We all know fashion repeats itself, but when was the last time you wore a denim jumper? Jumper shorts to be exact! Lol. That's why I love fashion...I like to see things come back around but with a new twist. The only bad thing about seeing these things happen is that its telling my age. Ha!

I recently got a message from one of my facebook girls, Tiffany! Hey Tiffany! She asked me about this new trend and asked for some styling advice. I love when my girls inbox me because it inspires new posts on this blog! So I took her message and styled this look.

I started of course with this dope denim jumper from Zara...OMG, I love that site. Its so fashion forward. Next, I knew I wanted to add some Timberlands...I've been rocking mine a lot lately. They are soooooooooo old too but they still look good. And since this jumper is kinda boyish and loose fitting I decided to add a crop top...its a fun top too. Notice the print- I see some old school graphics such as a cassette tape! Loves it. Then I pulled red from that top and added the red bag, lipstick and nail polish. To finish the look off I had to add some bold gold jewelry- door knockahs! Heyyyyyy! You know my look is not complete without them! If this look is too boyish for you, you can always add some heels to add a flirty detail. These sandals are very in these days! Rihanna stays with a pair of them. I attended my first fashion show in my hometown, Salisbury! And guess who was there! Dwight Eubanks from RHOA (Real Housewives of Atlanta)! It was so ahhh-mazing that he blessed our city with him hosting this fashion show. The fashion show was started by Antoinette Hickman and Waneka Broughton (heeeyyyy girls!)! I was so excited they allowed me to attend this event as a blogger (I had an all access media/press pass). I emailed them so late too! So thanks you girls for this! I got to sit front row of the show, record the event, and I even got to meet Dwight. I won't ramble too much about the event because I am editing footage right now! So that post will be up Monday or Tuesday. Definitely come back to see all the footage- it was very entertaining! Its a must see!

Are my curls ready for a new t-shirt design! Thanks so much for the love and support! The other designs are selling like hotcakes! And boy is this a learning process for me! I'm so glad you are showing support but doing this on my own is bananas. I had no idea this would take off the way it did. That just goes to show how hard #teamnatural goes for each other. I love it!

This design is called CURLFRIENDS. My curlfriend Tasha gave me the idea of creating a tee for curlfriends. Its such a great idea. Immediately I thought of the show MARTIN! They are friends, they are funny and I just love the show's logo. So I recreated that logo for this design. Isn't it cute! The design is printed on a quality American Apparel tee. And speaking of American Apparel. I had a customer inbox me about the quality of the tees. She said it was too thin and she was scared to wear it and wash it. I thought this was interesting. So let me speak on that. I order quality tees from American Apparel and Bella. Both are awesome brands. The tees that are being sold right now are a blend of materials and are very thin. Thin doesn't make it cheap...thin is for the season. It's spring and summer season so the material is thinner for that reason. When the cooler weather approaches I will pick thicker materials. So I hope everyone understands that. I would never sell items that are not quality items. The tees are $20 or more so I want you all to be satisfied with your purchase. This is a small business so the prices are a bit much but once I get it off the ground and sales increase my plan is to lower the prices again like they were in the beginning. Heyyyy dolls! Did you miss me!?! I hope so because I've missed you. And what better way to come back than to give you two of my loves- BIG hair and DOPE fashion. This look is actually my gym wear with a touch of swag. I rocked this yesterday while out with my fam. It was my youngest, Sky's birthday! We all went to this AeroSports Tramboline Park where I live! It was a lot of fun. I got a workout for real...and now I know I'm getting old because I'm super sore today! OMG! Uhhhh! Well that's all I have to report right now. NATURAL HAIR EVENTS | I Attended the Let Your Hair Down Expo (Jenell Stewart x Candace Kelley)

This past weekend I had the awesome honor of attending the LET YOUR HAIR DOWN EXPO in Brooklyn, New York which was brought to us by Jenell Stewart (of www.kinkycurlycoilyme.com) and Candace Kelley!

When I first arrived I was lucky enough to catch the painter painting the event title on the Villain building. That was interesting. He did this free hand and I honestly wanted to see if I could help out! Lol. So as Design Essentials posted on their instagram, "Design Essentials was in the building and in this case they were literally 'on the building'"! Lol.

The event started promptly at 12pm in Brooklyn! Which was held in a warehouse type of building called the Villain. From the outside you may wonder..."What the hell!?! This is not an upscale spot!" But I guess in New York this is the thing to do...have events in bigger spaces that hold large crowds and lots of vendors! The décor is not as important. I arrived in NYC early around 11:30am! There was not a line at that time and the vendors were still setting up their booths. That was interesting to see. But a few moments later I came outside to check out the line and OMG was there a line! The line literally wrapped around the block! I saw a lot of people whom recognized me which was really exciting whether it was from my YouTube channel, social networks, or from attending Jenell's Dinner With CurlFriends events. Everyone was very nice and very excited to get inside!

Woop Woop! Thankfully I ran into my girl Sunshine! We know each other by working on graphics together for her website www.sunshinesnaturalandlovingit.com! I'm her graphic designer as well. She attended to support Jenell as well and also to be a presenter at the Mommy & Me workshop. We ended up hanging out together the entire time! We had lots of laughs, got tons of free products, met a lot of girls who follow us on our blogs and social networks, as well as took A LOT of pictures! Fun times! Check out those photos of myself, Jenell, and Sunshine in the MOJO PHOTO BOOTH! That was a lot of fun as well. This photo booth was right at the front door as you walked in; so kinda taking the place of a red carpet. Guests were able to get in the booth and have a mini photo shoot with backdrops and props and all! We went in there twice, back to back! He he!

As you walked into the building there was a booth where you were politely greeted and handed an event program and full size products! There were Motions, Shea Moisture, Curls, etc products...and ladies, these were full-sized products not sample sizes. A lot of the attendees were really surprised by this gesture! Lol. So that is a great perk to attending these types of events. You get tons of products!

Next up, again was the photo booth! After that you entered the huge building that had two sides as well as a 2nd floor where they held the workshops on a schedule. The schedule was repeatedly announced over a loud speaker so everyone would remember where to go. The ground level is where all the vendors were set up. Such vendors ranged from Curls, Design Essentials, Haus of Swag (love them), and more! There were tons of clothing shops, accessories, hair products, and even beauty product vendors there. And in the middle of all this excitement there were hair demonstrations going on and there was even a fashion show happening right in the aisles of the venue! The energy in this building was ahhhhhhhhhhhhhmazing! And if you were hungry or thirsty Jamal had a cocktail booth and food was served as well.

SunShine and I showing off our wedges! There was a DJ too! Niko! Lol. He was a mess! SunShine and Jenell we won't even go there. But overall the DJ was great and played lots of dope music to keep the energy going throughout the event.

Overall you do a lot of shopping when you attend these events. The seminars were scheduled back to back and as you shopped you were reminded of them by the lovely SunShine on a loud speaker. A few seminars such as, The Jenell Experience, Mommy & Me, DESIGN ESSENTIALS VIP Chic Natural Styling, Kitchen Concoctions with Candace Kelley, The Hairy Truth - Dermatologist Dr. Dina Strachan, Weight Loss & Green Smoothies with Jenell Stewart, and of course the Bloggers Panel which I had the pleasure of being a guest!

I must say the bloggers panel was a lot of laid back fun! The panel held myself, Sunshine (http://www.sunshinesnaturalandlovingit.com), Toia (http://luvtobnatural.com/), Fran (http://youtube.com/chescaleigh), and Carmen (http://lipstickfashionmascara.com/).

The panel was hosted by Sasha (love her) and she asked some awesome questions that allowed us to give the audience some great tips and information about the blogging world! The audience had an opportunity to ask us questions as well. But the questions the hostess asked left barely any room for follow up questions. Lol. Which was pretty awesome. It was a very thorough panel. This part of the event was very important to me as a blogger. I was able to meet so many people to expand my audience. This was also a great opportunity to show who I was, what I was doing and to let people know my upcoming plans! If you ever attend an event like this it is also very important that you have business cards. Networking with other bloggers is a must in the blogging world! I exchanged so many business cards and I can't wait to connect with them! I also met a lot of aspiring bloggers which gave me so much inspiration to keep doing what I'm doing! They explained to us that we helped them so much with their journey. That really touched me. So I do want to say good luck to those women with starting their new blogs and YouTube channels.

Overall, this event was a huge success! I'm telling you Jenell has natural hair powers! There were over 2,000 people at this event! Crazy, right!?! Both Candance and Jenell held a very successful event and handled it with class. Jenell worked the room like we were over to her apartment for drinks! She was so calm and very comfortable. She didn't have a care in the world. I was so surprised she even had time to jump in the photo booth with myself and SunShine. I was so happy to see her have a good time instead of being stressed about what was going on.

So after the event was over. Jenell, myself, SunShine and a few others from the KCCM crew all went out to dinner! We made reservations at Sea (Thai Restaurant) in Brooklyn which was approximately 4 blocks from the venue! This spot was jumping and the food, mmmmmmmmmmm delicious! The décor was amazing and the energy was just like I would imagine in the city! And funny enough...while in line to the ladies' room I met one of my girls who follows my blogs! And she didn't attend the event...so that was wild! She had recently cut her hair and was inspired by my videos! Yayyyy!

Anyway, back on subject. Having dinner with this amazing crowd topped off my night! We had great food, conversation, and fun! Oh and let's not forget the amazing Thai plum wine we had...yummo! Jenell, great choice doll! It was a perfect day in the city with the KCCM crew! I can't wait until the next event. After dinner we all went home to get some rest. No wild parties or anything. He he!

TWA LOVE TEE | How to Style It

This tee right here. SMH! This tee created some crazy drama on my facebook page! Who would have thought!?! My rule of thumb is, when people find the negative in everything they are pessimistic and pretty much can find negative in everything. I designed this tee from a positive but edgy place. When I designed it I was thinking of women like bad ass Rihanna, Cassie, and hmmm, even Solange! She names everything "my damn" something. Anyway...this tee is fun, edgy, and it definitely is making a statement. In the natural hair community there is a lot of "positive hair envy" going. Its definitely a positive thing. If someone says "hair envy" or "hair crush" its such a compliment. But this tee is not for the person you are crushing on...its for you! Its for my girls who are rocking a TWA. In the TWA stage most are not comfortable with their hair. Some are very confident and some want to keep a TWA forever! But most are rocking a TWA for the simple fact they want to be natural and they had to start at that phase. The intention is to grow big beautiful 'fros! And none of us had patience with the growing process. Lol. These are the girls who have hair envy...they see a woman that has passed that phase and can't wait to get there. It can drive a girl crazy too! Lol. But this tee is for that girl...this tee is saying, "I love my TWA...I'm going to rock it proud and forget your 'fro...its cute but I'm good with my teeny weeny afro!" Lol. I wanted this tee to give my TWA sisters out there some confidence to work with what you got! So no offense to you big 'fro dolls out there...this isn't really about you...its not that deep at all. OMG! This is my fav tee! This was the first one I designed. The inspiration behind this one was NIKE AIR! I love the NIKE AIR tees, they are so simple, stylish and just dope. You can dress them up, dress them down...whatever. They are expensive though...uhhhh! So instead of buying one, I used the idea and turned into a tee geared toward the natural hair movement. And although it is geared to #teamnatural, you can have DOPE HAIR no matter how you rock your hair. So this is a perfect tee for any woman who wants to make a statement. At first I had the graphic in all black...because I like simple things but later I added the tribal/African print. The colors in this design are perfect for spring too! This is still operation #TEAMNATURAL graphic tees. I wanted to show you a few options on how I would style my tees. So far I have 5 designs in my boutique. This was one of the instagram favs during the design process but sales haven't been that good. So I wanted to showcase this one. Its so dope...what's wrong with yall. Lol. STYLING | How to Style ETC Au Naturale Tee

Where have yall been!?! OMG! No, I should really say, where have I been!?! I'm so sorry for not posting on my blog lately. I've been so focused on my natural hair and now on my newest venture! A t-shirt line! This line is geared to all my natural hair sisters! I want to show off my beautiful hair by just rocking it in the biggest 'fro, but I also want to be a walking billboard! If you follow me on my social networks you should know that I love graphic design. And what better way to combine everything I love- graphic design, fashion, natural hair, and branding! My own t-shirt line. Its the perfect storm. My first tee was the DOPE HAIR TEE. Now I want to give this AU NATURALE hair pick design some shine. I came up with this one randomly while watching a movie with my boyfriend. It just popped in my head and I immediately pulled out my pencil, sharpie, and sketch book. The concept is a hair pick but instead of having the "black power fist" or afro man I drew this natural hair diva. Au Naturale is the body of the pick, and then I made some stripes to create the combs of the hair pick. I really love this design and I hope you do too! QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

1 What sizes do your tees come in?

Sizes small, medium, large, and extra large.

2 Will the tees be in plus sizes?

I do plan on having plus sizes for the grand opening. But for the pre-sale the largest size is extra large.

3 Will you have other styles?

Right now, this tee is being printed on the Bella flowy/boxy tee. However, after this pre-sale I will be able to figure out how popular my designs will be. I have to order these tees in bulk of 25 or more. So if I only have 5 orders for a particular style that will not work. I have to have 25 tees ordered to be printed on a different style of tee. When different styles are offered they will be Tanks, V-Neck, and Crew Neck.

3 Will you ship to the UK, London?

I need to do some more research to start accepting payment and shipping outside the US. So unfortunately, I will not be shipping outside the US. But I do see this in the near future.

4 Is shipping included?

No. Shipping will be $6 for priority mail.

5 How long will it take for my package to arrive?

I am stating 1-2 weeks for shipping. Don't have a heart attack! Production takes up to 6 days with the company I am working with. I want the inventory sent directly to me first because I want to make sure the quality and design is what you are paying for. I want to make sure all tees are printed properly before sending it to you. I ordered a few tees as samples for myself and I received my package really quickly- like in 3 days! I was impressed. So hopefully shipping will be sooner than later. So you may get it sooner but to be safe I am stating 1-2 weeks! It will be worth the wait, I promise!

6 What are the payment options?

You now need to order directly on www.etceteraboutique.bigcartel.com! I accept PayPal payments. I am no longer accepting pre-order forms. That process became too overwhelming.

Ciara was recently (March 21st) spotted in NYC leaving a building in midtown...I'm sure its business like most celebs are always doing! I can't wait to be like that!?!? Seems like so much hard work but fun! Lol. Anyway...the R&B singer rocked a Givenchy bomber jacket paired with a black sweater, leather leggings, a pair of pointy platform ankle booties, a clutch, and a dope Jesus piece. And let's not forget her hair pulled back and that bold purple lipstick. Who would even think its officially spring!?! This is definitely a fall look! But overall, its very cute! Kim Kardashian's stylist is wrong for this one. I posted another look a couple weeks ago and some of my girls on my facebook page said they didn't like her look. It was the one with the hi-lo dress and white blazer. I personally liked that one but this...smh! I just want to know why her shirt is soooo tight and her skirt is soooooooooo high!?! It makes her look shorter and her boobs look HUGE! I don't even think its flattering for her legs. The concept is cute but it just didn't work out. She looks so uncomfortable to me. I'm not really feeling her hair either. The bangs are weird with the thin longer pieces on each side; and the bun just looks limp and sad. Y'all know I usually love all the looks I post on here and I really tell the truth about my thoughts on it...not to be negative but to just give my opinion. We can learn from celebrity style do's and don'ts! Lol. This look would probably look great on a very thin tall person...and more importantly a person who is NOT pregnant. This is definitely not a preggers look! So for those who aren't pregnant and love this look, I've created a look for less. And please let me repeat...this is a dope overall outfit but not so much on a pregnant Kim K. Yep, I said it!

Kelly Rowland was seen the other night just coolin' it in LA! I'm telling you...when you see celebs in LA that usually means they are working on something...what could it be for Kelly!?! She looked really laid back rocking a blazer with leather sleeves, boyfriend jeans, and some edgy combat boots! I think its time for me to pull my boyfriend jeans back out too! Yayyyy! Cassie's back! I love her style soooooo much but she is rarely spotted out. Every once in awhile when she has a project out she shows her face. I'm not sure what she has going on right now but she was spotted out for lunch at Hugo's in West Hollywood. She is a New York chick so she must be working on something being in LA. Cassie rocked a very popular Homies sweatshirt which is by Brian Lichtenberg. It's inspired by Hermes of course. Celebrities have been showing off the new design and I love it. We can now add Cassie to the list. With her top she added some leather pants, dark sunglasses, bamboo earrings (totally obsessed with those btw), some other gold jewelry, white sneakers, and an over sized bag. I love this entire look.
