</div><div style="text-align: center;">So many resolutions are flying around blog world.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">My resolution for this year...maybe a little cliche...</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">This year I want to be more</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-6mK_D_2iknw/TwNVudwsULI/AAAAAAAABH4/yXkJJxJ_03Q/s1600/organized.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="65" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-6mK_D_2iknw/TwNVudwsULI/AAAAAAAABH4/yXkJJxJ_03Q/s320/organized.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">Recently, I've been slacking in this department. </div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">Luckily I have my <a href="http://www.evelynkatedesigns.com/2011/05/weekly-cleaning-calendar-printable.html">weekly cleaning calendar</a> to keep the house chores efficient so I can focus on the clutter in every other room. </div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">I created another weekly cleaning calendar. This time in pink chevron. Don't get me wrong, I love the blue polka dot <a href="http://www.evelynkatedesigns.com/2011/05/weekly-cleaning-calendar-printable.html">weekly cleaning calendar</a> but I wanted to change it up a bit for the new year. </div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-GO2E95YcQlo/TwNX7KXTcZI/AAAAAAAABIE/IN9e52kpHN0/s1600/weeklycleaningpinkchevron.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-GO2E95YcQlo/TwNX7KXTcZI/AAAAAAAABIE/IN9e52kpHN0/s640/weeklycleaningpinkchevron.jpg" width="494" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://www.4shared.com/office/q-9eQ__Q/weeklycleaningchevronpink.html">D O W N L O A D</a></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">Hopefully this will make my house chores a little more fun. </div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">Who am I kidding!?</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">Maybe it will encourage me to stick to the calendar!</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"> </div><div style="text-align: center;">I am sharing this new weekly cleaning calendar as my free printable to you for the New Year.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">I hope you reach your goals and hopefully this will help you clean the house quickly so you can focus on YOU! </div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"></div><div style="text-align: center;">Many readers suggested laminating this calendar so you can use it over and over again. Such a great - thrifty idea.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">As the year unfolds I will have additional free printables to keep the house organized. </div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">I recently had a career change - I am now a stay at home mom. I want to balance time with Evelyn [2] and Harrison [5 months] as well as make time for myself. The faster I can finish my "job" on the home front, the more time I can spend on my children as well as myself.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">I'm in the process of creating organizational lists/charts etc. to keep myself on track at home. </div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">I don't mind sharing these items because 1) I create them for myself to use 2) why not share to help someone else keep organized?</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">I struggle with organization every day so if I can help one other person, great!</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">Happy New Year!</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"> </div><div style="text-align: center;"> </div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />

</div><div style="text-align: center;"> <a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-W16mrsdbES4/TtvJjgUGdaI/AAAAAAAABG8/7KdWzK7zQ7E/s1600/vintage3.jpg"><img alt="" border="0" height="640" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-W16mrsdbES4/TtvJjgUGdaI/AAAAAAAABG8/7KdWzK7zQ7E/s640/vintage3.jpg" width="427" /></a><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-W16mrsdbES4/TtvJjgUGdaI/AAAAAAAABG8/7KdWzK7zQ7E/s1600/vintage3.jpg"></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">About a year ago my mom found all these amazing ornaments in storage. These ornaments sat there for almost 20 years. </div><div style="text-align: center;"> </div><div style="text-align: center;">She asked me if I wanted them. Of course being the hoarder I am I jumped on the idea. </div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">I remember her putting up these ornaments when I was a little girl. When we moved to a more modern house she decided to retire these vintage pieces.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">Lucky me...I have "new" great vintage ornaments to decorate the tree in our loft.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">I decided to make a little tutorial. I have no idea if this is the correct or right way to decorate a tree but this is how I decorated this tree. </div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">[S T E P 1] Make sure your lights work on the tree if you have a pre-lit tree. I know this step is pretty simple but trust me it is SO frustrating finishing a tree to find it does not light. It has happened to me!!</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">[S T E P 2] Add coordinating ribbon, lace, and even beads to add accent to your tree.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"></div><div style="text-align: center;">[S T E P 3] Add bulb type ornaments. I like to call these type of ornaments fillers. They add tons of color to the tree. </div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-uQihSOUt4IA/TtvJRgdOLJI/AAAAAAAABGk/o8mbNzjVRDI/s1600/vintage1.jpg"><img alt="" border="0" height="640" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-uQihSOUt4IA/TtvJRgdOLJI/AAAAAAAABGk/o8mbNzjVRDI/s640/vintage1.jpg" width="427" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">[S T E P 4] Add your fun fancy ornaments</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-UEPyBImGCk4/TtvOHKUpVNI/AAAAAAAABHQ/8-Vc9Jr4Bp8/s1600/vintage4.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="426" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-UEPyBImGCk4/TtvOHKUpVNI/AAAAAAAABHQ/8-Vc9Jr4Bp8/s640/vintage4.jpg" width="640" /></a> </div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">[S T E P 5] Spice up the tree with a couple flowers and twigs in coordinating colors. </div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-kmkTHJ9tfyc/TtvKqvGQONI/AAAAAAAABHI/_eLTZZ6r2Qo/s1600/vintage2.jpg"><img alt="" border="0" height="640" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-kmkTHJ9tfyc/TtvKqvGQONI/AAAAAAAABHI/_eLTZZ6r2Qo/s640/vintage2.jpg" width="427" /> </a></div><div style="text-align: center;"> </div><div style="text-align: center;">Yeah, I got a little happy rushing trying to get my tree decorated while baby #2 slept. He gives me one good hour nap so this 7 foot tree was completed in under an hour!</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">Finally, let there be light...</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-a75nPoZRmy0/TtvP6fGXrgI/AAAAAAAABHo/pdA41D2dc48/s1600/vintage6.jpg"><img alt="" border="0" height="640" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-a75nPoZRmy0/TtvP6fGXrgI/AAAAAAAABHo/pdA41D2dc48/s640/vintage6.jpg" width="358" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"> </div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">This isn't perfect - the Angel on the top is a little tilted. I will need to work on that...or better yet have the husband who is taller (only by a few inches) take care of that. </div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"> <a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-ci0j_icwpys/TtvPKiITTZI/AAAAAAAABHc/MZO3S5_nLHs/s1600/vintage5.jpg"><img alt="" border="0" height="640" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-ci0j_icwpys/TtvPKiITTZI/AAAAAAAABHc/MZO3S5_nLHs/s640/vintage5.jpg" width="427" /> </a></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"></div><div style="text-align: center;"> I probably over decorated the tree but I wanted to showcase all of the pretty ornaments. </div><div style="text-align: center;"> </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-UEPyBImGCk4/TtvOHKUpVNI/AAAAAAAABHQ/8-Vc9Jr4Bp8/s1600/vintage4.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"></div><div style="text-align: center;">Please share all of your beautiful Christmas trees! </div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />

I think it is so much fun and perfect for a gender neutral playroom.</div><div align="center"><br />
Of course Daniel opposed the color because in another 3-4 years we will paint it again for Evelyn's big girl room. I'll let her choose her color at that time. <br />
<br />
</div><div align="center">Daniel started painting the walls two weekends ago... while I enjoyed sitting downstairs. </div><div align="center"> </div><div align="center"> </div><div align="center">I have an excuse! Normally, I would help with these tasks - although he thinks I'm a terrible painter. Is it because I'm left handed?!?</div><div align="center"><br />
<br />
He finished all the painting and then unloaded the closet. Yes, another huge mess to clean up.</div><div align="center"> </div><div align="center"> </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-QvC8wJRjD20/ThszP3-k99I/AAAAAAAABBc/78MUA7O4VGI/s1600/1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="426" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-QvC8wJRjD20/ThszP3-k99I/AAAAAAAABBc/78MUA7O4VGI/s640/1.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-r3K31oWO6lA/Ths0NL9Z5DI/AAAAAAAABBk/ibB81D8s6OI/s1600/2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="426" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-r3K31oWO6lA/Ths0NL9Z5DI/AAAAAAAABBk/ibB81D8s6OI/s640/2.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><div align="center"> </div><div align="center">See what I mean about the mess??<br />
<br />
Finally this last weekend we got everything organized and the playroom is clean!<br />
<br />
My parents bought this play table for Evelyn's 2nd birthday and it looks so cute in the room above the striped rug.<br />
<br />
</div><div align="center"><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-huhLDcNpoXE/Ths0PS1ii3I/AAAAAAAABBo/3Cpk51OGRkM/s1600/3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="426" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-huhLDcNpoXE/Ths0PS1ii3I/AAAAAAAABBo/3Cpk51OGRkM/s640/3.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><br />

<br />
Yes...toys are out of the family room downstairs! Daniel moved her toy chest upstairs and her book shelf back in the play room. (I will have pictures later this week of the kids-free family room!)</div><div align="center"><br />
I'm not going to decorate the playroom until we have all the furniture situated. <br />
<br />
We are turning our old foot board from our king size bed into a daybed. That should be an interesting project down the road.<br />
<br />
Also, we plan to install a TV up high so this can be the kiddos little comfy retreat. </div><div align="center"><br />
There are still several toys hiding away in the entertainment center in the family room.</div><div align="center"> </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-TN-cbQoyBkQ/Ths0UOwK17I/AAAAAAAABBw/-QtRNBI9lLc/s1600/6.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="462" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-TN-cbQoyBkQ/Ths0UOwK17I/AAAAAAAABBw/-QtRNBI9lLc/s640/6.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><div align="center"> </div><div align="center">Don't you love doors on things? I love getting the toys out of sight. </div><div align="center"><br />
Now, our family room is adult-ish again and that makes me happy.<br />
<br />
Ok, I'm posting another photo of the new playroom...<br />

</div><div align="center">I finally get to start those craft projects I've been dying to do. In order to get to those I need to make every day tasks at home as simple as possible.</div><div align="center"><br />
</div><div align="center">Since I'm home for a long time (end of November) I am doing all of the household chores, grocery runs, making meals, taking care of the little ones etc...you know what SAHM's do each and every day.</div><div align="center"><br />
</div><div align="center">I've been brainstorming on what additional lists will help me during these weeks.</div><div align="center"><br />
</div><div align="center">While planning my grocery shopping for this week something clicked. How about a cute grocery list? I do coupon so I wanted to incorporate coupons in that list as well...</div><div align="center"><br />
</div><div align="center">I decided to put together a grocery shopping list to keep that portion of time to a minimum.</div><div align="center"><br />
</div><div align="center">I created a generic list as a free printable!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-zotowVTN78E/Tg4Pqn8RupI/AAAAAAAABBE/NxgBxo3s7to/s1600/grocerylistfree.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" i$="true" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-zotowVTN78E/Tg4Pqn8RupI/AAAAAAAABBE/NxgBxo3s7to/s640/grocerylistfree.jpg" width="491" /></a></div><br />

</div><div align="center">If you want a copy of the list I use, it is available in my <a href="http://www.etsy.com/listing/77016011/grocery-list-pdf-in-pink-chevron">Etsy shop</a> for $2.</div><div align="center"><br />
<br />

</div><div align="center">Take a look at our closet.</div><div align="center"><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-J6H-iJZAD6I/TgjAJUjWsqI/AAAAAAAABAc/OUFvfe_-9pc/s1600/IMG_0566.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" i$="true" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-J6H-iJZAD6I/TgjAJUjWsqI/AAAAAAAABAc/OUFvfe_-9pc/s400/IMG_0566.JPG" width="400" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Mv7-tQKBPWs/TgjAK3PyIrI/AAAAAAAABAg/TvPIDKSilsM/s1600/IMG_0571.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" i$="true" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Mv7-tQKBPWs/TgjAK3PyIrI/AAAAAAAABAg/TvPIDKSilsM/s400/IMG_0571.JPG" width="400" /></a></div><br />
I promised my significant other that I would keep this area clean if he installed a custom closet system (he did this 2 years ago.)</div><div align="center"><br />
</div><div align="center">I didn't mean to lie, but seriously, I am going through the closet every morning as fast as possible in order to get to work by 8.</div><div align="center"><br />
</div><div align="center">I think if I had more time in the morning the closet would be nowhere near the disaster it is today.</div><div align="center"><br />
</div><div align="center">Yeah, getting myself ready plus a 2 year old sleeping beauty is not an easy task. Add daycare drop off to that mix ohh the morning gets so much better! Can you tell my sarcasm? </div><div align="center"><br />
</div><div align="center">Yesterday I worked on organizing the space.<br />
<br />
<img border="0" height="400" i$="true" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-gVTecwNY76s/Tgin_g0tj4I/AAAAAAAABAU/cuatphXLCOM/s400/IMG_0573.JPG" width="265" /><br />

I want to put small baskets at the top to hold some of the items we don't use very often...or even store out of season items. </div></div><div align="center"><br />

<br />
Today I am featuring a blog that I am growing to love, <a href="http://www.thecraftyscientist.com/">The Crafty Scientist</a>. I might be a little bias (being a scientist and all…) but trust me her stuff is amazing. Mel is so creative and thrifty with her designs. I especially love her website. For all of you science buffs out there her tab titles are absolutely hilarious and fitting! Ok, my inner nerd might be coming out a little. </div><div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt; text-align: center;">I am sharing {3} of her tutorials today. </div><div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt; text-align: center;"><br />

</div><div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt; text-align: center;">Are you in need of a summer wreath? Oh, I know my front door needs something...Another craft project to add to the list for my pre-maternity leave from work! Her watermelon wreath is absolutely darling and such the perfect touch for a summer door. </div><div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt; text-align: center;">You can find Mel’s tutorial for the watermelon wreath {<a href="http://www.thecraftyscientist.com/2011/06/watermelon-wreath.html">here</a>.}</div><div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt; text-align: center;"><br />

</div><div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt; text-align: center;">This is by far my favorite tutorial on Mel’s site. It is a popular one! I love everything about this project. The fact that you can get paint chips for free (awesome!) and create beautiful art is amazing. Her color combinations are so pretty and I really want to tackle this project in the future. I especially love her idea of using round paint chips – so smart and unique from the other paint chip artwork I’ve seen. </div><div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt; text-align: center;"><a href="http://i1120.photobucket.com/albums/l487/CraftingScientist/Tutorials/Paint%20Chip%20Art/paintchipartmosaic.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="361" src="http://i1120.photobucket.com/albums/l487/CraftingScientist/Tutorials/Paint%20Chip%20Art/paintchipartmosaic.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt; text-align: center;"> { look at those color combinations - I'm in love! } </div><div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt; text-align: center;">This is another project to add to the list!</div><div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt; text-align: center;"><br />

I want to thank Emily at <a href="http://jonesdesigncompany.com/">Jones Design Company</a> for the wonderful idea of making your own goodie bags using a sheet of text weight paper. How smart and thrifty is that!?</div><div align="center"><br />
I loved her idea of using a striped bag so I created my own striped bag that matched the party theme and added a Sweet Shoppe label on the front. </div><div align="center"><br />
<em>Materials</em><br />
<br />
:: Bag Template (found at the bottom of post) ::<br />
:: Scissors ::<br />
:: Hot Glue (or regular glue) ::<br />
<br />
{STEP ONE} Fold the bag template using the guide lines at the top of the sheet.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-tM6hMpJPWzY/TfzwHZcW7qI/AAAAAAAAA-8/Ytcx_cE6Skc/s1600/goodie1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="425" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-tM6hMpJPWzY/TfzwHZcW7qI/AAAAAAAAA-8/Ytcx_cE6Skc/s640/goodie1.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-xf1aeLHSxSY/TfzwILEVdCI/AAAAAAAAA_A/y6pSssJzJ3w/s1600/goodie2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="425" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-xf1aeLHSxSY/TfzwILEVdCI/AAAAAAAAA_A/y6pSssJzJ3w/s640/goodie2.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-9_FvdLej97o/TfzwJB-l0yI/AAAAAAAAA_E/6qDw1HZBUzk/s1600/goodie3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="425" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-9_FvdLej97o/TfzwJB-l0yI/AAAAAAAAA_E/6qDw1HZBUzk/s640/goodie3.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><br />
<br />
{STEP TWO} Using glue (I used hot glue) glue the overlapped piece of paper on the back of the bag.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-H3HoBQ1PbM8/TfzwKnxRcGI/AAAAAAAAA_I/iuMZSszwkwY/s1600/goodie4.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="425" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-H3HoBQ1PbM8/TfzwKnxRcGI/AAAAAAAAA_I/iuMZSszwkwY/s640/goodie4.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-j3cvdY3816c/TfzwLX0FWRI/AAAAAAAAA_M/Rp-hyv-qBnk/s1600/goodie5.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="425" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-j3cvdY3816c/TfzwLX0FWRI/AAAAAAAAA_M/Rp-hyv-qBnk/s640/goodie5.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">{STEP THREE} Fold up the bottom (roughly 1in) and hot glue the bottom and ensure that it is sealed.</div><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-L7dLSWWukrU/TfzwMQy3C_I/AAAAAAAAA_Q/GM-zxrpgTXI/s1600/goodie6.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="425" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-L7dLSWWukrU/TfzwMQy3C_I/AAAAAAAAA_Q/GM-zxrpgTXI/s640/goodie6.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">{notice the gap, make sure to hot glue this!}</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-qFHnVW8u1e4/TfzwNYg7RKI/AAAAAAAAA_U/caHH3aukKI0/s1600/goodie7.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="425" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-qFHnVW8u1e4/TfzwNYg7RKI/AAAAAAAAA_U/caHH3aukKI0/s640/goodie7.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div>{STEP FOUR} Cut off the white part on the top (guide lines) <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-1-C8QBKSVW4/TfzwOpnkwXI/AAAAAAAAA_Y/a9FiCog9CQs/s1600/goodie8.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="425" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-1-C8QBKSVW4/TfzwOpnkwXI/AAAAAAAAA_Y/a9FiCog9CQs/s640/goodie8.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><br />
That's all you need to do to make cute little goodie bags!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-T1xUdMXBMnw/TfzwRt24dWI/AAAAAAAAA_g/z99bCkynLiY/s1600/goodie10.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="425" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-T1xUdMXBMnw/TfzwRt24dWI/AAAAAAAAA_g/z99bCkynLiY/s640/goodie10.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><br />
I included a generic label striped bag for download in yellow.</div><div align="center"><br />
<br />

<br />
This 8 x 10 sign welcomed guests as they entered the kitchen. </div><div align="center"><br />
I like to think this sign set the tone for the party.<br />
<br />
It incorporates the theme and is a cute touch to welcome guests. <br />
<br />
I printed on 80lb card stock and put it in a large 8 x 10 picture frame that I found at my house.<br />
<br />
Pretty inexpensive accent piece!<br />
<br />
I updated this sign to be generic enough for people to use as a bridal shower or birthday party welcome sign. <br />

If anyone knows how to include a PDF file without directing readers to a third party site for downloading please let me know. I think it would be 10x easier for everyone to access these printables without having to wait to download from another site.<br />

<br />
Happy 2nd Birthday to my sweet little girl <br />
<br />
Evelyn Kate<br />
<br />
I remember the first words I said to her on that warm Saturday evening in June, "I'm so sorry I messed up your head." haha actually it is very funny that those were the first words I said. Her head went round after a few hours but I seriously felt so bad! She was in the canal for a long time and I wasn't doing such hot job pushing. Funny what you think of saying after 14 hours of labor and wacky meds. <br />
<br />
She is so sweet and just started giving real kisses. She will only kiss you if you allow her to kiss your lips. So sweet. <br />
<br />
Although at times she might be a handful for my 8 month pregnant body - I wouldn't change a second. Even the emotional breakdowns at the grocery store. Don't you love it when kids just know the greatest time to pull a tantrum? <br />
<br />
Tonight we are going to grab some ice cream. She loves ice cream. Actually she loves anything that involves sugar.<br />
<br />
Little Miss Evelyn Kate Happy 2nd Birthday :)</div>ashleyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16964536396382802785noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-976721343459980078.post-14171828360471494052011-06-12T21:26:00.000-04:002011-06-12T21:26:18.331-04:00Sweet Shoppe Party - Kickoff!<div align="center">{ S W E E T S H O P P E P A R T Y }<br />

I am so excited for this week! I have several tutorials/printables to share with everyone!!!<br />
<br />
Evelyn's 2nd Birthday was a success. <br />
<br />
I can't believe she is 2!<br />
<br />
It seems like yesterday we brought her home from the hospital.<br />

Yes, with a head full of hair. It never fell out!<br />
<br />
I wanted to share several photos from the party.<br />

{1} Crumble up all the oreo cookies (very fine) use a food processor if you have one {2} Mix room temp-ish cream cheese with the oreo crumbles (by hand) {3} Roll the mixture into small 1-1.5 in. diameter balls {4} Melt 12 oz of chocolate and 1 tbs of shortening in the microwave (make sure not to burn and stir often!) Total time for me was around 1:30 minutes. {5} Add food coloring to the chocolate. {6} Dip the truffle balls in the chocolate {7} Lay on a baking sheet covered with wax paper, add sprinkles and stick in the freezer/refrigerator to solidify {8} Remove after an hour or until they are hard and place in an air tight container.<br />

<br />
A month or so ago I decided to move all the old family room furniture into the living room. </div><div align="center"><br />
This is what the living room looks like now. The chaise lounge is obviously way too big for the space but it will work fine here until we get a chance to move it downstairs.</div><div align="center"><br />
</div><div align="center" class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-EXZVHcOj2kk/TewpNvduIaI/AAAAAAAAA68/aMP1UOoF8UE/s1600/livingroom_1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-EXZVHcOj2kk/TewpNvduIaI/AAAAAAAAA68/aMP1UOoF8UE/s400/livingroom_1.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><div align="center"><br />
I pulled all of the decorations from around the house {and from the basement.} I want to try to reuse as many accessories as possible. </div><div align="center"><br />
</div><div align="center"><br />
</div><div align="center" class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-UXW0Kc1Yq48/TewpO5LOQcI/AAAAAAAAA7A/NozSR3ofkNY/s1600/livingroom_2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-UXW0Kc1Yq48/TewpO5LOQcI/AAAAAAAAA7A/NozSR3ofkNY/s400/livingroom_2.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><div align="center" class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />

</div><div align="center" class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">While putting the room together I decided to make a purchase!</div><div align="center"><br />
</div><div align="center">I purchased these curtains for the living room.</div><div align="center"><br />
<img alt="Silk Paisley Window Panel" class="photo" height="363" id="hero-image" src="http://www.westelm.com/weimgs/ab/images/wcm/products/201109/0043/img30m.jpg" title="Silk Paisley Window Panel" width="363" /></div><div align="center">{ <a href="http://www.westelm.com/products/silk-paisley-window-panel-r920/?pkey=e%7Cpaislet%7C26%7Cbest%7C0%7C1%7C24%7C%7C1&cm_src=PRODUCTSEARCH||NoFacet-_-NoFacet-_-Common%20Rule%20Top%20Wide%20Kitchen-_-">via west elm</a> }</div><div align="center"><br />
I love these curtains. I hope they work well with the furniture I already have. </div><div align="center"><br />
Oh and that wall color is changing. Daniel and I narrowed it down to 3 colors. <br />
<br />
-----------------------------------------------------------------<br />
<br />
K I T C H E N</div><div align="center"><br />
When we first bought our house we measured our french door blinds incorrectly. We couldn't screw them in without cracking the glass door. Talk about a $300 oopsie. About 2 years ago I had the bright idea of using 3M tape. It says it can hold up to 5lbs! It held for almost 2 years but the french door blind (the one in motion) just fell off. Ok, no biggie, just go and buy another $5 roll of 3M tape. This time the tape only held up for maybe 4 days. Sad, this meant that I either needed to order more blinds (super expensive) or figure out another solution...</div><div align="center"><br />
I ended up buying a set of curtains for the kitchen french doors.</div><div align="center"><br />
<img alt="Ikat Ogee Linen Window Panel" class="photo" height="363" id="hero-image" src="http://www.westelm.com/weimgs/ab/images/wcm/products/201050/0015/img54m.jpg" title="Ikat Ogee Linen Window Panel" width="363" /></div><div align="center">{ <a href="http://www.westelm.com/products/ikat-ogee-linen-window-panel-r917/?pkey=cwindow-panels-curtains-shades">via west elm</a> }</div><div align="center"><br />
I hope the curtains don't look funny next to french doors. I figure I can attach and tie them back when we need to go in and out of the door. </div><div align="center"><br />
-----------------------------------------------------------------</div><div align="center"><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">D I N I N G R O O M</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div></div><div align="center">Eventually when the dining room is finished I want to purchase these curtains in the gray color.<br />
</div><div align="center"></div><div align="center"><img __eventbits="229501" alt="Firenze Embroidered Panel" class="gwt-pdp-main-image" src="http://a248.e.akamai.net/f/248/9086/10h/origin-d1.scene7.com/is/image/ballarddesigns/FD042_main?$w400$" style="cursor: pointer;" title="Firenze Embroidered Panel" /></div><div align="center">{ <a href="http://www.ballarddesigns.com/firenze-embroidered-panel/panels-draperies/window-treatments/13960">via ballard designs</a> }</div><div align="center"><br />
These panels are extremely expensive and I can only justify paying the price because 1) I love them and 2) it is for a dining room. Other than that there is NO way I would pay that much for curtains.<br />
<br />
I'm excited to share the demo progress later this week...The laundry room is completely demolished!<br />
<br />
Have a great Monday!</div>ashleyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16964536396382802785noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-976721343459980078.post-55221242811271497522011-06-04T12:53:00.000-04:002011-06-04T12:53:07.188-04:00Recipe Cards: Free Printable<div align="center">My friends wedding shower is coming up in a few weeks and all the invites are requested to bring along a recipe for the bride to be.</div><div align="center"><br />

</div><div align="center">Ah, so much to do...so little time.</div><div align="center"><br />
</div><div align="center">I made a list of things that I need to do this week/weekend:</div><div align="center">1. Clean out the playroom closet (I have clothes in there from my high school years!)</div><div align="center">2. Clean Harrison's room</div><div align="center">3. Organize Master Bedroom closet</div><div align="center">4. Finish up craft projects for Harrison's room<br />
5. Prepare all of Evelyn's 2nd Birthday decorations</div><div align="center"><br />
</div><div align="center">Now on to the fun stuff...I ordered a bunch of great items for the new playroom. </div><div align="center"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-j-Cv2gz6PjU/TeY3BVEcgAI/AAAAAAAAA6g/-sXrjWNEiC4/s1600/bookshelf.bmp" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="315" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-j-Cv2gz6PjU/TeY3BVEcgAI/AAAAAAAAA6g/-sXrjWNEiC4/s320/bookshelf.bmp" t8="true" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">{ <a href="http://www.landofnod.com/kids-bookcases/kids-furniture/white-bin-there-done-that-floor-book-bin/f5381">land of nod</a> }</div><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-lCqKL9WxJG0/TeY3En6p6VI/AAAAAAAAA6k/Vwlummlwk-k/s1600/playtable.bmp" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="317" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-lCqKL9WxJG0/TeY3En6p6VI/AAAAAAAAA6k/Vwlummlwk-k/s320/playtable.bmp" t8="true" width="320" /></a></div><div align="center">{ <a href="http://www.landofnod.com/kids-play-tables-and-chairs/kids-furniture/white-low-activity-table/f666#">land of nod</a> }</div><div align="center"><br />
</div><div align="center">I am in *love* with the blue walls. We plan on painting the room this color.</div><div align="center"><br />
</div><div align="center">We purchased...</div><div align="center">:: a rug ::</div><div align="center">:: curtains ::</div><div align="center">:: 2 bookcases ::</div><div align="center">:: bean bag chairs ::</div><div align="center">:: book bin ::</div><div align="center"><br />
</div><div align="center">Most of the items are on back order for a few weeks so hopefully we will get the room together before the baby arrives! {I don't think paint fumes mix well with a new baby}<br />
</div><div align="center">Other bigger "to-do's" (aka Daniel's to-do list) before the baby comes</div><div align="center">1) trim around the hardwood floors</div><div align="center">2) laundry room upstairs (we are demolishing to save some money)</div><div align="center">3) dining room wainscoting</div><div align="center">4) window casing around dining room and living room windows</div><div align="center">5) painting the laundry room after the remodel (again we are doing to save money!)</div><div align="center">6) painting mudroom and new walk-in pantry (saving more money!)</div><div align="center">7) painting playroom<br />
8) painting living room</div><div align="center"><br />
</div><div align="center">See what I mean by wishing I had more time before the baby arrives?!<br />
<br />
There are only so many weekends left...with Army training - that cuts the weekends down even more. <br />
<br />
Hopefully we will tackle most of the items above before Harrison's arrival!</div><div align="center"><br />

</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">The floors are finished in the living room and almost finished in the dining room.</div></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">Daniel is working very hard to get everything finished by later this evening.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">Evelyn and I got out of the house yesterday and enjoyed our time with my family at my parents home. </div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">I felt bad leaving him but he basically begged us to leave. I guess we keep him from doing work!</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">I'm sure he is exhausted from this weekend and is ready to take a nice hot bubble bath. I'm pretty sure he feels it in his back (and all over) today. </div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">Some photos...</div><div style="text-align: center;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-GfL0WwYRzDM/TeTNF0TifSI/AAAAAAAAA6Y/nx4XotMTzeo/s1600/livingroom3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="275" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-GfL0WwYRzDM/TeTNF0TifSI/AAAAAAAAA6Y/nx4XotMTzeo/s400/livingroom3.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-hvyoMVpfpVY/TeTNHbVj8hI/AAAAAAAAA6c/Xm7QzdwYIOA/s1600/diningroomlivingroom.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-hvyoMVpfpVY/TeTNHbVj8hI/AAAAAAAAA6c/Xm7QzdwYIOA/s400/diningroomlivingroom.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><br />
Gosh, I swear whenever we do one project I have so many more ideas for future projects. I dislike how the stained staircase looks next to the new wood floors. Yuck! Talk about a major clash in stain colors. </div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
I plan on painting the bottom white and then staining the handrails to match the wood floors. Hopefully that will tie everything together!</div><div style="text-align: center;"></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
I hope everyone had a great Memorial Day weekend! Thank you Daniel, and others that serve(d) our country!<br />

Oh...and quick question - is anyone else having issues with blogger spacing on posts? I am getting so frustrated! I'm about to make the move to word press. Have any of you moved your blogs over to a different platform? </div>ashleyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16964536396382802785noreply@blogger.com0
