Also at Moseley Folk Festival was Janice Long, who has a daily night time show on BBC Radio 2. She interviewed the band for her show. The interview aired last night, alongside a live performance of Underdog (Save Me) from the festival. The first night (Friday 3rd) will be headlined by Turin Brakes and The Divine Comedy. Saturday sees Donovan and The Low Anthem headlining, while The High Llamas, featuring Turin Brakes drummer Rob Allum, will also be playing. Sunday sees a probably extraordinary performance by The Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain.

The best up-and-coming local acts will also be showcasing their talent as the festival celebrates its fifth birthday. Around 2,500 fans attended the event in 2009 and similar numbers are again expected at the 11-acre site in the heart of Moseley Village in Birmingham. Some of the region’s best local unsigned acts will get the chance to perform too. All-round entertainment will also be on hand for visitors with fairground rides and a variety of music and dance workshops. Tickets for adults vary in prices from £28 – £77 while children (12-16) pay from £12 – £35. A family ticket (2 adults & 2 children) costs £160.

Turin Brakes are NOT heading to the mOARE festival in Oare to perform at the festival on 11 and 12 September 2010. mOARE Music returns on Saturday 11th and Sunday 12th of September, at The Three Mariners at Oare just outside of Faversham, Kent for hopefully another succesful festival. It is the first time Turin Brakes will make an appearance. EXCEPT THAT THEY WON’T!

This festival offers two days of music, local ales, food and a cracking ambience. There is no official word on line-up yet, but the festival organisers have been announcing acts via their Twitter-account. Ticket prices to be confirmed, but except about GBP 25 for the full thing and a about 15 GBP for a day ticket.

The main bar will be open in the pub with an additional beer tent in the garden, food will be provided. The big stage constructed in garden of The Three Mariners will be back, and even bigger and better, and the garden is a natural amphitheatre. The Three Mariners is easy to get to by any means of transport. There is free parking and a regular bus service running between Oare and Faversham.

The East Wintergarden in the heart of London’s Canary Wharf opened in October 2003 and is proving to be a favourite for corporate, private and charity events. Ceremonies can be hosted in either the main hall for up to 600 guests seated, the Gallery, suspended above the main floor, for up to 120, or the Promenade Room for up to 40 guests seated. The ceremony can then be followed by a reception, wedding breakfast and party. All within the contemporary surroundings of Canary Wharf.

I’m not sure what part of the Garden TB are playing but it starts at 7.45 pm (doors at 7 pm). Tickets can be obtained via Ticketweb.co.uk (or call 0844 847 2268) and cost 18 GBP (exclusive things that will probably make it cost more). It’s been a while since TB last played a proper London gig so this should be nice. Let’s all go! Also, there will be a support act and the whole night will probably be acoustic (since the event is called Acoustic After Hours with… Turin Brakes).

In Feeling Oblivion there’s a lot more variety in instruments with a more violin heavy intro and it feels a lot more uplifting.

Olly and Gale feature on Kate’s last studio album, Light and Dark, and Kate has done support for Turin Brakes on several occasions, including last April on the Europe tour.
