While the latest bill passed by the Senate in New Jersey only targets a small amount of people who would be using event ticketing software, the movement still bears watching as legal issues are the last thing anybody wants to have to deal with. The bill was passed by a 5-1 vote and backed by the state Senate Commerce Committee and the National Consumers League. While the event ticketing bill mainly affects concerts, event ticketing system managers should certainly be aware of what this means overall.

Surprisingly, even with resistance from the New Jersey Sports and Exposition Authority and the Greater Atlantic City Chamber of Commerce, the new bill provides what some are saying is too much transparency, something that could affect those reselling tickets on an open source ticket system.

Event Ticketing Software and Ticketing Systems On Alert

Opponents of the bill are saying that the increased transparency will mean New Jersey will have a hard time attracting larger events to the state. Event ticketing software experts have yet to weigh in on how this will affect business in the state and sales in general, but Senator Lesniak, a Democrat from Union County had plenty to say:

“Fans and spectators from around New Jersey look to ticket retailers to provide them with entrance to their favorite concerts, comedy shows or sporting events. Unfortunately ticket retailers have adopted practices that close the market – making their companies virtual monopolies – and that deceptively lure consumers into thinking they have a fair shot at buying tickets at face value. And as the secondary ticket market has grown to an estimated $3 billion a year industry, many within the ticket industry see the ticket resale business as an opportunity for huge revenue gains. It is important that we ensure that the market remains open, transparent and competitive for all interested parties from the corporate giants of the event ticketing industry to the individual with a single ticket to sell.”

Event Ticketing Software Reaching Sales Highs With Ticketing Printing Software

And while it certainly is true that the secondary ticket market is growing, concerns at this time seem to only be residing in the state of New Jersey. The bill, S-875, serves as a revision to event ticketing sales and resale laws which now protect consumers’ resale rights and create transparency on the regulations of the ticket market. The bill effectively ends the practice of restrictive paperless ticketing where credit cards are necessary for purchase along with an ID for event entrance. The new bill states that these tickets are restrictive because they are non-transferable or are only available for resale by the original seller’s approved secondary exchange service i.e. TicketMaster’s TicketsNow or TicketExchange.

While this may seem like another grab towards a monopoly by TicketMaster, especially seeing as event ticketing software only made up about 1% of the sales in question, the government certainly seems to be turning a blind eye with the passing of this bill.

Stay tuned for more news as experts weigh in on what this means for ticket printing software. In the meantime, tell us what you think about S-875 below.

The face of customer relations has been forever changed by social media; the way we interact with our clientele has been reverted from the long-distance world of the telephone to the small, yet international market of the Internet. It’s an oxymoron, sure, but one that we have to adjust to as event planners. That’s why ticketing software is so important as to how both large and small businesses operate today.

Ticketing software, with its conveniences like ticket printing software and ticket event templates, helps build a better relationship with your customers. From the small time events ticketing host to larger companies who are outsourcing their customer relations and care units, ticketing software builds customer relations.

But not only that, it can also increase your customer base by providing more access to your ticketing tool. For tech savvy entrepreneurs, ticketing software is a way to invest in technology to expand your current business model to incorporate a whole new arm into your sales team. In essence, the opportunities are endless.

Ticketing Software Allows You To Target Specific Audiences Via Your Ticketing Tool

One way in which entrepreneurs are utilizing their ticketing software is by sending tickets directly to the mobile accounts of targeted customers and even potential leads. With the world now gone mobile (the sales of androids, iPhones and tablets are through the roof with no sign of slowing down), it’s important to be available to your customers at a moment’s notice. Ticketing software allows you to do just that.

Your e-commerce portfolio will spike substantially with every bit of audience you reach and the only way to do that is to make yourself more available to them in a shorter period of time than your competitors. With easy-to-use event planning software, you can do just that, beating your competition to the punch each and every time.

Ticketing Software Puts You In Touch Via Your Ticketing Tool

As mentioned above, it’s important to remember the way that social media has changed customer relations. It’s just as important for you to be available to your clients as it is for your tickets to be available. With ticketing software, you can interact directly with your customer base, improving your relations and in turn, consumer confidence. And by hosting your ticketing software with events-ticketing.com, most of your client’s questions will have already been answered on our FAQs page, saving you a lot of time and providing the client with instant feedback on their pressing questions.

This time that you save by using ticketing software will allow you to focus on the other aspects of your business, using that time to enhance and improve the machine. You can spend time figuring out new marketing models that will help you generate business while improving the overall infrastructure of your events ticketing business.

So, if you’re not using event ticketing software by now, there’s no reason not to try it today. The only thing you have to lose is business, and that’s never a good thing.

As ticketing systems entrepreneurs, we’re constantly looking for new ways to maximize our profits while reducing our margins. One place that it can be pretty risky to do any cutting is in the promotions department, especially with event planning software. So, in order to help you run your ticketing systems more efficiently, we’re sharing with you some unique promotional methods that won’t wind up costing you money, but will end up making you some.

Ticketing Systems Promotions and Your Open Source Ticket System

First, you should always start your promotional campaign off with a presale. Customers love to feel important and thanks to your event ticketing software, you can do just that. Launch an email or social media campaign that targets your client list with the privilege of buying tickets before the public does. This should offer some type of discount for those buying early directly from your ticketing systems, but it doesn’t have to. Just the fact that they are getting first crack at your ticketing tool can sometimes be enough. By getting some early sales, you’ll be able to free up time to pursue other avenues. You’ll also build a loyal customer following. If you have enough leads, try contacting American Express to see if they’ll offer special pre-sale access to their cardholders.

Second, you should always plan for weak sales and have additional components ready to tack on to boost them. Your ticketing systems aren’t the only ones out there so expect that the competition is expecting you. Be prepared for them as well as uncertainties (weather, power failure, natural disaster, etc.) and you will always come out on top. Tack on some additional items to get your sales back on track. Maybe a free poster of the event or a discount on their next visit to your ticketing systems; people love freebies.

Next, we know that we’ve talked ad nauseum about adding coupons for local retailers in some of our past blogs, but the fact is that it works. And with our simple ticket event template, it’s so easy to do, you’d be remiss not to try it at least once. Simply visit some local eateries, shops, movie theaters or whatever is around your venue and offer to cross-promote. Other people want to get their name out there just as you do.

Finally, a neat trick we’ve found to work is to trade tickets for services. Let’s say that you want to advertise in a local paper or something of the sort. People will often barter tickets for advertising space. You don’t always have to make all of your sales right on your ticketing systems (though it’s much easier). Perhaps even offering a discount ticket to your event will land you some free publicity.

Thinking Outside The Ticketing Systems Box With Your Event Planning Software

The bottom line is that if you want to save money on advertising, you’ll need to get creative. Everyone and theirmother is using social media; think outside the ticketing systems box and you just might strike gold. Until next time!

With Halloween just around the corner, we figured it’d be a good time to talk about thematic event ticketing and how using your ticket event template could bring some life to your ticketing tool. Keeping the time of year in mind, you can fully customize your tickets using the template to easily insert pictures or other fun things that will draw your customers in.

By putting your salesman cap on and using your event ticketing knowledge, you should realize that adding extra value to your ticket will always help sales. But how can you make your event ticketing webpage stand out in the crowd? Quite easily, actually.

For instance, with Halloween coming up, adding some coupons for free candy or discounts at a costume store will certainly entice buyers. Adding value to tickets, even if the customer doesn’t use it, makes them feel like they are getting more bang for their buck, a deciding factor on many purchases in today’s tough economy.

Event Ticketing For The Holiday With Ticket Printing Software

Another great thing to keep in mind is that any event ticketing which is specific to a certain time of year needs to be honed in on immediately. Whether it’s Christmas, Independence Day (in any country) or even local holidays, there are always events that take place only around those days. For instance, Halloween is big with haunted houses, but you rarely see any in the summer. That’s because haunted houses are a time-specific event. Therefore, haunted houses charge astronomical prices for admission because they only happen once a year…and people pay! There are time-specific events like this going on all over the world that provide online ticket purchasing which you can factor into your own event ticket template.

You should always have an eye on the calendar and keep a watchful eye for holidays. About a month or two before the date draws near, begin checking for events that you could use your event ticketing system to make money from. Keeping in mind the mentality that people like to spend more money around special dates (think of how much money you or your family spends around celebratory dates), you should see this as an opportunity for your event ticketing sales to go through the roof.

Because people don’t mind spending extra, ticket prices are normally fairly high for these types of events, which brings us back to our original point: added value. You have to ask yourself just what it is that sets your event ticketing page apart from others selling tickets to the same event? Why should a customer choose to buy from you?

Setting Your Event Ticketing Apart From The Crowd With Your Ticket Event Template

And the answer to that question is the added value you provide through discounts and coupons, a simple feature to manipulate with your ticket event template. Think outside of the box and use your own experience as a buyer to come up with ways to make people take notice of your event ticketing pages. What is it that attracts your eye to one thing over another? You have the very special edge over consumers in the fact that you are both a salesman AND a consumer. Take advantage of that edge and when the holidays come around, your event ticketing sales will never be better.

Last week we talked a little bit about preparedness when it comes to planning your event with your event ticketing software, so this week, we thought it'd be good to keep it in the same vein about troubleshooting problems with your ticketing systems before they arise. Of course, in any customer based service like events ticketing, the number one tangible is the actual customers. As some of you may have already experienced along the way, just because you do everything right with your event ticketing software, you use the ticket event template and the online ticket printing software, not everything will always go according to plan.

That's because customers are all unique individuals who may not be seeing things from your point of view. Whereas you see an easy way for you not to deal with individuals by utilizing an open source ticket system, your customers see it as just an interface and may still demand actual "facetime" with the person they are buying the tickets from. While this may be a hassle and one of the reasons you started using event ticketing software in the first place, with a little foresight and planning, dealing with customer questions doesn't have to be the nightmare some people make it out to be. So relax, take a deep breath and let's take a look at some questions you can expect to hear, this way you can plan for them in advance.

Event Ticketing Software and Ticket Printing Software Questions

Here we have some of the most common questions we've seen asked over the years, so for each one of your events, it's a good idea for you to have the answers to these questions handy. Doing so will keep your stress level down and allow you to keep a cool and calm manner in all of your correspondences no matter how rude or unruly the customer is. Remember, customer service starts and ends with a smile, so try to keep one on your face as you respond to some of the following:

Is there an age restriction to the event?

Do children get in for free?

Can I buy concession tickets?

Is the venue handicap accessible?

Even with the event planning template provided for you in your event planing software, it's always good to have a manual checklist that will help to make certain you don't overlook anything. Sometimes, we get so carried away in the excitement of planning our event, we often overlook core essentials that can turn a successful event into a nightmare. The best way to avoid this is by using the event planning template that comes with your event software as it has virtually all the informational fields you'll need marked as vital inputs, ensuring you don't overlook the essentials. This is a surefire way to make sure that even the busiest of the busy don't miss a thing.

But what about if you're not just selling tickets to an event, but actually planning and running the event as well. With the many hats an events planner has to wear, without the proper organizational skills, it's quite easy to let tasks you think can wait until the last minute fall by the wayside. These seemingly menial tasks can pile up to come back and bite you when you least expect it, causing aggravation plus lost time, money and possibly business.

An easy way to avoid this is to prepare your own event planning template that will act as a sort of checklist to help guide you through your planning, execution and post-event evaluation stages. Using this in tandem with the event planning template provided in your open source ticket system will keep your functions running smoother than silk.

Thinking Outside The Event Software With A Manual Event Planning Template

Though everybody's event planning template checklist will differ, feel free to use this as a starting point for your own personal needs.

Name of the event

Date of the event

Time of the event

Location of the event

Type of event (concert, sporting, theatre, opening, conference, etc.)

Theme of event

Event coordinator

Contact sheet

Target audience (who are they, what do they need to know, what will hold their marketing interests)

Clear message (what do you want to convey to your audience, what should they know, why should they care)

Personal objectives of the event

Detailed description of the event

Risk assessment–identify possible risks (e.g. weather, food/drink problems, delays, etc.) and develop strategies to minimize and/or cope with them

Plan budget and implement measures to stay within it

Permits (state, county, district, etc.)

Codes (if any)

Mailing list (email or snailmail, social media invites, telephone calls, personal invites, etc.)

Talent notified of all pertinent information (keynote speakers, bands, performers, teams, etc.)

Catering (menu, cost per head or upfront, beverages, food, hot/cold plates, power sources, equipment, tables/cups/seating/silverware, self-service or wait staff, upmarket or casual, special dietary needs, does theme go with food, etc.)

Advertising (TV, radio, print, social media, website, word of mouth, etc.)

Signage (banners, directional arrows, fliers, handouts, leaflets, etc.)

Speeches/Speakers prepared

Added value for guests (giveaways, promotions, contests, coupons on tickets, gift bags, publications, CD's, etc.)

Security

First aid

Staffing

Audio/visual requirements

Ambiance (flowers, decorations, music, etc.)

Guest comfort (toilets, wheelchair accessible, ushers, coatroom, hospitality, welcome booth,

Housekeeping (before, during and after)

Seating (VIP, arranged, etc.)

Name tags

Registration desk

Guest feedback

Following this event planning template should make everything flow smoothly, especially if you're using online ticket printing software.

Event Planning Template For Evaluation of Event Ticketing Success

After your event is over, it's time to use a post-event planning template to evaluate your event and judge the successes and failures. By doing this, you can ensure that your next event will turn out even better, providing a constant upgrading of services that leads to consumer confidence and repeat clientele. Ask yourself the following:

What were our aims/objectives?

Did we meet them?

Did we achieve what we set out to do?

Did it come in, on, over or under budget?

Where did we go over?

Where did we project more than we spent?

What were the intended/unintended outcomes of our event?

How could we plan for those next time (to either promote or prevent them as need be)?

What could've have made this event better i.e. what could have improved the value of this event to the customers?

By presenting the facts to yourself in a non-biased way, you can be sure to improve with each and every event you plan. But remember, not telling yourself the truth will eliminate the effectiveness of any event planning template.

How about you? What do you do to prepare for an event? Have your own checklist? See anything wrong with ours? We want to hear from you, so leave a comment below!

Unless you've been on a deserted island for the past decade or so, you've probably realized that social media marketing is the wave of the future. Fortunately, this couldn't be better news for those using an event ticketing system to put their sales online. Because of the power of the Event Ticketing 5 event ticketing system, you can now put your tickets directly online for sale using your event management software. You don't need your own website to host the events ticketing sales so you've already saved on web hosting costs.

Next, all you need to do is take advantage of the social media feeding frenzy that is taking place right now all over the Internet and your event ticketing system can make you 100% profit with no investments necessary. So, how do you do that? Simple.

How To Use Social Media With Your Event Ticketing System and Ticket Printing Software

There's two main ways that you can go about promoting your event ticketing system through social media and those are: passively and aggressively. While both are successful ways to boost your events ticketing sales, as with anything, the more aggressive you are with your promotions, the higher your sales are most likely going to be. Let's take a look at both methods to see which is better suited to your time and needs.

Passive Social Media Marketing for Events Ticketing: The passive approach to social media marketing for your events ticketing simply requires you to be slightly active in the trending and relevant places. For instance, let's say you are selling tickets to a Brittany Spears concert. You use your event ticketing software to create your page that people can come and purchase tickets from. Then, you go to the relevant social media outlets and paste links to your pages with calls-to-action such as, "Click here for Brittany Spears floor seats at the lowest prices" or "I can't go to the concert so am selling my tickets. Click here right now to get them before anyone else does." The action is then in the hands of the social media users and they can either click the link and buy directly from your events ticketing page, or contact you for further details.

Aggressive Social Media Marketing for Events Ticketing: The aggressive approach, on the other hand, involves you directly participating and interacting with your potential clients. By creating an events page or twitter account that people can either 'like' or 'follow,' you can keep direct lines of communication open with your potential clients. This is especially handy if you have a lot of events that you are using your event ticketing system to promote, so consider this option. Interaction is the key here as it keeps your events ticketing business fresh in your client's mind as well as allows them a direct method to contact you should they require your services.

Which Social Media Is Best For Event Ticketing System Promotions with your Event Management Software?

As you probably guessed from the 'like' and 'follow' mentions listed above, the two obvious choices for getting your event ticketing system to work for you on social media are Facebook and Twitter. By either posting on fan pages or tweeting accounts dedicated to the celebrities whose concerts you are selling tickets for or even posting on the actual celebrity's Twitter feeds and Facebook walls themselves, you'll find that your events ticketing buyer's pages will be exposed to hundreds of thousands to millions of people instantly.

What this does is expands your marketing funnel, the place where your potential customers gather, thus allowing more of them to funnel down into your sales charts and wind up as actual customers. And the best thing about this is that you're doing it all free of charge, 100% profit in pocket. Social media doesn't cost a dime, so it's become quite the invaluable marketing tool for people like you. If you want your event ticketing system to generate more sales and more income, you can't afford not to look into it today.

What are some ways in which you've used social media to your benefit? We want to hear from you! Leave a comment below and let us know!
