<p>We&#8217;ve also implemented Facebook Connect so new customers can now click a &#8220;Sign in with Facebook&#8221; button on the registration page of your Customer Site and buy tickets immediately without any email registration.</p>

<p>Assuming you have the software installed properly, there are a few required parameters you have to set before you can make the website live (Subscription customers should skip the first step.)</p>
<ul>
<li>Login to the Administration Portal at the address that was emailed to you. Here are the initial login details, which you should change after you login via Setup &gt; Change Password : User = admin, Password = admin</li>
<li>Then go to Setup &gt; Configuration where you are will need to do some configuration of your new front end Customer Site.
<ul>
<li>Site name – this is the website name which is displayed in the top header and everywhere used as your website or organizational name.</li>
<li>Domain – This is the domain name where the event ticketing software is installed.</li>
<li>Paypal ID – This is the the email address you have registered with PayPal and through which you&#8217;ll receive payment for tickets.</li>
<li>Sandbox – This is the testing box for PayPal. If you want to run the site in testing mode, enable this by adding the number &#8220;1&#8243; to this field.</li>
<li>Default Country – This is where you need to select the default country. The Customer Site will show time formats based on this.</li>
<li>Currency – The default currency your users will purchase in.</li>
<li>AddThis – This is the social networking sharing button placed in the footer of the Customer Site. You can sign up for new AddThis username to insert here at www.addthis.com</li>
<li>Producer Module – If you want to allow producer registration (i.e. affiliates who will sell tickets on your behalf) set this field to &#8220;1&#8243;. Please note that once a producer registers, the Administrator has to approve them from Admin Portal. Once approved, the producer will be able to list their own events through the Customer Site, but will not have access to the Admin Portal.</li>
<li>Google Map API – You need a valid Google Map API for your domain name for the Customer Site to display maps correctly. You can easily get one at http://code.google.com/apis/maps/signup.html</li>
<li>Order Prefix – Set any prefix you want to add to the order numbers.</li>
<li>Gift Certificate Terms – These will be the generic terms for all restaurant and gift certificates.</li>
</ul>

<h3>Setting Up Events</h3>
<p>Event can be created by Administrators from the Admin Portal, and by Producers from the Customer Site. But before creating an event, an Administrator must initially add either artists or shows from which events are created.</p>
<p>Here are the steps to follow :</p>
<ul>
<li>Login to the Administration Portal at the address that was emailed to you. Here are the initial login details, which you should change after you login via Setup &gt; Change Password : User = admin, Password = admin</li>
<li>Make sure the city is added in which the event is located. If not, go to Location Management &gt; Cities and add a new city.</li>
<li>Once a city is available, you need to enter the Venue for the event. Go to Location Management &gt; Venues add a new venue. Once a venue is added, you can then add artists and shows.</li>
<li>To add artist or shows go to Event Management &gt; Artists / Shows. Don&#8217;t forget to upload a photo! Once an artist or show is added, you can then add an event from which to sell tickets.</li>
<li>To add an event, go to Event Management &gt; Events. Once event is added, you can then add tickets and seats to that event.</li>
<li>To add tickets, go to Event Management &gt; Events again, and note the number of tickets in the Tickets column. That column will show &#8220;0&#8243; tickets for your event initially. Click on that 0, then on Add New and add your tickets and seats. If you don&#8217;t have Section and Row details, just all &#8220;All&#8221; to those fields. For Available Seats, if you have 15 places you want to sell tickets for, just add them like &#8220;1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12,13,14,15&#8243;.</li>
<li>Once you add your tickets and seats, your event is live on the Customer Site and tickets can be purchased.</li>
</ul>
<p></br></p>
<h3>Useful Tips</h3>
<ul>
<li>If you want to do a test purchase, you can enable the PayPal sandbox under Setup &gt; Configuration or you can create tickets and seats at a price if $0. When you use a price of $0, the system assumes the ticket is FREE and does not take the purchasing customer to PayPal for payment. It immediately lets that customer buy the ticket and print it.</li>
<li>If you get stuck anywhere, just hit the back button until you get back to a familiar page. We find that some servers which are heavily shared get &#8220;stuck&#8221; and don&#8217;t return the system to the correct position after information is saved. Your data is of course fine, though.</li>
<li>If you want to fine tune your Customer Site, go to Setup and get rid of unneeded Categories, add images to the HomePage Slider, etc.</li>
</ul>

<p>Follow these steps in order to install Event Ticketing 5 on your hosting server.</p>
<ul>
<li>Download the ZIP file containing your Event Ticketing software from your Client Area. You should have received log in details for your Client Area in the Welcome email we sent you after your purchase. If not, please email us at Support@events-ticketing.com after checking that the Welcome email is not in your email spam folder.</li>
<li>Extract the ZIP file containing your Event Ticketing software to your Desktop</li>
<li>Go to the the /version_5_dev/includes folder and open the config.php file using the Notepad application or similar</li>
<li>Add the License Key that you received in your Welcome email into line number 20 of the config.php file which looks like <strong>$GLOBALS['licensekey']=&#8217;enter license key&#8217;;</strong>So, for example, if your License Key is 0123453240223120112345 then change <strong>$GLOBALS['license']=&#8217;enter license key&#8217;;</strong> to <strong>$GLOBALS['license']=&#8217;0123453240223120112345&#8242;;</strong> and then save the file</li>
<li>Create a new MySQL database in your hosting account (e.g. CPanel) on your server</li>
<li>Import the db_evt_empty.sql database from the /version_5_dev/db folder into the empty MySQL database you created in the previous step (If you are using CPanel, go to phpMyAdmin &gt; Databases &gt; the name of the database you created in the previous step &gt; Import &gt; Browse your computer)</li>
<li>Open the /version_5_dev/includes/db_config.php file and enter the following 4 values between the sets of inverted commas there :<br />
- database host (If you are using CPanel, go to phpMyAdmin and the host name appears near the top right of the main window under MySQL, Server)<br />
- database name<br />
- database user<br />
- database password<br />
Then save and close the file.</li>
<li>Upload the version_5_dev folder to the public_html folder on your server and rename it to something cool, like &#8220;events-ticketing&#8221; : ) You may have to zip the version_5_dev folder, upload it to your server, then unzip it again before renaming.</li>
<li>Make sure the following folders inside the folder on your server from the previous step have write permissions (i.e. CHMOD 777) :<br />
/artist_images<br />
/gf_images<br />
/images_slider<br />
/images_users<br />
/templates_c<br />
/venue_images<br />
/venue_maps<br />
(If you are using CPanel, go to File manager &gt; public_html folder, then simply highlight the appropriate folders, right click them and select Change Permissions in the context menu, then select all the boxes to make sure the Permissions row is all 7s)</li>
</ul>
<p>And that&#8217;s it! Your Event Ticketing website is now ready!</p>

It took us considerable time to rebuild the core functionality of the software and integrate the Smarty Template Engine fully, but now we have done just that.</p>
<p>The software has several great new features including the afore mentioned template integration, multi-language packs, separate gift certificates, and restaurant &#038; venue profiles. And to top it all off, much of the event creation process can now be accomplished through quick links. Events can now be listed very quickly by city, venue and artist.</p>
<p>The other major benefit is that the software now allows anyone to provide tickets online for anything! Now one is no longer restricted to selling tickets for shows and artists only, but also for exhibitions, free events, corporate conferences, trade shows and pretty much anything else.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>In an effort to increase the value we provide to our new and existing customers, we&#8217;re now implementing the powerful Smarty Template Engine in our software. We hope to have this completed within the next 2 to 3 weeks at the latest. We discovered that there were some minor coding issues in our previous event planning template, but this new template engine upgrade will completely overwrite the old one with new, clean code.</p>
<p>The new layout is slightly different from the existing design and will feature a new jQuery based drop down menu for the super-fast listing of categories and other sections of the Customer Website.</p>
<p>This new upgrade will also facilitate multiple languages for the Customer Website! We are currently recruiting help for translations in French and Spanish, and will be adding more language packs soon.</p>
