Nuestro planeta es un superorganismo, quizás un megasistema de sistemas vivos y dinámicos que interactúan entre sí posibilitando la vida. Las plantas son ecológicamente hablando los sustentadores de nuestra atmósfera habitable, los llamados "Pulmones de la Tierra", y uno de los grupos de seres vivos más presentes a la vez que ignorados por la raza humana.

Cualquier organismo posee la capacidad de defenderse, capacidad que en ocasiones es a su vez todo un sistema de defensa contra amenazas concretas o variadas. Algunos pican o pinchan, otros envenenan e inyectan, algunos corren y otros se enrollan o fingen estar muertos, muchos se mimetizan con el entorno y no pocos se entierran...en fin, estrategias que pueden ser defensivas pasivas o activas. Las plantas no son una excepción en este sentido. Casi todos hemos comprobado el poder de una ortiga, las espinas de una rosa, las púas de las palmeras, los castañazos, etc; mecanismos de defensa que ahuyentan a multitud de acechadores indeseados. Pero...¿qué pasaría si las plantas desarrollasen un sistema defensivo letal para los humanos de manera específica?, ¿qué ocurriría si lanzaran millones de esporas al aire con el fin de exterminarnos como amenaza para su desarrollo vital? Pues bien, El Incidente va precisamente de eso mismo.

Contrariamente a las críticas que se han vertido sobre esta película, he de decir que la idea que propone M. Night Shyamalan, tanto visual como argumentalmente hablando, recuerda a sus mejores trabajos. Sin embargo, creo que el desarrollo de la historia, un casting poco acertado y algunos elementos de guión innecesariamente inverosímiles le restan cierta calidad y atractivo.

Cabe destacar que siendo una buena propuesta, específicamente hay elementos un tanto discordantes con la melodía argumental, si ustedes me permiten la metáfora. Como por ejemplo en la forma en que las personas se ven afectadas por el "ataque vegetal": es demasiado enrevesado y forzado, y como he comentado increíble para mi gusto, sobre todo si lo comparamos con el resto de elementos del guión de M.N. Shyamalan.

He de suponer que debido a los últimos fiascos en taquilla del director, el casting fue como fue y punto, y tal vez se pudo dar con un canto en los dientes, no obstante, yo hubiera preferido a intérpretes menos conocidos y habilidosos en detrimento de la inexpresiva Zooey Deschanel y el insulso Mark Walhberg...tan sólo Leguizamo es salvable.

Resumiendo, El Incidente no es una película ni mucho menos excelente, pero considero que su idea es brillante, digna de un desarrollo más profundo y razonable, una idea que no tiene porque estar tan alejada de la realidad. Aunque algunos ven un claro mensaje ecologista (en estos tiempos quién es el que no los vende y los percibe), lo cierto es que la ciencia ficción gana por goleada y consigue propagar su germen a los amantes del género.

THE PLANT KINGDOM

Our planet is a superorganism, perhaps a megasystem living and dynamic systems interacting enabling life. The plants are ecologically the supporters of our atmosphere, called "lungs of the Earth", and one of the groups of living things present while ignored by the human race.
Any body has the ability to defend themselves, sometimes capacity is itself a system of defense against specific threats or varied. Some bite or puncture, other poison and inject, some running and others are rolled or pretend to be dead, many blend in with the environment and not a few are buried ... well, defensive strategies that can be passive or active. Plants are no exception in this regard. Almost everyone has proven the power of a nettle, the thorns of a rose, the tines of the palms, Slap, etc; defense mechanisms to many unwanted stalkers. But ... what if the plants develope defensive lethal systems to humans specifically, what does happen if launched millions of spores into the air in order to destroy us as a threat to its vital development? Well, the incident is precisely the same thing.
Contrary to the criticisms that have been made about this film, I must say that the idea proposed by M. Night Shyamalan, both visually and argument, it is reminiscent of his best work. However, I believe that the development of history, an unwise casting and script elements detract unnecessarily implausible certain quality and attractive after all.

Note that being a good porpuse, specifically are somewhat discordant elements to the tune of argument, if you will allow me the metaphor. Like for example in how people are affected by the "attack plant" is too convoluted and forced, and as I said amazing for my taste, especially when compared with the rest of the script elements.
I can only assume that due to recent box office duds director, the casting was as it was and point, and perhaps could be given with a song in the teeth, however I would have preferred a less known and skilled interpreters at the expense of blank Zooey Deschanel and Mark Wahlberg ... tasteless Leguizamo is only salvageable.
In short, The Incident is not a movie, much less excellent, but I think his idea is brilliant, worthy of a more thorough and reasonable, an idea that does not have to be so far from reality. While some see a clear environmental message (in these times who it is that does not sell and perceived), the fact is that science fiction goalscorers and gets spread their seed to fans of the genre.

"Elegidos para la gloria _ The right Stuff (1983)" La dedocracia versus la meritocracia académica

La historia a veces depara sorpresas para los que la analizan a posteriori, sin embargo para aquellos que les toca vivirla en el presente la sorpresa es simple y llanamente un día más del calendario. El Proyecto Mercury pudo haber sido un pufo, una de las mayores meteduras de pata de la historia debido al afán de superar a la URSS en la carrera tecnológica. A medida que los rusos superaban a los americanos lanzando el primer satélite y al primer hombre al espacio, los americanos a base de mucho esfuerzo (y algún que otro sin sentido) y con las probabilidades a su favor (esto lo sabemos a toro pasado) iban gestando lo que iba a culminar con la huella de Armstrong, Aldrin y Collins en la superficie lunar.

Antes de todo ello, los hombres jugaban a forzar la maquinaria voladora aumentando la velocidad de los aviones y estimando de qué manera podrían sobrepasar la barrera del sonido o velocidad supersónica. Charles Elwood Yeager fue el primer hombre en atravesar oficialmente la barrera del sonido, el 14 de octubre de 1947, volando con el avión experimental Bell X-1, esta gesta se puede considerar un paralelismo de lo que el Proyecto Mercury buscaba: sobrepasar un límite. Y es aquí donde Elegidos para la Gloria incide más a mi modo de ver. Primero establece ese paralelismo entre ambas metas para después volcarse en el lado más humano. Yeager fue rechazado para la carrera espacial por no tener carrera universitaria aún habiendo demostrado capacidades físicas innatas para poder enfrentarse a semejante reto. Digamos que quedó fuera de las oposiciones a astronauta por no cumplir con uno de los requisitos impuesto desde la NASA, en fin, seguro que os suena. Dejando de lado esta injusticia con los pilotos menos preparados académicamente la NASA tuvo las probabilidades a su favor y eligió a pilotos (marines y fuerzas aéreas) más preparados según su baremo para que llevarán a cabo el Proyecto Mercury de manera exitosa.

La película de Kaufman basada en el libro de Tom Wolfe aunque demasiado larga, es capaz de dar una lección de historia sin ser demasiado "sentimentaloide" ni políticamente correcta. Las interpretaciones están a un nivel notable y la dirección está cuidada y se esmera en mostrar los por menores y deleites del viaje orbital. La banda sonora de Conti es excelente y el guión del propio Kaufman aguanta bastante bien, como el panel térmico de la Mercury Atlas 6. Resumiendo, se trata de una notable película sobre la incipiente puesta en marcha de la carrera espacial en el mundo, centrada sobre todo en los EE.UU y mostrando el lado humano de los que tuvieron la oportunidad de ser parte activa y pasiva de ese pequeño paso para el hombre...

Conti's soundtrack is excellent and the script by Kaufman holds quite well, as the thermal panel of Mercury Atlas 6. In short, this is a remarkable film about the incipient launch of the space race in the world, centered mostly in the U.S. and showing the human side of those who had the opportunity to be part of the active and passive small step for man ...

Las personas vuelven de la guerra y parece que traigan consigo una nueva personalidad estrechamente relacionada a nuevos miedos y traumas. No todos parecen preparados para volver al remanso de paz en el que vivían y para volverse a calzar las botas de aquella persona que en otro tiempo meditaba sobre lo superfluo y lo trivial. En cierta medida es el caso de Ethan Edwards, pero sólo en cierta medida, porque Ethan no tiene tiempo de probarse así mismo tras la guerra de Secesión y ha de volver a la caza, a la lucha, al odio. Yo creo que este personaje bien podría reflejar a cualquiera que hubiera perdido gran parte de su vida amando a la mujer de otro y luchando para caer finalmente derrotado, quizás incluso sea un digno destino para alguien que aborrece su propia existencia, como claramente es el caso. Y en el transcurso de una venganza es posible que uno pudiera encontrarse de nuevo ante lo que más odia con todas sus fuerzas. Ethan tiene que enfrentarse nada más y nada menos que a su inmensa rabia y odio para rescatar a su sobrina de las fauces de los malvados indios (un tópico del Western), los que a su vuelta de la guerra acabaron con casi toda su familia y escaparon con lo que para él es un símbolo...y no me vengan con el tema del racismo aquellos que intentan ver al demonio, porque ciertamente cualquiera en su sano juicio haría lo mismo que hizo Ethan Edwards: perseguir al responsable hasta la extenuación.

John Ford crea con su maravillosa mente un escenario en el que sucede una historia fácil de entender, difícil de contar y rodada de manera soberbia. Se puede captar cada emoción de tal manera que, como ocurre con las obras maestras, nos trasportamos a la historia y nos sentimos parte de ella, dejando de ser meros observadores para acabar siendo testigos, con lo que ello implica. Las localizaciones en Monument Valley (Utah) son simplemente espectaculares y sorprenden por su sencillez y gran belleza al mismo tiempo. La fotografía, responsabilidad de Winston C. Hoch, es impresionante. El rodaje en Panavision le otorga al film una calidad excepcional que aumenta el disfrute visual de la obra de Ford.

Se trata de un Western imprescindible en la videoteca de cualquier cinéfilo que se digne llamar así. La primera parte de la película es puro arte y el resultado final es excelente. Las interpretaciones rayan la perfección, sobre todo en el caso de Wayne y Hunter. La técnica de esta película hace de su visionado un deleite para los sentidos. Estamos ante otro magnífico trabajo de Jonh Ford, el cual, más allá de la valoración o juicio que se pueda hacer sobre su persona, acomete un cine que roza la perfección en su conjunto y la alcanza en muchas de sus secuencias y planos.

People who return from a war seem to bring with them a new personality closely related to new fears and traumas. Not all of them seem ready to return to the haven of peace in which they lived and to re-fit the boots of the person who once meditated on the trivial and superfluous. The locations in Monument Valley (Utah) are simply spectacular and surprising in their simplicity and beauty at the same time. The photograph, responsibility of Winston C. Hoch, is impressive. Filming in Panavision film gives the exceptional quality that enhances visual enjoyment of the work of Ford.

This Western is an essential in the video library of any moviegoer who deign to call it that. The first part of the movie is pure art and the result is excellent. Perfection scratch performances, especially in the case of Wayne and Hunter. The technique of this film makes your viewing delight for the senses. We are facing another great work by John Ford, which, beyond the assessment or judgment that may be made on his person, undertakes a near-perfect film as a whole and reaches many of its sequences and planes.

Bandas Sonoras : Rocky, Bill Conti, las orquestas y solistas.

Aunque parece obvio, a veces olvidamos el importantísimo papel que juegan las bandas sonoras en las películas. De hecho, existen películas que díficilmente llegarían a ser las obras maestras que son sin las partituras escritas por los músicos. En este caso en particular quiero poner el foco de atención sobre una de las películas mejor consideradas en la historia del cine: Rocky. Ganadora de tres Oscars de la Academia (Película, Director, Montaje) y nominada a diez (guión, actor, actriz, etc). Hay bandas sonoras que se convierten en himnos, y Bill Conti compusó uno de los himnos a la superación personal que más se recuerdan, de hecho dudo que nadie con más de una veintena de edad no haya escuchado alguna vez el Gonna Fly Now. Este tema esta considerado como uno de los cien mejores temas de la historia del cine por el American Film Institute, y aunque la versión para la película fue radiada hasta decir basta, fue la versión del trompetista Maynard Ferguson publicada antes de la banda sonora, la que versión que alcanzó mayor éxito.

Uno de los placeres que en mi opinión es del todo recomendable es escuchar a una orquesta o a un solista interpretando una banda sonora, como por ejemplo ocurre de manera continua durante la retransmisión de la Gala de los Oscar. El poder percibir como fluyen las notas en un espacio preparado para tal evento provoca una sensación indiscriptible. Los instrumentos se convierten en los portadores de las emociones que la película nos inoculó (siempre que nos gustara, claro está), y revivimos sin necesidad de imágenes cada escena hasta tal punto que la experiencia cautiva por su belleza...vaya, que cursi me he puesto...Bueno, que cada uno juzgue e interprete que siente al escuchar una "original score" (como lo llaman los americanos) interpretado por una orquesta, un pianista, un guitarrista , un violinista o cualquiera a cargo de un instrumeno. Para ello os dejo unos vídeos que he seleccionado de youtube para que comprobeís qué diferente resulta la audición de una BSO a manos de músicos en directo.
El primer vídeo muestra la interpretación de Gonna Fly Now a cargo de la Orquesta Holandesa llamada Crescendo from Bussum, una delicia. El segundo vídeo muestra un montaje del entrenamiento en Rocky IV de Vince Di Vicola a cargo de un anónimo, interesante comprobar los acordes de la guitarra y el juego de movimientos para conseguir la melodía. El tercer vídeo muestra un concierto de Survivor en Nagoya en el 87 en el que interpretan Eye of the Tiger, el tema principal de Rocky III y una de las canciones más famosas de este grupo junto con Burning Heart, son cañeros como pocos. En el cuarto y último vídeo os dejo un fragmento de un programa en el que entrevistan a Bill Conti (Rocky I, II, III, V, VI), habla sobre cómo surgió el famoso tema del que ya hemos hablado (Gonna Fly Now) y donde además interpreta al piano el mismo, muy interesante.

Although it seems obvious, we sometimes forget the important role played by the movie soundtracks. In fact, there are films that hardly would become the masterpieces that they are without the scores written by musicians. In this particular case I want to put the spotlight on one of the most highly regarded films in film history: Rocky. Winner of three Academy Awards (Picture, Director, Editor) and nominated for ten (screenplay, actor, actress, etc). There are soundtracks that become anthems, and Bill Conti composed one of the hymns to the personal growth that are remembered more, in fact I doubt anyone with more than twenty years has not ever heard the song Gonna Fly Now. This issue is considered one of the hundred best songs of movie history by the American Film Institute, and although the film version was broadcast a lot, was the trumpeter Maynard Ferguson version published by the soundtrack, that version achieved greater success.

One of the pleasures in my opinion is quite advisable to listen to an orchestra or soloist playing a soundtrack, such as occurs continuously during the broadcast of the Oscars. PELÍCULAS FUTURISTAS Y SUS COMPLEMENTOS: RELOJES DEL FUTURO

Leyendo las noticias me he encontrado de manera casual con la llamativa imagen de lo que se supone que va a ser el reloj de apple, que como no se llamará iWatch. Esto me ha planteado que el tiempo pasa muy deprisa, qué paradoja e ironía, ¿verdad? Lo cierto es que he visto muchas películas donde los protagonista lucían relojes de lo más estrafalarios que poseían característica que, por lo menos, parecían de lo más inverosímiles y locas. Sin embargo, este iWatch me pone en la tesitura de reflexionar sobre el paso del tiempo: nunca imaginé que aquello que veía en películas futuristas tipo Minority Riport, Star Trek, Tron, etc, fuera a hacerse realidad tan pronto. Desde la II Revolución industrial el hombre a acelerado el paso tecnológico a marchas forzadas, como si le persiguieran, aunque de hecho era más una guerra constante entre comunistas y capitalistas. De observar las estrellas y la luna desde tierra firme pasamos a enviar sondas y a pisar nuestro más cercano satélite. Con la III Revolución Industrial, la científico-técnica hemos desarrollado nanotecnología, es decir, hemos colocado dentro de un móvil lo que antes ocupaba toda una habitación o incluso un edificio y esto permite casos como el del iWatch que se podrá conectar a Internet, podrá realizar pagos, chatear...ah sí! y dar la hora.

El cine ha sido en ocasiones un escaparate de diseños que luego hemos visto realizados en serie y vendidos a millones, el propio teléfono móvil o Internet son un buen ejemplo. No obstante y cómo decía al principio creo que el ritmo de desarrollo tecnológico está siendo demasiado elevado y cada vez es más difícil adaptarse a los cambios. A continuación os dejo algunos ejemplos de los que hablo: el primero es el reloj de Michael Knight (Fundación para la Ley y el Orden) con el que Michael llamaba a Kit, el segundo es un reloj basado en los dispositivos de Star Trek The Next Generation, el tercero/s corresponde a una imagen de modelos de relojes llevados por James Bond-007 (todos sabemos lo que eran capaces de hacer), el cuarto es un reloj basado en los tubos de condensación del Delorian que usaban en Regreso al futuro para viajar en el tiempo, el quinto es un reloj basado en la película de Kubrik 2001: Una Odisea del Espacio, el sexto es el reloj que usaba Tom Cruise en Minority Report, el séptimo es un reloj inspirado en la última entrega de Tron, y por último, los iWatch de apple, sin duda perecen sacados de cualquier peli futurista.

"Ted (2012)" Un compitrueno es para siempre.

Hacía una barbaridad de tiempo que no me plantaba delante del televisor y me llevaba la grata sorpresa que me he llevado con Ted. En primer lugar porque Ted había pasado desapercibida al satélite de películas que suelo captar. Y segundo porque nadie me la había recomendado y tampoco es que escuchara grandes críticas. Recuerdo que vi el tráiler y me gustó. Bueno, dejando divagaciones a parte, ¿porqué me ha sorprendido Ted?

Ayer viaje a los ochenta, a aquellas tardes de cine en las que me sentaba ante el televisor y en la sesión de tarde ponían una peli juvenil en TVE1. Esas pelis en las que aparecían unos personajes muy afables a la vez que desdichados, los cuales, tocados por una varita o envueltos en sucesos mágicos inexplicables (ni falta que hacía explicarlos) veían como su vida cambiaba para bien.

Además de viajar a los ochenta, también viaje a los noventa. Por que fue en esa década en la que descubrí mi amor por las películas "parideras", así las he llamado yo desde que tengo memoria. ¡Pero ojo! no se me confundan ustedes, estoy hablando de la parida de calidad, de la que te arranca una carcajada tras otra y que está llena de matices.

Y finalmente, la sorpresa final es caer en la cuenta de cómo Ted, a parte de las dos vertientes que presenta (juvenil y cómico), consigue aplicar la receta de la comedia romántica casi sin darse uno cuenta.

El responsable de todo ello es ni más ni menos que Seth MacFarlane, cocreador de Padre de familia, Padre Made in USA o El Show de Cleveland entre otros. El padre putativo de un tipo de humor extremadamente mordaz y salido de tiesto. MacFarlane dirige aquí una cinta repleta de gags y escenas que mezclan todo lo anteriormente mencionado con una soltura y una agilidad dignas de mención. Y todo ello gracias, desde mi punto de vista, a haber sabido coger las mejores partes de esas películas ochenteras, de la comedia hilarante de los Abrahams y Zucker y de la comedia romántica clásica, básica y eficaz en taquilla.

Mark Wahlberg está fabuloso en su papel y desternillante sus momentos de gags Mila Kunis (Paso de ti, Con derecho a roce,...) cumple su cometido con notable, Seth MacFarlane dobla la voz de un oso que en su versión española realiza Santi Millán (raro ha sido que me haya gustado, yo que siempre crítico este tipo de doblajes), Giovanni Ribisi produce escalofríos metido en un papel hilarantemente desquiciado, incluso las apariciones de Norah Jones y Ryan Reynolds suman otro aliciente para no perderse la película. Y atención al estelar Sam S. Jones, el conocido Flash Gordon de 1980, una subtrama que le pone la guinda a este pastel.

¿Qué más puedo decir? ¡Ah, claro! No puedo acabar sin comentar lo acertado del oso de peluche como principal emisor de humor. Simplemente la imagen de un oso de peluche diciendo las barbaridades que dice vale la pena, es como Stewie en Padre de Familia, esa contradicción es más que atractiva, es adictiva. Si con todo el rollo que os he soltado no tenéis ganas de verla nada más puedo hacer. Los que han caído en la red espero que disfrutéis tanto como yo y al resto otra vez será.

A THUNDER BUDDY IS FOREVER

It was an awful lot of time since I planted in front of the TV and I had the pleasant surprise that I've been with Ted. Firstly because Ted had gone unnoticed by satellite movies that capture soil. And second because nobody had recommended, nor is it heard great reviews. I remember seeing the trailer and liked. Well, leaving aside ramblings, why Ted did surprise me?

Yesterday I traveled to the eighties, I traveled to film those afternoons where I sat before the television and in the afternoon session youth put a movie on TVE1 (Spanish channel). Those movies in which they appeared very affable characters while unfortunate, who, touched by a wand or magical events involved in inexplicable (or did not have to explain) saw their lives changed for the better.
Besides traveling at eighty, I also travel to the nineties. Because it was in this decade that I discovered my love for the movies "farrowing" and I have called them since I have memory. But beware! I do not confuse you, I'm talking about quality calving, which will start a laugh after another and it is full of nuances.
And finally, the final surprise is realizing how Ted, apart from the two sides presenting (youth and comedian), apply the recipe gets romantic comedy almost without noticing it.

The person responsible for this is none other than Seth MacFarlane, co-creator of Family Guy, American Dad! or The Cleveland Show among others. The putative father of an extremely caustic brand of humor and out of pot. MacFarlane directs here a tape full of gags and scenes that mix all of the above with an ease and agility noteworthy. And all this because, from my point of view, to be able to catch the best parts of those eighties movies, comedy Hilarious Abrahams and Zucker and classic romantic comedy, and effective basic box office.

Mark Wahlberg is great in his role and his moments of hilarious gags, Mila Kunis (Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Friends with Benefits, ...) does the job with remarkable, Seth MacFarlane doubles the voice of a bear who performs Spanish version Santi Millán (was weird that I liked, I always critical that this type of dubbing), Giovanni Ribisi got chills on paper hilariously unhinged, including appearances by Norah Jones and Ryan Reynolds added another incentive to not miss the movie. And attention to stellar Sam S. Jones, the famous Flash Gordon, 1980, a subplot that puts the icing on the cake.

What else I can say? Ah, of course! I can not finish without commenting on the wisdom of the teddy bear as a major issuer of humor. Just the image of a teddy bear saying the barbarities worth saying, it's like Stewie on Family Guy, this contradiction is more than attractive, is addictive. If the entire roll with that I have released have no desire to see anything else I can do. Those who have fallen through the net hope you enjoy it as much as I and the rest next time.

"Rocky IV (1985)" No hay salida fácil

El otro día hablando con mis amigos sobre películas deportivas no pude evitar acordarme de la saga de Rocky Balboa, una de las sagas deportivas con más solera y de las que mayor éxito en taquilla se llevó. Casi han pasado tres décadas desde que se estrenara la cuarta entrega de las seis que la componen y todavía me sigo emocionando (ojo que va un spoiler) cuando en el último asalto del combate final Rocky tumba a Drago y le obliga a morder la lona. No me avergüenza reconocer que incluso se me escapa alguna lagrimilla cuando Rocky va asestando un golpe tras otro en el hígado del ruso. Para ser honesto con vosotros os debo confesar que de pequeño yo quería ser como Rocky, tener su fortaleza y su coraje, su entrega y su humildad, es decir, estar hecho de hierro y aguantarlo todo, tal y como le sugiere Drago a uno de sus entrenadores durante el combate final.

El propio Sylvester Stallone se puso tras las cámaras y sobre el papel para dirigir y escribir el guión de la cuarta entrega. ¿Es esta la mejor de la saga? Supongo que la mayoría diría que no, que la primera es una delicia y que a parte de ser un tributo al boxeo es una excelente obra cinematográfica galardonada con el Oscar a la mejor película de 1976. Sin embargo, para mi la cuarta entrega (galardonada con 5 Razzie) es la que me provoca más a nivel físico, con subidones de adrenalina, con unas sesiones de entrenamiento que van calentando al espectador y preparándolo para el clímax final. Además de una banda sonora estupenda tanto en su composición por Vince DiCola y como en la selección de canciones.

Tiene un guión muy simple pero efectivo donde la venganza, el patriotismo y la heroicidad se entremezclan con lo puramente deportivo. Incluso se habla del dopaje (que tan de moda está estos días). Quizás lo más reseñable de la película (quedaban escasos cuatros años para que cayera el telón de acero) es como Stallone, ya con un porvenir labrado y libre de ataduras, se permite el lujo de invocar a la paz entre las dos grandes potencias de aquel momento -la URSS y USA- en el discurso final: ¡ojo spoiler! "...aquí había dos hombres matándose el uno al otro...pero dos hombres es mejor que dos millones..." aplausos, ovaciones y uno preguntándose como es capaz de semejante reflexión después de haber recibido la somanta de palos que lleva encima (desde la primera película).

En resumen, aunque la película se rodará en Vancouver para los exteriores rusos, lo cierto es que consigue transmitir el ambiente adecuado. Es una película deportiva para flipar un rato y activar la vena del ejercicio físico. Su banda sonora es altamente recomendable para realizar cualquier tipo de actividad como el jogging, y vale la pena aunque tan sólo sea para gozar con el show que realiza James Brown en su interpretación de Living in America. Que el que desee la disfrute.

"NO EASY WAY OUT"

The other day talking with my friends about sports movies could not help but remember the saga of Rocky Balboa, one of the most traditional sports franchises and the most successful at the box office was. Almost three decades have passed since it was released the fourth installment of the six that make up and I'm still excited (spoiler care) when the final assault of the final combat Drago Rocky grave and forces him to bite the canvas. I'm not ashamed to admit that even I miss a crybaby when Rocky is dealing a blow after another Russian in the liver. To be honest with you, I must confess that when I was ten, I wanted to be like Rocky, have their strength and courage, devotion and humility, that is, be made of iron and take it all as it suggests Drago one of his coaches during the final battle.

Sylvester Stallone himself got behind the camera and on the role to direct and write the script for the fourth installment. Is this the best in the series? I guess most would say no, that the first is a delight and besides being a tribute to boxing is an excellent film work won the Oscar for Best Picture of 1976. However, for me the fourth installment (won 5 Razzie) is what makes me more physically, with highs of adrenaline, with good training sessions that are warming the audience and preparing for the final climax. Besides a great soundtrack in its composition by Vince DiCola and in the selection of songs.

It has a very simple but effective script where revenge, patriotism and heroism are mixed with pure sports. There is even talk of doping (which is so fashionable these days). Perhaps the highlight of the film (left scant four years to the fall of the Iron Curtain), is seen as Stallone, and styled with a future free from bondage, affords to invoke peace between the two great powers of the time-the USA-USSR and in the final speech: spoiler care! "... here were two men killing each other ... but two men is better than two million ..." applause, cheers and wondering how one is capable of such reflection after receiving the leading clubs locally termed above (from the first film).

In summary, although the film will be shot in Vancouver for Russians outside, the truth is that manages to convey the mood. It's a sports movie to freak out a bit and activate the vein of exercise. Its soundtrack is highly recommended for any kind of activity like jogging, and worth it if only to enjoy the show with James Brown performing in his portrayal of Living in America. What you want to enjoy.

"LA DUPLA LARA CROFT: TOMB RAIDER 1&2 (2001 &2003)" Insert coins

No sabía muy bien como titular la crítica sobre las dos películas que protagonizó ya hace aproximadamente una década Angelina Jolie. Lo primero en lo que pensé, debido a mi vena negativa, fue "Game over" en clara alusión a los videojuegos, y por lo infumables que se me presentaron ambas cintas. Finalmente decidí "Insert Coins", no porque consideré que se debe seguir con la tónica de las dos versiones de 2001 y 2003, sino porque creo que es posible que se pueda hacer un producto cinematográfico de calidad basado en la saga del juego para consolas y ordenadores.

El principal problema que tienen las películas a mi entender es que parecen una demo del juego simple y llanamente. Nada se sale de lo que se puede encontrar cuando se experimenta la acción jugando desde casa con tu mando, por lo menos en casa podemos interactuar, con las películas se asiste a una acción demasiado previsible y con una ausencia total de intriga, suspense o sorpresa. Además hay que añadir la paupérrima interpretación de Jolie con gestos chulescos que a mi entender no pegan con el personaje de Lara Croft, y luciendo palmito como si de un maniquí se tratase. Es un desperdicio que los intérpretes que después han demostrado cierta pericia como Daniel Craig, Gerard Butler, Djimon Hounsou, Iain Glen, etc, acaben como marionetas de una acción mal filmada, narrada y poco imaginativa-creativa.

Hay dos puntos que se pueden "salvar" de la quema: algunos efectos especiales están lo suficientemente logrados y le dan a la película algunos momentos interesantes, aunque también hay que decir que hay otros que cantan demasiado, como por ejemplo la poca resistencia que ofrecen columnas y estatuas de varios metros de grosor ante las sacudidas que reciben de Lara y sus armas; por otra parte, y sin duda creo que es lo más interesante que ofrecen estas películas, es la fotografía de exteriores con unas localizaciones que impresionan y que están muy bien captadas por la cámara.

Cabe mencionar que tras estas mediocres películas se realizó una serie de animación que tampoco causó furor y otra película en 2008 que me niego a ver por las críticas horrible que recibió. No obstante quiero acabar esta crítica haciendo un llamamiento (que sé que caerá en saco roto) a los guionistas y adaptadores de cualquier historia: Lara Croft tiene potencial para convertirse en la Indiana Jones de las feminas y con un buen guión podría convertirse en una excelente franquicia cinematográfica, o al menos eso piensa un servidor de ustedes.

I was not sure as owner criticism on two films that starred a decade ago by Angelina Jolie. The first thing I thought, because of my negative vein, was "Game over" in clear reference to video games, and so I was introduced terrible that both tapes. Finally I decided to title "Insert Coins", not because I felt that it should follow the trend of the two versions of 2001 and 2003, but because I think it may be possible to make a quality film product based on the saga of the game for consoles and computers.

The main problem with the film in my opinion is that a demo of the game seem plain and simple. Nothing comes out of what can be found when you experience playing action from home with your command, at least at home we can interact with the movies attends a share too predictable and a total absence of intrigue, suspense or surprise . We also have to add the extremely poor interpretation of Jolie with cocky gestures which I believe are not stuck with the character of Lara Croft, and showing her body as if it were a mannequin. It's a waste that interpreters have shown that after some skill as Daniel Craig, Gerard Butler, Djimon Hounsou, Iain Glen, etc, end up as puppets of an evil action filmed, narrated and unimaginative-creative.

There are two points that can "save" the burning: some special effects are achieved enough and give the film some interesting moments, though it must be said that there are others who absolutely not, such as offering little resistance columns and statues of several meters thick shake before receiving their weapons Lara and on the other hand, and I think it's certainly the most interesting feature of these films is the outdoor photography with some impressive locations and are very well captured by the camera.

Amo el cine de tal forma que en no pocas ocasiones imágenes de cualquier film acuden a mi mente para relacionarlas con situaciones reales, de la vida cotidiana o incluso de anhelos y temores. El cine tiene un inexplicable efecto sobre todo el mundo, y aunque sabemos que el cine transita entre lo real y lo ficticio, también apreciamos su verdad por encima de las constantes y provocadas omisiones.

Quizás haya alguien a quien todavía no le haya embargado un torrente de emociones cuando acaba de ver una película como Qué bello es vivir, a quien todavía no se le erizan los pelos de la nuca cuando "La diligencia" cruza el oeste ante enormes desafíos, a quien todavía no le ha curado una gripe un visionado de "El hombre tranquilo". El cine clásico tenía una forma de contar las historias que sobrepasaba la pantalla incidiendo directamente en nuestros cerebros y provocando el chispazo de nuestra máquina de reflexión. Para quienes todavía siguen sin conocer de sus efectos no creo que haya una película mejor para empezar a aficionarse que la maravillosa "Casablanca".

Hay que decir que "Casablanca" no obtuvo los merecidos elogios con los que hoy cuenta hasta pasados unos diez años desde su estreno, muy seguramente porque fue descubierta por generaciones de estadounidenses que habían vivido un momento clave en la historia de la humanidad, y se encontraban respondiendo preguntas que Casablanca les pudo contestar en parte. No obstante fue una película que en su estreno contó con la inestimable fortuna de coincidir casi con el desembarco aliado en Casablanca, concretamente dieciocho días después del mismo.

El adjetivo que mejor definiría la película de Michael Curtiz sería redonda, desde la dirección hasta el atrezzo. Curtiz hace gala de una gran maestría permitiendo que los detalles más importantes nos conduzcan por un guión que mantiene al espectador en una constante vigía. Las actuaciones son memorables, de principales y secundarios, pero la pareja protagonista rebosa excelencia desde que aparecen en escena hasta que desvanecen. A mi en particular me encandila sobre manera la interpretación de Bogart, su cinismo, su dureza, su sarcasmo y su transformación en el hombre que realmente es y que a casi todos nos gustaría ser. Ingrid Bergman está preciosa y exuberante cuando tiene que estarlo, Ilsa mantiene una tensión con Rick que hace que se vayan rompiendo por dentro cada vez que se encuentran, que conversan o que se miran. La música es exquisita y la ambientación hace que nos olvidemos de si Casablanca es como la pintan porque lo cierto es que nos las creemos desde el primer frame en el que aparece.

La película no sólo trata de gente que quiere escapar de la terrible avalancha nazi que se cierne sobre Europa y que aspira a conquistar el mundo, también trata del amor y el desamor, de las amistades y las enemistades, y por supuesto, del tiempo, del tiempo que pasa y pasará. No hay que perder la ocasión de hacer un buen amigo, y con "Casablanca" podemos comenzar una hermosa amistad con el cine clásico que tanto ha dado y tiene que dar.

...THE BEGINNING OF A BEATIFUL FRIENDSHIP.

I love movies so many occasions in any film images come to my mind to relate to real situations of daily life or even of desires and fears. The film has an inexplicable effect on everyone, and although we know that the film moves between the real and the fictional, also appreciate your truth above constants and omissions caused.

Perhaps there is someone who still hasn't embargoed a torrent of emotions when watching a movie just as "It's a Wonderful Life", who is not yet bristling hairs neck as "Stagecoach" crosses the west face of enormous challenges, who still has not cured the flu a viewing of "The Quiet Man". The classic film was a way to tell the stories that went beyond the screen shining directly into our brains and causing the spark reflection of our machine. For those who still remain unaware of its effects not think there is a better film to start dabbling that wonderful "Casablanca".

The performances are memorable, major and minor, but the main couple exudes excellence from appearing on the scene until fade. My particularly excites me about how the interpretation of Bogart, his cynicism, his toughness, his sarcasm and his transformation into the man he really is and that almost everyone would like to be. Ingrid Bergman is lovely and lush when it has to be, Ilsa and Rick maintain a tension that makes it go crashing inside every time they meet, they talk or look. The music is exquisite and the atmosphere makes us forget if Casablanca is like the painting because the truth is that we believe from the first frame in which it appears.

The film is not just about people who want to escape the Nazi onslaught dreadful hanging over Europe and aspires to conquer the world, also about love and heartbreak, friendship and enmity, and of course, time, the time going bye. Do not lose the chance to make a good friend, and "Casablanca" can begin a beautiful friendship with both classical cinema has given and has to give.

"La Reina de África_The African Queen (1951)" Huston, tenemos un problema.

Algunos meses después de haber visionado esta película entre la aventura, la comedia y el romance, caigo ahora en la cuenta de sus semejanzas con la cinta protagonizada por Harrison Ford y Anne Heche "Seis días y siete noches". Desde luego no se parece en nada Heche a la genial Katherine Hepburn ni Ford al magnífico Humphrey Bogart, pero en la relación que se establece entre ambos personajes de las diferentes tramas si que existe cierto paralelismo, sobre todo porque ambos acaban influyendo en la manera de pensar del otro y obviamente por esa aventura que transcurre en plena naturaleza y que le da a "La reina de África" su aliciente extra y su valor añadido.

Como con muchas películas de aquella década, no fueron pocos los impedimentos que sufrió el proyecto antes de poder filmarse y estrenarse. La novela se publicó en 1935 del puño y letra de Cecil Scott Forester, pasando más de 15 años hasta que el cine le diera la oportunidad que se merecía. Se barajaron diferentes intérpretes, más concretamente Bette Davis y David Niven, pero finalmente con John Huston dirigiendo acabaron tanto Bogart como Hepburn volando hasta El Congo (Rio Riuki) y huyendo de decorados y estudios que no hubieran ofrecido la imagen y la fotografía que Spiegel y sobre todo Huston querían y deseaban. Bueno, para ser sinceros Huston pretendía también practicar caza mayor, y como en el lugar donde transcurre la novela (Kenya) le habían denegado el permiso, se buscó un emplazamiento que le permitiera cazar algún que otro elefante, vamos, al más puro estilo Don Juan Carlos I. Mucho se ha dicho sobre el temperamento de Huston y es sabido que cuando el director habló con Bogart sobre el papel que iba interpretar le dijo algo así: "el héroe de la Reina de África es un borracho y un proscrito, tú eres el mayor borracho de la ciudad, así que eres perfecto para el personaje". Mientras, por su parte, Hepburn se sintió atraída por el personaje de la misionera y su relación con el pecador.

El rodaje en tierras africanas se convirtió en una especie de calvario para casi todo el equipo ya que muchos de sus integrantes acabaron padeciendo paludismo o disentería, lo mínimo era irse por la pata de abajo y luchar contra las hordas de mosquitos que asediaban el set de filmación. Bogart bromeaba diciendo que tanto él como Huston eran inmunes debido a su alimentación a base de alubias y espárragos enlatados acompañados de whisky escocés, así que los mosquitos que osaban atacarlos caían fulminados al acto. Además había que añadir a los mosquitos las serpientes venenosas, los cocodrilos, los escorpiones, es decir, un particular safari dentro de la propia película.

¡Hay amigos...! y qué decir de la Reina de África, ese barco destartalado y apunto de la ruina que consigue enfrentarse a la furia del Congo y a las embestidas del enemigo. Aún y tener un aspecto tan decrépito me gustaría navegar alguna vez en uno de esos islotes flotantes, donde parece que uno tiene lo que necesita y más. Un verdadero barco de travesía que no distaba mucho del real, el cual sufrió un hundimiento antes del predestinado por el guión.

En definitiva, esta película es digna de toda una serie de producciones de la época, en la que con ciertas variables difíciles de manejar se obtenían grandes resultados debido sobre todo al talento de los intérpretes y a unas adaptaciones estupendas de obras literarias excelentes.

HUSTON WE'VE A PROBLEM

Some months after viewing this film between adventure, comedy and romance, fall now into the account of its resemblance to the film starring Harrison Ford and Anne Heche "Six Days Seven Nights". Certainly Heche not at all like the great Katherine Hepburn and Ford to magnificent Humphrey Bogart, but the relationship established between the two characters of different frames if there is some parallelism, especially since both end up influencing how think of the other and obviously that adventure set in the countryside and that gives "The African Queen" their extra incentive and added value.

As with many films of the decade, there were many obstacles that the project suffered before filming and premiere. Proyecto de largometraje: ¿Quién mató a Susan Miller?

Estimados compañeros blogueros, lectores ocasionales y visitantes de google: hace algunas semanas el guionista Xavier Dólera me contacto para pedirme el favor de promocionarle su proyecto de largometraje con el título que tenéis en la entrada. Tras haber visionado el teaser y haberme informado de la mejor manera posible le contesté que sí. En general este blog se dedica a criticar películas, series, documentales y todo aquello que se me ocurra pueda tener algo que ver con el cine o la caja tonta. Ni que decir tiene que agradezco al Sr. Dólera su visita al blog y su interés en que este humilde blog intente hacer eco de su proyecto, aprovecho para desearle mucha suerte y espero que verdaderamente esta entrada pueda constituirse en otro granito de arena más en la consecución de su proyecto.

Dear fellow bloggers, readers and occasional visitors from google: a few weeks ago the writer Xavier Dólera contact me to ask me the favor of promote his feature film project with the title you have in the entrance. After viewing the teaser and informed me of the best way I answered yes. Overall this blog is dedicated to criticizing movies, series, documentaries and everything that I can think might have something to do with the movies or TV. "Todos eran valientes _ None but the brave (1965)" Aislamiento

La guerra es un virus de la humanidad, o quizás sea innato a la propia raza humana. Sea como fuere es dañina y aleja a los hombres de la felicidad. Esta película dirigida por Sinatra, la única que se le conoce, se entiende en cualquier momento de la historia porque trata precisamente de la guerra, del enfrentamiento entre iguales por entender que la cultura de uno debe prevalecer sobre la del otro, lo que desemboca en odio, ira y destrucción, y que sobre todo permite aprender (de manera tardía) a los que la llevan a cabo su sin sentido y su crueldad. Todos eran valientes permite hacer ese recorrido, desde el odio a la lógica y vuelta a empezar, porque desgraciadamente los hombre aprenden pero no la humanidad.

Atendiendo a la particularidad de que Sinatra se ponga tras las cámaras y delante de ellas, hay que comentar que en esta cinta de poco más de hora y media, la dirección es adecuada para seguir el ritmo ajustado de la historia. No existen detalles de genio ni florituras de fotografía, montaje o cualquier elemento extra; simplemente es un cine hecho para entretener y lo consigue. Sinatra se mantiene en su papel sin adornar su interpretación con su lírica, algún que otro tarareo para los más incondicionales (entre los que me incluyo) pero nada de música y letra.

La historia es propia de un drama bélico algo anestesiado por la escasa acción que encontraremos pero generoso en cuanto a lecciones morales y desafíos personales entre los dos bandos: los japoneses y los americanos. No adolece de patriotismo americano, cuenta una historia de naúfragos y olvidados que se encuentran en la tesitura de defender sus patrias y sus honores, y que poco a poco y muerte tras muerte van cayendo en la cuenta de que tienen más en común de lo que pudiera parecer en un principio.

El reparto está en su justa medida, y cada rol tiene su antirol en el bando contrario, como un espejo que permite ver las dos caras de una misma moneda. Sinatra está bastante bien, cosa que no debe extrañar pues ya le habíamos visto en otros papeles de mayor cariz dramático y no cojeó en absoluto, recuerden ustedes El Hombre del brazo de oro de 1955 o la maravillosa De aquí a la eternidad en la que ganó el Oscar al mejor actor de reparto. También están muy bien en sus respectivos papeles protagonistas tanto Clint Walker como Tatsuya Mihashi.

Pues eso, una película entretenida y con reflexiones interesantes. Un buen decorado y unas interpretaciones dignas. Y una oportunidad para que los seguidores de Sinatra le vean en pantalla y empapando cada fotograma de la misma como director.

ISOLATION

War is a human virus, or perhaps innate to the human race itself. Either way is harmful and alienates men to happiness. This film directed by Sinatra, the only one that is known, it is understood at any point in history is precisely because of the war, the confrontation of equals to understand that culture one must prevail over the other, which leads to hatred, anger and destruction, and above all can learn (so late) that the conduct their senseless cruelty. The story is itself something of a war drama anesthetized by action that we find but little generous with moral lessons and personal challenges between the two sides: the Japanese and Americans. It lacks patriotism, tells a story of castaways and forgotten who are in the position to defend their homelands and their honors, and little by little, and death after death are falling on the account that they have more in common than might seem at first.

The cast is in its proper place, and each role has its antirol on the other side, like a mirror that lets you see the two sides of the same coin. Sinatra is pretty good, which is not surprising because we had already seen in other papers more dramatic turn and limped at all, you remember The Man with the Golden Arm, 1955 or the wonderful From Here to Eternity in which he won the Oscar for best supporting actor. They are also very good in their respective roles as protagonists both Tatsuya Mihashi Clint Walker.

For that, an entertaining film with interesting reflections. A good scenery and some decent performances. And an opportunity for Sinatra fans will see on the screen and soaking every frame of it as director.

"Falling Skies (2011)" MULDER Y SCULLY LO SABÍAN

Volviendo al apartado de televisión, hace poco me sorprendió gratamente esta serie avalada por Spielberg, ya no se cuántas van, que gira en torno a una temática ya explotada en otras ocasiones: LA INVASIÓN ALIENÍGENA. Hay que decir que no por ser un tema algo gastado vamos a encontrar lo mismo de siempre. Lo bueno es que en Falling Skies se reinventan ciertos aspectos de las series sobre hombrecillos verdes.

Ya sabemos que Spielberg es una especie de Freak de los extraterrestres (Cowboys and Aliens, Super 8, Abducidos, Men in Black I y II, ET, etc), y aquí los guionistas de la serie nos enseñan más allá de efectos especiales y platillos volantes, la respuesta de los supervivientes a la invasión; cómo los pocos militares que quedan aglutinan a civiles y los convierten en soldados creando auténticos regimientos militares, donde el 2º de Massachussets (Mass.) adquirirá protagonismo de manos de los personajes que interpretan Noah Wyle y Will Patton. Se genera una situación de retroceso tecnológico humano y la guerra de guerrillas cobra su protagonismo durante gran parte del show. Tom Mason (Noah Wyle) es un profesor universitario de historia bélica reconvertido a capitán, aleccionando a civiles y enfrentándose a militares fuera de sí mismos, este personaje es la clave y el generador de conflictos y relaciones personales del 2º de Mass.

Quizás lo más destacable sea la convivencia entre los propios humanos, que como casi siempre se erije en la clave del éxito de la empresa. Una convivencia que regala al espectador los mejores momentos de la serie y que se aderezan con las escasas apariciones de los extraterrestres.

Otro punto fuerte que recuerda a los invasores de cuerpos, es que los alienígenas intentan subyugar a los niños implantándoles dispositivos en la base de la nuca, unos niños que intentan ser devueltos con sus padres y que parecen ser parte de la clave para entender someramente la intención invasora y quizás encontrar un punto débil por el cual atacar.

En resumen creo que es una estupenda manera de refrescar el panorama de series de ciencia ficción, y una oportunidad para visionar un producto apto para todos los públicos y muy recomendable.

MULDER AND SCULLY KNEW IT

Returning to the TV section, recently I was pleasantly surprised this series endorsed by Spielberg, and many are not, which revolves around a theme already developed in the past: the alien invasion. It must be said that not be an issue we will find something worn as usual. The good news is that in Falling Skies reinvent certain aspects of the series about little green men.

We already know that Spielberg is a kind of Freak of aliens (Cowboys and Aliens, Super 8, Abducted, Men in Black I and II, ET, etc.), and here the writers of the show teach us beyond special effects and saucers flyers, the response of the survivors of the invasion, how the few remaining military and civilian agglutinate become soldiers creating authentic military regiments, where the 2nd Massachusetts (Mass.) hands acquire ownership of the characters played by Noah Wyle and Will Patton. It creates a situation of human technological setback and guerrilla warfare takes its role for much of the show. Tom Mason (Noah Wyle) is a professor of military history converted to captain, instructing civilians and military face outside themselves, this character is the key and the generator of conflicts and relationships of the 2nd Mass.

Perhaps most remarkable is the coexistence between humans themselves, that as erije almost always the key to success in business. A coexistence that gives the viewer the best moments of the series and is seasoned with rare appearances of aliens.
Another strength that recalls the invaders of bodies, is that the aliens attempt to subjugate children implanting devices in the base of the neck, some kids who try to be returned to their parents and they seem to be part of the key to understand briefly the intention invasive and perhaps find a weak point by which to attack.

In short I think it's a great way to refresh the view of science fiction series, and an opportunity to view a product suitable for all ages and highly recommended.

A tropecientas millas naúticas de mi casa en Palma se encuentra el Mar de Bering, en donde faenan los cangrejeros. ¿Y qué es un cangrejero?, pues bien fácil, un barco que pesca cangrejos del tamaño de buitres gracias a un sistema de nasas cargadas de cebo...no, no, no! un momento! ¿pero qué estoy diciendo?...faenan gracias a los novatos y al resto de la tripulación, yo diría que básicamente gracias al capitán que acierta tirando las nasas y acepta una responsabilidad que a cualquiera de nosotros nos parecería digna de un paracaidista en periodo bélico.

Pesca Radical es principalmente un documental que intenta reflejar la dureza de un trabajo que pocos hombres son capaces de llevar a cabo. También es una serie que permite observar la evolución de las tripulaciones y temporadas o mareas como ellos las llaman. Sea como fuere es adictiva en extremo, por su calidad y por sus protagonistas, por la fuerza de sus imágenes y por la realidad que esconden, por su originalidad y porque mola estar calentito en casa viendo como cuatro hombres congelados hasta las cejas sacan cangrejos con unas jaulas que pesan media tonelada y que cazan lanzando ganchos al más puro estilo rodeo.

A zillion nautical miles from my home in Palma is the Bering Sea, where the crab fishing. What is a crab?, Well easy, a crab fishing boat the size of vultures through a system loaded with bait traps ... no, no, no! a minute! But what am I saying? ... Fishing thanks to the novice and the rest of the crew, I would say basically that succeeds thanks to the captain pulling pots and accepts responsibility for any of us seem worthy of a paratrooper in period war.

Radical Fishing is primarily a documentary that attempts to reflect the toughness of a work that few men are able to perform. It is also a series that shows the evolution of the crews and seasons or tides as they call them. Whatever the case is extremely addictive for its quality and its protagonists, by force of his images and the reality that underlie, for its originality and because cool to be warm at home watching four men frozen to draw eyebrows crabs cages that weigh half a ton and they hunt by throwing hooks in the style of rodeo.

Cuentos de Terramar _ Gedo Senki (Tales from Earthsea) (2006)" Lo que hay que ver...

Estaba retrasando de manera consciente el visionado de la que ha resultado ser una de mis películas de animación preferidas. Dicho retraso venía a cuento de las críticas que rondaban por mi cabeza. Ursula K. Le Guin quería en primer lugar al padre y no al hijo (cautivada por Mi Vecino Totoro) como director de la adaptación de su obra literaria, y tras ver el resultado quedó descontenta. Además, hay que señalar que Hayao Miyazaki y su hijo, al cual a partir de ahora trataré con más respeto cinematográfico, estuvieron cuanto menos de "morritos" durante la producción del filme, de hecho, Hayao estaba en contra de que si hijo se encargara de la dirección; no obstante, el productor, viendo las dotes de Goro para la gestión del proyecto y su habilidad y destreza para el dibujo decidió darle la batuta al hijo. Con todo esto y unas notas algo a la baja en diferentes portales de cine, lo cierto es que estaba reticente y no encontraba el momento de plantarme en Terramar.

Para los que seguís de manera más o menos intermitente el blog, recordaréis que no son pocos los elogios que he dirigido hacia el maestro Miyazaki, desde Nausicaa hasta Ponyo pasando por Totoro. Ahora es justo apuntar con el dedo a Goro Miyazaki como un digno escudero y supongo que posterior sucesor de su padre y su manera de entender la animación. y ya tengo en mi punto de mira la película que dirigió en 2011 y que el amigo Javier Ramírez ha reseñado en su blog, la película se titula "From up on Poppy Hill".

La película Cuentos de Terramar para mí estrechamente relacionada con Nausicaa, sobre todo desde el punto de vista del medio ambiente y de la cantidad de mensajes ecologistas (sin tendencia política) que inundan la cinta; desde diálogos profundos a escenas y paisajes bellísimos. Posee una banda sonora que se acopla perfectamente, como un colibrí absorbiendo néctar. Obra musical compuesta por Tamiya Terashima con la participación de nuestro Carlos Núñez, todo un lujo.

No puedo dejar de recordar la hipótesis de Gaia como ya hiciera con Nausicaa, pues en todo momento se hace referencia al planeta como si de un gran ser vivo se tratara. Se plantea el tema del equilibrio y de cómo el hombre lo rompe, aunque yo considero esto antropocentrismo puro y duro.

Los personajes son maravillosos y sus luchas internas se reflejan en cada uno de los demás y sobre el territorio. La fantasía está al nivel del resto de las joyas Ghibli, con su lado oscuro y tenebroso muy bien desarrollado, de hecho, este tema hizo que fuera la primera película distribuida por Disney con la calificación PG-13.

Quizás Ursula K. Le Guin no quedara satisfecha con el resultado y quizás durante la producción de este largometraje la familia Miyazaki pasara una leve crisis. Yo tengo que decir que me da igual, como se suele decir que me quiten lo bailado, yo he disfrutado de lo lindo.

I was consciously delaying the viewing of which has proven to be one of my favorite animated films. This delay was made after the criticisms that were in my head. Ursula K. Le Guin wanted first to the father and son (mesmerized by My Neighbor Totoro) as director of the adaptation of his literary work, and after seeing the result was unhappy. Maybe Ursula K. Le Guin is not satisfied with the result and perhaps for the production of this film Miyazaki family spend a mild crisis. I have to say I do not care, as they say take away what I danced, I enjoyed a great time.

"Arrietty y el mundo de los diminutos_Karigurashi no Arrietty - Yukashita no kobito-tachi (The Borrowers) (The Secret World of Arrietty) (2010)" Minimalismo cinematográfico

La autora británica Mary Norton imaginó la historia de unos seres microhumanos escondidos fundamentalmente entre las paredes y techos de nuestros hogares, los cuales, de manera furtiva, realizaban sus cotidianas tareas pasando desapercibidos a su voluntad. Esta historia se cuajó en la primera mitad del siglo XX y desde entonces han sido varias las ocasiones en las que se ha llevado a la pantalla grande y pequeña. Yo sobre todo recuerdo la serie de dibujos animados estadounidense llamada "The Littles" y traducida en España como "Los diminutos", de tres temporadas y 29 episodios, así como también recuerdo la sosa película "Los Borrowers" de 1997.

Esta vez le ha tocado al famoso Estudio Ghibli convertir a los incursores en su enésima obra de arte de animación, eso sí, con un desenlace que a mi entender le resta calidad a la totalidad del film. Hasta que llega ese desenlace carente de imaginación y sobrante de lógica tenemos una película maravillosamente filmada, con una atención al detalle exquisita, con un argumento firme y con el suspense necesario para mezclarse con la estética visual y proporcionar al espectador dosis de gran cine, dejando lo del género a parte.

Como siempre las películas Ghibli trascienden el plano meramente infantil y se permite el visionado reflexivo y adulto, que a buen seguro disfrutarán en mayor grado. Como digo el único pero es su desenlace pero tendréis que verla para opinar, espero que así sea.

British author Mary Norton's story imagined beings fundamentally microhumanos hidden between the walls and ceilings of our homes, which, in a furtive manner, performing their daily tasks unnoticed at will. This story has caught on in the first half of the twentieth century and have since been several times that has led to the big screen and small. I mostly remember the American cartoon series called "The Littles" and translated in Spain as "Tiny" three seasons and 29 episodes, and also remember the soda movie "The Borrowers", 1997.

This time he has played the famous Studio Ghibli make the raiders in his umpteenth masterpiece of animation, albeit with an ending that in my view detract from quality to the entire film. Until we reach that outcome unimaginative and surplus of logic have a beautifully shot film, with exquisite attention to detail, with a strong plot and the suspense necessary to blend with the visual aesthetics and provide the viewer dose of great cinema, leaving what part of the genre.

As always Ghibli films transcend the purely child and allows the viewing thoughtful adult, who will surely enjoy it more. As I say the only but is the outcome but you'll have to see it to say, I hope so.

"Blancanieves y la leyenda del cazador_Snow White and the Huntsman (2012)" Espejo mágico busca reflejo para liarla parda

De un cuento cuyo origen se remonta al siglo XVI surge una película del siglo XXI que recupera una estupenda estética cinematográfica para el mundo de la fantasía épica, pero que adolece de un preocupante entusiasmo argumentativo, es decir, una obra descompensada.

Se trata de una historia que parece haber sido ideada para el mero entretenimiento y que desde mi punto de vista podría haber sido explotada de cara a convertirse en referente para que se desarrollasen más cuentos infantiles de esta forma, aunque eso quizás ocurra de todas formas.

Centrándonos en la parte estética-fotográfica-efectos especiales, ha sido un placer adentrarse en escenas con paisajes de cuento propiamente dichos, además de acercarse a mayor detalle con personajes y escenarios que hacen las delicias de los amantes del género fantástico.

Ojala el argumento hubiera evolucionado en concordancia con el espectáculo visual, pero más allá de ese craso error nos queda la interpretación de Theron como perversa y astuta reina con poderes de bruja y que cual vampiro fuera necesita de sangre joven para conservar su inmortal belleza.

Vale la pena ver esta cinta, quizá no valga tanto la pena pararse a examinar la historia, sólo saborearla un minuto como si se tratará de esos chicles que enseguida pierden su gracia, pero en general se deja ver y entretiene.

In a story dating back to the sixteenth century comes a film that recovers century a great film aesthetic to the world of epic fantasy, but it suffers from a worrying enthusiasm argumentative, that is, a work uncompensated.

Focusing on the aesthetic-photographic-effects, has been a pleasure to go into scenes tale landscapes themselves, as well as more detailed approach with characters and scenes that will delight fans of fantasy.
Hopefully the argument would have evolved in line with the visual spectacle, but beyond that we have huge mistake interpreting Theron as perverse and cunning queen witch powers and which vampire young blood was needed to preserve their immortal beauty.

Worth seeing this film, perhaps not worth so worth pausing to examine the history, only one minute taste as if it were of such chewing gum lose its grace immediately, but in general can be seen and entertains.

"American Horror Story (2011)" BURBRUJA INMOBILIARIA

Las casas embrujadas, encantadas, hechizadas, poseídas, malditas,..., han sido tema recurrente tanto en literatura como en el cine. Sucesos de todo tipo se asocian generalmente a mansiones del siglo XX o anteriores, casas con estructuras muy similares: escaleras que dan a un sótano sombrío y penumbroso, otras escaleras que dirigen a una buhardilla llena de trastos o completamente vacía y tenebrosa, un jardín con rosas rojas y un gato negro que merodea en busca de no se sabe bien qué y una niebla espesa que hace levitar los cimientos y que convierte la mansión en impenetrablemente oscura.

Si además de todo esto le sumamos un largo historial de macabros asesinatos tenemos como resultado nuestra Mansión en el Country Club Park de Los Angeles; una casa sospechosamente tirada de precio que alberga en su interior decorado de la manera más recargada posible fantasmas y poltergeist que habitan en ella desde su construcción a principios del siglo XX.

Con claros referentes como El Resplandor de Kubrik o La Semilla del Diablo de Polanski, recordad auqel Hotel perdido en medio de la nada y El edificio Dakota, esta serie del año pasado recupera un estilo muy atractivo visualmente y con una gran carga psicológica. Los nuevos propietarios de la Mansión, dejémoslo en embrujada, son una familia con problemas procedente de Boston que se instala sin saberlo en una casa en la que cualquier muerte queda para siempre ligada a la misma.

Quizás una de las claves de la serie sea la enorme carga psicológica que deben soportar los personajes, tanto de un lado como del otro; además de que la casa y la vecina (antigua propietaria) protagonizada por la excelente Jessica Lange comparten un extraño y perturbador vínculo e incluso yo diría que pacto.

Esta primera temporada me deja un buen sabor de boca, ciertamente con más "macabrismo" y morbo del necesario, pero con una historia original y que como he dicho recuerda en muchas de sus escenas a grandes clásicos del cine de terror. Según he podido descubrir la siguiente temporada presenta cambio geográfico y de historia...

LA SAGA DE HARRY POTTER: EL QUISQUILLOSO...

A golpe de varita mágica y pronunciado Reductio esta crítica podría resumirse con una simple advertencia: el que quiera disfrutar de las películas de esta saga que no se lea los libros.

Las adaptaciones de obras del calibre de Harry Potter merecen a los mejores profesionales del género, y debo decir que desde que Steve Kloves dejará la saga a la mitad de ésta se fue perdiendo parte de la esencia de la historia para pasar a convertirse paulatinamente en una serie de filmes sobre magia con mucha acción y poco peso argumental, con una falta de detalles que a mi parecer le van restando calidad a la historia que de manera tan brillante concluyó Rowling en Las Reliquias de la Muerte.

De los siete libros surgieron ocho películas, de las que a mi parecer, las dos primeras son las más fieles a las obras escritas y son las películas donde sin lugar a dudas los amantes de los libros encontrarán satisfechas sus expectativas. Esto es así porque básicamente se consigue transmitir lo esencial del personaje de Harry y se elaboró una excelente introducción a la historia y su contexto.

Las películas tercera y cuarta se tornaron al igual que los libros algo más siniestras y fueron ganando en madurez junto con la evolución de sus personajes principales. Sin embargo, ya empezaban a mostrar síntomas de abandono del argumento para centrarse más en la acción (efectos especiales), se fueron omitiendo aspectos casi fundamentales de la obra escrita que confieren a la historia de Harry Potter su encanto particular.

Con La Orden del Fénix (la quinta cinta) se consuma desde mi punto de vista el declive de la saga del joven mago, se pierde por mucho la dirección que marca la historia escrita por Rowling. Y este aspecto es muy importante, porque quizás este quinto libro y por ende la quinta película sean los más importantes a la hora de definir el futuro y posterior conclusión de la saga.

En El Príncipe Mestizo se aprovecha el potencial del personaje de Severus Snape para insuflar cierto grado de curiosidad en el espectador, sobre todo por el devenir de su relación con Harry, de tal modo que buena parte de los acontecimientos que acaecen en Las Reliquias de la Muerte giran en torno a esa relación de odio entre el profesor y el alumno, compañeros por otra parte de La Orden.

Y llegamos a Las Reliquias de la Muerte. Literariamente hablando no es el mejor libro a mi entender, aunque seguramente fuera el más esperado y menos deseado por los fans. Cinematográficamente es un acierto su división en dos partes pero toda una desilusión su resultado final. De nuevo se pierde de vista la esencia de la historia y las omisiones y saltos de tiempo me parecen imperdonables, sinceramente.

Como ya he comentado al principio mi perspectiva cinematográfica sobre esta saga se ve altamente influenciada por mi experiencia lectora. No cabe duda de que muchos espectadores habrán disfrutado de la saga e incluso la consideren excelente, pero también me temo que aquellos a los que les gusten las adaptaciones ajustadas habrán echado en falta infinidad de detalles que permiten el gozo cuando se lee.

A stroke of magic wand and uttered Reductio this review could be summarized with a simple warning: whoever wants to enjoy movies in this saga is not read books.

Adaptations of works by the caliber of Harry Potter deserve the best professionals of the genre, and I must say that since the series will Steve Kloves half of it was lost at the heart of the story to move to gradually become a series of films about magic with lots of action and light weight of argument, with a lack of detail that I think you are subtracting quality to the story that so brilliantly concluded Rowling in The Deathly Hallows.

Of the seven books came eight films, of which in my opinion, the first two are the most faithful to the written works and films which are undoubtedly the book lovers will find their expectations met. This is because basically it manages to convey the essence of the character of Harry and developed an excellent introduction to the history and context.The third and fourth movies turned books as something more sinister and were becoming more mature with the development of its main characters. However, already beginning to show signs of abandoning the argument to focus more on the action (special effects), they went skipping about fundamental aspects of the written work that give the story of Harry Potter its charm.

With Order of the Phoenix (the fifth tape) is consumed from my point of view the decline of the boy wizard saga, is lost by far the direction of the story written by Rowling. And this aspect is very important, because maybe this fifth book and thus the fifth film to be the most important in defining the future and subsequent conclusion of the saga.

In Half-Blood Prince takes advantage of the potential character of Severus Snape to inject a degree of curiosity in the viewer, especially the evolution of his relationship with Harry, so that many of the events that occur in The Deathly Hallows revolve around that hate relationship between teacher and student, colleagues on the other part of the Order.

And we come to The Deathly Hallows. Literary terms is not the best book to me, but probably was the most expected and least desired by fans. Cinematically is a wise move its division into two parts but any disappointment the final outcome. Again we lose sight of the essence of history and time gaps and breaks seem unforgivable, really.

As I said at first my perspective on this film series is heavily influenced by my reading experience. There is no doubt that many viewers have enjoyed the series and even considered excellent, but I fear that those who like tight adaptations have missed countless details that allow the joy when reading.

"Los Vengadores_The Avengers (2012)" El ojo por ojo de los Superhéroes

Hace casi 50 años Stan Lee y Jack Kirby engendraron la idea de juntar superhéroes de la Marvel Comics bajo el nombre de Los Vengadores (The Avengers). Esta idea venía camuflada tras una necesidad real de competir con DC Comics y su Liga de la Justicia con personajes de la talla de Superman, Batman o Linterna Verde entre otros. Quizá una de las ventajas con las que a mi modo de ver cuentan los Vengadores es su mejor acoplamiento con una realidad más paralela al mundo que nosotros vivimos; en el tema político y social sobre todo.

Dejando de lado este escueto resumen de la intrahistoria del cómic y yendo a la película, tengo que decir que las críticas que había leído fueron del todo acertadas, con más atino aquellas que aludían de manera más concreta a la vena cómica. No obstante, la dosis de acción y superpoderes bárbaros está asegurada y es de excelente calidad técnica.

Desde que viera Buffy, de esto hace ya más de una década, me quedó claro que Joss Whedon imprimía un sello muy particular a sus producciones, guiones e incluso composiciones musicales. La originalidad que transfiere a cada uno de sus trabajos es para mi lo más importante, y aunque ciertamente tiene que gustarte su manera de hacer televisión y cine (últimamente), si es de tu agrado ya no habrá marcha atrás. Como muchos críticos han apuntado Whedon es la clave para entender el éxito de esta película que ha costado 220 millones de $ y que ya se ha convertido en una de los cinco filmes más taquilleros de la historia y todavía sigue en cartelera. Para Whedon el mundo del cómic no era para nada extraño, de hecho ya llevaba años publicando para series como La Patrulla X o sus propias creaciones con los cómics de Buffy y Angel, ambos de temática vampírica.

Tampoco vayamos a volvernos locos. Desde luego la película lo tiene todo para entretener y sólo por ello y por las cifras de recaudación está más que justificado que ya se esté trabajando en la secuela. Pero obviamente hay que limitar su impacto artístico a esa franja de entretenimiento a nivel mundial o para todos los públicos. Es una cinta fiel al cine de acción y con guiños constantes a la comedia absurda que muy inteligentemente Whedon nos va inoculando a medida que la historia avanza. Además trata la ciencia ficción y la fantasía con mimo y yo diría que incluso dulzura, cada detalle parece haber sido diseñado hasta la su más ínfima expresión y la experiencia en el cine es placentera y rejuvenecedora.

Ojala todas las películas de la Marvel tuvieran el nivel de Los Vengadores, por lo menos siempre nos quedará esta maravilla del espectáculo, más allá del reparto o de su acogida en la taquilla. Os la recomiendo a tod@s.

Almost 50 years ago Stan Lee and Jack Kirby engendered the idea of collecting the Marvel Comics superhero by the name of the Avengers (The Avengers). This idea had been hidden behind a real need to compete with DC Comics and Justice League with the likes of Superman, Batman and Green Lantern and more. Perhaps one of the advantages which in my view have the Avengers is the best coupling with a parallel reality to the world that we live, in the political and social issue in particular.

Leaving aside this brief summary of the intra comics and going to the movie, I have to say that the reviews I read were quite successful, with more hit upon those which referred more specifically to the comic vein. However, the dose of action and barbarians superpowers is assured and is of excellent quality.

Since I saw Buffy, this for over a decade, it became clear that Joss Whedon printed a very special stamp their productions, scripts and even musical compositions. The originality that transfers to each of its work is for me the most important, although certainly have to like their way of doing television and film (most recently), if you like it there will be no turning back. As many critics have pointed Whedon is the key to understanding the success of this film that cost $ 220 million and already has become one of the five highest grossing films in history and is still in theaters. For the comic book world Whedon was not at all strange, in fact had already been publishing for years as The X-series or your own creations with Buffy and Angel comics, both vampire theme.

Nor are going to go crazy. Of course the film has everything to entertain and just for that and for the collection figures is more than justified that is already working on the sequel. But obviously you have to limit its impact artistic entertainment strip that globally or for all audiences. It's a movie faithful to the movies with action and constant winks absurd comedy cleverly inoculating Whedon is going as the story progresses. Also is science fiction and fantasy with care and I would say even sweetness, every detail seems to have been designed to the minutest expression and experience in film is enjoyable and rejuvenating.

Hopefully all the Marvel movies have the level of the Avengers, at least we'll always have this wonder of the show, beyond the division or its reception at the box office. I recommend it to all of you s.

"El origen del planeta de los simios_Rise of the planet of the apes (2011)" CAMBIO PLÁTANOS POR BANANA SPLIT

Es posible que desde la mona Chita no haya sentido tanto afecto y respeto por un primate como lo he sentido por César, un simio con la capacidad de raciocinio de Einstein y los dotes de mando del General Lancaster.

Recuerdo que el primer visionado de "El planeta de los simios", la versión protagonizada por Heston, no me impacto lo suficiente como para considerarla digna de elogios; con un argumento algo desestructurado adornado con un final impactante abierto a secuelas.

Lo cierto es que en esta precuela existen a mi modo de ver dos puntos fundamentales para su elogio. En primer lugar su guión, que da buena cuenta del origen de aquel planeta de los simios que pudimos ver el milenio pasado. El segundo tiene que ver con la estética del simio, puesto que en la película de 1968 poco tienen que ver los primates a los que estamos acostumbrados, además, de que en esta precuela se suman más especies como orangutanes o gorilas.

Para mi lo más destacable es la implicación a la que se ve obligada el espectador, en tanto en cuanto apela a nuestra humanidad, véase en todos los sentidos, para hacernos sentir culpables y partícipes de que la revolución de los simios tenga lugar, asimismo afloran ansias de protección en contra de aquellos que usan a ciertos animales como meros instrumentos para llegar a un fin global de lucha contra enfermedades.

También destaca la acción tanto como el drama, con escenas emotivas mezcladas con grandes escenas de persecución.

En resumen, vale mucho la pena esta precuela que permite darle más sentido a la primera obra cinematográfica. También con interpretaciones a muy buen nivel con nuevas y viejas estrellas, y sobre todo una historia muy bien trenzada y servida en su punto. Cuidado que ya está en marcha la secuela de la precuela.

PS. Si tienes mascota, es muy posible que al final de la película la mires con otros ojos...inquietante.

The truth is there in this prequel to my mind two key points for yourcompliment. First, its script, which gives a good account of the origin of Planet of the Apes auqel we saw the last millennium. The second tierne to do with the aesthetics of the ape, as in the 1968 film have little to do primates to which we are accustomed,moreover, that in this prequel will add more species such asorangutans and gorillas.

For me the highlight is the implication to which the viewer is forced,in that it appeals to our humanity, see in every way, to make us feelguilty and participants in the revolution of the Apes takes place alsoemerge desire for protection against those who use certain animals as mere instruments to reach an overall goal of disease control.

It also highlights the action as well as drama, with emotional scenesmixed with great chase scenes.

In short, it is so worth this prequel, affording more sense to the firstfilm work. Also with a very good level performances with new andold stars, and above all a story well braided and served to perfection. Care that is underway the sequel to the prequel.

PS. If you have pets, ews quite possible that at the end of the filmthe look with different eyes ... disturbing.

"Will & Grace (1998-2006)" Voluntad y Gracia

En el año 1998, la NBC apostó, cabe decir que sin mucha convicción de éxito, en una serie sobre gays y heteros de dudosas aspiraciones morales y carentes de seriedad, es decir, unos excéntricos de mucho cuidado. Esta sitcom se convirtió en seguida en uno de los shows televisivos más seguidos, capaz de hacer sombra a la mismísima Friends: hay para hacerse cruces. En fin, aquellos de vosotros que la hayáis visto alguna vez habréis notado que la serie no es nada novedosa, puesto que trata sobre situaciones "reales" (un poco sacadas de contexto en la mayoría de ocasiones) entre personas "cotidianas" (poco creíbles es quedarse algo corto). Para mi, su éxito radica precisamente en que intenta tratar temas triviales de forma hiperbólica y disparatada, aludiendo de manera casi continua a la vida de los famosos estadounidenses, convertidos (nefasta decisión por cierto) en españoles por los dobladores.

Que una mujer se enamore de un homosexual ocurre hasta en las mejores familias, que acaben viviendo juntos como si fueran pareja es posible pero poco probable. Que esto ocurra en Nueva York, en el Upper West Side de Manhattan para más señas, lo hace algo más creíble, y que esta singular pareja acabe asociándose con otra pareja formada por otro gay moldeado por la santísima Cher y una ricachona drogadicta y alcohólica que campa a sus anchas por la ciudad vuelve a ser sospechosamente poco plausible. Voluntad y gracia, que es la traducción de Will & Grace, además de dos nombres propios, resumen las características de los protagonistas, la voluntad de encontrar pareja y la gracia por la que la suerte sonríe al dúo (y al cuarteto cuando pertenece) con excesiva regularidad.

Dicho esto, hay que valorar positivamente la cara entretenida de la serie que es lo que a mi me ha permitido llegar hasta el último capítulo (187 en total) de sus ocho temporadas. A este entretenimiento y divertimiento sobre locazas y mujeres desesperadas, hay que sumar también el apartado de los cameos. Los cameos, sobre todo a partir de la tercera temporada, se convierten en un elemento más del show y en una herramienta para captar más adeptos. Las apariciones de famosos no cesan y a medida que se avanza estrellas de mayor envergadura van apareciendo ya sea para poner la cara o para quedarse unos cuantos episodios. Por poner algunos ejemplos entre muchos: Sidney Pollack, Cher, Britney Spears, Patrick Dempsey, Madonna, Harry Connick Jr, Woody Harrelson, John Cleese, Geena Davis, Miguel Ferrer, Matt Damon, Andy García, Elton John, Jennifer Lopez, Janet Jackson, Ellen DeGeneres, Minnie Driver, Macaulay Culkin, Alec Baldwin, Jack Black, James Earl Jones, Rosie O'Donnell, Demi Moore, Sharon Stone, Luke Perry, Jeff Goldblum, Kevin Bacon, Michael Douglas, Glenn Close, Gene Wilder, Tom Skerritt, etc.

A los que os guste la comedia que recurre a la parodia constante no os defraudará Will & Grace, al resto seguramente acabe aburriéndole y pareciendo muy monótona y carente de originalidad. Recomiendo a los que se lo planteen que la vean en versión original, porque la versión doblada está plagada de chistes sin sentido y frases sobre famosos españoles que no pegan ni con cola con los contextos pensados para los Estados Unidos. Con todo siempre nos quedarán las interpretaciones del cuarteto Will & Grace y Karen & Jack (de estos dos últimos se rumoreaba con la posibilidad de realizar un spin-off), magníficos en sus roles y cómicos impagables.

TO GAY OR NOT TO GAY

In 1998, NBC bet it can be said without much conviction that success in a series on gays and straights of dubious moral aspirations and lack of seriousness, that is, about eccentric carefully. Whether this happens in New York on the Upper West Side of Manhattan to be exact, it makes it more credible, and that this unique pair became associated with another gay couple formed by other molding the Blessed Cher and drug addict and alcoholic rich guyrampant in the city again becomes suspiciously implausible. Will and grace, which is the translation of Will & Grace, and two names, summarizes the characteristics of the protagonists, will find romance and grace that luck smiles at the duo (and the quartet when it belongs) too regularly.

That said, there has to be welcomed entertaining face in the series which is what has allowed me to reach the last chapter (187 in total) of his eight seasons. In this entertaining and fun on locazas and desperate women, we must add also the section of the cameos. The cameos, especially from the third season, become an element of the show and a tool to attract more followers. The appearances of famous and not stop as you go larger stars are appearing either to put the face or to stay a few episodes. To give some examples among many: Sydney Pollack, Cher, Britney Spears, Patrick Dempsey, Madonna, Harry Connick Jr, Woody Harrelson, John Cleese, Geena Davis, Miguel Ferrer, Matt Damon, Andy Garcia, Elton John, Jennifer Lopez, Janet Jackson Ellen DeGeneres, Minnie Driver, Macaulay Culkin, Alec Baldwin, Jack Black, James Earl Jones, Rosie O'Donnell, Demi Moore, Sharon Stone, Luke Perry, Jeff Goldblum, Kevin Bacon, Michael Douglas, Glenn Close, Gene Wilder, Tom Skerritt, etc.

At you like comedy that relies on constant parody will not disappoint Will & Grace, the rest will probably end up bored and looking very dull and lacking originality. I recommend it to those who raise them to see the original version, because the dubbed version is full of jokes and meaningless phrases about Spanish celebrities that do not stick or glue to the contexts designed for the United States.But always be the quartet's interpretations Will & Grace and Karen & Jack (the latter two are rumored to the possibility of a spin-off), magnificent in their roles and priceless comic.

"La carga de la brigada ligera _ The Charge of the Light Brigade (1936)" ¿UN "ECUESTRICIDIO" JUSTIFICADO?

Antes de ir al trapo con la crítica de esta notable película de aventuras bélicas a caballo entre la India y la Península de Crimea, quiero hacer una reflexión histórica sobre el cine que tanto nos gusta y nos emociona. Hemos escuchado muchas veces ese pseudoleyenda (digo pseudo porque nunca he podido contrastarla) de que las zapatillas deportivas o los balones los tejen niños coléricos y famélicos en fábricas dejadas de la mano de Dios. Aun oliéndose uno que parece bastante verídico lo cierto es que no dejas de comprarte unas bambas de esa marca en particular. Esto viene a que antiguamente, para producir una película, era bastante frecuente el uso de animales, sin ir más lejos en esta cinta de 1936 veremos elefantes, leopardos y sobre todo caballos. A raíz de esta película y de algunas otras de la época, se tomo conciencia del maltrato que sufrían los animales en los rodajes. En este rodaje en particular se tuvieron que sacrificar muchos caballos debido al empleo de la técnica de la W continua (os recomiendo ver el vídeo de abajo), que básicamente consistía en hacer tropezar al caballo cuando se quería mediante cables o cuerdas, con lo que el caballo se daba de bruces contra el suelo quedando mal herido mientras el jinete saltaba justo en el momento preciso para evitarlo. No obstante esta miseria cinematográfica que me revuelve la conciencia y el estómago, la película es digna de mención y de ser visionada.

Tanto en la actualidad como en el momento en que se produjo su estreno, el principal aliciente de la película era/es su estrella masculina Errol Flynn. Flynn (un pobre diablo de Tasmania si se me permite el apodo) fue un hombre con un increíble potencial físico que pudo perfectamente haberse dedicado al deporte profesional. Sin embargo encamino su vida hacia el lado más oscuro y decadente abusando de drogas y alcohol, y convirtiéndose en uno de los mujeriegos más empedernidos que Hollywood y el celuloide hayan conocido. Eso no quita que nos haya brindado toda una serie de películas, sobre todo de aventuras, con grandes dosis de acción, en muchas de las cuales fue de la mano de Michael Curtiz, no por amistad (no se tragaban) sino por contratos de las grandes productoras. En esta cinta Errol Flynn se comporta como el perfecto capitán del ejército de su majestad la Reina Victoria durante su ocupación de la gran península índica y durante una etapa de conflictos fronterizos que desembocaron en la batalla de Balaklava en 1854 durante la Guerra de Crimea, de la cual se hace eco esta película.

La película precisamente se inspira en los hechos que acontecieron en esa batalla y en su desencadenante. Cabe destacar que aunque los nombres son reales la historia está muy cambiada, aunque ese ya es tema para tratar en una tertulia sobre historia. Destacan los grandes paisajes que recuerdan a aquellos territorios de tribus indias fronterizas y que realmente se desarrollan sobre suelo desértico californiano, unos decorados que fueron, según cuenta el propio Flynn, Niven o la dulce de Havilland un auténtico infierno por los fuertes contrastes térmicos, pero sobre todo por la actitud de sus compañeros de reparto, ya que tanto Niven como Flynn acabaron confraternizando y liándola parda cada vez que se les antojaba.

Curtiz está impecable en la dirección, como nos tiene acostumbrados por otra parte. Sin embargo es de mención la gran ayuda que supuso tanto los editores del film como productores artísticos que fueron capaces de engendrar junto con Curtiz, una de las primeras grandes cargas a caballo de la historia del cine, con un ritmo trepidante y perfectamente acompañado por la música de uno de los considerados como el padre de las bandas sonoras como fue Max Steiner.

No cabe duda de que se está delante de una gran obra del cine cuando se visiona La carga de la brigada ligera, y aunque en la actualidad se haya podido quedar anticuada lo cierto es que no sólo entretiene sino que lo hace como debe hacerse: desde la conjunción de dirección, guión y música. Con eso el resto viene solo. ¡Que la disfruten!

Errol Flynn in this film acts as the perfect captain of the army of Her Majesty Queen Victoria during their occupation of the great peninsula indica and during a period of border disputes that led to the Battle of Balaklava in 1854 during the Crimean War of which echoes the film.

The film is based precisely on the facts that happened in that battle and its trigger.Note that although the names are real, the story is much changed, although that is already subject to treat in a discussion about history. No doubt that is in front of a great work of cinema when viewed the burden of the Light Brigade, and although it is now outdated any remaining fact is that not only entertains but does so as one should, from the combination of direction, script and music. Gracias al amigo Outsider de Cine con alma y Películas extraordinarias he descubierto al desafortunadamente fallecido Satoshi Kon y Tokyo Godfather ha sido la escogida para mi bautismo en su filmografía. Tengo que decir que la experiencia fílmica ha sido excelente.

En las calles de cada ciudad del mundo viven indigentes, marginados, gente sola y sin hogar, vagabundos y almas errantes de esquina en esquina que se ahogan en el alcohol barato y sobre la mugre acartonada...o al menos eso es con lo que me quedo yo en la mayoría de ocasiones tras echar un furtivo vistazo. La animación de Satoshi Kon nos permite alcanzar a ver otra perspectiva de ese mundo que está tan cerca y tan lejos a la vez, una mirada a las personas más allá de su condición pero sin olvidar que ese escenario lo condiciona todo de uno u otro modo.

La Navidad es una fiesta que a medida que crecemos pierde en muchos casos su valor por cuestiones que a mi me parecen retorcidas. Nos obligamos a pasar la Navidad como un período para estar con la familia y las connotaciones y costumbres religiosas más proclives a la alegría acaban por ser un caldo de cultivo para la tristeza, el desarraigo y la melancolía por extrañar toda una serie de cosas que cuando eramos pequeños dábamos por supuestas e inmutables. La película de Kon alude en mayor o menor medida a ese sentimiento navideño desde la cara más amarga, y ya desde un principio queda bastante claro que no nos vamos a encontrar de frente con el espíritu de la fiesta sino con su reverso más oscuro. Y es así, con crudeza y desafiando al espectador, como Kon consigue penetrar nuestras corazas para hacernos ver una realidad que a pocos se nos escapa pero que la mayoría intenta obviar y de la que se derivan ciertas reflexiones que yo resumiría en la siguiente pregunta: ¿porqué no puede ser siempre navidad e intentar tener los propósitos que se tienen todo un año?

Pero la Navidad sólo es el telón de fondo de la relación que se establece entre los protagonistas de la historia, unos protagonistas que dicho sea de paso, representan tres casos particulares y diferenciados por sus personalidades pero con pasados similares, pasados que se van descubriendo de manera inteligente a medida que van desarrollándose los acontecimientos. Nos os los describo porque vale la pena toparse con ellos e ir conociéndolos poco a poco.

Antes de acabar con la crítica de Tokyo Godfathers, una breve mención merece el estilo de los dibujos que escapan al colorido habitual que podemos encontrar en Disney o en los Estudios Ghibli. Son unas animaciones penumbrosas y cercanas a la imagen real, cosa que dota a esta película de mayor adecuación a un público juvenil tirando a adulto, no sólo en cuanto a la historia se refiere sino también al propio dibujo. Os recomiendo a los que no la hayáis visto aun que sin ninguna duda lo hagáis, sobre todo porque cuenta una historia que transmite información valiosa y que lleva a la reflexión mediante una animación poderosamente atractiva e impactante en no pocos fotogramas.

THE FAMILY

On the streets of every city in the world live poor, marginalized, lonely and homeless people, vagrants and wandering souls from corner to corner drowning in alcohol dirt cheap and stiff ... or at least that is what you I'll stay in most cases after casting a furtive glance. Satoshi Kon's animation allows us to reach another perspective view of the world that is so close and so far at a time, people look beyond their condition but without forgetting that this scenario is mainly conditioned one way or another.

Christmas is a holiday that as we grow loses its value in many cases for reasons that seem twisted to me. We undertake to spend Christmas as a time to be with family and religious customs connotations and more likely to end up being a happy breeding ground for sadness, melancholy and uprooting a number of surprising things when we were small we took for granted and immutable. Kon's film alludes to a greater or lesser extent to that Christmas feeling bitter from the face, and since a principle is quite clear that we will meet face to face with the spirit of the holiday but with his back darker. And so, in stark and challenging the viewer, as Kon manages to penetrate our armor to show us just a reality that escapes us but most people try to avoid and which are derived certain reflections that can be summarized in the following question: Why can not always be Christmas and try to get the proposals that you have a whole year?

But Christmas is just the backdrop for the relationship established between the protagonists of the story, some players who incidentally represent three different cases and for their personalities but similar past, after they are discovered inintelligently as they happen events. We will describe them because it's worth bumping into them and get to know them slowly.

Before leaving Tokyo Godfathers criticism, deserves a brief mention of the style of the drawings beyond the usual colors that can be found at Disney or Studio Ghibli. Animations are a shadowy and near-real image, which gives this film more appropriate for a young audience throwing adult, not only in terms of history but also refers to drawing itself. I recommend that you have not yet seen that without any doubt, to judge, especially because it tells a story that conveys valuable information that leads to reflection by a powerfully attractive and impressive animation in quite a few frames.

"Prince of Persia: Las arenas del tiempo _ Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time (2010)" DE LA LÁMPARA MÁGICA A LA DAGA PARA VIAJAR EN EL TIEMPO

Explotar un videojuego cinematográficamente ha dado en los últimos años muy buenos resultados en la industria del cine. Lejos queda ya aquel esperpento llamado Super Mario Bros de 1993. Prince of Persia (POP) parte de la ventaja de tratar una temática que ya ha sido llevada a la gran pantalla en pocas ocasiones y en general con más éxito que fracaso. De todas formas, no pasa de ser un mero entretenimiento y poco ahonda en giros de guión o grandes esfuerzos argumentales.

Hay que destacar básicamente dos cosas de esta cinta. Primero la acción, que sin duda se convierte en el principal activo del film, con gran cantidad de acrobacias y peleas de gran recorrido temporal pero de poco calado emocional. En segundo lugar el reparto, donde el protagonista y el antagonista están francamente bien y donde los secundarios cumplen y en ocasiones se elevan más allá del proscenio cinematográfico, si es que existe tal cosa.

Se puede discutir si POP tiene algo de Aladino y su lámpara maravillosa, sobre todo en cuanto al personaje principal se refiere, ya que ambos surgen de la nada y la miseria para unirse a reyes y reinas, a príncipes y princesas; y lo cierto es que también existen paralelismos con los elementos mágicos, en este caso en lugar de una lámpara y su respectivo genio tenemos una daga en cuya empuñadura se esconde una mágica arena capaz de hacer retroceder en el tiempo a su portador.

En definitiva, una película más de esas que extrae todo el jugo económico de los videojuegos, que sirve para entretener y que hará las delicias de los auténticos fans del príncipe persa, si es que hay alguno.

FROM MAGIC LAMP TO THE DAGGER TO TRAVEL IN TIME

Exploiting a cinematically game has in recent years very well in the film industry.Gone are those eyesore called Super Mario Bros, 1993. Prince of Persia (POP) portion of the advantage of treating a subject that has been brought to the bigscreen a few times and generally with more success than failure. Anyway, no more than mere entertainment and little twists delves into great efforts script orplot.

There are basically two things to note from this tape. First action, which undoubtedly becomes the main asset of the film, with lots of stunts and fightsgreat ride but shallow temporary emotional. Second cast, where the protagonist and antagonist are really well and where the side met and sometimes rise beyondthe proscenium film, if there is such a thing.

Arguably, POP has something of Aladdin and his magic lamp, especially as the main character is concerned, since both come out of nowhere and want to join thekings and queens, princes and princesses, and the truth is there are also parallels with the magical elements, in this case instead of a genie lamp and have their respective dagger in the handle hides a magical sand able to go back in time to its wearer.

In short, a movie more than those that extracts all the juice out of the gameeconomically, serving to entertain and to delight fans of authentic Persian prince, if any.
