Tell me about yourself. What's your background?

Norman - I'm from PHX, AZ. I played sports throughout my entire life all the way through college. I played in Dallas, TX and my Montana where I was on a full ride basketball scholarship which allowed me to complete my degree. I majored in Art and minored in communications. Although I was very talented in sports, I've always had a comedic outlook in life and a passion for comedy. I would always make my friends and people around me laugh. I grew up with 2 brothers and 1 sister, but my mom would watch a bunch of other kids after school and I would always make videos to make people laugh and show my classmates, my teachers, and everyone I would meet. People loved them. Boy I wish Youtube was big back then. I started writing for some friends of mine that were doing comedy and would go and watch them perform the jokes and one day it'd hit me, "Why don't I get up there and do this"? SO I did and that is where my journey began.

Well, you sure do have an amazing story. When did you decide to become a Comedian?

Norman - I feel I became a comedian in the first grade when I had a crush on this girl and I would always make her laugh. Or when my travel basketball team would go on trips and everyone would come home from school to watch SNL and Mad TV tapes all of the time, then would try to make my own skits. But stand up seriously about 1 year ago full time. I saw people making a lot of money off what I had been doing for free.

I'd say that was a smart transition. Why not get paid for doing what you love? So what else are you great at?

Norman - I don't know if I am great at everything though that's sound good. I have a lot of hobbies Basketball, Cutting hair, painting, drawing, Photography, music, and Producing is a big hobby of mine but my kryptonite's MATH. I asked my mom and she said I was great at surviving.

Hmm... seems like we have a couple of things in common! What's your future goals for your career path?

Norman - I plan on continuing to hone my craft. Doing stand up, Acting, and Producing. I would love to just follow my passions and I believe that your passions lead you right to your purpose. I just want to make a positive impact in people's lives. Make them laugh and be a good example that you can be anything you just have to be willing to work hard and if you love what you do, you will enjoy the work. So when it's all said and done I want more done than said!!

Where are you from? Could you give me a snippet of your background?

Hey, I’m from Buffalo, New York, but spent most of my life just 20 minutes away in a small suburb, Williamsville. I started out taking video classes in high school and I saw how serious I was about it, and it eventually led me to go to film school and here we are today!

That's cool! When did you first decide to work in the film industry? What are all of your skills?

Pretty young actually. When I was about 11 years old, my church started
broadcasting the services on television. I started out just doing little thing to help
out the media department, but once they allowed me to operate the camera I knew
it was what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. At least in some aspect. Its funny,
as time went on I found that I love directing music videos, even though editing,
camera operating and photography are other skills that I have and also enjoy doing.

That's amazing JD. Have you worked on any recent projects? Are you working on anything for the future?

I actually just shot a music video for an artist signed to island Def Jam named Cris Cab earlier this week. It was so cool to be given such an opportunity like that, and shoots like this actually open more doors and get me more jobs to do in the future. I'll always be working on something in the future, I try to stay busy by continuing photo shoots and editing other directors music videos. All this keeps my mind fresh and in that creative element.

I'm so happy for you! Great things continue to happen. What are your goals as you continue to work in the entertainment industry?

As I progress as a Director everyday and as a creative in general, I make new goals for myself very often. One of my biggest goals that I really want to achieve is becoming a signed Director. I don’t want to be your average director; I really want to be a director that actually has a following, cult or fan base. I’m just a very social person and I love people, and having a fan base is super cool to me. Also just having fun at all times while I do this, it can get very stressful, but if you have fun all the
time, it makes it that much better.

Michael Shelly

What's your background? Where are you from?

I'm originally from Bonita Springs, Florida but moved to Orlando for music. Been living here for a little over a year now working out of Plush Studios with my manager Corday Cardwell and engineer Mr. B The Blender.

That's cool. So what encouraged you to pursue a career in the music industry?

I've always had an interest in music but never really planned on pursuing it as a career until my senior year in high school. I didn't have the grades to go to a regular university and I didn't have the interest. I realized that music is all I wanted to do and refused to settle for anything but music.

Some things are just meant to be! How long have you been doing music? Describe your style.

I've been making music for about 5-6 years but was recording out of my bedroom at home until I was given the opportunity to work with industry professionals at Plush. So I've been professional recording for a little over a year now. I've also been playing and reading instruments ever since I was a little kid in grade school. My style of music I would say is a blend of hip-hop mixed with electro-pop, acoustic, and even a little punk rock in there too.

It's safe to say that you have a profound blend of music. Who are some artists and producers that you've worked with? Anyone internationally?

Lately I've been collaborating with some local Orlando artists such as Roquois, Wankaego, & Andre Vega to name a few. You can expect a lot more collabs with artists this up coming year. But me being a producer myself I prefer work with musicians over producers. Working a lot with my guitarist Jon "Boston" Whynock. Also, I've been working with music producer AYO The Producer. Expect to see some production on my next project from him.

I'm very familiar with AYO's work. Are you currently working on any new projects or events?

I'm always working on new things. Everything you recently seen me release, I'm already 5 steps ahead of that! Got a lot of stuff coming out just waiting to finalize things before announcing any titles. But for events I always have random shows pop up out of nowhere. So keep your eyes open on my Facebook page for upcoming events.

I'll definitely be on the look out! What can we expect from you as an artist?

One thing I tell a lot of people to expect from me as an artist is to be surprised. I'm always trying new things and my team that helps me along the way is always pushing me to try new things. So expect the unexpected.

Tyga's Artist, Freddy E Allegedly Commits Suicide

Aside from Freddy E being signed to rapper Tyga's label, he also made a name for himself on his Youtube Channel "Jerk TV". Apparently, he took his life after an online exchange with his girlfriend, rapper Honey Cocaine. Freddy E sent out tweets right before this tragedy,

"If there's a God then he's calling me back home. This barrel never felt so good next to my dome. It's cold & I'd rather die than live alone," he wrote last night. He followed that crypticc message with a series of apologies to his parents before writing, "God please forgive me. I'm sorry".

Stories like this really troubles my spirit. If you are ever feeling to the point to comment suicide, please first seek help by speaking to a loved one or someone you trust. Life is so precious. My prayers and thoughts goes out to Freddy E's family, friends, and fans.

Evelyn & Chad back at it?

There has been a lot of speculation that Evelyn Lozada and Chad Johnson have reunited after being spotted together holding hands recently. Well, Evelyn has decided to set the record straight. "I attended a dinner with Chad's daughter, not only because I love baby girl like my own, but to support Chad and his fan appreciation dinner," Lozada wrote. " While at the dinner, several photos popped up on the internet of Chad and I holding hands, while in the process of blessing the food. The blogs made last night seem as though, we walked hand and hand into the restaurant announcing a reunion, which isn't the case." Now there is not doubt that Evelyn cares for chad, because they are friends. However, they are still separated.

These two lovebirds were together on New Year's Eve, the happy couple appeared together at a party in Las Vegas and Kim showed off her new little baby bump in a form-fitting, peekaboo, black lace Julien Macdonald evening gown. This is an exciting way to bring in the New Years! I'm so happy for Kanye and Kim. What are your thoughts?

Hey Jahir, thank you for doing this interview with me. Tell me about yourself. What encouraged you to pursue a career in the music industry?

I remember being in high school… it had to be my freshman year. A good
friend of mines was in a popular local group at the time, just being
around them influenced me to start writing. Ill admit I wasn’t that good
at first lol!! But I kept working on it, just because I loved the art form of
writing and eventually I became pretty good at it.

Well at least you admit that if at first you fail you must try again! How long have you been doing music? Describe your style of music.

I was 18 the 1st time I ever recorded in a real studio, so I would say
somewhere around then. My style of music is thought provoking and
very personal to me. I give the listeners insight about who I am while
presenting it in way so they can feel like YO! I can relate to that cuz I've
been through it.

That's exactly what the industry needs. More music where people can relate. What makes you different versus your competitors in the industry?

I bring a certain level of honesty in my music. Im not afraid to put it
all on the line. I Feel most artist are afraid on letting the people know
how REAL life really is. Everyday ain't a good one ya dig…every sky aint
sunny.

And that's real! Who are some artists that you’ve worked with? Anyone internationally?

Nael Shehade , Flawless Tracks, 1120, Mike Jaxx, D-Win, D-Train, Yung
Air, D2g, Aye Burks, Cory Cache these are a few of my personal friends
they are all very talented Producers/Artist/Singers. I've worked with Dj
Ames from UK on a mixtape called live from the house of paid.

That's great Jahir. You definitely have a hefty Are you currently working on any new projects or events?

Im currently working on a self titled album Jahir ( Judgement. And.
Hardship. Is. Reality) and a mixtape called Who is Jahir. I've been
keeping myself busy with that. I'll also be launching a lifestyle blog very
soon. It's all rebuilding and rebranding with me right now with bigger
and better plans ahead.

I can't wait to check out the lifestyle blog. It's going to help your fans connect with you on an even personal level. What are your future goals as an artist?

I want to be able to change lives by doing what I love most…music

"Music and comedy royalty struck a defiant tone in a benefit concert for Superstorm Sandy victims on Wednesday, asking for help to rebuild a New York metropolitan area most of them know well". The sold out show was held in Madison Square Garden with a lot of celebrity performances and assistance. Mark Steele: Question Mark

So who exactly is Mark Steele? I’d like to know more about you.

Mark Steele: It’s kind of dope that you asked that because my whole brand is based
off that one question, who is Mark Steele? To be truthfully honest, even I’m still
trying to figure out that answer. Everyday I’m growing and maturing as a man and
as an artist; and I have these constant battles with myself about the person I want
to be vs. the person I am becoming. So just like any true artist, I thought it would
be dope to try and bring my audience along with me on that journey. But to sum it
all up what I can tell you is that Mark Steele is just a normal kid from Durham, NC;
blessed with extraordinary talent and with an even more extraordinary amount of
ambition to achieve his dreams.

I appreciate your honest answer so much. I can definitely relate to the constant battle that we experience with ourselves. So what encouraged you to pursue a career in the music industry? What all do you do?

Mark Steele: Well ever since I can remember I’ve always had a gift musically, but
the blame for encouraging me to pursue this as a career has to be placed on my
uncle Ice Rocka. When I was about 14 he started an indie label based out of Durham,
NC called Stillhouse Records. He signed me along with my longtime friend Mike
Lowrey as a rap duo called “Mic & Rep”. Once we accomplished a little success such as
being place in the “Unsigned Hype” section of The Source Magazine(Feb. 07) I knew
this was something I wanted to do forever. Rapping, directing videos, recording,
mixing, engineering, and designing clothes are the only things I do right now. I
haven’t reached my full potential yet, skill or success wise, so I don’t think I’ll be
adding anything else to my resume until I do.(laugh)

You have so much to offer! It's good to never limit yourself to what you can do. Even you don't know your greatest potential. Mark, who are some artists that you’ve worked with? As a hip-hop artist, how do you stand out?

Mark Steele: I’ve been rapping for awhile so I’ve worked with plenty of artist over
the years. I think so far the most notable collaborations are with Young Money
artist Cory Gunz and 9th Wonder’s Jamla Records artist Rapsody. To stand out as a
hip hop artist I just try to simply remain me. Out of 6.6 billion people in this world
there's only one of me. I try to focus on that fact when I’m making a song and so far
it’s seem to work. Hate to sound kind of cliche.

Wow, that's amazing. By the way, Congratulations on your new album! What’s the
story behind it?

Mark Steele: Thanks! Although I wouldn’t quite call it an album, it’s all
original tracks and its album format but I’d prefer to consider it a mixtape. Its
called “Question Mark” and its my 2nd solo project. It’s actually a spin off of my
1st solo mixtape titled “Who Is Mark Steele?” Like I touched on earlier, as I mature
as individual, I also grow as an artist as well and on this project I touched on a lot
different topics based off that one issue. For example there is a song on the project
called “Balance” where I talk about the interpersonal conflict I have between fully
catering toward the “mainstream” sound or the “underground” sound, because I’m
in love with both and I’m also good at them both so its hard to neglect one or the
other. There's also a lot more topics so I feel the whole tape is a great piece of work
that everyone should enjoy it.

That's dope. Do you have any specific goals as you continue to work in the industry?

Mark Steele: Honestly, I just want to get whatever's coming to me, because either way its coming..

Tell me about yourself. Where are you from?

DJ Upgrade - I was born in south California raised in the Oakland/Bay Area. I'm one of "Too Short's" newest artist, and I'm next up. I got my name cause I always try to upgrade my verses and I know how to do a lot of things.

That's dope. How long have you been rapping? What else do you do?

DJ Upgrade - I've been rapping serious for 4 years. I'm also known for producing just as much as rapping. I know how to engineer and I mixed majority of my hits but I stopped as soon as I found a solid engineer.

Cool. So who are some artists that you've worked with? Are you internationally known?

DJ Upgrade - Too Short, E40, Sleepy D, D-lo, Love Rance, St. Spitta, Wifey, Db tha General. We came up together.

Oh yes, I recognize some of those artists. What differentiates you from other rappers that are already known in the entertainment industry?

DJ Upgrade - The same thing that put them on, originality. I don't even sound like a bay rapper. That's because I built my style this way. I have my own sound, but don't get me wrong I feed the club with bangers and the same thing goes with the street. I have songs like Unthinkable, Reflection, and my theme song where I showcase how lyrical and deep I can take the audience.

No doubt! Now what would you say have been your biggest accomplishments thus far?

DJ Upgrade - I'm on the "Too Short/40" project track 17 CALI and I produced the track. I'm on 2 tracks off of his "No Trespassin" album too.

That's definitely wassup. Do you have any specific goals as being in the industry?

DJ Upgrade - As far as the industry imma network my ass off but I don't wanna fall into the hype of making music for the industry or established rappers. I wanna show the industry that bay rappers are lyrically marketable etc. I wanna be signed or have an independent lable under my belt by the end of the next summer.

Rap & Hip-Hop Artist: RyMic The King

I’d like to know more about you. How did you come up with your stage name “RyMic The King”?

I came up with the name RyMic The King because RyeMike was always a nickname that some members of my family called me, but I used to hate it so bad. It was ridiculous. It’s quite a story as to why I chose the name, so brace yourself haha. I was in that stage where I rapped, but I couldn’t find the right name. I went through about 5 million of the corniest names on earth until I finally settled on my initials. I figured “Hey! They’re my initials, what could go wrong?” Then I saw other people with the name being used as an acronym, businesses using the name, diseases, etc. The thing about acronyms is that people use them so much that they can be used by anybody for any meaning. Plus the thought that there are so many other people with those initials that even more people could try to use it too made me ditch it. Once I scrapped my initials, I was in that stage where I was going through corny names again that about 5 million people already had. I remember my cousin telling me he was going to rap against some guy named “illicit” and to look him up, I looked up the name and there were a ton of cookie cutter artists everywhere with the same name. That was after I chose my name, but it’s an example of exactly something I didn’t want. I chose RyeMike despite not liking it figuring others wouldn’t like it too. Putting in mind all of the other people named RyeMike, I spelled Mike with a C so it was “Mic” like a microphone. I dropped the e in Rye because it really isn’t necessary and then to make it even more likely that nobody would ever touch my shit, I added “The King”. I chose “The King” not knowing that a bunch of other jabronis out here are calling themselves “Da King” or “Tha King” or something along those lines. I had no idea that people were doing that, I just chose “The King” because I made two songs before the name change called “Taking Over Your World” and “Kingpin Ballin’” and I just kind of carried that over into the name.

Now that's a funny story. At least you have a great story behind your name. I think it's very catchy. What encouraged you to pursue a career in the music industry? What all do you do?

Nothing and nobody encouraged me to pursue a career in the music industry. It’s just something that I’ve wanted to do for the longest time. Through the years people have told me to be more realistic and to try doing something else instead. I don’t want to do anything else. This music is it for me. Although after a while of doing music, everyone who hears my music and tells me “That was awesome! Keep doing what you’re doing!” really keeps me going. I don’t know what I would do if I didn’t hear those things.

I understand. Well it's good that you've developed a passion for music. I'm sure the motivation will keep you going. Who are some artists that you’ve worked with? As a hip-hop artist, how do you stand out?

As an artist, I am a little different because I rap about different things. A lot of subjects I rap about, nobody else does. If they do use the same subject, they certainly don’t do it the same way that I do. Another thing that sets me apart is that I make a lot of funny songs, but they are not all funny. Whereas artists like Weird Al make only funny songs and artists like DMX make songs that are always hardcore, I could go either way. I like to give off the vibe that I’m a funny guy, but I’m not a joke.

I’ve worked with artists from all over. Some of the artists that I’ve worked with are: No Emotion Goldmask, Toombs, Slick Chops, and Snail.

That's a creative niche and will help you stand out as an artist. Are you currently working on anything new?

As of right now, I’m just pushing my last mixtape (The Way Mixtape 2) farther out. I’m currently on a talent search for other artists and producers to work with on future projects. I do occasional collaborations on other artists’ projects too. I am considering getting a label off the ground, but at the moment I have labels looking my direction to sign me as an artist, so I’d like to hear what they have to say first before I go all out and get other people involved in my movement.

That's wonderful! I hope that works out for you RyMic :). Do you have any specific goals as you continue to work in the industry?

My first goal in music is to be successful as an artist. By successful, I mean that I want to be able to go on tour and book shows anywhere in the country and have a great turnout. I want people to hear my music from all around and respect what I do. My second goal is as a businessperson. I want to be able to make money from my music so that I can live without doing another job that I don’t like to do. Nobody expects anybody from other professions to get jobs to support themselves. If you
want to be a lawyer, nobody says that you could stock shelves at Wal Mart and be a Lawyer too. They just expect them to be a lawyer. That’s the way I think it should be for me as an artist. I shouldn’t have to work the drive thru window just to live, and then make music on the side for almost nothing. I just want to make music and support myself from my music and my music alone. Ideally, I’d like to make enough to where I won’t have to worry about rent and things like that. I just want to have things paid so I could just live free and do what I love to do.

Tell me about yourself.

I’m a pure creator. Many refer to me as the “weird chick” and I embrace it. It means I’m doing SOMETHING right. To be “weird” means I’m noticed for my originality. That’s the utmost compliment to an artist.

I'm sure it is. What is your profession in the industry? Tell me of when you discovered your talent.

I’m a visual artist. Over the years I’ve acquired so many skills that I can no longer tie myself to a single profession. I do it all, from drawing portraits and painting murals to mastering photoshop which lead to a career in graphic design, including animation. I’m a crude tagger when time allows. When I find myself around a blank canvas, whether it be a pair of shoes, some one's nails, a wall, it doesn't matter. I grab a marker or some paint and get down to business. I’ve always been hungry to grow as an artist every since grade school. Once I discovered that my passion could be my career, I set out to conquer my dreams of being a memorable creator.

Wonderfully put. That feeling of when you discover all that you can do with what you're passionate in is indescribable. What are some challenges that you face working in this industry?

Wow, where do I begin. At this point I would have to say one of the challenges would be establishing a lane. By doing so many different styles of art, I’ve easily gotten lost in the mix. There are so many talented artists in the world, but the key to being noticed is branding your own originality. For example, Picasso, Dali, Andy Warhol... These are all names that we’ve heard of. I hope to one day be apart of a list of memorable artists. The most important challenge to overcome as an artist is tuning the world out. Yes, I’m aiming to be noticed, but It can’t be done until the criticism and opinions of the world are ignored. I recently discovered that subconsciously I’ve been letting the world edit my expression. The realization was a hard pill to swallow but also a breathe of fresh air. It filled an emptiness I was feeling with each project I created. I’m no longer giving “projects”. I’m giving out my signature to be seen by the world. Not just some artist. I’m Vavi Crude!

Woah! Your answer was so powerful. I believe that you will be very prosperous by keeping that mindset. Very impressive Vavi. Who have you done work for?

I’m the visual curator for Jr.Celeb, a business full of talented minds based in Chicago.

I’ve done a number of visuals for hip-hop artists from all over. Some of my work will be debuted as the cover art for upcoming Chicago artists such as Jon Content, WeWinnin, and a collaboration piece for Freddy Boom. I’ve lost count of the number of logos, flyers, illustrations, portraits, nails, shirts, shoes, tattoo sketches.. I mean the list goes on. See, I had to choose a lane!

You definitely have a mix of experience. Are there any new projects/events that you’re working on?

I’m currently painting... ALOT. I will be having an art show at the end of this month. It’s time to show Chicago that I’m here and there’s a bunch of dope shit going on in my brain. Give the world a preview of what’s to come from Vavi Crude.

An art show?! Wow! I'd love to come to it. Remember to give me the information. What can we expect from Vavi Crude in the future?

I'm in the process of studying the art of tattooing. That, along with becoming a nail artist along side amazing designer, Spifster, of Chicago. These two crafts are things I’ve put off for a while in order to learn the ins and outs of graphic design. Im ready to get my hands dirty again, I’m ready to make love to the Ink , paint, and polish. Birth some amazing CRUDE pieces. Its time to show what I can do. I plan to exceed my expectations, I always seem to surprise myself by breaking the limits I place in my own path. I’m ready to grow!

Tell me about yourself.

To start, I was born and raised in Miami, Florida and grew up in a single parent household. Growing up as the only child, I had a huge imagination that I now believe is the reason for a lot of things that I do today. I like to label myself as a “jack of many trades”. I’ve already received my Bachelors degree in Art & Design and currently studying for my Master’s in Entertainment Business. That’s what I know about myself for sure as of today because I am always learning new things about myself everyday.

Nice. What is your profession in the industry? Tell me of when you discovered your talent.

I would say that my profession in this industry would be graphic design, public relations and marketing. I first discovered my talent for design around the age of 14, but didn’t take it serious until I was about 18 because it was then that I realized that I could use that to help me get into the other areas of work that I eventually wanted to be known for. Also…having Nicki Minaj use multiple design pieces that I did of her as promo during her come up helped me realize my talent a lot!

What a wonderful opportunity you were granted to start off on this journey! What are some challenges that you face working in the entertainment industry?

Being a female is definitely a challenge that I’m starting to face in this industry a lot lately. I always feel that I have to go extra miles just to prove myself. I don’t mind any type of challenge though because it helps me grow as a person and professional.

Wow Crystal, I'd have to agree 100%. We females do have to go the extra miles to prove ourselves, but in the end it only makes a more experienced and stronger. Who have you done work for in the industry?

As of today, I’ve done work for Love & Hip Hop Atlanta star, K. Michelle, So So Def recording artist, Dondria, Mindless Behavior, Kyron Leslie, Shanell of Young Money, D-Mac, and upcoming music production duo, De-Capo Music Group to name a few. I’ve also done work with Shanica Knowles, Jade Alston and Vakseen.

You go girl! People, do you see this young ladies credentials? This is only the beginning Crys. Are there any new projects/events that you’re working on?

Currently I am getting things together for two major projects that I plan to launch by the beginning of next year. I also have an event idea in the works that I will start working on to bring to life very soon. I’m always working on something!

I’m working extremely hard right now to be able to bring all of those visions I’ve had for myself to life. Only God knows what my future will really hold but one thing for sure is that you can expect much success from Crystal Annick!

What encouraged you to pursue a career in the music industry?

Humanity encouraged me to pursue my career in the music industry. I hate seeing poverty and homelessness. I wanna do my part and make a difference in the world . As a child growing up I was always admired by people, and I manage to make them smile no matter what they going through.

That's inspiring. How long have you been doing music? Describe your style.

As a child growing up I always loved music . At age 6 I started playing instruments like piano, guitar and drums. I describe my music as pop, hip hop with reggae flavor.

That's an interesting mix for a profound sound. So what makes you different versus your competitors in the industry?

All of my music have live instruments and we add a lot different sounds and style in my songs (reggae flavor with caribbean flow with the lyrics).

That's definitely a competitive advantage. Who are 3 people that inspire you and why.

Bob Marley he expressed true life experience with also solution .

Victorious big I saw the struggle how he turns a negative into positive. I'm really impressed by that and I know anything is possible

Michael Jackson we all know their is a little Michael in everyone . He took the world , through his music a lot of good for the world came out.

Kanye west -very creative also number one producer. He takes chances with different song of music and make them a hit I love making beats in my spare time maybe one day I can share it with the world.

They're all so inspirational and creative in so many different ways. Who are some artists that you’ve worked with? Anyone internationally?

"Barrington levy" we have projects in the studio in the making. "Magazine May Bach" artist also we have projects being made in the studio.

Wonderful! Are you currently working on any new projects or events?

I have 2 new single come out "stand down" very excited about that cause it expresses my true feeling about the negativity in the world (ex: stereotyping) .

I am ,you are , we are worthy movement is my new non profit organization . Teen awareness program for all races.

You are definitely an aspiring advocate for the young generation. What are your future goals as an artist?

Hopefully I can carry the torch of the legends before me who paved the way and make the world a better place because I know that what they wanted.

Tell me more about yourself Leo.

Leo - Born November 22, 1992 to Jennifer and Leo Sibilly. I am a Soca Artist out of St. Thomas, USVI. I was brought up around music and I have loved music ever since I could remember. When I was younger my dad was apart of local bands and that sort of influenced me to become a musician. That also helped me with creating my own sound as a musician. I attended "All Saints Cathedral School" where I received my high school diploma and continued on to a higher education. I am currently studying Recording Arts at Full Sail University.

So it's safe to say that music is a big part of your life. What encouraged you to become a Soca Artist?

Leo - Due to growing up in the Virgin Islands Soca music has been in my life forever and I have always wanted to sing in front of big crowds. So why not try it out? Soca is also my favorite genre of music. When I was younger I use to hold shows for family members to attend. I sang the hot Soca hits out that year.

That's cool. Do you do anything else besides sing?

Leo - I am also a song writer and producer. I do a lot of work with Birdnest Music Group as a writer and producer. I have written songs for "Volume Band" and Soca Artist "Tian Winters"!

Well Congratulations to both of those placements! What artists inspire you and why?

Leo - A couple of artists that inspires me are "Machel Montano" and "Kes The Band". Machel really inspires me because he is Mr. Fete himself and the music he has done has inspired people all around the world. He is someone I look up to and strive to be on the same level or even better.

I agree, the both of them are phenomenal artists. I love their music. What are your future goals as an artist?

Leo - I want to be up there with the greats and be able to travel the world. I want people to remember my music for years down the road. Also, I want to become a contestant and win the "Soca Monarch in Trinidad".

Tell me your background. Where are you all from?

Tony- There are actually 5-6 of us in this company. A few of us are from St. Thomas (Tony TBL Bongiovi, Iambakisye Richardson, Kevin, Matthew). Celestino Arrindell is from St.Maarten and Marcus is from California. We all met in St. Thomas at UVI and individually been exploring our areas of expertise for a couple of years before the team was actually formed. We all obtained our bachelors degree from UVI and different universities and were stationed in St.Thomas. We recently relocated to Orlando where we will start our journey on entering the mainland market.

That's cool. So what is "G.E.A.R.S."? How did it formulate?

Tony - Iambakisye and Tony coming together and forming a sort of power team called G.E.AR.S. Which is an acronym for Graphics Entertainment Art Rhythm & Style. They had always wanted to create this power team but never full pursued it. Tony had worked with all of the members that are currently working in G.E.A.R.S. on an individual basis for the project he was working on called PROJECT VI. Which was a collaborative album of all the musical talents from the Virgin Islands at that time. He worked with Celestino a year before the team was officially formed. Celestino was at the time working on his website VI Out and About and Tony would do work with him on that. After awhile, the group started to work more consistently together because of their friendships and their skill level. People were acknowledging each individual as the "best in their field" so Tony took it a step further when he decided to move stateside. He brought them all together and took the concept that he and Iambakisye was working on and applied it to the team that was there working on each others projects. That's how GEARS was formed. The G.E.A.R.S. Production team is a group of talented individuals that independently dominated their respective specialties and decided to merge less than one roof, with one purpose. G.E.AR.S. sets out to deliver professional quality and utilize fresh creative ideas in an industry that is turbulent and constantly changing.

That's amazing! I'm glad that's working out for you all. What different services does "G.E.A.R.S." offer?

Tony - Collectively our G.E.A.R.S. team can provide clients with a complete solution to any media or productions services. From concept to completion, we deliver services for any form of media content with the highlighted standard: commercials, feature films, press kits, webisodes, short films, documentaries, music videos, weddings, photography, album covers, portfolios, logo design, business cards, website design, brand-development, vocal recording, audio engineering, producing, track mixing, mastering, and more.

What are the benefits of networking? It is an important thing to do in the entertainment industry. A lot of job opportunities and great connections are made this way. First and foremost I'd like to thank you for this interview. What is the purpose of TGC?

TGC - TGC stands for "The Glorius Connect". It's kind of like the Columbian without the drugs; high quality service at a competitive rate. But here, we only deal with entertainment. The purpose of this company is to connect serious professionals with professions of their need at a competitive rate, as well as with other professionals in their field.

What is your role in TGC?

TGC - I'm Glorius, The CEO and Co-Founder, along with my partner Ricky Cross. We both are recent Full Sail University graduates. We oversee the basic operations of facilitating these connections between the recording artist or client and the services that we specifically work with to make sure the job is done efficiently. Our main role is consulting and connecting the recording artist or client with competitive rates at which they would then be able to pursue their dreams while saving tons of money throughout it.

That's informative and very helpful. Have you seen great success with TGC?

TGC - The company began in 2011. We are growing strong as we've reached our second year with new and talented artists, services, and projects coming in left and right. Currently, we are focusing on a full year ahead of us. The word success is taken very seriously here at TGC. So no, to be honest we have not reached a level to where we can be able to even use the word success, but progress is more like it! Well I definitely appreciate your honesty. We all have our different levels of success and I'm sure that TGC will reach it soon! What are your overall goals as you both continue to work in the entertainment industry?

TGC - Well first, before anything we want to have fun! While at the same time making professional and personal connections with the individuals that we come in contact with. We also want to create a comfortable atmosphere that allows professionals to work together rather than working against each other to entertain the masses. The goal of becoming legends in the eyes of many through our various community activities, such as food and toy drives will be sponsored by major companies. Our goals change often when we notice a new issue to solve, but our most ultimate goal is to change the world.

Simone The Fashion Stylist: "Simonipulation"

I know you're from Buffalo, NY. Could you tell me more about your background and childhood?

Simone - I grew up semi-poor I guess you can say. My parents split up when I was 5 and I lived with my mother and 2 brothers. We struggled a lot but I was a happy kid. I was a nerd in school and always got good grades. I was always very social and often got into too much trouble for talking too much in class. I always had lots of friends and even when I was young, I had a strong fashion sense.

I love your work. When did you know that you wanted to become a fashion stylist/consultant? What inspired you?

Simone - I actually discovered what I wanted to do about a year ago. I started off going to college for communications, and then switched to early childhood thinking that I wanted to be a teacher. Then I finally sat down and thought about what I was really good at. Every time we went out my friends would all ask my for my opinion, or I would end up somehow picking out their outfits. So I decided that I was going to be a stylist. I asked 2 of my closest friends and they told me to go from there. The rest is history!

That's cool! Can you tell me more about "Simonipulation" and what it means?

Simone - Simonipulation is a mix of my name, Simone, and manipulation. What I do to a person's style, look, and wardrobe is manipulation. I put my own little flavor, twist, and style on something and people always tell me that the looks I put together are nothing they would ever fathom.

That is so creative. I love it! Are there any other services that you offer besides styling?

Simone - I also make custom made earrings, and I act as a personal shopper!

Oh yes, I've seen your earrings and they are very unique! I will definitely hire you as my personal shopper one day too. What is your overall goal for "Simonipulation"?

Simone - I want to make Simonipulation a household name! I want the world to know what I can do, but I also want to inspire others to follow their dreams no matter what. I have no college degree, no big support system, and Lord knows I'm not rich, but what I do have is ambition, and a drive for success. I won't stop until I'm dead!

Fashion Designer Adisa: "AdianiC"

Adisa Christopher is the owner of her clothing line "AdianiC". After taking sewing classes as a young girl, she started to make her own school uniforms and her peers were impressed. Throughout the years she improved her skills by creating skirts, blouses, and shorts. Soon after, Adisa began to make gowns. Check out our interview below as we discuss more about her success and life as a fashion designer.

Adisa, I hear you're a phenomenal designer. I'd like to know more about your background. Where are you from?

Adisa - You have definitely heard right. I was born in Arizona, but raised in St. Croix, US Virgin Islands since I was only months old.

That's cool. What inspired you to be a fashion designer? How long have you been designing clothes?

Adisa - I was inspired by just wanting to be different. Being from a small island, it is very common to go to a function and someone else is wearing the same thing as you. I started sewing and designing when I was 12, and I will be 22 in 2.5 months. I launched my clothing line "AdianiC" in 2010 and my Carnival/Festival Troupe "Radekal Ravaz" in 2011.

Nice! You've been designing for quite some time now. What services do you offer? Have you ever designed clothes for any fashion shows?

Adisa - I offer many services such as: evening and cocktail dresses, prom dresses, casual wear, swimwear, and some men's wear to name a few. I have participated in 2 shows last year. The 2nd "Annual Caribbean Fashion Extravagaza in Brooklyn" and "Virgin Islands Fashion Week (VIFW) hosted in St. Thomas, USVI. I also designed evening wear dresses for contestants participating in the "Ms Jamaica-US" pageant and the "Ms VI-PR Pageant". This year I will be particularizing in the "Plitz Swimwear Passion for Fashion" runway show, the "Bikini Under the Bridge" fashion show, and the 3rd "Annual Caribbean Fashion Extravaganza".

Wow, that's amazing. I must say that your clothing is very unique. Ladies I advise you to check out Adisa's swimwear collection 2012! What is your overall goal from a designers' perspective?

Adisa - My overall goal is to have my line in many stores worldwide, but to still be able to create unique one of a kind pieces for clients who enjoy them.

B'More: New Mixtape Release

Congrats to the release of your new mixtape! Can you tell me more about it?

B'More - Thank you so much, it's been a lot of hard work and took a lot of patience on this project. It is a 14 track album with two Spoken words done by my long time friend and brother Robert Swain Jr. It's my second mixtape in the last year and already it has gained great reviews from New Jersey to Orlando to France, and of course the Virgin Islands.

It sounds intriguing. What collaborations have you done?

B'More - Collaborations on the album are "Xcel da don", Da Jedi, up and coming duo by the name of "Epik and Neekz". I also networked with some producers from France by the name of "Engy". There is "Mtech" who goes to Full Sail University from LA, Chaurbin "Bition" Smith who is my big brother from the Virgin Islands attending Full Sail University as well. "Michael "Cavy" Kavangh" who is from the VI and also attends Full Sail University. I tried to stretch my hands and open my options and my music creativity to make the mixtape stand out.

Wow, that's a lot of collabs. Congrats on that too! So B'More, what song would you recommend me to listen to off your mixtape and why?

B'More - This is a tough question cause I feel like every song relates to different situations in our lives. There's the club song, the relationship song, the song for the middle of the night "if you know what I mean". There's that song that will take you to that place where you get inspired. But my personal favorite will be the one I will release pretty soon as my new single is "Last One". It speaks volume to a relationship and the stuff you go through. It convinces you not to leave and start a brand new relationship with someone else because you have problems with your significant other. It surrenders you to stay and work it out because you want to be the "Last One" ever go through something with because that's when "Forever" starts.

It sounds like you have a variety of topics on your mixtape. I'll just listen to the whole thing. Are you currently working on any new projects or events?

B'More - I am presently working on a 3-part documentary. Part 1 and 2 are out and will be released this week. It's called "B'More's ForeverMusic Mixtape Series". It's just about my life and my journey through the Mixtape. I just felt that my fans never got to see that side of me because it's very genuine and I felt it they saw my hard work instead of seeing the gift and hearing they will appeal more to my music. It's a difference when people see hard work. I am also in the process of putting together a mini tour around the Virgin Islands with fellow rap artist Da Jedi, since my mixtape is out and his album is releasing in June 2012 so we are bringing that into fruition by next month. I have a show on April 2nd and then on the 20th. So I am getting ready for those.

I'm so happy for you B'More. I think that your documentary is a great way to engage with your fans. What point do you think you are at in life?

B'More - At this point of my life you can say that I'm still an inspiration for anyone who came up from nothing, becoming into someone great. I'm a RnB artist staying true to God, love, myself, and most of all the essence of music and what it truly does to the human race. I am at a good place in my life, a year away from graduating from college and I'm finding myself more and more each day through my passion, music.

From what I understand you're an aspiring artist raised in San Antonio, Texas. Can you tell me more about your background?

Nyce - I was born in NY and my family moved down here when I was little. I lived the life just like everyone else. Good times, bad times. Did good, did bad. But I think it's different for me because I learned from my experiences and never let any of it hold me back. I'm 23 years old. My stage name is "Nawfest Nyce". I came up with the name because I live on the Northwest side of town and my friends have been calling me Nyce since forever so I just put the two together.

That's creative because honestly I was trying to figure out how that name came about. How long have you been doing music?

Nyce - I've been doing music for years. It's always been a love of mine. I can think back to middle school banging on the table and freestyling with my people. As I got older, I started getting serious with it and exploring my talent and showcasing it. So from a serious aspect I'd say about 3 years now.

So Nyce what makes your music different from other artists in the industry?

Nyce - My music is different because I stay away from the norm. I don't follow the trends. In the words of Big Krit, "I'm trying to make timeless music that lasts forever". I tell my life story in my music, and there's a meaning behind every line. I tell it all from my lowest to my highest moments.

That's abnormal these days. Stick to doing that and I'm sure you'll continue to be unique in the industry. Are you currently working on any new projects or events?

Nyce - I just released my second solo project titled "Born To Win" so I've been pushing that pretty hard. I got a few vid shoots and shows lined up to end this month off. So I'm just making as much progress as I can.

I wish you the best with that. What are your future goals as an artist Nyce?

Nyce - I want to touch lives with my music. I never thought I would, but I already am. A few people have told some of my songs have made them see things differently or change the way they think for the better. That's crazy to me! I also want to learn every aspect of the game. I'm learning to dj and produce now. Once I get that down I want to learn some of the business side of it.

Working In The Film Industry: Ray Morales JR

I'd like to know more about you. Where are you from? Can you give me a snippet of your background?

Ray - I am from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. I was the only child and my mother raised me. It wasn't easy growing up in North Philadelphia with all the bad influences around but I somehow found a way to stay out of trouble. I graduated from Northeast High School and moved to Florida when I was 22 years old to start my college career at Full Sail University.

Nice. When did you first decide to work in the film industry?

Ray - I first decided to work in the film industry when I watched my first film. It was the horror movie "Halloween", and I will never forget the effect and impact that movie had on my life. I t inspired me to become a filmmaker and learn all the tricks and trades on how to make a film. I also loved music videos, and watched them constantly as a teenager and also pictured myself making them one day. I loved director Hype Williams and wanted to be on his level of expertise. Hype Williams has influenced me to be in this industry and if you watch some of my videos you will see some of his signature effects.

That's very intriguing! Have you worked on any recent projects? Are you working on anything in the future?

Ray - I just finished working on two music videos, one for a local artist by the name of "Peter Pills", and one for an upcoming Philadelphia group "Top of Philly". Right now I'm working on a promotional video for SCMCMUSICCONFRENCE.COM, and in pre production for a new music video for a local Orlando artist "Peter Pills". I am also making a trip to Louisiana, and Texas this month for two more music videos and a couple of photo shoots.

That's wonderful Ray. I wish you the best in all of your projects and success in the industry! What are your goals as you continue to work in the entertainment industry?

Ray - My goal is to become a lead editor for a huge production company. I will also like to be a well-known music video director like "Mr. Hype Williams" himself, and would like to make a huge impact in the music video industry. I want people to know who I am and recognize me for my great projects and put my STAMP in this industry.

Working In the Film Industry: Janee' Smith

Where are you from? Could you provide a snippet of your background?

Janee' - I'm from Oakland, California. Growing up it was just my mom, sisters, and I. Being the eldest, I had a lot of responsibility. Picture this; 8 year old girl changing diapers, feeding, clothing, and babysitting was the story of my life. I guess you can say that I had to grow up fast. It has its pros and cons but it made me more mature and responsible. I didn't grow up with the "Cosby show family" but who really has? Since the 6th grade my passions have always been photography, film, and writing. Poetry is the way I express myself and every photo I took had a story behind it. My pencil, paper, and cameras were all I needed to escape the harsh realities of the world. It was a dream I made into a reality.

That's wonderful Janee'. Much respect. When did you first decide to work in the film industry? What are your skills?

Janee' - Two years ago actually when I took a t.v. studio techniques course at College. The teacher gave us an assignment to create our own show and I came up with "Caught Up". That's when I realized that I could incorporate my writing, directing, editing, producing, and acting skills. The film industry allows me to express my vivid imagination. I have the ability to hear a song, someone's story etc just once andI create an illusion in my head. I see a scene play out while I'm reading, talking, or listening. It's as if my imagination creates a fantasy that becomes reality.

Wow! That's amazing. You're very gifted. Have you worked on any recent projects? Are you working on anything for the future?

Janee' - Yes, I've worked on various projects. My most recent is "The Life of Monica: Caught Up". I'm transforming "Caught Up" into a mini series. In the future I'll be working on music video, short films, and movies.

Well I'm definitely looking forward to when I will hear your name a lot in the entertainment business based off of your work. What are your goals as you continue to work in the film industry?

Janee' - My goal is to become a TV producer/director. There is no limit to our abilities so I see myself having various t.v. shows, movies, books, music videos, magazine, clothing line, restaurants, and even my own network like Oprah.

Janee' Smith is a very inspiring individual. I'm sure she will continue to do great as a successful black woman.

Model & Entertainer: Diamond Cold

So Diamond where are you from? Can you give me a summary of your background?

Diamond - I was born and raised in California Bay Area my entire life. I grew up in a household with my mother and father a younger sister and brother. I went to Berkeley High School in Berkeley Ca, where I started to get into art classes, afro-hasion, modern dance classes and I was even a cheerleader on varsity for 3 years. This opened my world to being an entertainer; the rush I got on the stage in the spot light made me feel at home.

Nice. So what inspired you to be a model and entertainer? Have you worked in any other fields of the industry before becoming a model?

Diamond - When Twitter and Facebook became big I started pushing a lot of promotional work through media webpages for upcoming events and my part was mainly hosting club events. That's where I first started, I was inspired by others I already knew in the same industry and the ideal of having a good time while making money sounded great to me. Which lead to my first modeling gig. I was asked by an upcoming photographer to do a shoot at Lake Merrit which brought a lot of attention my way. By then I changed my name to Diamond Cold. I tried changing it then people wanted the Cold back so the name stuck 2 years later.

Yea social media has opened a lot of people to become entertainers due to the availability of promoting events on their sites. Are there any recent projects that you've worked on? What can we expect from Diamond Cold in the future?

Diamond - I recently got signed to a bay area entertainment company who goes by the name Global Girls Entertainment. Which involved me in a fashion show. The proceeds went to children adoption agencies. I'm currently working on two upcoming photo shoots that I'm very excited about. One is a vintage shoot in San Jose Ca, and a pinup shoot which will be out doors in downtown Pleasant Hill. Can't wait! In the future you can expect a lot from Diamond Cold. A lot more photo shoots and fashion shows. I'll be hosting for different venues and even Go-Go dancing. I plan to try all different aspects modeling and entertainment at least once to see what I truly enjoy.

That's wonderful Diamond. I wish you the best as you continue to work in this industry! What is your overall goal as a model and entertainer?

Diamond - My overall goal as a model/entertainer is to help local artists if its either hair styles, make-up, clothes design videos and so much more. Also, to push confidence and beauty and positive thinking amongst all woman so we can be sister instead of all the hatred, which will create a bigger outcome for everyone.

I'd like to know more about Organized Money Ent.

Frisk - Organized Money Entertainment originally began to support my own rap career. In the early days of the company, to earn money, we use to throw a bunch of parties in Richmond, Va. That was in like '08, my first club party was on my 21st birthday March 29th.... shout out to the Aries lol... but I got so caught up in party promotion that I forgot to focus on my music career. Then I went to college to gain more insight in to the business and that's all there is to know about OME right now. I graduate this summer and that's when I plan to revamp the company, music included.

Nice. So Frisk, what encouraged you to start your business?

Frisk - Well as honest as I can be, it was my lil homie Ron. I refer to him in a lot of songs as my Getting' Money Youngin aka GMY. He said he use to rap back in the day but when I met him he was a hustler, but not like your street corner hustler. He got all money. He was a pool boy in his apartments, had another job and still got money with me however we could *evil laugh*. Back then I had a studio in my room. You know the mic in the closet set-up and he was like I should start a label and he'd be the co-owner with me. We joked around with it but then we realized this could be another way to make money. All we did was hustle and we wanted the name to reflect that. We were both good for a few extra hundred so we just went half on everything. We started out getting logos done, had shirts, jackets, and clothes for chicks. We were paying for the club before the party instead of waiting to count the money at the door. We paid our street team, there were no rules with us. Organized Money Entertainment became our lifestyle, but not noticing any progress besides increased popularity encouraged me to choose the school route and return when the time is right.

You know what Frisk? I love your honesty. Everyone has to start somewhere in life and it's awesome that you chose to attend college so that the knowledge you'd obtain would help your business to become more successful. Are there any new projects/events that you're working on?

Frisk - I mean it's no official project lined up but I have way too many songs done. I got a few on my soundcloud and reverbnation, but I really want to have some out around the time of my graduation this summer of '12.
