The falls are 17 miles (27 km) north-northwest of Buffalo, New York and 75 miles (120 km) south-southeast of Toronto, Ontario, between the twin cities of Niagara Falls, Ontario, and Niagara Falls, New York.

Niagara Falls is composed of two major sections separated by Goat Island: Horseshoe Falls, the majority of which lies on the Canadian side of the border, and American Falls on the American side. The smaller Bridal Veil Falls are also located on the American side, separated from the main falls by Luna Island.

Niagara Falls were formed when glaciers receded at the end of the Wisconsin glaciation (the last ice age), and water from the newly-formed Great Lakes carved a path through the Niagara Escarpment en route to the Atlantic Ocean. While not exceptionally high, the Niagara Falls are very wide. More than six million cubic feet (168,000 m³) of water falls over the crest line every minute in high flow and almost 4 million cubic feet (110,000 m³) on average. It is the most powerful waterfall in North America.

The Niagara Falls are renowned both for their beauty and as a valuable source of hydroelectric power. And this is the decision if a strategy that involves multiple stops will be more efficient or not.

To start with, I would like to mention the two differences that we can encounter, and to make you understand it properly I will place two examples. Let's imagine we are planning to fly to Singapore from Paris, Europe, and we take a look at the flights market trying to discover what can be best.

The idea is to find an airline or combination of airlines that can bring us there for the less price possible. If we find a flight operated by one single airline, we receive one price A. We then look for combinations with different airlines and we have another price B. Which of them will be higher?

If the stop that we make in the route to change to a different airline operator is placed pretty near to our place of departure or arrival, the option will have chances to be cheaper. An example could be flying from our supposed home town Paris to London, and then from London take a flight to Singapore.

Instead, if we plan to fly from Paris to any destination in the middle East, and from there a flight to Singapore, unless it exist a very special offer in place, this will be always a problem, and the total fare will increase.

Nowadays, with the option to fly to East Asia with Oasis Hong Kong will even more kill the possibility to travel to Middle East, as flying to London will allow you to use this airline to travel there.

Another example will happen if we plan to go to Barcelona, Spain, from the US, from Miami for example. Of course we can find direct flights that will have a good price. But did you know that if you fly first to Italy with Alitalia and then you take Ryanair to Barcelona the fares are a lot cheaper? Did you also know that with Zoom Airlines you could fly with a low cost carrier to New York from Miami, fly from NY to London for 343 euros, and then take Ryanair to Rome in Italy for 20 euros?

In the end, what I mean with this article is: normally a direct flight will be cheaper, but if the stop you are planning to make is relatively near to your airport of departure or to the airport of arrival, the possibility of making a 1 stop or even 2 stops flight should be considered as you can be happily surprised. source: buzzle.com

You can even look for Cheap Airline Tickets by searching us above.

Rarotonga is the main island which makes up the 15 beautiful islands of the Cook Islands. An idyllic tropical island surrounded by reef that shelters the lagoon, with many varieties of tropical fish and turquoise water that laps against the white sandy beaches - this is paradise!

Cook Islands' Parliament buildings, as well as the international airport, are located on Rarotonga. Because it is the most populous island, Cook Islanders may be referred to as Rarotongan, but they may in fact come from one of the other 15 islands in the group, such as Aitutaki or Mangaia. Rarotonga is also a very popular tourist destination with many resorts, hotels and motels. The chief town, Avarua, on the north coast, is also the capital of the Cook Islands.

It was established in 1961 to protect wildlife from hunters. The Masai Mara is the reason many visitors come to Kenya and its beauty and abundant wildlife won't disappoint. This guide to the Masai Mara will tell you what animals you can expect to see, the topography of the area, where to stay, how to get there, and what there is to do beyond the game drives.

But within its 1170 square miles, deep valleys, grand meadows, ancient giant sequoias, vast wilderness and captivating wildlife also exist. Yosemite is one of the largest and least fragmented habitat blocks in the Sierra Nevada, and the park supports a diversity of plants and animals. Situated in California's Sierra Nevada mountain range, Yosemite's peaks soar to above 13,000 feet above sea level. Visitors flock to Yosemite Falls and Hetch Hetchy Reservoir. Climbers and hikers tackle Yosemite Valley. Yosemite is famous for its high concentration of waterfalls in a small area. Numerous sheer drops, glacial steps and hanging valleys in the park provide many places for waterfalls to exist, especially during April, May, and June (the snowmelt season). Located in Yosemite Valley, the 2,425-foot-high (739 m) Yosemite Falls is the highest in North America.

Checkout some beautiful photographs around Yosemite National Park

In the north, mountains and rain forest backdrop exhilarating outdoor adventures. The main attraction, Grand Canyon, is a mammoth gorge stretching 277 miles showcasing amazing depths of colorful geology. The majestic canyon, an ever-changing display of colors, stretches nearly 280 miles from end to end, is ten miles wide on the average and descends 6,000 feet at its deepest point. Take the scenic East or West Rim drive or descend into the "Inner Canyon" by foot, mule or a raft down the Colorado River, where thrilling rapids are interspersed with calmer waters. Hike down to the Havasupai Falls, where shimmering turquoise water cascades into a crystal pool below. Hiking trails abound and, for the fittest of hikers, the 21-mile rim to rim hike, while grueling in parts, is a rewarding journey. It boasts some of the nation’s cleanest air and a great deal of the park’s 1,904 square miles are maintained as wilderness. Visitors cannot help but be blown away by stunning views from almost any vantage point.

Checkout some beautiful photos around Grand Canyon Area

It is also known as the Monkey Temple as there are holy monkeys living in parts of the temple in the north-west. The Tibetan name for the site means 'Sublime Trees' , for the many varieties of trees found on the hill. However, Shing.kun may be a corruption of the local Newari name for the complex, Singgu, meaning 'self-sprung'. Swayambhunath is one of the most sacred sites of Buddhist pilgrimage in Nepal, second only to Boudhanath.

The Swayambhunath complex consists of a stupa, a variety of shrines and temples, including a Tibetan monastery, a museum and a library. The stupa has Buddha's eyes and eyebrows painted on. Between them, there is something painted which looks like the nose - but is the Nepali symbol of 'unity', in the main Nepali language dialect. There are also shops, restaurants and hostels. The site has two access points: a long stairway, claimed to have 365 steps, leading directly to the main platform of the temple, which is from the top of the hill to the east; and a car road around the hill from the south leading to the southwest entrance. The first sight on reaching the top of the stairway is the Vajra.Much of Swayambhunath's iconography comes from the Vajrayana tradition of Tibetan Buddhism. However, the complex is also an important site for Buddhists of many schools, and is also revered by Hindus.

Baudanath Stupa:

Boudanath temple like Swayambhunath, is listed in the World Heritage Site by UNESCO. It is biggest stupa in Nepal, which is built around 5th century. It is a hemispherical dome, like other Buddhist stupas and has a harmika with Buddha eyes and the 13 steps of the spire. It is believed that the relics of the great Buddha Kasyapa is being buried inside the stupa: due to which it is greatly worshipped by the Buddhists. There are numerous monasteries within the perimeter of the stupa, where Buddhists within the country, Tibetans or foreign students house, to live close to their symbol of the spiritual master. Due to noticeable amount of Tibetans and Buddhists living there, the area is also called mini Tibet.

Buddhanilkantha:

Buddhanilkantha is situated in the northern suburbs of the Valley just at the foot of Mt. Shibapuri, this is an enchanting Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Bishnu Narayan. So the locality is also known as Narayanthan. He lies in a bed of serpents amidst the pious pool and seems to float on water. The surrounding pond actually represents the sea. The reclining statue was built in the 5th century A.D. The season of religious celebration here takes place right after the festival of Tihar. Although it is a renowned spot of worship, the reigning king of Nepal (may it be contemporary or any Hindu monarch) may not visit this place for reasons particularly unknown. Thus to please the king a replica of it has been built elsewhere if he wishes to visit it much.
previous page...

Relatively a new adventure sport in Nepal, it is highly liked among the lovers of adventure. Soaring high in the air above the snow-carpeted mountains is an exhilirating experience. You view some of the best scenes on the earth, from the sky. You share space with the creatures of the air, soaking in the wonderful view of the marvellous Himalayan ranges. We are sure, the feeling you would experience, would be incomparable.

Nepal forms a rectangle on the southern slopes of the Himalaya and is without exception, the most stunning country imaginable. Before its construction, locals walked five hours to cross this river gorge

Adventures On The Last Resorts

Kayaking, Canyoning, Hiking, Bunjee, Swing, Rock Climbing, Rafting and Mountain Biking

The city is situated in Kathmandu Valley that also contains two other cities - Patan and Bhaktapur. Nepali is the lingua franca of the valley and is the most widely spoken language. Nepal Bhasa/Newari is the language spoken by native people, the Newars.Kathmandu is situated in a bowl shaped valley in central Nepal. The Kingdom extends about 885 km. east to west and 193 km. in width north to south. The entire terrain is like a steep incline, descending from the icy Himalayan heights to the hot Terai flatland within a short distance.
English is understood by most of the educated population of the city. The city stands at an elevation of approximately 1400 m and is inhabited by about 700,000 people. Kathmandu is the most developed city in Nepal.
There are major beautiful places in Kathmandu, which you should not miss during the visit of Nepal.

PashupatiNathTemple:

Pashupatinath temple is a Hindu temple located on the shores of the Bagmati river in the eastern part of Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal. The temple served as the seat of national deity, Lord Pashupatinath, till Nepal was secularized. The temple is listed in UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Site list. Believers in Pashupatinath (mainly Hindus) are allowed to enter the temple premises. Non-Hindu visitors are allowed to have a look at the temple from the other bank of Bagmati river. It is regarded as the most sacred temple of Shiva (Pashupati) in Nepal.Shivaratri or the night of Lord Shiva is the most important festival celebrated in this temple. Along the shores of the Bagmati river near the temple lies "Arya Ghat", the most widely used place of cremation in Nepal, especially in and around Kathmandu Valley.

Krishna Mandir:

Six and a half years in building, the Krishna Mandir was completed under Siddhi Narasimha Malla in 1637. The elegant shikhara-style temple ranks as one of the gems of Durbar Square. Encircled at ground floor level by an arcade, tier upon tier of small shrine-like pavilions culminate in a slender central tower. An inscription likens the temple with its 21 pinnacles to the sacred Mount Meru, abode of the god Shiva.
The temple is noteworthy not only for the excellence of its architecture but also for its detail, the reliefs being executed with a precision rarely found in wood let alone stone. This is especially true of the scenes from the Mahabharata and Ramayana epics which, complete with Newari commentary, embellish the ledges of the first and second floors. The unusual floral decoration of the arcade echoes the Islamic architecture of northern India, as indeed does the temple as a whole. It was probably modeled on the Krishna Temple at Mathura.

Changu Narayan:

Narayan, or Vishnu, is the preserver of creation to Hindus. His temple near Changu village is often described as the most ancient temple in the Kathmandu Valley. A fifth century stone inscription, the oldest to be discovered in Nepal, is located in the temple compound and it tells of the victorious King Mandev. The temple now covers sixteen hundred years of Nepalese art history. The temple, built around the third century, is decorated by some of the best samples of stone, wood, and metal craft in the Valley. In the words of one tourist guide, "When you look upon Changu Narayan, you observe the complete cultural development of the Valley."On the struts of the two-tiered Changu Narayan Temple, are the ten incarnations in which Narayan destroyed evil-doers. A sixth-century stone statue shows the cosmic form of Vishnu, while another statue recalls his dwarf incarnation when he crushed the evil king Bali. Vishnu as Narsingha disemboweling a demon is particularly stunning. The western bronze doors sparkle in the evening sunlight, dragons decorate the bells, and handsome devas stare from the walls. Garuda, half man and half bird, is the steed of Vishnu, and his life-sized statue kneels before the temple. The favourite of many tourists is the statue of Vishnu sitting astride his steed.

next page...

Established in 1986, the conservation area is surrounded by high mountains and deep valleys. A mosaic of ethnic groups has carved lifestyle out of its steep terraces and barren plateaus. The conservation area is also home to 1,226 species of plants, 38 species of orchids, 9 species of Rhododendrons, 101 species of mammals, 478 species of birds, 39 species reptiles and 22 species of amphibians.

Annapurna Conservation Area is a major trekking destination in Nepal. More than 40,000 tourists annually visit the conservation area. Ghandruk and Lwang are typical Gurung villages with scenic splendours. The King Mahendra Trust for Nature Conservation (KMTNC), a leading non-profit and non-governmental environmental organization in Nepal, launched the Annapurna Conservation Area Project (ACAP) in 1986. ACAP’s grassroots philosophy involves local people in all aspects on conservation and development. The project aims to improve the socio-economic condition of the local people by integrating conservation and development. It encourages local people’s participatory involvement in the management of natural resources and community development activities.
Some Beautiful Sceneries Of Annapurna Areas & It has some of the richest and most unique pockets of plants and animals in Nepal, elsewhere lost to spreading human habitation. Stepping up the slopes are a series of vegetation zones starting with tropical sal forest below 1,000 m. elevation subtropical schima-castanopsis forest at 1,000-2000 m. fir, birch, rhododendron forests in the sub-alpine(3,000-4,000 m); and herbs, grasses and rhododendron/juniper shrubs in the alpine pas trues (4,000-5,000 m). There are 47 varieties of orchids, 67 species of bamboos, 15 oaks including Arkhoulo, 86 species of fodder trees and 48 species of primrose. Over 400 species of birds have been sighted in the Makalu-Barun area, including two species never before seen in Nepal the spotted wrenbabbler and the olive ground warbler. Wildlife includes the endangered red panda, musk deer, Himalayan black bear, clouded leopard and possibly snow leopard, in addition to more substantial populations of ghoral, thar, wild boar, barking deer, Himalayan marmot and weasel, common langur monkey and the serow. The Arun river system contains 84 varieties of fish.
Due to its unique altitudinal gradient, the skyline is panorama of rugged Himalayan peaks, including Mt. Makalu(8463m) the fifth highest mountain in the world and the fourth highest, Mt. Chamlang(7319m), Mt. Baruntse(7129m) and Mera Peak(6654m).

Makalu-Barun area falls in the eastern Himalayan climatic regime where monsoon starts early (June) and stays longer than in west Nepal (until late September). The climate is generally described as monsoon type, where more than 70% of the precipitation occurs between June and September. Pre- monsoon rain is common during the month of April and May, an important factor in biomes production. No reliable records of climatic data represent the entire area. Great variations in temperature and precipitation can be expected due to extreme difference in altitude, slope and aspect within the area.

FLORA AND FAUNA
Recognized for its tremendous diversity of plants, animals and people, the area contains 25 species of rhododendron, 47 types of orchids, and 56 rare or endangered plants. Snow leopards, red panda, musk deer, wild boar, are among the wildlife found here.

TRAIL SAFETY
Most trails are quite rocky, and become slippery after rain or overnight freezes. Until April or May, winter snows generally stay on the passes and on high altitude trails approaching shershong. One particular hazardous area is the trail between Mumbuk and Yangle Kharka, an area of unstable and dangerous Rock fall. Trekkers in this area should move quickly and watch for falling rocks. Mountain sickness can also be a serious risk if elevation gains are rapid without proper acclimatisation.

HOW TO GET THERE
There are daily flights to Tumlingtar from Kathmandu and Biratnagar to Tumlingtar could also be reached from Biratnagar/Dharan.
