Everyone loves matching, right!?! And if you're like me wearing the minimum goes a long way. I absolutely hate when people throw on a bunch of pieces and call it fashion & style. Wearing too much will just make you look like you're trying to hard and most likely you will look ridiculous! Even though it is nice not looking like that you sometimes have to take risks. Have you ever mixed prints, fabrics, or textures? If you have- wasn't it liberating. Didn't you feel fashion forward. The most popular mixture is leather and lace...it's different but pretty safe, right? Well if you are not following me...today I will give you inspiration on how to mix different prints and fabrics that just some how look great! They aren't really supposed to look good but for some reason they just work! So let's get started. For the first collection I'm going to way out there. DOTS ON DOTS. For this look I've paired a polka dot blouse, a leopard skirt, black patent leather pumps and for the accessories I added some black and gold earrings and ring, and finally a clutch that ties the entire look together with the gold, pale orange, and black handle. The orange gives this look a pop of color! You must agree- these pieces are so random but for some reason it just works!

ASOS Dresses

This look focuses on pairing conflicting styles. A sweat shirt which you normally wear while working out or lounging around the house; paired with a button up shirt and some pastel skinny jeans. I've also added some nude platform pumps and a quilted bag. The gray sweatshirt and the silver chain on the purse moved me to pair this look with some silver jewelry. This look is definitely an example of mixing fabrics and styles!

Rihanna's Wacky London Style

Right after the Grammy's and her birthday celebration, Rihanna whisked off to London for an awards performance. Since touching down in London RiRi has changed up her style dramatically. When she dyed her hair blonde I felt like the old Rihanna was coming back- for the better of course. Her style showed hints of her fashion forward style from back in the day. But I guess I was wrong. She looks like she went in a time machine to the 80s. She's been rocking caps, varsity jackets, ripped jean shorts, and over sized clothing in general. Check out a few of her looks above.

And in honor of what I do on this blog I've styled a look similar to Rihanna's. I definitely tried to make this as appealing as possible and honestly I think my look is more stylish than her crazy look- no offense Rihanna. Let's look at her most current diaster which she is wearing today in London...

Lil Kim on Bravo TV & That Dress

Wow! I'm actually very impressed by the original Queen B, Lil' Kim. She appeared on Bravo TV for Andy's "Watch What Happens: LIVE" show. Of course, when I heard about it I was like, "Oh lawd...here she goes talking about Nicki Minaj- hating and trying to get some attention!" But I was wrong. She did really good not focusing on Nicki...until the hosts started the subject. Apparently Kim and Andy were vibing and flirting and just having fun; but then a co-host appeared impatiently and decided to start asking Kim about Nicki. He wanted to know what she thought about Nicki Minaj's performance at the Grammy's. Kim responded by saying, "I don't even know -- who?". Since he didn't get a real reaction out of Kim Andy decided to ask her about Nicki's song, "Stupid Hoe" which an auidence member wrote in about, asking if Nicki was speaking of Lil' Kim in the song...and within a second Kim's face turned and she responded with a smile and giggle, "If you have to make a song called 'Stupid Hoe,' you must BE a stupid hoe." and the crowd went bananas. Whoa! Get em Kim!

But as we all know this site is celebrity drama with a fashion twist. I was really glad to see Kim looking so good. She is still sexy but its more grown & sexy. She wore a Brian Lichtenberg one shoulder dress, some sexy over the knee boots, a Be-Amun bracelet, and diamond hoop earrings. I love this entire look. Thoughts? Kim Kardashian...I'm so ashamed of her and her "reality" ways but one thing positive I can say about her is she is so fashion forward. She always looks so perfect and her style is amazing. I've always had a style crush on her and at one point this blog was basically a Kim K' fan page. Lol. Not on purpose though. I still love her style even though everything she has been doing lately is just so nerve wrecking. Uhhh! But Kim was spotted in January leaving the Beverly Hills Shade Salon rocking all black on black, which is so sexy. Wearing black is so good for everyone- it's stylish, simple, and it makes you look thinner!

Jessica Alba was spotted in NYC: East Village rocking a Sportmax peacoat paired with some green skinny jeans, black ankle booties, a red shoulder bag, and some red lip stick. This is definitely color blocking but I'm not sure how I feel about it yet. What do you think? So I'm totally NOT a sneaker kinda girl but the other day I saw this girl chilling with something so simple on with some dope Coach sneakers- she looked so cute! Effortless stylish, ya know. And I had recently eye balled some Coach sneakers at my local Marshall's store but I thought they were too expensive- so I talked myself out of buying them. I hate spending a lot of money on one item. Uhhh! It kills me! But after I saw this girl I was like let me go online to find some that are cheaper. I found a pair of classic ones like in this post below. They were on sale for $49.99 but they didn't have my size. So I got the nerve up to go back to Marshall's. I got the last pair that were in my size! Yes! So it all started here...with some Coach sneakers. And that is what inspired this post...how to style Coach sneakers. The shoes are so classic, simple, and stylish...I love them. So instantly I thought I need play with print since the shoes had the signature C print so adding a striped blazer made this look more interesting. I then decided to wear blue, white, brown pieces, with gold and silver jewelry. Check out how I styled my designer shoes. Oh BTW I would rather rock Coach sneakers than a Coach bag! Love them!

Another one of my fav celebs at fashion week is Cassie! I've styled a look similar to her bizarre way of dressing up sweat pants. I don't think I would ever wear something like this especially not to fashion week. Cassie paired some sweat pants with a cropped leather jacket, a plaid shirt around her waist, some ankle booties, and random accessories. Her hair and make-up are flawless. And check out that ring! Well damn...how many parties and launches did Nicki Minaj go to in one day, sheesh! Can you say #grinding. Ms Minaj not only was spotted arriving the Good Morning America set on a different occassion and at a MAC Store in NYC to promote the products, but she was also spotted at the official MAC Cosmetics Viva Glam party at Stage 37 in the BIG APPLE! She rocked an affordable dress from Forever21 at the last stop but for this party she decided to wear a Nanette Lepore dress and matching blazer while adding a Chanel bag and a pair of Giuseppe Zanotti Two-Toned Swirl sandals. I'm not really feeling this look but I'm in love with the bag, shoes, and bangles. I searched the internet to find the bangles with no luck. If anyone finds them let me know. Other celebs that attended the party included Ricky Martin, Kelly Osbourne, Eglantina Zing, and John Demsey. What do you think of Nicki's look? Would you rock it?

Cassie debuted her new music video for "King of Hearts" and all I need to say is I love Cassie because her style is simply amazing! As far as those speaking on whether she has talent or not I say- WHATEVER. She has the resources and the money to do what the hell she wants! I actually like the song and the video is really good. Ciara was recently spotted in Beverly Hills going to a local salon as always. She basically lives in the salon, right!?! Lol. Boring...but anyway, she was rocking some amazing red Rag & Bone skinny jeans paired with some black over-the-knee boots, a white top, a leopard belt, an oversized bag, a nice leather bracelet, and sunglasses. I love this look and recently saw Kristin Cavallari rocking something similar. The colored jeans are hawt! Some people aren't into them yet but this is a trend you want to add to your closet! And take note- red and leopard is hawt! I've styled a look inspired by Miss CiCi below. The jeans are the actual jeans she is wearing so they are a bit pricey however, all the other items are for less!

Ms Minaj is putting in work today! Sheesh! Just when I felt so disappointed in her for her crazy arrival & appearance at the Grammy's- she is making up for that immediately! Her hustle will over shadow her mistakes! Right!?!

She rocked a bright orange and pink get up that I'm not really happy about but whatev! Lol. But one thing that stood out the most was her gold dagger nails. Monica, Brandy and Clive Davis speak on Whitney Houston's influence.

I'm still in shock just like the rest of the world. I woke up to find out that Whitney Houston passed away. The news is so heartbreaking. I've never been a Whitney fanatic but whether you were a hardcore fan or not you know she is the Queen of Pop and R&B. Whenever someones passes away it always touches my heart because quite honestly I'm afraid of death but I'm not afraid to admit that. Celebrities live a different life than us and because their lives are so public we feel like we know them. We know them from their works of art, from reality TV, news, and from millions of magazines, books, etc on newstands and online. So when a celebrity passes its like a good friend passed. I'm also glad that I'm normal- don't laugh...I'm serious because when I heard the news I can 100% guarantee that nothing bad crossed my mind like some morons on twitter and facebook! People are so disrespectful...people posted some very hurtful things about her passing. Things that I dare repeat because it shouldn't be entertained. It definitely should be ignored. What we need to focus on his her life, her work, and her daughters future. People need to realize you wouldn't like anyone saying anything bad if that was your Mother who died no matter what kind of life she lived. Poor Bobbi Christina! The news is sad alone...but when I saw pictures from a few nights ago with Whitney and Bobbi Christina- all smiles on the red carpet- I really lost it. That poor girl. And I just heard on facebook that because of all the anxiety she was rushed to the hospital. So please keep the family in your thoughts and prayers! I'm praying that she recovers and heals from her mother's passing. I think that if she deals with this properly, heals and finds positively from this she will be the NEW QUEEN OF POP! I hear she can really sing- so maybe she will honor her mother by taking her spot!

Ciara was recently spotted arriving at a salon to get dolled up. Ciara is usually put together in full hair & make-up but occassionally you will find her laid back as pictured. This just goes to show that you can be laid back or have a bad hair day but still be styled to perfection. If your hair is jacked up- throw on a dope hat...if your feet hurt and you don't feel like rockin heels- put some stylish sandals or flip flops on! And if its too cold just add some flats.

Ciara is rocking a simple red tee, some ripped jeans, flip flops, a Louis Vuitton dog carrier (with two cute doggies in it), a beaded bracelet, a cap, and some sunglasses. Basically a lot of accessories! And I've said it before- you can rock the most simple outfit but if you do it up with accessories you will look amazing everytime. Just make sure everything flows. Everyone has been talking about Beyonce, Jay Z, and more so, Blue Ivy! BTW Blue Ivy is so adorable! She's perfect...but we are talking about Beyonce's nails. This past Monday, she attended Jay-Z’s Carnegie Hall concert wearing a Molina Dress ($395.00), which she paired with Christian Louboutins. Beyonce looked absolutely beautiful but what stood out the most was her amazing blue nails. Of course she rocked her blue nails and gews in honor of her bundle of joy. Lisa Logan, Beyonce's manicurist painted her nails with Nails Inc.’s new “Baker Street” polish. And as we all know Beyonce has some major star style power because the product is SOLD OUT since Monday! WTF!

RiRi has caught my attention once again but I swear I won't turn my blog into a Rihanna fan site, lol...she was spotted two nights ago at the Pizzeria Mozza restaurant in Los Angeles rocking another "different look". I can't get past this hair...it actually look better this time since its not all sweaty from dancing all night at a nightclub. Lol. She looks amazing here- she was spotted at the Pre Grammy party in LA rocking a cute sequin skirt, black top, a blazer, and some peep toe platform pumps. Ironically I've worn the same look recently. Myself and my cousin Keena, and friend Yati celebrated Yati's birthday in Washington DC at The Park on 16th Street. BTW the club is amazing! Luvs it. But anyway...this was my look of the night. The skirt is actually from Jennifer Lopez's line at Kohl's! It was a bit pricey so I did find a cheaper one below. I found my tuxedo blazer from my local Goodwill Store...an amazing find! It was only $8! Yaas! Lol.

Color Blocking Is Still In

Jennifer Hudson is still skinny! Yayyyy! Not only is she skinny but she is very fashion forward these days. She was quoted saying she loves clothes now and she is her own life size Barbie doll. She is definitely having fun with her looks- this one in particular is showing us that color blocking is still the thing to do! This look is perfection which she wore while attending the LA premiere of "Think Like A Man". She's rocking a two-toned pleated skirt, a beautiful Isharya necklace which matches her bowed pumps- not sure if they are wedges or not; her accessories are to die for as well. She finished her look with some Norman Silverman earrings and multiple Amrapali bangles. I really love how she paired yellow and blue together. I've seen yellow and turquois paired but this shade of blue is in the same family.

S/N: Notice she is wearing a simple tee with this look which is ok because the bold statement necklace makes up for the simple top. Also the colors make this look pop like crazy. A simple look can always go to new levels when you go BOLD with the accessories.
