for me to go back to my books.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Tagged by Jasmine at Rabbit Wood.

1:: How many hours a week do you spend writing/editing posts?

It all depends on what topic I am covering that day. What usually takes me the most of my time is editing the photos used. I would say that my overall daily time varies between 30 minutes and an hour.

2:: Are you a spender or a saver?

I am more of a saver. I only spend when I really want/need something but otherwise I am pretty good at restraining myself from unnecessary purchases.

3:: When is it easier for you to blog?

I feel more comfortable blogging in the morning, when my head is still fresh and I feel ready to start the day. I don’t know, it relaxes me.

4:: What makes writing behind a computer comfortable for you?

I love the idea that I can express myself without feeling the judging eyes on me. I don’t mind my blog being read once it’s published but I just need to be on my own while I am working on a new post. Strangely enough, I don’t feel as awkward writing my posts if I am sitting nearby a fellow blogger, because I know they understand me.

5:: What is your worst make up/hair habit?

You know how they say that you should brush your hair before going to bed? Well I almost never do it. Then in the morning my hair is all tangled up and it is a pain to get it untangled. Oh and I sometimes forget to moisturize and to exfoliate my skin (oops!).

6:: What is one quote you wish the world lived by?

7:: How long do you spend getting ready every day?

It takes me about 15 minutes to get ready everyday. If i take longer than that it must be that I am straightening my hair.

8:: Who’s your favourite blogger?

I actually have many blog crushes. I love reading Rosie @ The Londoner, Garance Dore and Smitten Kitchen on a daily basis.

9:: Who is a blogger that you think deserves more subscribers than they have?

I would say

Jasmine @ Rabbit Wood - she takes gorgeous photographs and has always interesting things to share.

Helene @ Crying Forest – again great daily stories and she offers free goodies!

Tom @ My World In Crisis – he shares his love/dating stories from a boy’s perspective and they are really funny!

10:: What is one thing you are excited about in the upcoming year?

There are more than one things that I am excited about:

I am excited about all the Lab techniques I will learn

I cannot wait for this academic year to finish so that I can begin on my internship.

I cannot wait for November to be here, because Vivi will be coming for two weeks from Sweden!

Really looking forward to Thanksgiving this year

11:: What is your most awkward blogging moment?

I don’t know if I ever had one…

12:: How long does it take for you to prep a post?

Depends again on what I am going to talk about. So just refer to question #1.

13:: Are you wearing trousers right now or jogging pants/PJ bottoms?

I am actually wearing my Zara leggings. They are dressy and comfy at the same time. Just love them!

14:: What are you most proud of in your life?

My family – they just rock

The person I am becoming every day

My educational accomplishments

My friends and who they are becoming

The values I am acquiring every day

I would like to tag Helene, Rosie, Diane, Bea

Labor day is now over and it is time to get back to the regular weekly routine. I must say that it was a good long weekend. I didn’t realize how much I actually needed a real break (after two weeks of intense lectures and exams) until this past weekend. I took upon the opportunity to escape to Oklahoma and visit with my girlfriends Jacki and Natsumi. Eating good food and shopping were the main occupations for us, besides a Saturday night out at the new club “Social” in Bricktown, OKC. I actually knew this club back when it used to be “Rock Bar” but was pleased with the lift it got. I am not sure if the management changed or if they just decided to give a new image to the club, but either way, Social is a great place to go party, if you are into that kind of thing. The DJ was great. By the end of the night my feet were aching from all the dancing but I didn’t regret a bit of it.

Natsumi and I had a lunch date on Sunday, and we headed to Zorba’s. It was a really delicious Greek restaurant and their peta bread! just delicious! The service and the location were great too, we had zero complains by the end of our meal. We ordered a gyro plate as well as a humus plate and shared it. It was way too much for both of us but we couldn’t stop eating. Seriously, if you happen to go to Oklahoma City and you love mediterranean food, please go to Zorba’s. They are opened from Monday until Sunday.

Shopping wise, I couldn’t resist the Calvin Klein flats which remind me so much of the Chanel ones. They are very comfortable and made out of leather, which adds up to their beauty. I will probably need to get a second pair of flats so as not to overwear these. I also spotted a box of English tea (The London Cuppa) and had to try it. It is very robust and full of flavor which I love. Natsumi and I also went to the Asian market where I got a few seaweed snacks.

Yesterday, I was already back in Fort Worth and got to catch up on school reading as well as cook for the week. On the menu: baked shrimp with vegetables on the bed of rice. Also, I made some banana fake ice cream with Nutella and it was to die for!

All and all it was a good long weekend.

How did you celebrate your Labor day weekend? If you don’t have a Labor day weekend, how was your weekend? Did anything special?

The delay was due to many factors among which was the beginning of my Graduate School life and also me not having a computer. When I left Cameroon, I gifted my laptop to my mom who just needed something she could use to read online journals and to Skype with me and the rest of the family. Now I have a new computer, so things should get better in the next couple of days/weeks. I am happy to say that I have survived the first week of graduate school! Of course I will write a more detailed post on that next time. Until I am through with my first Biochem exam next week, I ask you to be patient.

Tomorrow I will be back in Fort Worth, Texas. I really cannot believe it. My sabbatical year is officially over as of today. I cannot be more excited about the new adventures that await me in the US, as well as I cannot believe I will be seeing my friends in a few days! I can already smell Starbucks coffee, or taste the yumminess of the Taco soup. Of course, as all departures are concerned, today feels bittersweet. On one hand, I will finally get to advance my career and see more of the world, and on the other hand, I will be leaving my family and childhood friends behind. But I know it’s just a goodbye…

Until I am back with new tales of my life, enjoy these shots from last year of downtown Fort Worth and don’t forget to check the archive for any posts you might have missed!
